    Brisket, beans, and cornbread

This place was okay! I got the kids meal which included 3oz of meat, a side, and my choice of bread. Solid deal and sufficient to fill me up. The brisket was juicy and tender! Best part of the meal. The spicy bbq sauce was a nice addition. I didn't care for the beans or cornbread unfortunately they were dry and lacking in flavor. Otherwise, service is quick and easy. Staff and host were very friendly. Lively spot for families, couples, and solos alike in a nice plaza in the heart of downtown Carmel.

We come back yearly for our anniversary. So far we've had crossroads bbq every time we roll into town. Unfortunately had to take the food to go since we took the pup for a walk but everything is as good! Tri tip and brisket were great! Bread pudding was good too! I have to try it again but I house so it's nice and warm when I do. Johnny was nice, we spoke bbq and explained menu items well! Great service! See you next year, bud!

We have made this a regular stop for takeout and dine in! They have a simple menu with good, barbecued meat and side dishes. Unique takes like shredded pork breakfast tacos, meat-filled baked spuds and large serving portions make it hard to resist. If you're not in the mood for meat, they have a Berry Bleu salad with blackberries, apples, glazed pecans and bleu cheese. It's a large portion and delicious! Enjoy the patio on a sunny day with your pet and watch as people walk by. Their staff is super friendly and to put a stamp on it all, they have a rewards program that leads to $$ rewards pretty fast. They have seasonal specials. In November, they had barbecued turkey that you could have as a combo or as a sandwich. In February 2026, they will have beef ribs. Three of us shared the bread pudding at the last visit and it had delicious details like a rum glaze and the same caramelized pecans as the Berry Bleu salad. One more thing to add: Every server and manager we've ever encountered has been super friendly. One of the servers remembers my order. I'm in a wheelchair and they're super helpful.

4 meat combo, two sides, and choice of bread

Surprisingly really good coming from a Bay Area foodie family. The whole fam said thumbs up. The staff was friendly and ready to help us or answer any questions. Ambience was casual but modern and clean. Let's get to the food! The Santa Maria salad ($23) that comes with half a pound of tri-tip was very green, fresh, savory, and filling. I used the blue cheese dressing and drizzled a bit of bbq sauce on it! In addition we ordered the four meat combo ($42) and tried tri-tip, brisket, burnt ends, and pork ribs. The high list was the moist brisket, tri tip was also good. Ribs were decent but not quite falling off the bone. As for the burnt ends, it's more drenched in sweet bbq sauce than burnt. Also decent but you'll have to eat it with bread otherwise it's too saucy to eat alone. Now the sides we got the potato salad very solid and tasty. The baked beans were tender but not over done. Good bbq flavor with bits of pulled pork. Flavor and seasoning level was just perfect so that you can eat endless amounts and not be sick of it. Our fam of 4 was pretty good at this point but since brisket was a fan favorite from our boys we ordered another half pound of brisket ($23). Good, but I'd say the combos are better value. We shall be back when we're in town!

For someone who really loves BBQ this is a place you have to stop by. The ribs are so so good and the brisket is perfect. With many BBQ spots they have great meats but sometimes lack in sides... once you try this corn bread and slaw... it will keep you coming back. Great spot. 10/10.

One of thr best local BBQ joints. The burnt ends, beefy ribs and tritips are excellent. The coleslaw is crisp and perfectly balanced. All sides are excellent. They use hickory wood to smoke their meats on the premises. It's is served cafeteria style. The service isn't bad but can be better.

Burnt Ends, BBQ Beans, Potato Salad, Cornbread and pickled garnish.

It's up in Carmel Valley in a little area with a few other stores. The restaurant is super casual, you walk up and order and then sit down. I still dream of that BLT. They have a pretty extensive wine and beer option too. Lots of beers on draft! The service was great. The trip was completely spontaneous since we had been in Big Sur earlier that day, but it ended up being well worth the drive. I never would've expected this market to be tucked away at the end of a residential street, but once you get close, you can smell the food before you even arrive. The sandwich was incredible...huge enough that we had to share it. The meat was so juicy it was literally dripping down my fingers, and I made an absolute mess eating it. I would definitely return. It truly feels like a hidden hole-in-the-wall spot run by hardworking, down-to-earth people. The owner was personable, engaged in friendly banter, and made the experience even better. Plenty of locals stopped by during our lunch, and what really stood out was that he even remembered my friend despite him not having lived in the area for the past three years.

We were seated right away without reservations. The place looks smaller than it is - they have a bunch of outdoor seating. It is a typical diner style establishment. And I'm not sure how accessible it is unless you know exactly where to park - there's a lot of stairs around. But it is a really cute location with lots of nice flowers and landscaping around. I can't remember our servers name - but he was really wonderful & had a great attitude. I ended up going with a custom skillet & my partner chose the biscuits & gravy and brisket chili. My custom skillet was super yummy & I was pleasantly surprised they had vegetarian sausage! It was well seasoned & the mushrooms were thinly sliced & cooked to perfection. I actually really enjoyed this meal. My partner really enjoyed his biscuits & gravy and thought it was one of the best ones he's ever had. He also was starstruck over the brisket chili, so I would definitely say to get a cup of that if that sounds like your thing. I would definitely stop back here on my next visit to Monterey/Carmel. I usually drive out to Carmel when visiting Monterey just because I like the food options more.

It was quite busy outside, but we found a nice spot in the shade. Once we started to order, a lot of the people started to leave and there was only a couple other parties outside. For once I was hungry AND actually able to order while thinking about portion sizes. Normally my eyes are more hungry than my stomach! I had one banana walnut pancake and still couldn't finish it. My partner ordered the breakfast skillet with chorizo, mushrooms, and avocado. Both were exceptionally delicious, and the skillet especially with their homemade bottled pepper sauce. It's available to purchase but they ran out when we were visiting. The pancake had bananas or walnuts in every bite, if not both. The maple syrup was also heated up so it made for a very pleasant experience. I'm normally a savory breakfast gal, but this called to me, and I'm so glad I went with it. And the skillet wasn't that spicy but packed tons of flavor. I could taste some smoke paprika, garlic powder, and a pleasant amount of salt and pepper. We enjoyed our time here, and since the business was slowing down, we were able to chat with our waiter and get some ideas for local spots to try. 10/10, we will be back again! :) Thank you so much!
