We decided to eat somewhere we rarely eat at and haven't be to for a long time. So here we are. Simple order bean & cheese and chorizo & egg burrito. It was delivered as ordered. Bean & cheese had decent taste. But the tortilla was excessively thick. I ended up unwrapping the burrito and eating the beans separately. The chorizo and egg was similarly wrapped, the egg was dry. Salsa was needed to add moisture. Surprising because chorizo is generally fatty so there should be some moisture. There was a good amount of chorizo in the eggs. However it lacked any real flavor. 2/23/25 My daughter and I love TC, however on this visit we both ordered street tacos, our favorite, however the tortilla where toooo thick, dry and rubbery. The street tacos usually come wrapped with 2 tortilla's, I ended up removing one of the tortilla's and they where still not up to par! Not the normal, it appears the recipe has changed. Prior to today every time we have been to this location we are leaving the airport and have an hour drive home so we pick up something in the drive thru... today we went inside! There was a car line around the building... however, inside we were assisted right away! Everyone was very nice and helpful. There was a lady making tortillas that you can watch while you wait... the tables were clean and there is a salsa bar! The bathrooms were clean and had a baby changing table. At our table folks at fajita chicken nachos, potato, egg and cheese bowl, and carne asada street taco plate with rice. The food was so much better inside! The aesthetics of the food are somewhat lost in the drive thru and you don't get the full experience. I normally go to Taco Cabana because the food is always great but this time the food was a nightmare! I ordered a pound of barbacoa for take out and once I got home I was shocked when I opened the box! At first I thought that maybe I had just gone through a moment of vision loss but it turns out that this is what you'll receive when you order a pound of barbacoa. It almost looks like the cooks saw a scrambling rat in the kitchen, grabbed it, bashed it, prepped it and threw it on the grill then proceeded to serve it, this is absolutely ridiculous. The worst part is this food wasn't given to me for free, I HAD TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY OWN POCKET, that being said I should receive what I'm paying for! Spent almost $60 ordering from postmates only to receive cold, nasty food - which was 20 min late and almost everything was wrong. I won't hold this against postemates, I was just very annoyed that I waited for a late order when nothing was even good or right. Ordered nachos that were supposed to have ground beef, pico, guac, sour cream & jalapeños. Nachos I received were just shredded chicken and queso. Drove up to their drive through and was greeted by a friendly voice. Sometimes going through any drive through makes it hard to understand the other person on the speaker or they talk way too fast and you feel rushed. Well not today! Their employee was not only friendly but also attentive and concise. My order was perfectly packaged and he even added extra salsa. I ordered a 1/2lb of their beef fajitas for my sister and I and the Chile Relleno platter for my husband. The fajitas were tender and flavorful. They come with Spanish rice and charro beans and they even pack a full dish with guac, lettuce, sour cream and tomatoes. My husband loved the Chile relleno plate. I'll start by saying I eat at taco cabana far more than I should and I love the food. I usually go to the locations on Unser or San Mateo. I strongly dislike the Coors location. The inside is routinely dirty. The lat time we ate inside, almost all of the tables were empty and somehow all of them were dirty. This time I went through the drive thru and got a burrito that they didn't even try to wrap properly. I don't know if this is a different owner or if the manager of this store doesn't expect the quality of other locations but I have had enough bad experiences that I'll avoid this location. read more

Probably the worst location in ABQ. I have come 3 times, once it was 9:30 and they were "closed" is what the guy in the drive through said and we had to wait in line to just get out. 2nd time went fine other than being rushed to order. 3rd time I asked for salsa at the window so that they didn't have to run inside if it wasn't already in the bag. It in fact was not, lady who was running the food out to the car in front of me and to me, seemed annoyed. I asked her for salsa. she was coming back out anyways and I asked before hand to avoid them having to go back and forth. The lady in front of me was not happy because the worker did give the guest some pretty major attitude about her making sure she brought back the right items. She brought me one salsa... I'm supposed to share a small salsa I guess is what she planned on. The lady in front of me was standing out of her vehicle because she was not happy about the way she was being treated and she was absolutely right because I heard the girl and I would have been upset especially after my order took a while on top of coming out incorrect. This place was truly a letdown. My husband and I used to visit the TC in San Antonio, TX and it was fabulous. This is the 2nd time that we visited TC in Albuquerque, NM and it's safe to say that we won't visit again. First off, TC didn't add cheese on my husband's fajita street taco platter. The guacamole, sour cream , etc were child-sized. There weren't any grilled vegetables either. I'm vegan and had my heart set on the beyond meat bowl. It was advertised on a sign no doubt inside. I was told no we don't have it here. So why is this even advertised inside as you walk up to order?! I asked for a black bean burrito because the refried beans aren't vegetarian friendly. The employee asked another employee cooking if there were any black beans.. Black beans are a staple so they should have them. Our food came out but the portions were small and didn't have a lot of flavor. Next! BTW there are no drink refills probably due to Covid-19 and they DO NOT scan their own TC app. Also don't expect a military discount here. Second time I came here, first time I did the drive thru. This time we decided to go inside 'The Original Taco Cabana Mexican Patio Cafe'. Pretty looooooooooooong name for a little place. I had the Quesidila with shrimp and 2 smoothies; the strawberry and a banana one (I am going to gain a couple of pounds on this trip). The food is good, service is kinda sloppy. They have this little tortilla maker machine, behind glass so you can see how them tortilla's are made (you know just like Krispy Kreme, just smaller). Just went to the new taco cabana and got a bean and cheese tostada and burrito. The test data as you can see from the picture is a hot mess with the beans not even spread all over the tostada shell. I was really looking forward to this opening on the west side only to be greatly disappointed! UPDATE: after this review, I was contacted by their corporate office, and they sent me 2-$5dollar certificates to use at my next visit. Well..... I decided to give it a second chance and just went there. When I presented the five dollar certificates, I was told they are a franchise and do not accept them (by a manager or owner?) that they (certificate) are for the Texas location only.
