    Honey Dijon salmon bowl
    Nancy C.

I loved trying Springbone Kitchen! Any place that has healthy, sustainable, and of course yummy food is a win in my book. My mom and I went in for lunch and got two immunity broths. I didn't love the flavor of the broth, but I got it for the health benefits and drank it quickly. My mom did enjoy the broth, though. We both agreed that it tasted very nutritious. I ordered the Mexican bowl and subbed the chicken for salmon. Everything in the bowl was delicious. I loved the rice, the salmon was cooked well (and a good portion size), and the sauce was great. It was simple, yet delicious and healthy! My mom ordered honey Dijon salmon as well and really enjoyed it. The inside of the restaurant was nice as well and not too crowded. I also appreciate that they have a nice big bathroom, which can be rare in Georgetown. Food was out quickly as well! I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

The manager told him "you are wrong, it is great, everyone likes it"... I didn't know that managers were supposed to operate off of their personal bias and tell the customer they're wrong for having certain taste preferences (the latte sucked and tasted like artificial almond syrup). He finally agreed to swapping it after my husband asked "aren't you as a manager supposed to take feedback from the customer?" This place is always packed and there's never anywhere to sit anyways. Don't bother going, you won't be able to understand any of the employees (if you speak English) and you might get screamed at if you don't like your drink. Maman, you should really educated your management on customer service! It's crucial to your business model and you have just lost a customer for life

Decided to do a little bit of a late lunch, and boy was it good. -bbq lamb shoulder pita - absolutely delicious -crispy falafel - my favorite falafel spot is a hole in the wall in brooklyn ny, but this was quite good, needed more feta and red shatta yogurt though, and a pinch of onion. -smoked amba chicken - look, i'm not a chicken guy at a spot like this, but wow was this good, and likely the favorite of the three. The space itself is nice, the water area gets very crowded though because people are waiting for their food. Setup could be a smidge different, as even employees had a difficult time. Not my logistical problem though. I would easily recommend coming here.

This time I ordered the Halawa Honey which was a bit too sweet, but it was a nice twist of flavor and you could taste the tahini. My friend ordered the Baklawa Mocha which was a little too icy and I felt had too much milk. It drowned out the other flavors which was a bit disappointing.

We were sat down quickly since it wasnt crowded for a sunday evening. The servers were helpful with the menu. We ordered about 10 minutes into our visit. We ordered appetizers to include Taiwanese popcorn chicken, spicy wontons, and cucumber salad. We also ordered our meals, too. A beef lamen, pork soup dumplings, crab and pork soup dumplings, and I originally wanted the fried chicken curry lamen but he talked me against it due to spice level and I opted for the sake chicken, per his recommendation. The soup dumplings came out abt 15 min later at which I was told that the cucumber salad was sold out and asked if I wanted anything else. I passed since I had ordered the popcorn chicken already. My friend wasnt a fan of her pork soup dumplings and didnt finish them at all. She stated a severe lack of flavor. The crab/pork ones were a hit for the other friend. I cant eat pork nor beef, so I was still sitting and waiting for my popcorn chicken appetizer to hold me off a bit. About another 20 minutes passed then the beef lamen came out for one friend and then an order of the curry lamen. We were confused on if this was our actual order until he realized that he wrote down the wrong dish for me after I explained that he told me to get the sake chicken instead. He apoligized but by this point, I hadnt had food in roughly 6 hours, I was starving and asked to keep the wrong order, please. He refused and said he would get me the correct item because it's just in the back. Keep in mind that the spicy won tons were still missing and so was my popcorn chicken. About 10 minutes later, the spicy won tons finally made it and she enjoyed them more than her pork soup dumplings. Then the other server comes to tell me that there is more cucumber salad. Im not sure how we go from sold out to availability nearly an hour later but I still refused since I was ready for my main entree at this point. The other friend ended up ordering it instead. She said it was good. I didn't try out of frustration of how this experience was unfolding for me. My entree finally came out after another 15 or so minutes, which meant it acrually was NOT sitting in the back and ready. Im exhausted. Im starving. Ive sat here and watched my table eat while my orders were fumbled for some odd reason. The sake chicken was okay. Its really like katsu chicken with a ton of yum yum and eel sauce over a bed of rice. Best way to explain it. I probably would have enjoyed the original curry dish more. About another 10 minutes later, my popcorn chicken arrives, which beyond upset me because I asumed this order wasnt put in at this point. It had been over an hour! I gave it to my friend instead after trying one and not enjoying the flour-heavy taste. I'm not sure if this was an off night or what but I cant say that I will return just from the sheer time it took to get our orders! An hour and half was beyond ridiculous when the place wasnt even full. No one explained the delays nor came to give us updates while we were waiting, either. I gave them a star for the food being half enjoyed by some of my party and another for pricing because it really wasnt expensive, which was a plus. If you have hours to spare and dont arrive hungry, check this place out!

Yesterday we got a table and I now understand why the restaurant is so popular besides being known the place where JFK proposed to Jackie. The host and waiter were very friendly and efficient. From the entire restaurant watching the Kentucky Derby and cheering for that to singing happy birthday along with a table celebrating. It was so fun last night. Lastly and most importantly, a restaurant must serve delicious food and they nailed it! We had oysters, pork chop and seafood pasta. I can tell the recipe and preparation were superior than the typical pork chop (w/truffle oil) and seafood pasta (w/capers) at other average restaurants. Also the cocktails were very good. Everything was excellent and we can't wait to come back!

I made RSVP for this Korean restaurant on a Sunday evening...and it was bustling!…read more Despite RSVP for the main room, we got seated in an extended part of the room (more like an indoor patio?)...so frankly, the ambiance was a bit off for me. So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.
