Food and service were both great always fast and friendly one of our favorite restaurants in Albuquerque

This was a new to me Vietnamese place, since my old standby was closed on Monday. The staff were very friendly and there was an entire vegetarian section of the menu which made me quite happy. It's a small space in a strip mall in the south end of the Walmart parking lot. The setup is basically some booths but mostly tables. It's nice enough. Anyway, on to the food! We tried the crab rangoons which were amazing! Not overloaded with cream cheese like many are and a good amount of crab. I probably could have eaten several orders of those as my entire meal, but I'm glad I didn't. I also got the tofu lemongrass noodles which were just the right amount of a kick and lots of tofu. Our server was very good about refilling drinks and making sure we didn't need anything else. I'll have to go back to try more dishes! read more

Okay new to me place, it's a Vietnamese restaurant in place of the old Chinzen Chinese place. I was pleasantly surprised. The service is very friendly and polite everything we had was made fresh and prepared well. Drinks were topped off always, this place is clean. I need to try more dishes to rank it among the other greats in town but nothing bad to say here everything was good. read more

Tried on a whim while running errands and hungry. Ordered in the restaurant for to-go. The staff was super sweet and helped us go through the menu. We were told that anything could be made vegetarian, which was great as that wasn't totally clear from the menu itself. Yelp wants me to talk about ambiance, so I'll say that the vibe is nice, the place is very clean, bright, and open. We ordered crispy noodles and a vermicelli bowl, both with tofu. The flavor was great and the portion sizes were good. My main complaint is that there aren't a lot of extra vegetables to go with the tofu. There are two kinds of vietnamese places - those that put veggies like broccoli and peppers in their dishes, and those that don't. This is the latter but because it's not so hearty as a vegetarian option, I wouldn't go back if I was really hungry. But certainly worth a visit. read more

I had this place when it was at its old location and enjoyed it. I think they revamped their menu and logo but my husband and I came here for dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious! There's a good amount of space on the inside, staff were friendly and very attentive. I loved the shrimp spring rolls as it was very simple, usually they have basil leaves but this one didn't and that's what I prefer. The combination pho was great too! Not understanding the hype on this one, unfortunately. In a city full of excellent Vietnamese food, Viet Com doesn't really stand out. Interior - 3/5 Clean but otherwise relatively plain and uninviting. Somehow has a bit of a 50's diner vibe with none of the charm. Service - 5/5 Waitstaff was by far the best part of the experience. Great communication and attention to detail. Shrimp Spring Rolls - 3/5 Shrimp, vermicelli and lettuce, wrapped in rice paper, with vermicelli making up the bulk of the filling. The herb component, typically mint or thai basil, is completely missing here. They're not bad tasting, but fairly obviously done on the cheap. Spicy Beef Lemongrass Bowl - 3/5 Tasty, but fairly light on the beef and heavy on the vermicelli, likely to keep costs down. Stir Fried Shrimp with Flat Noodles - 3/5 Flavor was relatively plain but not unpleasant. Rather than vermicelli, this time there was lots of of white onion as filler. I could have definitely done with more of the flat noodles and other veg. Shrimp really should have been tail off as well. Having to pluck the tails definitely detracted from the eating experience. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant, Chinsan, is gone. Now you can find Viet Com at the same location. It's my first time here and I ordered a chicken rice plate. Well-presented large portion. The chicken was fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. Long, my waiter, was friendly, attentive, and professional. I'll come back. Maybe you'll like to visit, too. read more

Had an amazing lunch today. My sister and I had the Pho and a combination Clay Pot. Both were amazing!! I did not think to take a picture as I was too hungry. It is a cute small restaurant, easy to sit and visit. The service was hands down the best I have ever, yes really, EVER, had. From menu recommendations to, guidance through the meal and boxing up my sister's leftovers, Misty was professional, friendly and so much fun to chat with. Heard they are moving soon so check location. Clear, flavorful broth which means they skim the impurities off the broth and use enough bone and bone marrow to prepare it. Up there with Viet's Pho and definitely better than Basil Leaf's pho. read more

We stopped by for lunch on Christmas day. Super flavorful stir fry veggie and spicy curry vegetable noodle bowl. We also had the spring roll. Veggies were so fresh and dishes were so flavorful. One of the best Vietnamese meals we've had and a big shout out to our hostess! We also tried the Vietnamese coffee. It was so good we had it twice! My only two issues were when the waitress brought us regular green tea when we ordered Jasmine tea and then reassured me it was Jasmine instead of looking into the issue. I've been drinking Jasmine and green teas for decades. That was not Jasmine tea. Really nice open space restaurant with plenty of seating and a very calm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and informative. They have a menu with pictures of everything they serve which was extremely helpful and beautiful. We ordered the beef in grape leaf appetizer and I can honestly say I have never tried anything like that before and it was so delicious. Wow. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue because it's been all over my social media pages. I was told it is a spicy lemongrass broth with noodles and Vietnamese sausage. It had a 'funky' taste that at first I was worried I couldn't eat. Then I made it through a few bites and realized it was kind of addictive. I did get the spring rolls too and those were super fresh. Eggrols were the size of spring rolls,, but i was pleasantly surprised, they were full of pork instead of just cabbage, that you usually find in other Asian restaurants. Eggrolls had a good flavor. Portion of the soup was large & had plenty of noodles & garnish. Only thing I would recommend ordering it without the ham. The texture was more like spam, and it didn't have much flavor. Lemongrass chicken rice dish- tender white meat, tons of flavor, fresh veg and perfect rice. Crab rangoon- Crispy but with a lot of creamy crab. Comes with sweet chili dipping sauce, way better than sweet and sour sauce others offer. Chicken pad thai- Not pad thai. At all. But a very delicious stir fried broad rice noodles with broccoli and white meat tender chicken. Just not pad thai. Papaya salad with chicken- Again, tender white meat, VERY FRESH salad, tasted like they had just shaved the green papaya, Daikin, carrot etc, Vietnamese coffee- The real deal with sweetened condensed milk. Yum. Strawberry smoothie- super fresh tasting, LOTS of strawberry bits. Great. Wonton soup- Rich broth, delicate and delicious wonton. PLUS we got all of that and an iced tea for $60! And with quick, happy service. Even though we asked for extra sauces and limes etc, hats off to the waiter. Big tip This is a great place. read more

Best Pho in town! I have been looking for a go-to pho place in Albuquerque and now I know that I have found it! The flavors of the pho is so well balanced and clean, it left me a very satisfied customer. The noodles were nice and soft, they were like pillows soaking up the delectable flavors of this staple Vietnamese dish. If you like to have a ton of bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, lime, and green onions in your pho --this is the place for you because they are very generous with their side toppings. I've now been to this gem 3 times in the last year, most recently for my birthday lunch--I could go every day. Every dish I've gotten has been delicately balanced in seasoning, perfectly prepared, and amazingly fresh, no matter the season. The hostess/server (I'm so sorry I've not yet learned her name) has always been generously helpful with recommendations, uncannily attentive, and warm. Helpfully, there was a photographic menu in addition to the normal text menu at my last visit; the food appears at the table as attractive as it is presented in the menu. The restaurant itself is pleasant but unpretentious in its decor, and it is airy and spacious. While I can recommend everything I've had, I always get fresh spring rolls (of different types) when I go. It's a struggle to have to choose between excellent pho, generous and tasty noodle dishes, or superbly prepared stir fry/rice. I'll just have to keep going back and try them all! read more
