The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 star is because my wife ordered pho soup bowl and I can taste the after taste of the pho noodle. I had the beef stew which was good and flavorful. But different than traditional stews. I'm not sure what the spices, they were good. We shared in order of eggrolls, but my husband ate more than I did. They were actually really good a lot of flavor. My husband got the Kulantro noodle bowl. He didn't like the greens but noodles, chicken and shrimp were good. We also had lemonades from the stand near by. Kulantro didn't have Coke Zero or Thai tea. Their drink selection was very limited and expensive. And we had a little trouble ordering. The seating is open since it's a shared open area. It was a nice change. After walking around the whole food court, my guy and I both decided to stop at Kulantro for food. While the employees' attitudes weren't friendly, the food was great! We tried the Grilled Pork Bao Sliders and both got the Kulantro Noodle Bowl, mine with Grilled Chicken and his with Grilled Pork. All the food was done unbelievably fast at 5 minutes max. The bao buns themselves weren't the freshest and had some hard pieces we removed, but the flavor of the pork was really nice. I was shocked by the amount of food they gave us! They really load the ingredients and I was really happy with how the proteins turned out. The sweet chili sauce added a nice flavor to it as well. I didn't finish my bowl and had it as cold leftovers later on and it was still tasty! I would definitely come back here if I was ever in the area. 5 stars for the food itself and -1 star for the employees' attitudes. Stopped in to sawmill during my work visit and was not disappointed! The service at Kulantro was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious! I tried the pho and the pork spring rolls. The pho was flavorful and perfect, and the spring rolls were delicious as well. I was surprised that the pork had a sort of sweet flavor, but it was good-just different than what I expected. Sawmill Market is busy and can be really loud, but if it's too loud for you there is also seating outside. Definitely stop in! read more

Hubby and I came in for a bowl of pho and left not only satisfied by the luxuriously brothy soup , but also got to see a side of Sawmill after hours. It was homecoming night the evening we went and other than a few closed up locations, there were lots of people and plenty of seating. After getting our soup from the nice man at the counter, we sat down near the patio entrance people watching and planning our next visit to Sawmill. Kulantro is one of my favorites in Sawmill. The veggie noodle bowl is fresh and really tasty, with good fried tofu. I've also enjoyed the spring rolls. The peanut sauce and teriyaki style sauce are good. They give a big portion too. The one downside is they seem to run out of things fairly often. read more

Roadtrip through 8 states and we landed at the #SawMillMarket. Many eateries to choose from and I saw a special for their #NoodleBowl. The shrimp skewers and cut up egg roll in the bowl intrigued me. The bowl was very delicious and the lettuce, cucumbers, and other veggies were very fresh. I hope I find a similar dish in SoCal. The noodle bowl with chicken skewers and grilled shrimp finished off our evening. The flavors, quality meals, sauces and proteins you select here are spot-on. They excel with great pride in food presentation. These combinations coupled with quality ingredients and home made fesh meals unfortunately now reminds me that Sawmill Market is only Kulantro. Glad we tried it..but I don't think I would be back...because I felt the selection was a bit limited and..it was a bit overpriced (esp when I'm also Southeast Asian and felt like the value of the food wasn't there for the prices paid). We ordered a platter, a skewer and a fresh spring roll...and honestly..the player is just 3 skewers (with a choice of drink) and spring roll was really a huge roll filled with rice noodles and a bit of your choice of grilled meat (same meat you get with your skewers). I found the taste to be ok. The restaurant was clean..but I can't stomach $6 ish for a skewer and $8-9 for fresh rolls (without tax or tips)....that's a bit too much for what you get in my mind. Overall, a nice and clean environment to socialize..and the staff was nice and polite. But given my (relatively high) expectations for SEAsian food..I would probably try to find a better selection or value for the prices I paid elsewhere. read more

We ordered online so we could get food from multiple places in Sawmill and they had our food ready extra quickly, even though they had a super long line all night. Dunno about you, but I didn't expect this food hall to offer legit Vietnamese cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised at the first and the second meal. Soon, I'll explore the Phở, but I'd say the basics on this one are the following: they play it safe, fresh produce is valued, and the grilled pork is outstanding. By safe, I mean the food is no-risk, safe for the heat-averse, not exactly what a dude from Burque is lookin' for, but a nice introduction for beginners. These guys do a deconstructed bao that easily measures up to the best in the city -- not that there's a ton of competition -- and the pork makes every bite worthy. I'd skip the spring rolls unless, of course, you like them safe. And the vermicelli is as bright on your tongue as it appears in the bowl.
