Rocky's Cafe was recommended to me by a friend with incredibly good taste, so i'm not surprised that the food here was delicious. We arrived 11am on a Sunday to a very busy restaurant but got sat immediately, we were quickly greeted by our server and served beverages. It gives off family restaurant vibes in the best way. The menu is short, but I can see now that although a large selection is not offered, all their food is high quality breakfast. I ordered the green chilaquiles which came with a side of beans and the most perfect over medium eggs and my partner ordered a breakfast burrito and added chorizo. I have Driven by this place serval times and always wanted to check it out. I realized it was where the old Del Monte Café & grille use to be located and had me kind of curious what this new place was all about? Went in Sunday morning, not packed Wife and I were seated promptly which was very much appreciated. Service on the other hand was fairly slow. Other customers seated 10 minutes after us were waited and served on first before we were. I don't know was that all about but I had also requested a straw for my juice and it was never brought out? Also my coffee was never refilled and my waitress only made minor appearances through out our visit. We did sit outside on the patio area, so I do not know if that was the issue but no because the couple that was served first also sat outside next to us, so go figure? When our food was brought out presentation was fabulous. They do have a few specials that looked very appetizing but I went for the green chilaquiles which was presented very good but lacked the spicy or any flavoring. I must say the pancake I did order as my side was great tasting and fluffy. Would I come here again? Rocky's Café didn't give me a good first experience and the food was nothing special. Came here for lunch. The indoor seating is a small area along with some outdoor seating. The restaurant is clean inside. The staff are friendly. We ordered the crispy fried chicken sandwich and Oliver's fish tacos. The chicken is fried in a tempura batter and comes out crispy but not a heavy greasy coating. I liked the sandwich but I thought it would have more taste to it. Maybe more Rocky's sauce would have helped. On the other hand it wasn't messy to eat and if you want some hot sauce they have 5 to choose from. It is a good sandwich. I liked the crispiness of the seasoned fries. The fish tacos had nicely crispy fish with the right amount of sauce. There is a bit of a spicy note to them. The beans are also very good. Definitely would eat here again. read more

The flavors in this burrito was great. Very well seasoned. Very filling. It comes with pico de gallo inside already but I asked for extra bc that's just my preference. Carnitas skillet special: 9/10 Great flavors, great textures, veggies were fresh. Carnitas was tasty. Melted cheese was a nice touch. Comes with a choice of toast. We chose the English muffin which was roasted and buttered perfectly. Next time if I come I would try the chicken and waffles which seemed like a very popular dish. Just had a perfect burger and chicken and waffles here. We had visited once before for brunch and enjoyed it but just hadn't gotten back for a while. The burger was perfectly cooked and when I put a little pressure on it, you could see the juices dripping out. Fries were crisp and well seasoned. My husband got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was so crisp but still tender inside. The waffle was nice and crisp. They seem to fry fileted chicken breast, so it was easier to eat than if it were bone minor a thick breast. You can get a perfectly proportioned bite. The service was fast and friendly. Prices are in line for the area. The restaurant isn't fancy,but it's clean and pleasant. For the type of restaurant it is, it's a perfect 5 stars. We were in Seaside for the weekend and had been sorely disappointed at another restaurant so we were on the hunt for some good food. When we arrived it was almost closing time so a little empty. We walked in and were greeted and sat right away. The place is really small but has about 10 four tops. We placed the kids order first but it took a bit longer than expected on a slow afternoon. I'm assuming it was bc they were probably getting ready to close. Once our food came it was smooth sailing from there. My chilaquiles were pretty good but a bit salty so I asked for sour cream. Sour cream made it 1000 times better (I would recommend adding that to the meal). The French toast and pancakes were delicious and my husband and son were extremely satisfied. The kids grilled cheese was "the best" my 5yo had ever had. He finished it all! All and all I think we would come back for breakfast/lunch when in the area again. read more

A light, fresh slaw with green sauce dress the tacos and the prawns themselves are lightly battered and quite crisp on arrival. The tortillas seem homemade. On the other end of the spectrum, bf ordered ribs that came with Mac and cheese and coleslaw. We were both really happy to say the least. The ribs were an enormous portion that seemed to be slow oven baked. It was quite tender. The service was lovely and everything came out with impressive attention to detail. Our only complaint would be that the restaurant is a tight squeeze and the table in the back right corner is situated just outside of the bathroom and is a very high-traffic area. They have the best service! We came from the Lantern restaurant in the Monterey hotel and was really disappointed in their service. When we arrived here the people that worked there was so warm and welcoming. We were greeted with a smile, They sat us right away, and food came out quickly. We finally felt relieved and my hungry kids were fed. Food was so good, place is so cute with festive decoration and Christmas music playing. Our server Athena was amazing. She was so friendly, nice and so kind to me and my kids. They even greeted each guests and you could tell they're repeat customers and knows the staff well. Mind you, her little gremlin was barking non-stop while our two large dogs sat like saints. But the staff bent the knee to Queen One-Egg-Special and told us we'd have to wait until she finished her royal breakfast. No exaggeration -- the entire patio came to a halt for her $5 meal while we stood there with $100 worth of appetite and two perfect dogs. The patio itself? Small, noisy, and basically on the side of a highway. Parking? Practically nonexistent unless you enjoy parallel parking under pressure. The real kicker? The staff let one grumpy guest run the place. As much as I wanted to try everything, I kept it basic. We ordered: 1. Chorizo breakfast burrito with house potatoes inside. It also comes with a side of fruit - The burrito was amazing. Perfect balance of chorizo, egg, and potatoes. Nothing gets lost in all the flavor. It was cheesy and not greasy. 2. Bacon and sausage breakfast burrito with hash browns inside - I was a little thrown off that there were bell peppers in it, but it gave it a little crunch and balanced the greasiness of the meat. Our order was fresh, and we didn't have to wait that long. People who worked there were super helpful and nice. They made sure I had all the salsa or hot sauce that we might need for our burritos.
