4 stars for convenience. This restaurant is located in the Embassy Suites Hotel. We arrived at the hotel after 9 pm and wanted dinner but didn't want to go far. The restaurant looked closed but the bar was still serving so we inquired. Both close at 11:00pm. The restaurant dinner menu included salads, burgers, ramen, meat dishes, appetizers, sweets, and a kid's menu. We ordered the ramen and Cesar Salad with chicken. Both came out in an acceptable amount of time and was decently plated. Taste was average. The ramen was slightly bland. Our server was the bartender. She was friendly and helpful. I have to brag. I've eaten at the fanciest restaurants in the Peninsula. The Silver Tide Bar and Grill at Embassy Suites Monterey, is by far the most delicious food I've ever had. Made with lots of love and tons of flavor. There's no comparison. Best dinner and food in the peninsula. The chowder will blow you away. There's no one out there that makes better chowder. This restaurant inside the Embassy Suites in Seaside really hits above its weight. We've been several times while staying at the hotel, and it is a solid win each time. The servers are always friendly, and the food is surprisingly solid for a hotel restaurant. We particularly like the Caesar salad, clam chowder, and the ribeye. If you have kids who like plain pasta with tomato sauce, look no further - there's a kids menu with just that, as well as the usual chicken tenders and hamburgers. So was here to enjoy the coast must say the restaurant was great the staff was awesome and friendly and very helpful ordered fish and chips on the first night with the cocktail hour and got dinner it was amazing the Fish and Chips were great large 4 pieces with a ton of fries. The ravioli were on point also. I do need to point out that Derrick the Supervisor of the restaurant and bar was amazing he was very helpful with answering our questions about items and drinks on the menu and of course, the bourbon cherries had one hell of a kick to them they were so good and yes he told me how to make them at home. The whole experience on both nights made me want to eat at the hotel restaurant again thanks to him a d his whole staff. Will be back again. read more

I'm sorry. I ate so fast I didn't get pictures. The chicken wings were good but overly topped in celery as decoration. They are the soft skin kind so don't expect a crunch or anything. They are likely presauced in a bag. The chicken Caesar salad was good but be prepared to ask for extra dressing if you like yours wet. The clam chowder was good. A little potato filled, but still yummy. The vegetarian ravioli was amazing. So full of flavor. My son had the kids chicken strips and fries and they gave him a lot of food, he enjoyed it and had more for the room later. My daughter had the noodles with butter and cheese. They put the cheese on the side so at 1 years old of course she enjoyed pouring it on the pasta herself. My husband got the salmon and I instantly felt sad for him. It was grilled with what seemed like a glob of tomato paste on top. The risotto under the salmon was good but overall the plate left a lot to be desired. I'd recommend it. Oh my goodness. I am staying at the Embassy Suites and decided to order room service. I wanted steak and was hesitant on it since I am picky with what I consider a good steak. Wow. Just wow. Not only was the gentleman who delivered it to my door was more than courteous, kind and held great communication and efficiency; the steak was delivered hot, cooked perfectly, and absolutely delicious. Stayed at hotel 12/12-14/2018. Called for food to go and was told they would charge a 10% fee for go-to service! Are you kidding me. Never eating there again! Never heard of such a thing! Room service ok to charge fee but if I have to pick up my own food and use plastic spoons, fork and knife there should be no fee! Talk about trying to nickle and some your patrons. We've eaten at this restaurant a total of 3 times. The first time, we ordered a kids meal to go so our so our kids could enjoy dinner without having to leave the hotel. To be honest, it was a total steal considering we got a giant portion of spaghetti + bread and parm for less than 5 bucks. That was unreal! The next few times, we had some trouble at check in and the manager kindly offered us a credit to the restaurant over our stay to compensate for our troubles. We totally lived it up ordering crab cake salad, filet mingnon and other treats. The food was very good and the presentation was superb. The negatives are that the service takes FOREVER and they don't staff the place very well. However, everyone was nice enough. In a pinch, I think I'd order their room service or take food to go when we needed to eat at the hotel, but otherwise, there's plenty of options nearby. read more

We've starting going here recently after not having been for a while. My opinion is that if you haven't tried it in a while, give it another shot. They don't have a huge menu, but what they have is good, and comes in big portions. I'm a fan of their shrimp quesadillas (you have to ask for the shrimp substitution), and their calamari, but hands down they have amazing clam chowder. I was skeptical too when the server recommended it, but she was right. It's amazing. And that is saying a lot for the Monterey Peninsula. Definitely in my top 1-3 here. The service is good. It's rarely busy, and it's kind of a relaxing place (we prefer the bar area over the restaurant). Give it a try. read more

I stayed here a few years ago and ate room service; I had the filet. I still live in the area and order take out (the filet) a few times a year. It's always very good, seasoned well and it's the closest good steak to my house in Monterey. It's kind of pricey but it tastes great and it's convenient which is why it's a staple on my take-out rotation. read more

As a general rule we don't eat at hotel restaurants. But we were more interested in eating than selecting a restaurant and going out so we stayed in and had dinner at the Silver Tide. We were very pleased with the food and service. We shared a salad, my wife had salmon cakes and I had an order of wings. The portions were large and the food was very good. We had attentive servers and the kitchen produced our meal in short order. The Salinas Valley salad is huge, it's either a full meal or perfect for sharing. Three salmon cakes are accompanied by a kale slaw and there were nine large wings in a hot Buffalo sauce. We enjoyed every bite and have leftovers for a snack. I would eat here again, even if I wasn't staying here. read more

Painful-the whole experience.The young server was a pleasant fella but he just disappeared behind the kitchen door after taking the order. Food took forever, finding the server to get drinks, refills and bread, which they were out of, was worse than irritating. Our Caesar salad with calamari was not even average. The salmon special had a pesto sauce not to my liking at all, which ruined the fish. The rice was weird tasting. We had to pretty much pass on the whole meal and still got a $40 tab with no alcohol. I actually had such terrible service I didn't end up staying more than 20 minutes-- which is almost how long it took for someone to notice my sister and I standing there, and gruffly ask if we "wanted to sit or something". I was about to answer and say yes when he turned his head and began talking to another server, completely cutting me off and ignoring me-- and he didn't even apologize after! Didn't even try the food, but the service alone was so off-putting that all I stayed for was a glass of water. After he brought us waters, the guy disappeared and was nowhere to be seen for literally 10 minutes-- all in all, don't come here. Just don't. I left and went to the Chili's in the same parking lot, spent way less than I would have at the hotel, and got a much better meal with an amazingly friendly waiter. read more
