Mom and pop shop that sells out fast but the sticky rice is AMAZING! and the chicken is to die for. Not an eat-in restaurant, take-out only! The owner and workers are also always so friendly! read more

This place is such a hidden gem. The service is awesome. The food is delicious. The restaurant is super clean. They only do take out orders call in or in shop. Some of the best food for the price and it's healthy. I highly recommend coming here. I believe the hours are 10am-12pm. Best bang for the buck it's less than $10 for this plate. read more

Really affordable lunch. Honestly the chicken is just OK (I got the #1 combo, maybe I should've gone for #4), but you get a lot of meat for just $9 and the sauce is pretty tasty. read more

Might be my new favorite place! Prices are good ($7.95 for the boneless honey chicken, rice, and broccoli) and it was enough for 3 meals. My coworker is the one that brought me lunch and also got me the Thai iced tea and the mango with sticky rice. Everything tasted and smelled good. My coworker got the fried rice and got a huge styrofoam container full. Only downside is that they're not open for dinner. 2024 #44 read more

I've stopped here a couple of times, believing that they were still open at 3 PM. They weren't open. Apparently they close at 2 PM or when they run out of chicken. I had forgotten about the place until it was mentioned on Reddit. Today, I went at 11 AM; opening time. There was already a line forming. I got lemon grass chicken with noodles. Partner got honey chicken with rice. Both are delicious! I didn't taste the lemon grass. No matter, it's delicious. The honey chicken was sliced. I liked it the best. Noodles and rice are very tasty too. The portions are huge; it's a cheap meal. The sauce doesn't add any thing for me as it's just hot. This is take-out only. Food comes quick. Owner is friendly. Glad I went! A true hole in the wall gem. read more

I walked by this place on a discovery walk to see what places were close by to my new office. I have gone in here twice now and have been pleasantly surprised each time. Food here is mostly a first come, first served in terms of options, but everything I have tried is delicious. Service is quick and pretty much everything is to go, making it a very fast easy lunch stop if you forgot lunch, need something fast, or just want to try something fresh/new. There are tables here, but they don't seem to be used or to really do indoor dining. Highly recommend and get there on the earlier side if you want options! read more

I went to this place because I have weekdays off and I wanted to see if this taste like gai yang. I was not disappointed. I had the two leg quarters on sticky rice. The chicken was moist and delicious. The sauce that comes with the chicken is sweet and spicy but good. Gai yang sauce is more on the sweet side. The service was fast and the restaurant is a to go place. I enjoyed the food and hope that you will try it out. I went back and tried the 5 honey chicken. I love the kai ping or gai yang better. I talked to the owner and he told me that this is Laotian street food. I wish they opened on weekends, but I understand that people have to rest. The only ping kai in ABQ. This is my go to place for chicken. This is a take out only place. read more

Good service and good value for great food. They seem to be popular as the food sells out promptly.

Great quick service! The food is super tasty and they make it so quick! We went in for a quick lunch and learned they weren't offering inside seating, which was disappointing, but we came back to the office and enjoyed it! The store is a little old and the ambience isn't really built for inside seating anyway, so we really didn't lose out on much. I got the lemongrass chicken with sticky rice and it was so tasty and was cooked very well! The chili sauce it came with really cleared my sinuses but I couldn't stop eating it. Great experience! read more

Updated review: Friday November 3, 2023 Finally able to visit this place. I asked the staff and she confirmed their hours are 10am-2pm so Yelp hours are wrong. As for the food, I can't review it because I'm vegetarian but my friends really enjoyed the food and said it was delicious. The store is small and offers to go orders only, no dine in at this time. The service was extremely quick, we paid and by the time we stepped aside for the next customer, our order was ready. ---- Wednesday November 1, 2023 Updated hours on Yelp from a week ago says they're open until 5pm. I stopped by at 2:20pm today and doors were closed and the inside were full of boxes. I'm starting to doubt this place is still open. Apparently on Google it's 10am-2pm. So they need to get that updated on here. It's frustrating when the hours are unclear and business hours aren't followed. Review will be updated if I ever manage to actually visit this place. read more

Good lunch place. Get there early because they do run out of certain dishes. Great sticky rice and chicken. Also, great chicken noodle soup. It's a small spot. Take out only but fast. No indoor seating since Covid. read more

If you live close by, you forgot your lunch, and you want something cheap, this might fit the bill. It's close, it's cheap, and it's not offensive. I would not, however, travel any distance to eat here. This is more like you have a family that has figured out a formula that they can pull off in a semi-restaurant kitchen, and that they are selling as much as possible of. The problem is that the formula demands no real effort or attention. The food here is about as bland as you can get--which for Lao food is kind of strange/shocking. No heat, no spices, no contrasts, nothing--and this includes the sauces which are uncannily bland. The chicken is overcooked (a pretty common problem) and unseasoned, the sticky rice doesn't achieve the oddly satisfying gummy quality it's supposed to have, the fried rice would make Uncle Roger lift his leg from his chair, and the broccoli was, well, steamed broccoli (with nothing added--hot even seasoning). So the result is a big plate of bland/blah. So why three stars instead of two or one? Well, it's certainly not offensive or even bad. And the owner is friendly in a way you want more people to be. It's also, by today's standards, dirt cheap. The problem is just that, despite the cheapness, this is pretty unsatisfying other than a means of not being hungry. read more

This is simplicity at its best. Walk in to the counter...order what you like. Within minutes your order is ready. You can dine in as I did, siting comfortably at a large table. Wifi available. Currently enjoying a large bowl of chicken noodle soup (subbed rice in, noodles out...it is "sticky rice" after all..:). The soup is flavourful, the chicken roasted roughly cut and delicious...the rice perfectly "sticky"..:) Arrived at 11:30 and just beat out the lunch crowd (but most of the patrons are getting food to go and they move in and out quickly). Want a quick good "Sticky Rice" stop? This is your place. Me, just hangin near the window, planning me NYC trip with over sized paper maps and slurpin on this tasty soup. Thanks for reading. I finally found Sticky Rice open after the fourth time trying. Limited hours. I like that the menu is simple with only five or so items to choose from. Three stars for the food. I take away two stars due to not many items in the menu and portions.

I was glad to be able to try this restaurant. At the moment, they only offer take out order but the food was quickly prepared like when I was in Thailand. The menu was simple - choose the types of chicken you want, choose the side of sticky rice or regular rice, et voila!! I chose the sticky rice and house marinaded chicken. Oh I wish I knew better! I opened the box and the smell of the food bright me back to Thailand. Be prepared to eat by hands as that's the best way to taste food, especially the sticky rice and chicken!! Well I would have taken some photos of the food but I got so excited that I started eating right away so my hands were sticky. Try it - you won't disappoint! read more

Was going to satellite for a burrito and saw this place next to it. Nice bowl of chicken and rice sounded good after a workout. Ordered honey chicken bowl. It was out before I was even done paying. I said to myself damn they're on it here. I took it to go because I had to get to work. Big mistake should've checked my order. This tasted like the display Bowls look. Rice was hard as a rock like it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a day. Vegetables were cold, chicken dried out. This I s why it suck's to tip when you haven't even received your food. Asking for a tip before receiving food should be criminal. I gave two stars because pricing was fair. Even though it was $10 down the drain read more

The chicken in this spot is amazing. I've gotten the honey glazed chicken and the family pack and they are both juicy and tender. Laotian food in Albuquerque? I wasn't expecting many Asian restaurants in Albuquerque, I was presently surprised with the choice of restaurants available in the area. Food was simple. Just chicken and sticky rice. Chicken had nice flavor, red hot sauce complimented chicken really well. I always liked sticky rice from Southeast Asia and it tasted like what I remember. Lunch was less than $7, fast and friendly service. Good place to come for quick lunch. read more

Love the chicken. Love the rice. Love the sauce. Love their fast turnaround. They put fast food to shame with the speed of service. All they have is chicken. Chicken and rice. Chicken and noodles. Chicken noodle soup. All yummy! The chicken is dark meat: melt in your mouth, tender leg and thigh meat that's not for those childish palates that only eat breast meat. Did I say I love the chicken? Grilled, caramelized, tender chicken - get the boneless honey chicken. Your taste buds will sing. Your tummy will thank you. Your wallet will still be full. And eat the steamed veggies drenched in that delicious, not overly spicy hot sauce. You'll feel healthy and happy. It's all about chicken, baby. read more

My advice is for the owner to watch several seasons of restaurant impossible with Robert Irvine. The huge blown up pictures of food on the outside window are very unappealing and they look gross. Looking inside the place is disorganized and needs a good cleanup as well as a refresh/remodel. It made me not want to try the food so this review is based on aesthetics only. based on how at noon on a workday there was no one in there but hello deli was standing room only I would say there's room for improvements. read more

Sticky Rice - Number one 1. Two Quarter Legs - Laotian Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Best sticky rice in town, amazing food and service! However wish they where open on weekends!

Alright stop, collaborate and listen Rice is back with a brand new invention Somethin' grabs ahold of it tightly Sticks like Elmer's glue daily and nightly... Sorry, I couldn't resist. This place is novel for one reason, and that's basically reason enough to visit. While southeast Asia is flush with sticky rice -- for many it's a staple for breakfast, lunch and dinner -- you'll find this stuff in precisely one locale in the whole of Albuquerque. It's fun food, too. Seriously, ditch the utensils (after you chop up your chicken and wash your hands, of course) and just shovel this stuff into your mouth; the disposable plates sort of nudge you to get ancestral, and the rice won't stick to your digits, either. The place reminds me of some hole-in-the-wall spots in Manhattan, where a solid, virtually veggie-free belly stuffin' runs less than a ten spot, sometimes less than five. Oh, and the spicy sauce in here is totally legit. And speaking of thrift, check out the family deal: $25 feeds 4-5 folks. Word to your mother, father, sister and brother. read more

The chicken is AMAZING! Totally worth the money. I actually only eat half and has some leftover to bring home.

We were headed to Hello Deli, which I'm embarrassed to say, we had never tried, when we saw pictures of noodles and rice on windows. Having lived in Asia for almost 10 years, this caught our attention. Another man, heading in, convinced us to give it a try. We are so glad we went in. They pretty much only have chicken, rice and noodles but, that's good enough for us. We've been back twice in one week for the noodle soup. When it's cold outside there is nothing better than some version of Asian noodle soup. We will, eventually try something else, particularly the mango and sticky rice but until Spring, it's soup for me. read more
