The shrimp in the traditional spring roll was fishy and one, maybe two in the entire roll. Other than fishy tasting, the roll was bland and the vegetables were wilted. The NM egg rolls were weak, as well. Tasted like a store bought frozen egg roll. At least the green chile sauce had some flavor and a tiny amount of heat to it. Otherwise, the NM egg roll would have been inedible. The chile shrimp crackers were the only tasty part of my $15 meal. Great service, Great food. Think of Subway, but for spring rolls. You can add whatever you want, or ask for a traditional recipe. They have trendy add ins like hot Cheetos for crunch, but they also offer healthy choices, such as using either a brown rice wrap, or having your roll made with a lettuce leaf. My husband and I ordered the shrimp, chicken, and tofu spring rolls, and an order of the Mac and cheese egg rolls. All of the meat was seasoned perfectly and their peanut sauce is great! This place is GREAT! Let me tell you why: First, Spring Rolls: we ordered the traditional and the pork sausage spring rolls. Instantly prepped rice paper, delicious shrimp and pork sausage, fresh veggies with some spicy duck sauce makes for a mouth-watering, good-sized roll! Each order comes with 2 rolls. You definitely get some bang for your buck. We ordered some pork egg rolls, fresh out of the fryer, with sweet chili dipping sauce... these were also fantastic. Next, Customer Service: every single employee present was fantastic. They knew what the one right before was doing, they worked together to take care of the enormous group that was present, and they had a smile on their faces the entire time. While waiting in line, Depot handed out samples of egg rolls (which prompted me to order them... smart man...), made sure everyone was doing okay, and filled in wherever he could, whether it was in the line making rolls, checking out people, running over to the Paleta Bar to help there, or checking on guests seated outside. I feel like this place is a good concept, but there's still room to up it's game. All in all I was happy with my snack-sized meal, which is just what I was looking for. I was there on a weekday just before 5pm so it was pretty empty. The woman behind the counter was cheerful and friendly as she tirelessly explained all the options to me. I was relieved it wasn't busier because each stage of building an order of spring rolls required lots of decisions. I wish they had a wider menu of suggested combinations - they do have some but then, if you're like me, you'll want to try the jalapeños (delicious!) and spicy Cheetos (meh, I'd rather have them on their own, mine got soggy in my roll) and egg roll chips (yum!). I chose to pick my own combination and ended up with a mix of everything. It was good, but not amazing. Probably my own fault for wanting everything. I don't combine flavors in a surprising or delightful way, probably because I'm not a chef. To drink I had the grass jelly. It was fantastic. I'm not really a fan of soy milk but the kind they use doesn't even taste like soy - more like a yummy condensed milk. I wish there was a "meal" option that was healthier. I work a sedentary job and don't want to look it, so adding egg rolls and shrimp chips to a spring roll order isn't something I'd order for a "meal." There are a lot of other options they could offer to make an order of spring rolls into a meal - something in the salad category would be nice. I feel like the people who work here probably have some badass roll combinations they make for themselves. I want to know what those are. There was definitely a language barrier or something happening. I ordered items off the menu that were not a customization option, however, I was still asked what type of meat, noodle, veggies... I was very confused since what I ordered was clearly defined what its contents were on the menu... The rolls were not wrapped very well, so they fell apart after the first bite. This is a cute little place. Sometimes you crave just spring rolls or egg rolls. But you don't want to go to an actual restaurant just to order their appetizers. This was that great sandwich place last time I was here, but it has to compete with Weck's next door. That's a hard thing to beat. I went for the pho, but stayed for the triple bombproof with a mini-pho, spring roll and egg roll. Everything is very fresh, and I kind of wish I'd ordered more pho because it was super delicious. I added jalapeños and lime. Mine came with rice noodles and my sister ordered the vermicelli noodles. We agreed it was delicious and kept eating. They serve Coke Zero, and a lot of different drinks. I tried this restaurant recently for the first (and only) time. My friend ordered the rare beef pho and I ordered the vegetarian. I was a little put off that the server didn't change his gloves after handling the raw meat, and went straight into all the "fresh" veggies. We each ordered egg rolls, they all went into the same fryer (which I don't mind) but clearly they couldn't tell them apart after that. I bit into my "vegetarian" egg roll and there was a huge piece of pork in it *gag*. I haven't eaten meat in over 12 years, I lost my appetite immediately.
