    14. Lemongrass Noodle Bowl Vegetarian
    Angie K.

This was a new to me Vietnamese place, since my old standby was closed on Monday. The staff were very friendly and there was an entire vegetarian section of the menu which made me quite happy. It's a small space in a strip mall in the south end of the Walmart parking lot. The setup is basically some booths but mostly tables. It's nice enough. Anyway, on to the food! We tried the crab rangoons which were amazing! Not overloaded with cream cheese like many are and a good amount of crab. I probably could have eaten several orders of those as my entire meal, but I'm glad I didn't. I also got the tofu lemongrass noodles which were just the right amount of a kick and lots of tofu. Our server was very good about refilling drinks and making sure we didn't need anything else. I'll have to go back to try more dishes!

Okay new to me place, it's a Vietnamese restaurant in place of the old Chinzen Chinese place. I was pleasantly surprised. The service is very friendly and polite everything we had was made fresh and prepared well. Drinks were topped off always, this place is clean. I need to try more dishes to rank it among the other greats in town but nothing bad to say here everything was good.

I had this place when it was at its old location and enjoyed it. I think they revamped their menu and logo but my husband and I came here for dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious! There's a good amount of space on the inside, staff were friendly and very attentive. I loved the shrimp spring rolls as it was very simple, usually they have basil leaves but this one didn't and that's what I prefer. The combination pho was great too! Definitely a place to try!

My favorite Chinese restaurant, Chinsan, is gone. Now you can find Viet Com at the same location. It's my first time here and I ordered a chicken rice plate. Well-presented large portion. The chicken was fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. Long, my waiter, was friendly, attentive, and professional. I'll come back. Maybe you'll like to visit, too.

Heard they are moving soon so check location. Clear, flavorful broth which means they skim the impurities off the broth and use enough bone and bone marrow to prepare it. Up there with Viet's Pho and definitely better than Basil Leaf's pho.

Food was excellent, fresh, had the fried shrimp and egg rolls as appetizers and the main dish was combination vegetables stir fry, this is my third visit, and I will be coming back for the pho this winter

Picked up an order for my wife. Employees were very friendly. Order was ready on time. Just had to wait 2 minutes. Offered me water while waiting. Good size restaurant just no one else eating at 730 on a Saturday night. Pho soup was very good.

We stopped by for lunch on Christmas day. Super flavorful stir fry veggie and spicy curry vegetable noodle bowl. We also had the spring roll. Veggies were so fresh and dishes were so flavorful. One of the best Vietnamese meals we've had and a big shout out to our hostess! We also tried the Vietnamese coffee. It was so good we had it twice! Highly recommend checking out this spot if you're in ALQ.

All the flavors were excellent! Even the fish and peanut sauces were tastier than they've been elsewhere. Ambiance was relaxed and fresh. The service was friendly and fast, too. My only two issues were when the waitress brought us regular green tea when we ordered Jasmine tea and then reassured me it was Jasmine instead of looking into the issue. I've been drinking Jasmine and green teas for decades. That was not Jasmine tea. My other issue was her letting our plates pile up instead of taking them with her any of the dozen times she checked in on us.

Really nice open space restaurant with plenty of seating and a very calm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and informative. They have a menu with pictures of everything they serve which was extremely helpful and beautiful. We ordered the beef in grape leaf appetizer and I can honestly say I have never tried anything like that before and it was so delicious. I ordered the pork spring rolls and the combination noodle bowl. These two rank up there for Vietnamese in the city for sure. We will be back.

The service was attentive. The food came out quickly The spring rolls were very good. I found the peanut sauce to be a bit too sweet My biggest complaint with the Bun was not enough vegetables. Lots of noodles. The grilled pork was prepared well. Overall a decent lunch for under $20

The cold cuts were flavorful, the bread was fresh, and the meat to bread ratio was just right since I like more meat than bread. This is an excellent option for a quick lunch, but I would recommend staying to eat if you can. The decor is simple, the space is clean, and there are a few tables available. It does get busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves quickly and is well worth the wait. While the banh mi definitely steals the show, there are plenty of other options on the menu. Their banh cuon, thin rice noodles filled with ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, was good, though still second to the sandwiches. They also offer pate chau, a flaky puff pastry filled with pork pate, including a New Mexico style version with chicken and green chile. They have a variety of Vietnamese desserts like che, which I did not get a chance to try this time. My coworker loved their traditional Vietnamese hot coffee. I do not drink coffee, but I did enjoy one of their smoothies, which was refreshing and delicious. Overall, CODA Bakery is a go to spot for authentic Vietnamese flavors and one of the best places in Albuquerque for banh mi.

I have never seen such teamwork to be served, ice tea refilled and keep things moving. The servers work as a team! I feel good when I leave because the food is delicious and fulfilling. I've had their Won Ton Soup, which is very reasonably priced. But mostly I go for their noodle bowls, which are excellent. I get a combo beef and eggroll--delicious. I also recommend their chicken spring rolls, which are unique and tasty. Otherwise, their selection of spring rolls are a bit limited. I think Viet Taste serves the best iced tea in Albuquerque. It's really good! The food and service have been consistent over several visits. I feel good when I finish my meal!

No attempt at Vietnamese authenticity; instead, corners are cut with cheaper or maybe less challenging (for American palates) ingredients. Truly not great. I've experienced this before in Europe, where some ingredients aren't available locally or they are afraid to insult local tastes. But Albuquerque has a significant Vietnamese population, great local supply of everything. There are so many good Vietnamese restaurants in Albuquerque, but this is not one of them. If you want dumbed down, flavorless food that won't challenge you, this is it. It is clean and pleasant here.

I called to place an order through "Bamboo by Kulantro" with a very friendly staff member. He was just as friendly when I picked up my takeout on November 25, 2025. My "takeaway" entree was the Bamboo Bowl ($18.12 with a card). It entailed "vermicelli noodles, spring mix, crispy garnish, peanuts, house sauce, crispy egg roll cut up into pieces, two grilled shrimp, and my choice of protein: grilled beef. While there was an enormous amount of vermicelli noodles which I could not finish, the rest of the entree had great portions of the rest. My dog even enjoyed much of the beef I offered her. (I washed the spice off.) If you have gluten, peanut allergy, vegan preferences, etc. - those requests can be honored. Inside, the restaurant was no frills, but a mostly quiet, clean environment. It seemed nice. Recommended for a healthy, quality meal with friendly service!
