My first visit to this establishment was on March 27, 2026. I went for a late lunch and arrived at about 2 o'clock so I was seated immediately by very friendly and accommodating staff. There is plentiful parking. The decor is comfortable. The menu has a high number of options to choose from. I am less familiar with Vietnamese food than other cuisines, so this was a bit of a learning experience for me. I had noodles with sliced beef. Within the dish were a few peanuts and bean sprouts. The fish sauce was delicate, and a great enhancement to the food. I'm not sure how I would describe the sauce. Umami for sure, but subtle hint of sweet and sour. The beef was tender. Saturday at 4:30, and the place was quiet. Same, friendly service and clean booth, but this time, I ordered my other Vietnamese go-to dish: Bún thịt nướng chả giò (vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork and fried spring roll). The spring rolls were not my favorite - very small in diameter with a puffed shell, about 4 pieces. The crunch, however, is an important contrast for this cold noodle salad that always hits the spot on a hot day. If you need to eat your veggies but tend to dislike salads, try #35! This restaurant is off and hidden. If we weren't walking by it, we would have missed it. It really has great food! Had vegan spring rolls, chicken and rice dish, chicken and middle dish! Excellent. Waiter was pleasant, attentive, but not overly assertive, which was great. Asked customers what they suggested as they all Seems to be regulars. Great recommendation. The food is great. I used to go here before Covid and I love the place. They were always open. They stayed open till at least 9 PM. After Covid, they decided to only be open five days a week. And they close earlier than their hours indicate. If you're gonna be dishonest. You don't have my support. A lot of restaurants here in New Mexico have gotten very lazy. They don't want to work late. A lot of your customers are getting off work at 7 to 8 o'clock. To close before nine is absolutely absurd. Something really needs to change with these businesses. It's funny, I've noticed this place forever and just never stopped in. I finally did recently and was pleasantly surprised! I wanted something vegetarian with noodles and this didn't disappoint. The dish was quite good and very flavorful. I also had the Vietnamese coffee and hadn't had it served as a hot water pour in pot setup. That was unique. I will definitely be back to explore more of the vegetarian options and see what else can be made vegetarian. Our server was very attentive and super friendly - no complaints on the service. I'm born and raised in abq and this is my FAVORITE restaurant. The food is delicious and consistent which is hard to find!!! They do takeout as well as dine in and the takeout is just as good. Its always quiet and clean inside as well. I always get the rare beef pho and it always hits. I've come here for lunch a few times and finally tried it for dinner on Saturday, January 22, 2022. My wife and I arrived at approximately 6:15 PM and there were only three other tables. She'd never been here so we order two pork and shrimp spring roll appetizers with peanut sauce and a pot of hot jasmine tea. The light tea really hit the spot and the opaque rice paper wraps showed off the large shrimp nestled inside the spring rolls. These were fresh rolls and stuffed with ingredients. My wife ordered the beef pho and I had the broken rice with shredded pork, grilled prawns and a steamed egg pie with meatloaf. I added some hot oil to my dish and it took it to the next level. The broken rice had tiny grain rice and the tender and moist shredded pork dissolved in my mouth. My prawns were super large and the steamed egg pie may have looked a bit suspicious but tasted marvelous. Let me just say they have generous portions. My wife barely finished her pho and I had to waddle out of the restaurant like an over engorged duck. For 2 springs rolls, a pot of jasmine tea, and two main courses we paid a total of $37.31. Favorite pho spot in ABQ!! I usually get #13 rare beef pho. You gotta add all the fix-ins, cilantro, bean sprouts, basil, lime, and if you're feeling real nice gotta add the hoisin sauce and sriracha!! They are very friendly and have an extensive menu so everyone's sure to enjoy something even vegetarians and vegans. Definitely want to try more of their dishes but their pho is so good read more

I had tried this place once before and had gotten a vegetarian soup. I went in again for a dinner meal. I had the #79 combo plate of lemongrass chicken, fried prawns, steamed veggies and fried rice. The fried prawns and steamed veggies were fine. The chicken was really chickeny (eggy smell, funky taste) and did not have any lemongrass flavor. The fried rice had chunks of pork/bacon. It was the first time I had seen this in fried rice and jt was not mentioned on the menu. The plate cost about 15.50 dollars and I think I ate about $3 of it. I also had the Thai iced tea for $6 and it was fine. Overall it was a disappointing experience. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time. They are "to go only" at this time. I made a small mistake as I had a hard time reading their menu on my Yelp app. I ordered 64, which I thought was grilled pork and egg roll. When I pulled over to eat at a park, imagine my surprise to find two pork chops with my rice and egg rolls. I looked sadly at my little plastic spoon and chopsticks and realized my hands were about to get sticky. My fault, though... After I tore my chips apart, I enjoyed the meal. The chips are nicely done and have a great flavor. The egg rolls had a different texture and my first bite I didn't enjoy. However, I ended up liking them as I got deeper into the rolls. They have a unique taste and paired well with the fish sauce and sriracha. I missed vegetables. They give you what I can only describe as a cucumber salad. It's iceberg lettuce with LOTS of cucumber. Not inspired. Overall, a good meal. A bit pricey, but times are tough and local businesses are struggling. I was happy. read more

A query of Vietnamese and Pho joints in Albuquerque (known by locals as ABQ) via my handy Yelp app yield a surprisingly high number of search results. I asked the friendly manager type fellow who waited on me during my recent visit to Saigon Restaurant, and he explained that after the Vietnam War, New Mexico and particularly Albuquerque was a major resettlement area for refugees. He mentioned that his family has been in the area for several generations. Well ABQ has definitely benefited from this population, especially when it comes to one of my favorite foods - Pho. One typically thinks that really good pho is reserved for the usual suspects of NYC, LA, Houston, New Orleans...and I guess the DC area (and that's a stretch). The Pho at Saigon Restaurant is very good. The broth is aromatic with notes of star anise, cardamon, and ginger - a bit on the salty side for my taste, but only a slight detraction there. Unlike at too many pho restaurants, this place DOES NOT skimp on the ingredients. The large bowl has a good heaping serving of noodles and plenty of cuts of meat. As usual, I got the "special" which has all of the prime as well as "odd" cuts such as tripe and tendon. Bonus points since in addition to the condiments of Sriracha, hoison, and fish sauce, there was also scratch made chili oil. Good portion sizes and plentiful basil, bean sprouts, and jalapeno slices meant I did not leave hungry. I'm sure there are other places in ABQ for great Vietnamese cuisine, but you can't go wrong here. read more

Pro: The tapioca seafood dry noodles was excellent. I love the chewiness of the noodles. Cons: The staff is a bit aggressive though. I went there for lunch, sitting alone having a nice quiet lunch. The waitress came over multiple times to ask how I'm doing. Not sure I understand that gesture. If someone is having a mouth full of food, coming over to interrupt their lunch multiple times is not NICE! Gotta stop that!! The owner came out and replaced my spoon without asking me if that's ok. Apparently the dish does not goes with the metal spoon. However, wouldn't you let the customers decide which utensils to eat which whatever they want?! What if I decided to eat with my bare hands!!! This is such a lovely little place! We came craving pho and we're not disappointed! I ordered the rice noodle soup with tofu and vegetables, while my friend ordered the grilled chicken with rice paper and vegetables. Both were excellent! My soup came with tons of noodles, amazing broth, and lots of fresh crunchy vegetables that really hit the spot. I added some fish sauce to the soup and was so satisfied! My friends dish came with chicken, rice noodles, rice paper sheets, vegetables, and sauces (see photo). The waitress patiently showed him how to dunk the rice paper sheets in the provided hot water and then wrap the chicken vegetables and sauces into rolls which were delicious! We also ordered a Thai tea which was so amazing and only $2.95! This was a wonderful experience and we now know where our favorite Vietnamese restaurant is! read more

I don't see why they shouldn't get five stars... this was my first time here and this is just one of those places where I wonder why I never came in before? I've been a patron of Thai Vegan and have gone there countless times so maybe I just didn't expand my horizons until today- I vowed to start venturing out to more Pho places for a change and this place hit the spot. Also because spicy Asian soups are the new chicken noodle - cures whatever ails ya! The menu is extensive! There are 121 options listed, no joke. That doesn't count the shakes and smoothies. I had #11 special beef soup and wasn't disappointed and I ordered a #23 egg noodle soup with tofu and vegetables...it looked even more delicious! I will try it the next time. My husband is vegetarian so I had to look closely at what to order- I would have been just as well off asking the friendly waiter for a recommendation. I found the tofu veggie option listed under seafood noodle soup. We also had the veggies tofu spring rolls and they were a tough contender to my all-time favorite freshie rolls over at Thai Vegan. This is our second visit, and I'm fairly glad I waited for the second go-round. Our first visit was downright phenomenal. We were ravenous and went for appetizers of spring rolls and roasted quail. There wasn't a whole lot of meat on the quail, but with the salt, pepper, and lemon, plus its crispy exterior and succulent interior, it was divine. We had two entrees that were wonderful mixes of meat and veg, but I can't recall their names any more than the names of our servers. The real cake-taker from that first visit, though, was the Salted Squid. The squid itself somehow tasted fresher than any we've had out here, and the light breading was full of savory, umame, picante, and just a hint of sweet. We wept with delight eating it, even though we actually made it take-out and ate it cold the next morning. The real joy of that first visit, though, was the older lady who served us. I'm rubbish at remembering names, which in this case is a real tragedy, since her warmth, good humor, and readiness to answer our questions took the visit from good to astounding. Fast-forward to today's visit, and the young man who was our server. Again, I'm absolute rubbish at remembering names for good or ill, but it was not the same experience at all. We ordered a Shrimp (Thai Style) Fire Pot and the Salted Squid this time. The soup that came out on the fire pot had maybe 4 shrimp total, and a bunch of onions, some assorted seafood (fake crab, 2 mussels, and a handful of squid pieces), some tomato bits, a few mushrooms, and chunks of some of the most astringent ginger I've had the pleasure to bite into. I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to bite into the ginger since it was downright woody. The broth was delightfully picante, but also fairly sweet, though Raz couldn't enjoy it due to the hefty clump of Cilantro that did not lend itself to my attempts to gather it all, and therefore found its way into every bite. I enjoyed the soup, even if I'm still convinced that it wasn't what I ordered, so I'm not about to review them super harshly for bringing me good food that didn't kill me... The Salted Squid tasted every bit as glorious as the first time, but the portion seemed much smaller than we remember. For the inconsistency in the visit, we definitely could not award 5 stars, but since the food is actually pretty amazing even when it's wrong, I'm still giving 4. read more

Ordered a chicken fried rice to-go for my daughter, who has a shell fish allergy. Got home and while plating it, found 2 shrimp in the rice. First impressions make or break it for me. Got the vermicelli noodle bowl with pork. It's hard to mess up a salad and with that said I was disappointed with the meat. It was thin, dry, and burnt.
