Came to Monterey with my family to get away from the heat! Went to the aquarium first and it was so busy, so I definitely was feeling hungry after all the walking. Plenty of seating and there's stairs and an elevator through the gift shop to get to the restaurant. Staff is friendly and welcoming, great service and constantly checked in with us. I looked this spot up before coming and was excited to try the clam chowder. We ordered a clam chowder + bread bowl (recommended option for garlic top by our great server!! But I forgot her name), regular bowl of chowder, garlic fries and fried mushrooms. Everything was delicious and came out quickly together. My mom liked dipping the fried mushrooms in the clam chowder and that's actually a good combo!! The chowder is on the creamy side which I like. Tasted fresh and had food flavors! The sourdough bread bowl reminded me of a sort of flaky bakery bread and not so much sourdough (which is totally fine for me). I'm sure the bread bowl without the garlic top tastes just as good too. I forsure want to come back and try other dishes like the pasta or steak!

The service was very good and the food came out fast, our servers and the host were amazing. Ambiance alone is 5 stars because the view was incredible today the least! Gotta be real though the food was just whatever. Specifically the crab bruschetta (not pictured), the pizza, and the fries in the basket. I did enjoy the fried seafood it was very good and so were the sauces. I will say that the price was fair for the location. I'd go back for the view alone.

The sampler appetizer was very nice. I highly recommend getting the sampler, it has lots of different flavors and it's perfect. The pasta was good, but the portion was pretty small. There was a lot of pasta but I feel like there wasn't enough meat. The view was nice because it's upstairs. The service was typical. Overall I give it a 3.5.

I came to this restaurant on a school trip and the staff took such great care of us! The sandwich was super yummy and the fries were so crispy. I loved the views as well :)

We were looking for a little snack that was dog friendly, and they have a special menu! Bring a jacket, because it can get a little chilly. You might spot an otter or two while snacking and sipping while you're sitting outside! I ordered the artichoke hearts and a glass of red wine. Both were ok :) The view and Monterey vibes are better.

Not the most romantic spot -- ambiance is ok -- but ask for the balcony. The Fido menu is expansive but basic for the dogs. The linguini was okay, nothing special but the calamari legs were good. Staff was friendly and bathrooms were clean, parking can be a pain but otherwise all is manageable.

My husband and I chose Louie Linguini's for a date dinner before heading to a comedy show, and overall it made for a really nice evening. We had a reservation but didn't need it, as it was a slow Monday night. We arrived right at sunset, which turned out to be perfect timing. The restaurant is upstairs with tons of windows overlooking the ocean, and we were seated right by one. Between the view and the soft music playing, the atmosphere felt relaxed and a little romantic. The staff was attentive and helpful, answering questions about the menu and offering suggestions without being pushy. I started with a dirty martini, simple and well made. We shared the Gilroy sourdough garlic bread, which had great flavor and a nice garlic kick. Of course, we had to try the clam chowder as our ongoing search for the best continues. It wasn't bad, but it leaned too creamy and lacked that strong clam flavor we were hoping for. With dinner, we shared a Chianti that paired nicely with our meals. I ordered the special lobster ravioli with a petite salmon, and it was delicious. You never seem to get many raviolis when you order them for dinner, but the addition of the salmon made the dish filling and well balanced. My husband ordered the cioppino special. While everything was cooked well and the seafood was fresh, he felt the broth lacked depth. Outside of the shellfish itself, the base came across a bit bland, almost like plain ocean water. Overall, the views, service, and atmosphere really stood out. While a few dishes could use more flavor, it was still an enjoyable experience and a lovely spot for a date night.

As you can see from the pictures my daughter gives the clam chowder 5 stars!! We love coming to Louie Linguinis when we are in Monterey. My family was greeted warmly and sat right away. Our server was attentive and helpful. My husband ordered the Louie Burger, while my daughter and I shared a cup of clam chowder & a chicken pasta. My favorite part about eating here is the large windows where you can watch the ocean. Today we got to watch a couple kayakers come in contact with some dolphins. We will definitely be back.

Good food, clam chowder sourdough bowl is a must try. Pet friendly with a Fido Menu. Server was on point very tentative made sure our puppies were also taken care of. Can't beat the waterfront view. Great location on Cannery Row.

I have a variety of thoughts about Louie Linguini's. Let's start with the location and atmosphere. It's situated in the perfect spot to overlook the water and cannery area. They have mostly indoor seating and a tiny bit of outdoor seating when you first walk up the stairs on the deck. It's very shady here but it's OK. You may wanna bring a long sleeve on a breezy day. The food is average at best. Most of the folks in my party had fish and chips and fried calamari. But we also tried the Alfredo linguine and seafood linguine. The fish and chips were not what I expected from this area. Just not super high-quality or special in any particular way. Lots of small pieces as opposed to a few large pieces. I question that. The seafood linguine on the other hand was quite good. And the calamari was basic calamari, I don't think fresh. What is cool, is that they have a dog menu. So that's nice since many of the visitors, including us, have dogs. Service was pretty spotty I'd say. I think it's because you're outside and they just don't go out there as much.

Louie Linguini's is a great place to eat. We were seated in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated with funny pictures everywhere. The waitress was friendly and very nice when explaining the menu. I ordered the clam chowder in e bread bowl ( delicious, highly recommend) garlic fries are tasty. pizza was tasty and the shrimp pasta too. Great experience.

This spot exceeded my expectations for sure. I was reluctant to give it a try because its located right on the ocean on Cannery Row, so my first thought was tourist trap! They had something for the whole family to enjoy since we can never agree on just one type of cuisine so it was a perfect place to try. We arrived at shift change, too late to be a lunch crowd and too early to be a dinner crowd, the place had a few parties seated and more arrived after us along with a new team of servers. Anyways, I wanted some Clam Chowder and they had a great deal with a salad and a Bowl of Chowder served in a Sourdough Bread Bowl and both were absolutely delicious. The salad was great, with candied walnuts and blue cheese crumbles and a nice balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The chowder was a nice creamy consistency and loaded with clams and chunks of potato. My kid had the cheese pizza and she said it was one of her favorites she has had. She will be talking about how good it was for years. I did try a piece and it was very good pizza, once again pleasantly surprised. My other kid had the tenders with fries which was the only thing that missed the mark. I felt they could have had more seasoning in the breading but overall the meal was good. My wife had the Fettucine Alfredo and once again she really enjoyed it. Very authentic sauce with a decent amount of flavor. I hope I get to make it back to Monterey just so I can try the chowder again and also fresh calamari right out of the ocean. We had a really nice meal at Louie Linguini's, and hope you give it a try also. Enjoy!!!

Is this kid friendly? Do they have highchairs? Can we park strollers?

    Yes

    Do they accept walk ins?

They do, but with nicer weather here, there are a lot more tourists dining out. We walked in yesterday and had to wait 60 minutes.

    Dog friendly on the patio?

Yes! There were multiple dogs when we went. The staircase from the water side leads directly to the patio so no need to walk through the busy restaurant with Fido.

We've been coming here for years and I've never, not once, been disappointed. Everything about Mezzaluna is amazing. Mezzaluna's a fairly small restaurant so I always book a reservation. They have a smallish, but very nice, lounge area if your table isn't ready or you're just showing up for a drink. Their staff is beyond friendly and their bartender knows how to make a cocktail. The prices, in my opinion are very reasonable and the portions are what you'd expect. I RARELY, if ever, take home leftovers but this is one of my few restaurant leftover exceptions. I almost always get Rigatoni alla Buttera and my wife the Al Nero con Vongole but not always. Everything we've ever had on the menu is amazing. All the pasta is made fresh in house, and you can taste it. I've eaten at every Italian restaurant in Carmel, and sure Taylor Swift didn't eat here, but I'm glad she didn't. I want this place to be sucessful but I also want to keep this gem out of the Hollywood spotlight. This place stand on its own without needing that kind of notoriety. Restaurants like this let the food, which is what their, they're for do the talking. A few small notes for those who may not have dined here before: 1) Outside seating is right next to highway 68. So that's not the most "awesome" outdoor dining experience, but it is what it is right, but worth a note. 2) The parking lot can be a bit crowded so depending on the night, plan a little extra time to possibly have a small walk if the lot's full. 3) LOCAL/HACK! They have an awesome wine list (for in house dining or to take home). Their prices are VERY VERY good. BUT, the cool thing is if you bring a bottle of wine, and buy one from them, they will waive the corkage fee for that one bottle.

That tells you she's tried everything! The pacing of our food was perfect, giving us time to enjoy our appetizers before our dinner entrees arrived. They also didn't skimp on warm bread and olive tapenade. It was so good! But don't eat too much because their dinner portions are big. We ordered: San Vitor: My beautiful handcrafted pineapple cocktail. Delicious. Smoky. Strong. Clam Chowder: Omg! The presentation was amazing!! The chowder can stand all by itself with its flavor and real clams in shells - but with the bone marrow? Stop!! I die! Polpo Alla Griglia: Cooked perfectly with fantastic flavors. The sauce had kick! The potatoes were cooked well. Honestly, it was difficult to decide what to order for dinner because everything was described so deliciously on the menu. I wanted to try them all. The biggest hit was that their pasta is made in-house and cooked right! We ordered: CAPPELLACCI DI GRANCHIO - Excellent dish! It was a hit according to my hubby. Also recommended by our waitress. Filled with real crab and lots of it. RAVIOLI DI MAIS - simple corn ravioli but so wonderful. The corn filling was sweet yet savory. PAPPARDELLE CON BOLOGNESE DI MAIALE - Fantastic! It's like eating a fancy lasagna with amazing flavors. That burrata on top was so creamy. I had the special which was salmon and mushroom on green pasta. I don't know what it was called exactly but it was fabulous!!! The mushrooms sang, the flavors were well-balanced, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared the Flourless Chocolate Cake with a scoop of Pistachio Gelato. I died a second time during this meal. What a fantastic way to end our fabulous meal! I need to return and try more dishes. Seriously. Is it too soon to come back the next day?

Gusto is one of the few truly scratch-made Italian restaurants that specializes not only in pizza, pasta, and sauces, but also features an old-school brick, wood-fired pizza oven. Hell, they even make their own mozzarella! They have not only caught the eye of locals and Yelpers, but have also managed to earn a recommendation in the current Michelin Guide. The Good: * Private parking lot, as well as street parking. * Fabulous service from Alex! * Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality. * Local beers on tap. * Strawberry Prosciutto Salad (seasonal special) was fantastic! Who knew strawberries paired so perfectly with salty, cured prosciutto and pistachios? This might not be on the menu all the time, but if you see it, get it! * Complimentary focaccia was unbelievably soft and delicious. As if it couldn't get any better, their olive tapenade served alongside it was equally delicious, making for an unbeatable duo. * The Margherita pizza is the ultimate test of a pizza restaurant--and they passed with flying colors! It's so simple that if something isn't right, it'll be easy to spot, but everything from the homemade mozz to the slightly charred crust and the delicious sauce made this the perfect pie. I give it a score of 3.14159265359...! The Meh: * Meatballs were a touch too tough and could've been a bit more tender. They were still fuçking delicious, so honestly, who cares? The Ugly: * Despite the name, Seaside isn't the most glorious place, and this location is downright sus AF. Conclusion: Maybe one of the best meals so far of 2026.
