I was in the mood for some bbq and after reading multiple reviews I decided to check out spring creek despite the fact that other places had better reviews- this was solely for the convenience factor being that this place was about 3 minutes from my hotel. Overall the food was ok. The ribs and the brisket were good, not great. However the sides, especially the Mac and cheese were not nearly hot enough- in fact they were almost ice cold. The bread was delicious - piping hot right out of the oven. I found the meat portions on the combination plate to be rather small; however, I thought it was a plus that you could pile up as much of the sides as you wanted. I later found out that this was because the sides weren't good at all. Having been to multiple bbq places across the country I wasn't that impressed - but it certain wasn't the worst place I'd ever been to. I think next time I might opt for the longer ride and check out a different place in the area! read more

There was a lot of advertising and "hype" around this new place, so we tried it. I was honestly pretty let down. There were 5 people behind the counter and all of them ignored us when we walked in. When we finally got them to tear away from whatever riveting personal convos they were having, they rudely informed us that they were out of brisket. They weren't helpful with informing us of anything really, and we eventually got the 2 combo plate. Meager portions for $15, quite honestly. The sides were tasteless, the peppered sausage was horrible, the BBQ sauce was thin and tasteless, and the beer was not cold. We enjoyed the pulled pork - but would have been better off at Rudy's or Papa's BBQ for quality and value. I won't be going back. read more

This restaurant has one of the best barbecues in the area. And the lunchtime special is the greatest. It's currently (8/12/17) $9.95 for a roll, two sides and your barbecue. There are additional sides, fried okra being one, that you can get instead, but you have to ask. Word of warning, they appear to add extra salt to the okra. We plan to ask them to skip that next time. People on salt restricted diets can't eat all the extra salt being added to foods today. When you can always add it yourself I'm not sure why restaurants do that. We also ordered a piece of pecan pie to share. It was so good and there was more than enough for us to share. During our meal, a nice young lady came around several times to see if we wanted more rolls. I guess I should mention we are senior citizens and usually take part of our meal home. We had the rest of our meal today at lunch, and it was just as good as yesterday at the restaurant. read more

Definitely not high quality meat or ingredients, corn on a cob is frozen and reheated and not sweet as it should be, turkey is gooey and not seasoned enough for a bbq turkey. Coleslaw has garlic in it!! Who puts garlic in a sweet coleslaw?? Find a moms and pops bbq place it would be way better and support your community! read more

We go here quite often for school spirit nights or for close by BBQ. Our first choice would be Rudy's but it's a bit of trek to Spring from our home. They have really great Brisket which is a huge plus since that's my fav when going out for BBQ. Some things that are lacking-they seem really stingy with their sauce. I don't need a lot but I need more than the teeny tiny container they give. I like the style of their bread-little loaves but it doesn't have any flavour. Their sides are good-potato salad and beans are really good but the cole slaw is just ok. I like that they have mac and cheese for the little ones who don't want meat. I'm giving 5 stars because they have a lot going for them and don't feel that the food I'm not a fan of should bring the review down. The service is good but you might not know what to do exactly in their buffet line if you've never been before. I assumed they gave you the sides but they do not. You get them yourself. read more

I had an absolutely awful experience here recently. My family has been here many times (despite the fact that their BBQ is mediocre), but we went there last month on a Sunday afternoon and had a run-in with their "management." My dad was suffering from a hip injury and could barely stand. He was on pain medication and took a seat at a table rather than standing in the very long line while we waited to place our order. Rather than be understanding in a situation where a patron was clearly in pain, the manager on duty berated my dad and demanded he stand up and wait in line. He made a huge scene (even going so far as to drag a chair screeching across the floor to the line) and really embarrassed my family. I can tell you for a fact we won't be back again, and I think Spring Creek should really consider a change in management if they hope to keep a consistent customer base. read more

Very disappointed this evening. I ordered a loaded chopped baker. When it arrived, there was no bbq. It was a plain baked potato.

Pretty good food here, however the side dishes are all you can eat and they are pretty much a waste of perfectly good stomach space. The fresh bread is awesome! Be sure to take one when the waitress offers. And holy smokes coconut cream pie was awesome!!!! read more

Given the atmosphere - which is great - you'd think the BBQ would be great - it's not. Adding to the atmosphere is the "highway robbery", harkening back to the days of the Old West when robbers would steal from passersby: What else would call charging $2.45 for an 8 ounce bottle of Coke? read more

My dad had been bugging me to come eat here for a while now, and I finally relented and came. Was very pleased that I did! It's a cafeteria style deal, get in line, pick your tray deal, get your meat, and pile on the sides how you want. You can put them on your tray however pigishly you want, but don't worry too much... YOU CAN GO BACK FOR SIDES I got the brisket, which was tasty enough to me. And some potato salad, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese. Yummmmo! I was well pleased. Ate and ate and ate, and then went back for more. Heaped a plate up, and nom'ed what I could. Then took the rest of everything to go and happily ate it at home later. Overall I think the $10 plate is a pretty good deal considering save for the meat, it's basically and all you can eat buffet. I'll be back :D read more

Just okay. Not bad, but I was expecting much better (especially being in Texas). I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go, but I probably wouldn't volunteer it as a suggestion. read more

Fri 05/20 After a 4 hr motorcycle ride we decided bbq was the solution to our hungry desires. --Brisket was moist and flavorful. Black Pepper sausage was awesome, not dry nor overcooked. $9.95 --Ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. (w/ brisket) $11.25 All you can eat sides--Cole slaw is different--bigger pieces of cabbage but I like it better than the normal ones. Beans and Potato salad werent too good. Lacked flavor. Maybe a hint more mustard and it woulda been perfect. Staff were extremely upbeat and friendly. Hot bread was fresh from the oven, delivered table-side by cheerful staff. Restaurant was packed! Save room for the peach cobbler 3.25. If Im ever in the area, I'll definitely be back. I tried to "check-in" after our meal but couldnt find it on yelp. Spoke to a manager and he said they barely opened up a few weeks ago. read more

We like Spring Creek Barbecue because we love the deal with the sides. The barbecue is authentic Texas barbecue and of course the bread is irresistible to say no to a second piece. I liked the beef and sausage plate and the desserts were tempting but I said no to myself. One can easily share a plate between two people to avoid over eating and a high priced bill. Be careful to everone who gets a plate of barbecue! The counter top is hot...I managed to burn my self but not to bad. Second, the free ice cream is only on Sundays. I will be back to Spring Creek to eat the delicious BBQ again! read more

Cool cafeteria style with booths and picnic tables to choose from. Brisket was excellent and macaroni was quite cheesy and tasty. Also got their Signature salad with turkey - fresh lettuce and turkey was delish. For out-of-towners, we enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent! Friendly people and loved when they delivered soft, hot rolls right to our table. read more

By far the best barbque ever. Rudy's, Pappa's BBQ have nothing on Spring Creek. It is sooooooo delicious. read more

Garbage. Less than 1 star. The brisket was gross. The chicken was ok I guess it earned the 1 star there. How do you get brisket that wrong in Texas??? read more

I like that Spring Creek supports local teachers and, I've heard, offers bonuses for their student workers who make honor roll. Their rolls are delicious and warm, the kid's MAC and cheese is good but awfully liquidy (messy!). The reason I am giving it 3 stars is due to the fiesta salad with chicken. I am not a BBQ eater, so this is what I order when my fan wants BBQ. My problem with it is the amount of chicken on the salad. 2 regular strips and 2 measly little half strips is not enough for a $10 salad from a restaurant that serves mainly meat! The chicken's flavor is good, but the amount to cost ratio is just disappointing. I've attached a photo. The sweet tea is also not all that sweet read more

Spring Creek Barbeque - Sad amount of meat on the fiesta salad for $10+, though the flavor is good - Barbeque Near Me - Shenandoah, Texas

Okra late and burned. Ribs all bones what little meat was like jerky. Rollls cold until I had finished my meal of bones and burnt corn meal. Finally got some hot rolls. It has been a year. OK, so I went back to Spring Creek barbecue obviously, why I don't know I'm like that dog who once had a good peace of treat at a certain point and keeps going back there hoping they to get it again. This time I got baby back ribs and they were very good they were not overcooked they were a little bland but that's to be expected. However there were no hot rolls none. No rolls at all! it seems that they were having trouble with their ovens. And the hot rolls that were being produced were being given to to-go orders boxes and boxes of rolls to to-go orders. for customers in the restaurant they don't get any. I saw people come in with to-go orders well after mine they all got hot rolls to go. So for what I consider a trademark of this restaurant the hot rolls. I had none through the entire meal. This I think was a pretty major failure. A GM get off your butt and come out and apologize to the customer failure. Next time if you have no bread for the dine-in patrons tell them before they plop down eighty dollars!!!! They did give me a coupon for two meals. read more

Delightful staff - very helpful & friendly. Take out service is quick - just go directly to the register (don't wade through the buffet line). The drawback: brisket is (as mentioned by previous Yelpers) bland. The taste is flat - zero tanginess. Covered with their BBQ sauce, it's very good but decent brisket stands on it's own. This one doesn't. I'll give their other entree meats a try next trip - but the brisket pulled this score down a star. read more

We have frequented this place alot in the past and was very good. Unfortunately Tonight the experience was horrible. During my checkout I was explained how to get water from soda machine like a 2 year old. (Trust me If I wanted soda I would pay for it) then I went to get our dessert from counter. The staff had a bad attitude ( rolling eyes , deep breaths, snatching containers, and not responding when I asked a question.) of course I talked to the manager on duty and let her know maybe her staff was stressed. In her defense, she said she was new and didn't understand much English. I told her body language speaks volumes and she could have easily said "no hablo ingles" and I would've communicated to her in Spanish. This is unacceptable. We won't be back. read more

The staff was nice, the food was good. Decent price, I suppose! That's the only reason it's not 5 stars. Quite frankly, if you eat your money's worth of sides, you're golden. The sides are ALL YOU CAN EAT, so there's the trade-off! But other than that, it's great. Definitely would recommend. read more

Highly recommended always consistent quality and service is now my go to place when we are looking for something really good.

Awful service, not military/veteran friendly. Manager has an attitude and prices are outrageously high!!!

Meh. Maybe I caught them on the wrong night or time of day but I did not really enjoy food. It was just okay and a bit over priced. The staff was nice and I did appreciate being offered the rolls and the free refills on the veggies. read more

Tried it again. Same tough, dry brisket. This was my last visit to see if they managed to get back to the quality levels I've seen at other Spring Creek BBQs. read more

Sadly, this was one of my favorite bbq restaurants. However, it has gotten worse over the years. Bland, bland, bland. The brisket used to be good. But recently, it has been under-seasoned (salt) and as if they don't smoke them at all. Good Texas brisket should be salted properly and smoked for hours. Their sides are not good either. The Mac and cheese used to be better, creamy and tasty. Now, it is just over cooked, bland and DRY. The baked potatoes are given to you with cold butter, and cheese, so it never melts. Good luck choking that down...And the prices have actually gone UP! I need more seasoning (salt/wood smoke) on the brisket before I would be willing to go back again. read more

We love Spring Creek and are regulars at the Katy location, but the food at this restaurant in The Woodlands is terrible. The macaroni and cheese has very little cheese. The green beans taste like vinegar. We switched them out for Fried okra and it tasted like grease. The tea was watered down. We won't be back. read more

I booked the banquet room for a birthday party. I called to book the event and had a pleasant experience over the phone. I decided to go in person to ask a few more questions 2 weeks later. I found out that they did not book our event like they said. Thankfully, we got it sorted out. I couldn't imagine if we showed up on the day of the event and it was not booked. I arrived an hour before the event so things would be set up. The A/C in the event room was set on 77. Keep in mind it is summer in Texas. I spoke to the buser and he said he would get someone to change the A/C. Of course he did not. I spoke to the to-go girl and she had an awful attitude. She was also being stingy with the tickets. Finally, she came in and "fixed" the A/C. The room went from 77 to 80 the time we were there. Everyone was sweating. We talked to multiple people and they refused to help or offer a solution. There were some family members that ate there last weekend and they said the A/C was not working last weekend either. If you know you are going to have events then you should get the A/C working ASAP especially in the summer. We also had to ask 4 times to get a buser in the room to bus the tables. Of course nobody showed up so we had to bus our own tables. This was an awful experience. Spring Creek was not accommodating. We will not be visiting this location nor using the banquet room anymore. read more

Just ate here today and food was good however following covid guidelines is not happening at this restaurant. No sanitizer as you enter the restaurant. Tables are not six feet apart. Back to back booths are being seated without partitions. There is a sign that says to get a new glass when refilling you're drink and the customers aren't doing that. Even watched the manager refill his drink without a new glass. I watched a table that was being cleaned by an employee and he used a rag without any sanitizing cleaner and did not even wipe down the chairs. A customer got a salt and pepper shaker off of another table to use. The governor's rules are to have individual salt and pepper packets. So if you want to go to a restaurant that is following the guidelines for your safety I would not be going here. read more

Over 45 minute wait time for an online order. I was even 15 minutes early and came in before a rush. They served walk in to go orders before me. Very frustrating. By the time they decided to give me my food, it was on the shelf behind the staff the entire time. They had down time and not a single person came to ask me my name or check the tickets ready to go. They just kept busy with tasks instead of taking care of the in person costumer. I love their food but the service makes me think twice before ordering to go ever again. A better system needs to get in place for to go orders for sure. read more

Just another mediocre franchise. Lunch way overpriced at $13.00 plus. Two slices of my brisket were burned and some of the meat was improperly sliced, making it stringy and chewy. Sides consisted of flavorless beans, nondescript potato salad, and warmed up frozen corn. A very memorable meal, for all the wrong reasons. read more

Excellent BBQ and lunch $9.95 special great value. Tastes like they use 50/50 hickory/oak blend. Just the perfect amount of smoke flavor. I loved the chicken. Something you don't find at many places. Incredibly juicy choice of white meat or dark on the bone. Brisket one of the best in North Houston. (I haven't tried Corkscrew yet. When off of Sawdust I always got there too late and they were sold out) Standard order is half fatty half lean but I recommend asking for 100% fatty. Very moist. Ribs are thick St Louis style but trimmed. Cooked to competition standard meaning NOT fall of the bone but with a slight pull off of the bone yet still tender. Sausage very fine grind with what tastes like kielbasa seasoning. I'm not wild about it but other family members love it. Only the pulled pork is a NO GO AWFUL. BSauce is a Cajun style with heavy worschestershire and lemon flavor. Get it on the side it's a love it or leave it flavor profile. Large selection of sides including smothered green beans and Mac and cheese in addition to standards. I loved the fried okra (costs extra). Made to order Fresh not frozen thin coating that tastes like it has some cornmeal in it. Only complaint is too greasy. Fresh made Parker house style rolls with free extras! Dessert is warm fresh made peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream. Went there recently for dinner and was mildly disappointed. Barbecue sauce changed to something that tastes like KC Masterpiece. Bread over baked and dry and hard. Potatoes in potatoe salad under cooked. Chicken very greasy. Actually several trays greasy. Had to pick up from stack in back. Mac and cheese and green beans and okra still excellent Also felt like temperature kept at 65F. Hands numb by time I left. Ate in hurry to get outside to warm up. Consistency people what happened? read more

A chain that does it right, starts with a great standard like Texas BBQ. Great sides, must eats include the Mac and Cheese and the Italian sized green beans with a special country style flavor. Even the Country Music playing in the background inspired creative thinking. Even though it's a chain it's off the chain. It does need WIFI and honey on demand.......lol....... read more

Horrible experience with my baked potato with slice beef. The potato was fine, however the beef was not sliced just put on top of the potato as one huge slab of meat. It was chewy, full of fat, and lacking the taste of smoke meat. I am highly unsatisfied and do not plan to visit again. read more

Spring Creek is always high quality. Wife stopped after work to pick up to gonorders for us. She ordered the 2 meat dinner with Brisket and sausage. When she got home we were verybdissappointed in the volume of product 4 sloces of brisket and 6 slices of sausage. For a $30.00 tab I would expect just a bit more brisket and sausage. Sides were small. Overall, quality is good just dissappointed with amount of food for each to go meal. Make sure you check order before you leave. read more

Over priced bbq doesn't say enough. Meat was warm, as was the chocolate pie (sitting out all day will do it) and cold vegetables. What a combination. Don't bother with this bbq wannabe. Go a mile or so further to Pappas. Much better overall quality. Better price too. read more
