Cute little hole in the wall diner with some outside seating in the front and some patio space as well. We were initially seated against a wall and discovered that there were ants. Most places can come up with a decent waffle, but finding the perfect chicken is always where it all falls apart, leaving me eternally disappointed and swearing off future gambles. the food is great i really like the chicken sandwich and their breakfast menu. but the experience was truly made by our server, Cindy. She's a true Salvadoreña and hey, representation matters. I think she is related to the owners because she gave the impression that she truly cares and ensured we felt supported and enjoyed our meals. She went above and beyond for my little ones and made sure our cups of coffee stayed topped off. I want to come here daily if I didnt have to work, she made me feel at home and made me miss my family from El Salvador with her warm smile and beautiful welcome, speaking to us in Spanish. I haven't written a review for a while but the chilaquiles are so good I have to write one. I have had so many mediocre plates of chilaquiles in restaurants I stopped ordering them, but today I decided to give them a try at Rocky's and I was not disappointed. I got half red, half green and both sauces were so flavorful and hit the right notes. The tortillas were the perfect consistency - not hard but not soggy. The grilled onion with the eggs was a great addition. And there was a good amount of cotija sprinkled throughout the plate. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in Seaside. read more

We were running errands in the shopping mall, and this place is new and popped up on Yelp as nearby. They have seating outside in front, a covered patio out back, and just regular indoor dining. We opted for indoor. I saw a BLAT coming out from the kitchen for another table and it looked good. I asked about the onion rings I had seen in the Yelp photos (NOT on the menu, BUT ASK ABOUT THEM!) - the ones we got were more like onion string and I would go back for these alone, so friggin good. The BLAT we split, it was also very good, a minor quibble could be that it could have used more bacon - but couldn't we all use more bacon in our lives?? I came for breakfast and from the looks of it, I was the first person to come in. I was seated quickly and the waitress was very attentive. Even the chef came out to speak with me. The diner looked very clean. They do have high chairs for the kids, and the restroom was spotless, but there were stairs leading up to it, so I don't know how it would be wheelchair accessible. As for the food, I got Huevos Rancheros with a side of sausage. It was delicious. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the ranchero sauce was light and balanced. The only thing that worried me throughout my entire meal were the country potatoes. There was such a depth of flavor and a char to them that was outstanding, that it got me thinking that either the chef has some brining method for the potatoes or they were a batch from yesterday. The iced tea was good. The waitress did tell me they do serve chicken and waffles, so I will come back for that! Breakfast was good, service was good. The place is small and cozy, they play good music at a good volume while dining. We had oatmeal (steel cut) with berries -- berries were fresh, the oatmeal not too sweet (excellent) and filling but not overwhelming. The egg breakfast was delicious and the potatoes had a good flavor. It's adorable to have a cafe in honor of a cute little doggy. The decor is thoughtful and convenient -- down to the window separating the back dining area (there is a privacy and anti-glare decoration to block the sun from hitting your eyes on the glass). Very much of a hole in the wall place as the dining room seats maybe 20 as does the small enclosed patio. Seems to be family run place. The Mrs and I both had omelets with hash browns. Both were good to very good. If I had one criticism, the servings were "medium" sized so no leftovers unless you are a light eater. Pricing was fair and service was friendly and efficient. It's easy to drive past this place and not even notice it, but that would definitely be a mistake. I've followed the owners from Alfonso's in Castroville to The Cork and Plough in King City, and now here. I've been three times, and the food has always been solid, but today was by far my favorite experience. I had the prawn tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. The prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked, topped with a salsa that had just the right balance of crunchy, spicy veggies, all wrapped in a handmade tortilla. The side of pinto beans? Come here hungry, because they're serving up huge portions on massive plates. But, with the big serving comes a bit of a hefty price tag. I'd be happier with 30% less food for 30% less the cost, ya know? Service was very attentive and friendly, offered to explain the menus, went over their personal faves, and kept us topped off on coffee! Food came out in just a few minutes as well, very prompt! Breakfast potatoes were great, no complaints there. Plenty of hot sauces on offer, always an easy big thumbs up from me. On this occasion, I went ahead and ordered their Chilaquiles with green salsa and chorizo . And can I just say, I've never had any other better tasting Chilaquiles within the Monterey Peninsula. I also loved how my egg was cooked to perfection, (over medium,) just how I like it. The location seems a little small for a full on restaurant, but they make it work.
