Everything was cooked very well. Just one issue I saw from the moment they brought my plate. The NY Steak was flank, not NY. They grilled the flank, sliced it, and put some salsa on it. But next time, call it "Brazilian-style grilled steak with chimichurri sauce." but don't call it a NY when it is not. read more

This is the best American food I've ever had. The dishes are filling and delicious. Every one of these items was a knockout: Quarter of a rack of ribs with baked mac and cheese and fresh coleslaw. Stack of pancakes with overeasy eggs and home baked potatoes on the side. Breakfast burrito with a plate of fruit. Not pictured: the food was so good we grabbed lunch to go from here as well, creamy chicken alfredo pasta. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. This is a little place I've passed many times and never thought to go in, but we were out and had some time to kill so we went in for breakfast. It was small,, not fancy. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. I had the special, crab cake benedict. It was delicious. My husband had an omelette. The thing that stood out was the freshness and quality of the food. What's there not to like? Ohh the lack of parking that's all. Loved our waiter (wish I'd have gotten his name.) older gentleman, very sweet and attentive. 1 star for service. We never got to try the food. We arrived and were seated outside, waitress brought us menus and that was the end of our contact with staff. We sat outside in the cold with a small child for almost 30 minutes, no one offered to turn the heater on or to take our orders so we left. One of many breakfast/lunch cafes in the Monterey area. My quest is to find the BEST one. This one is in Seaside. For comparison, I usually start with the Classic: Bacon, Eggs, Toast & Hash Browns. The bacon was not crisp (as requested), nor very tasty (would look far another brand/supplier); virtually no smokey flavor. English muffin was served 'soggy', even though toasted. Hash browns (cudos for including them on the menu!) were not crispy on the outside & soft in the middle (as I like them), but rather a melange of soft & crispy potatoes. Not bad, but could be much better. Eggs were eggs (small, sunny side up). SERVICE was great! AMBIENCE was simple and clean - to be expected in a sidewalk cafe. read more

And white girl - server was rude AF. They were slammed with customers so I went up to the counter to get a Togo box and our check. In asking for the check and requesting they remove the French toast the girl snapped I'm not your server so I don't even know what you're talking about it. Did you eat it. Does she know - granted this lady doesn't know my experience but a simple "I'll look into it or of course" would suffice! We originally attempted the Butter House, but the wait was 45-60 mins (no thanks ) and luckily Yelp showed us this option when we searched nearby. Not only did we get right in, but the waitress who seated us immediately asked what drinks we would like upon sitting. These little things are so much more appreciated when eating out with a toddler! We had plenty of time to browse the menu but were not neglected and got our order in within minutes of sitting. The casual ambiance in the back seating area was perfect and comfortable with a kid. Wow! That was an amazing brunch experience. The service was great, the girls were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and the table layout for the restaurant is ideal. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and what we ordered was just that. We shared the berry French toast which was cooked perfect and the fresh fruit on top was extra fresh. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my mom ordered the spicy burger. The shrimp tacos had a good amount of shrimp and were nice and crispy, the toppings and sauce were also fantastic. Side note: I usually don't like beans but the pinto beans were great too! My mom really enjoyed her burger, she loved the crispy jalapeños and truly enjoyed the quality of the beef patty, and of course the french fries which were seasoned and cooked just right.
