Sprinkles time! Located at Irvine Spectrum across from Regal movie theaters. I have always liked Sprinkles cupcakes but recently had an ongoing craving for them. I feel like over time the cupcakes have gotten smaller and much sweeter and more expensive (now it's $5.50). I tend to get their red velvet and strawberry flavor. I saw their new candy apple one but didn't have the stomach for a third cupcake. I like how you can order ahead on their app for easy pickup. But you still have to tell an employee that you are here for a pickup and she still takes awhile to grab your order.

    Free birthday cupcake (strawberry flavor)

It's been a really long time since I've had a Sprinkles cupcake. I got a free strawberry one for my birthday recently. The flavor of the strawberry icing tasted pretty natural and it was moist and delicious. I remember the sizes of the cupcakes used to be humongous when they first opened many years ago. Now they are pretty small now in comparison. All in all can't complain about a free birthday dessert.

I visited this location the day before thanksgiving and was surprised when I entered the store that no one was there. I looked around and attempted to use the self-checkout kiosk and when I was almost finished one the workers came to greet me. 5-7 min later. She was super nice and suggested I get the Vietnamese coffee cupcake it was that or the gluten free blueberry lemon. To be honest, I didn't like the flavor of the cupcake. I should have gone with something tried and true, like the red velvet or the blueberry lemon. Luckily, this was the last day to redeem my birthday cupcake, so I didn't have to pay for it. I took a bite when I went home and basically discarded the rest. i swear it was a full moon. 0/3 for 3 different spots, food choices, and experience. I may just stick to the Newport beach location, or with flavors I know. Lesson Learned.

I love Sprinkles! I try not to eat their cupcakes often, only twice a year or so because they are way too tempting! We visited the Irvine Spectrum location and they are never very busy. When we went in, we were able to order right away and I like that they have most every flavor, even in the later evening. Clean, bright area, on the smaller side, but since its to go, not an issue at all. So many great flavors to choose from! I went with the box of 4, and at around $20 that is a great deal! We tried the Vietnamese coffee, red velvet, strawberry and vanilla. Is it my imagination or did the cupcakes get smaller?? Still fresh and delicious but I do believe they aren't as big. I didn't even get a photo of the cupcakes before we all started digging in. Ooops!

So, sugar free red velvet cupcake? Yah, it's good.

We've been trying to lessen our sugar intake and quickly found out how massively difficult it is to find sugar-free dessert options at bakeries. Since we were going to be in the Irvine Spectrum area anyway, I figured why not find out what's available there. My "research" led me to this place and the one option they offer--Sugar free Red Velvet Cupcake. The cake itself with the frosting is said to be made with sugar substitutes. Ok, let's try it out. Yup, it's quite good. Just the right amount of "sweetness" and I really like the cream cheese frosting. The texture is soft and not dry. There is an "s" at the top which is technically edible, but I'd skip it. For the sugar free seeker though, highly recommend. The only downside, it is pricey...but like expectedly so--I mean, with the franchise name and location. Tip: order ahead (there were many to-go orders ready because it ensures you'll get the flavor and options you're looking for.) The lady that gave us our pick-up order was friendly and efficient--that's all we expected and received. The outside of the Sprinkles building is cute, the inside is small but also cute. And it always smells nice. Oh, and if you're not needing a sugar free option, congratulations, they have some solidly good cupcakes with a variety of flavors for you! :-)

We ordered 5 cupcakes via DoorDash and they were fantastic. The coffee and coconut cream were filled with a custard and they made the cupcake so moist and flavorful. The ones that were not filled were really good cupcakes, but probably not the best I've ever had. I also enjoyed that the cakes were not just smacking you in the face with sugar like most cake places. These cakes were more flavor forward than sugar forward.

Love Sprinkles cupcakes! My favorite is the red velvet. It is the fluffiest with the yummiest cream cheese frosting. The banana, vanilla and chocolate are also delicious. I have been wanting to order a Sprinkles cake ever since I saw it on their website. We ordered the confetti cake and were disappointed. I was told that it was the same as the cupcake, but after eating it I have to admit that it is nothing like the cupcake. The cake was a big disappointment. It was dry and way too sweet. We ordered it for my birthday and there were plenty of leftovers. Every time I get the cupcakes, they are always gone. HAPPY SPRINKLING!!

Always quality cupcakes and very clean inside! The red velvet cupcake will always be my favorite one!! Also got a pupcake and my dog didn't really like the frosting, it was also very hard.

I love Sprinkles cupcakes. Their red velvet and GF red velvet are the best around. The cake is fluffy and moist and the frosting is a beautiful touch. I often order via their app and do in-store pick up. It's always been fast and easy. That said, I recently saw that they now offered mini cupcakes so decided to get two dozen of those instead of a dozen of their normal sized cupcakes... and they look like store bought cupcakes that should be sold for no more than $10 a dozen. I'm so disappointed. Two dozen mini cupcakes here are $50. Take a look at my pic and I'll let you be the judge on whether these are worth it. Will stick to the normal sized cupcakes now for our special occasions.

The sprinkles at the Irvine location doesn't seem to get as much attention as the one in CDM, but maybe thats just because I went here during the week. I ordered online for pickup just around the time the limited edition strawberry shortcake cupcake was available. The location was clean, and more spacious than the one in CDM. They had a nice shelf for pick up orders (or at least I think that's what it's for). There are more cupcakes here than the CDM location, so I doubt they have to deal with running out of certain flavors throughout the day. Definitely come here if you're in Irvine or more south OC.

    Sprinkles Cupcakes - Happy Mother's Day! :)

I have been craving for sprinkles for so long finally got it for Mother's day yay!! It wasn't that busy surprisingly but maybe cause everyone was shopping and doing their Mother's Day thing but I was craving my daughter wanted the sprinkles one so I got two of those, 2 red velvets, a strawberry, black and white and banana. The service was great I had them keep the box open so I could get a photo of course :) awesome service very friendly and super clean. It's a bit far for me which is why I don't get to get sprinkles often but when I do it's such a treat for me. Thank you for great and fast service! Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

Vegan Red Velvet, Lemon Blueberry (someone ate it before I could take a pic), Strawberry, and sprinkles
    Krystle A.

I use to love sprinkles and it's still pretty good just kinda pricey-4 cupcakes came out to about $22. This location is across the regal cinemas and the alley boba in the Irvine spectrum. The service from the front desk girl was appropriate she was friendly and thorough. We did have to order from one of the two iPads in the front so it was kind of easy to do. My personal favorite has always been red velvet and banana and of course both were sold out lol we got the lemon blueberry one, sprinkles, strawberry and the vegan red velvet. Place is clean, no seating area inside but outside there are some Chairs with tables under an umbrella.

I finally made it to the Sprinkles location at the Spectrum! My birthday was this past month and I got an email with my birthday cupcake offer. Since we were at the Spectrum for dinner nearby, my husband and I went to redeem my birthday promo. I almost ordered in the app but it was only available 20 minutes later so I asked the cashier for assistance. She was super helpful and rang me up at her register so I didn't need to order at the iPad screen. I went with a Salted Caramel cupcake and DH got the Vanilla Milk Chocolate cupcake. Service was super fast and friendly. The cupcakes were as good as I remember.

I hate to be a negative Nancy because I love desserts and always love to give little shops their dues but unfortunately not this place. I had to run into the ups store next door so decided to stop in this cute little cupcake shop and bring home dessert. I bought 6 "Regular" sized cupcakes for $28! $28 for 6 ACTUAL little tiny cupcakes. They look like minis but are not. It seems like they were trying to make them super moist but all that moisture made the cupcake attach itself to the wrapper. Truly took away half the cupcake. (See photos) also because of this forced "moistness" it made the cupcake very dense. The icing is your typical sugary icing (not my fav) but understand most people like it. Save yourself the $28 and buy your cupcakes from Ralph's bakery. So much better tasting, bigger and cheaper unfortunately. I am giving this place two stars rather than one because of the very sweet young girl at the counter that was helpful and kind.

Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. After leaving lunch nearby, I passed by the Newport Beach location and decided it was finally time to give it a try. First impressions were honestly really good. Parking was super easy because they have an open lot, which immediately made the experience less stressful. The bakery itself is also really pretty inside. It has that classic, clean bakery aesthetic that feels warm and inviting without being overly trendy. Everything looked fresh and well displayed, and the atmosphere definitely gave "treat yourself after lunch" energy. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming when I came in. One thing I genuinely liked was that they cut the cake slices fresh in front of you instead of having them prepackaged and sitting out. It made everything feel fresher and a little more personalized, which I appreciated. I decided to try the funfetti cake because I feel like that's such a classic flavor and usually a pretty safe choice. It's simple, nostalgic, and honestly hard to mess up. Unfortunately, this just wasn't for me. The biggest issue for me was the texture. The cake itself was very dense and heavier than I expected. I usually like funfetti cake to feel soft, fluffy, and light, especially paired with buttercream frosting, but this one felt more compact and rich than I personally prefer. The icing also had a grainy texture that really stood out to me. I'm not sure if that's just their style of frosting, but it didn't have the smooth, creamy texture I usually look for in cake frosting. That being said, if you like a denser, richer style of cake, this honestly might be the perfect bakery for you. It just personally is not my preference. I tend to prefer lighter cakes with smoother frosting, so I think this came down more to taste and texture preferences than the bakery doing anything "wrong." Flavor-wise, it wasn't terrible by any means, but it just didn't wow me, especially considering how much I've heard people rave about SusieCakes. I kept comparing it in my head to Magnolia Bakery, which for me personally has softer cake texture and frosting that I enjoy a lot more. That said, I still think the bakery itself is worth visiting at least once because the customer service was great, the space was beautiful, and the experience overall was pleasant. I just personally didn't enjoy the actual cake as much as I hoped I would. Overall, I'd probably come back to try a different flavor before fully writing the place off, but based on the funfetti slice alone, it wasn't my favorite.

However, after a few minutes, it still wasn't that gooey and the inner core was still pretty tough. Perhaps they could have warmed it up so that it was evenly softened. Overall, the cinnamon roll was alright. It was a brioche roll so you would think it might be lighter and fluffy, but ours was pretty dry. However, the cream on top was insanely good. It carried the roll. The hazelnut twist was kind of what you would expect. A twisted pastry but with a hefty amount of hazelnut-chocolate spread thru the layers. We sat in a little nook, where there was a magnetic black board, where there were word tiles you could rearrange in any way. It was a nice place to just look around at all the sentences the community wrote. Chess tables were also available as extra seating. Overall, the service was good, but could be better when warming up pastries, so that the customer can enjoy them properly!
