We go here quite often for school spirit nights or for close by BBQ. Our first choice would be Rudy's but it's a bit of trek to Spring from our home. They have really great Brisket which is a huge plus since that's my fav when going out for BBQ. Some things that are lacking-they seem really stingy with their sauce. I don't need a lot but I need more than the teeny tiny container they give. I like the style of their bread-little loaves but it doesn't have any flavour. Their sides are good-potato salad and beans are really good but the cole slaw is just ok. I like that they have mac and cheese for the little ones who don't want meat. I'm giving 5 stars because they have a lot going for them and don't feel that the food I'm not a fan of should bring the review down. I like that Spring Creek supports local teachers and, I've heard, offers bonuses for their student workers who make honor roll. Their rolls are delicious and warm, the kid's MAC and cheese is good but awfully liquidy (messy!). The reason I am giving it 3 stars is due to the fiesta salad with chicken. I am not a BBQ eater, so this is what I order when my fan wants BBQ. My problem with it is the amount of chicken on the salad. 2 regular strips and 2 measly little half strips is not enough for a $10 salad from a restaurant that serves mainly meat! Okra late and burned. Ribs all bones what little meat was like jerky. Rollls cold until I had finished my meal of bones and burnt corn meal. Finally got some hot rolls. It has been a year. OK, so I went back to Spring Creek barbecue obviously, why I don't know I'm like that dog who once had a good peace of treat at a certain point and keeps going back there hoping they to get it again. This time I got baby back ribs and they were very good they were not overcooked they were a little bland but that's to be expected. However there were no hot rolls none. No rolls at all! it seems that they were having trouble with their ovens. And the hot rolls that were being produced were being given to to-go orders boxes and boxes of rolls to to-go orders. for customers in the restaurant they don't get any. I saw people come in with to-go orders well after mine they all got hot rolls to go. So for what I consider a trademark of this restaurant the hot rolls. I had none through the entire meal. This I think was a pretty major failure. A GM get off your butt and come out and apologize to the customer failure. Next time if you have no bread for the dine-in patrons tell them before they plop down eighty dollars!!!! They did give me a coupon for two meals. read more

We have frequented this place alot in the past and was very good. Unfortunately Tonight the experience was horrible. During my checkout I was explained how to get water from soda machine like a 2 year old. (Trust me If I wanted soda I would pay for it) then I went to get our dessert from counter. The staff had a bad attitude ( rolling eyes , deep breaths, snatching containers, and not responding when I asked a question.) of course I talked to the manager on duty and let her know maybe her staff was stressed. In her defense, she said she was new and didn't understand much English. I told her body language speaks volumes and she could have easily said "no hablo ingles" and I would've communicated to her in Spanish. This is unacceptable. We won't be back. read more

I had an absolutely awful experience here recently. My family has been here many times (despite the fact that their BBQ is mediocre), but we went there last month on a Sunday afternoon and had a run-in with their "management." My dad was suffering from a hip injury and could barely stand. He was on pain medication and took a seat at a table rather than standing in the very long line while we waited to place our order. Rather than be understanding in a situation where a patron was clearly in pain, the manager on duty berated my dad and demanded he stand up and wait in line. He made a huge scene (even going so far as to drag a chair screeching across the floor to the line) and really embarrassed my family. I can tell you for a fact we won't be back again, and I think Spring Creek should really consider a change in management if they hope to keep a consistent customer base. read more

My dad had been bugging me to come eat here for a while now, and I finally relented and came. Was very pleased that I did! It's a cafeteria style deal, get in line, pick your tray deal, get your meat, and pile on the sides how you want. You can put them on your tray however pigishly you want, but don't worry too much... YOU CAN GO BACK FOR SIDES I got the brisket, which was tasty enough to me. And some potato salad, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese. Yummmmo! I was well pleased. Ate and ate and ate, and then went back for more. Heaped a plate up, and nom'ed what I could. Then took the rest of everything to go and happily ate it at home later. Overall I think the $10 plate is a pretty good deal considering save for the meat, it's basically and all you can eat buffet. I'll be back :D read more

Sadly, this was one of my favorite bbq restaurants. However, it has gotten worse over the years. Bland, bland, bland. The brisket used to be good. But recently, it has been under-seasoned (salt) and as if they don't smoke them at all. Good Texas brisket should be salted properly and smoked for hours. Their sides are not good either. The Mac and cheese used to be better, creamy and tasty. Now, it is just over cooked, bland and DRY. The baked potatoes are given to you with cold butter, and cheese, so it never melts. Good luck choking that down...And the prices have actually gone UP! I need more seasoning (salt/wood smoke) on the brisket before I would be willing to go back again. read more

Fri 05/20 After a 4 hr motorcycle ride we decided bbq was the solution to our hungry desires. --Brisket was moist and flavorful. Black Pepper sausage was awesome, not dry nor overcooked. $9.95 --Ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. (w/ brisket) $11.25 All you can eat sides--Cole slaw is different--bigger pieces of cabbage but I like it better than the normal ones. Beans and Potato salad werent too good. Lacked flavor. Maybe a hint more mustard and it woulda been perfect. Staff were extremely upbeat and friendly. Hot bread was fresh from the oven, delivered table-side by cheerful staff. Restaurant was packed! Save room for the peach cobbler 3.25. If Im ever in the area, I'll definitely be back. I tried to "check-in" after our meal but couldnt find it on yelp. We love Spring Creek and are regulars at the Katy location, but the food at this restaurant in The Woodlands is terrible. The macaroni and cheese has very little cheese. The green beans taste like vinegar. We switched them out for Fried okra and it tasted like grease. The tea was watered down. We won't be back. read more

We like Spring Creek Barbecue because we love the deal with the sides. The barbecue is authentic Texas barbecue and of course the bread is irresistible to say no to a second piece. I liked the beef and sausage plate and the desserts were tempting but I said no to myself. One can easily share a plate between two people to avoid over eating and a high priced bill. Be careful to everone who gets a plate of barbecue! The counter top is hot...I managed to burn my self but not to bad. Second, the free ice cream is only on Sundays. I booked the banquet room for a birthday party. I called to book the event and had a pleasant experience over the phone. I decided to go in person to ask a few more questions 2 weeks later. I found out that they did not book our event like they said. Thankfully, we got it sorted out. I couldn't imagine if we showed up on the day of the event and it was not booked. I arrived an hour before the event so things would be set up. The A/C in the event room was set on 77. Keep in mind it is summer in Texas. I spoke to the buser and he said he would get someone to change the A/C. Of course he did not. I spoke to the to-go girl and she had an awful attitude. She was also being stingy with the tickets. Finally,​ she came in and "fixed" the A/C. The room went from 77 to 80 the time we were there. Everyone was sweating. We talked to multiple people and they refused to help or offer a solution. There were some family members that ate there last weekend and they said the A/C was not working last weekend either. If you know you are going to have events then you should get the A/C working ASAP especially in the summer. We also had to ask 4 times to get a buser in the room to bus the tables. Of course nobody showed up so we had to bus our own tables. This was an awful experience. Spring Creek was not accommodating. We will not be visiting this location nor using the banquet room anymore. read more

Just ate here today and food was good however following covid guidelines is not happening at this restaurant. No sanitizer as you enter the restaurant. Tables are not six feet apart. Back to back booths are being seated without partitions. There is a sign that says to get a new glass when refilling you're drink and the customers aren't doing that. Even watched the manager refill his drink without a new glass. I watched a table that was being cleaned by an employee and he used a rag without any sanitizing cleaner and did not even wipe down the chairs. A customer got a salt and pepper shaker off of another table to use. The governor's rules are to have individual salt and pepper packets. So if you want to go to a restaurant that is following the guidelines for your safety I would not be going here. read more

Delightful staff - very helpful & friendly. Take out service is quick - just go directly to the register (don't wade through the buffet line). The drawback: brisket is (as mentioned by previous Yelpers) bland. The taste is flat - zero tanginess. Covered with their BBQ sauce, it's very good but decent brisket stands on it's own. Over 45 minute wait time for an online order. I was even 15 minutes early and came in before a rush. They served walk in to go orders before me. Very frustrating. By the time they decided to give me my food, it was on the shelf behind the staff the entire time. They had down time and not a single person came to ask me my name or check the tickets ready to go. They just kept busy with tasks instead of taking care of the in person costumer. I love their food but the service makes me think twice before ordering to go ever again. Excellent BBQ and lunch $9.95 special great value. Tastes like they use 50/50 hickory/oak blend. Just the perfect amount of smoke flavor. I loved the chicken. Something you don't find at many places. Incredibly juicy choice of white meat or dark on the bone. Brisket one of the best in North Houston. (I haven't tried Corkscrew yet. When off of Sawdust I always got there too late and they were sold out) Standard order is half fatty half lean but I recommend asking for 100% fatty. Very moist. Ribs are thick St Louis style but trimmed. Cooked to competition standard meaning NOT fall of the bone but with a slight pull off of the bone yet still tender. Sausage very fine grind with what tastes like kielbasa seasoning. I'm not wild about it but other family members love it. Only the pulled pork is a NO GO AWFUL. BSauce is a Cajun style with heavy worschestershire and lemon flavor. Get it on the side it's a love it or leave it flavor profile. Large selection of sides including smothered green beans and Mac and cheese in addition to standards. I loved the fried okra (costs extra). Made to order Fresh not frozen thin coating that tastes like it has some cornmeal in it. Only complaint is too greasy. Fresh made Parker house style rolls with free extras! Dessert is warm fresh made peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream. Went there recently for dinner and was mildly disappointed. Barbecue sauce changed to something that tastes like KC Masterpiece. Bread over baked and dry and hard. Potatoes in potatoe salad under cooked. Chicken very greasy. Actually several trays greasy. Had to pick up from stack in back. Spring Creek is always high quality. Wife stopped after work to pick up to gonorders for us. She ordered the 2 meat dinner with Brisket and sausage. When she got home we were verybdissappointed in the volume of product 4 sloces of brisket and 6 slices of sausage. For a $30.00 tab I would expect just a bit more brisket and sausage. I am from the Midwest and was told to try this bbq joint for good Texas bbq. It's pretty close tot be hotel so I figured why not. I will say, this bbq place is considered a small chain and was serviced by all younger (high school and college aged) employees and the service was excellent! Best part about the experience was the service and the "feel" of the location. Had to try the ribs and brisket (marbling) and was recommended the pepper sausage. Ribs and brisket were ok, a bit on the dry side but when you add the bbq sauce, it was amazing. The pepper sausage is not something I would have normally tried, but this was the best part of the meal hands down!!! I only like to review places that I like. But this experience was very unpleasant. I placed an order 15 minutes prior arriving, just 3 dinner plates and was told it would be done by the time I arrived. When I got there she told me that the order was not yet ready, which was fine, I thought they must be a little busy today. 15 minutes passed and I was getting a little uneasy because I was in a hurry. I had to interrupt her from talking with her friend to ask about my order, she came back to work mode and said "let me go check", just then her friend said "what's that order?" And pointed behind the register, it was my order!!! I saw that order as soon as I came in!! I was frustrated the food was cold and I now had to rush to the house. I love Spring Creek BBQ. Great food, great environment, great service. I'm not sure if this place is family owned but it sure does look like every employee is part of one happy family. Few places have a such genuinely friendly and happy staff. Makes you feel comfortable and chill. The food is terrific as well.
