Well today he was a rock star, calling out orders nice and loud, serving with steady hands and a big smile and it was just a true pleasure to see him grow so much in 3 months working the front of the line!!! Honestly, pretty good food. The smoked wings available on weekends and the off-the-menu burger are our favorite items... But, there always seems to be issues with their customer service. Long waits, whether dining in or ordering to go, inattentive staff, and constant errors (missing items or receiving the wrong orders). Service issues seem to happen pretty often, unfortunately. Thankfully, management is willing to resolve the issues, but I think better training & supervision is really needed here. Still keep coming back for the food though. read more

Where's the beef! I have been ordering the beef ribs here for years. Not that long ago they were meaty and filled me up. Now they look like what's leftover after the butcher removes the meat. Probably the highest cost item on the menu. $35.00 for three ribs and hardly any meat. I see there are others pointing out the same issues with the beef ribs. I'm not coming back. You might have raised the profit margin 5.00 by skimping on the meat. But the loss if weekly revenue from customers that have gone there years will cost you way more than you saved trimming the meat to the bone. read more

The beef ribs that came with both orders hardly had any meat on the sides and had no meat on the top at all, what little meat was on the bone was very dry and over done. My coworkers and I ordered takeout, and the experience was extremely frustrating. When I picked up the order, several items were missing. Thankfully, I had printed receipts because I had to explain and verify multiple items with the staff. My meal included bread and two sides, as clearly stated on the website, and I also paid for an additional side. The bread was missing, and one side was not included. Despite showing the receipt and explaining that these were selections--not notes--I was told it wasn't included because it didn't print on their ticket. I was even told I would need to pay again for the bread. The manager became defensive and repeatedly accused me of "coming at her," even though I was merely asking for clarification. Eventually, the bread was provided, but the extra side I paid for was still missing. When we returned to work, the food was cold, the green beans were undercooked, and fries had to be reheated. We had a nice sized turkey I picked up hot and ready to eat. We were having Thanksgiving dinner for lunch so I picked up the sides the day before so they were baking while I went for the turkey. The Pappas family has long delivered great food and the barbecue was delicious as always. In checking our bill (already paid) we found we were charged for two soft drinks rather than only one. I drink only water. I took the receipt to counter and the young Latino man said he could give me a "free" dessert for the mistake. It would not have been free since we had been overcharged initially. Spring and the woodlands are home to some notable bbq joints, each with a personal flair that their postmaster brings to the table. When you stray into multiple locations, a homogenization occurs and that's true of pappa's bbq. Tonight we took on the beef trio. Brisket, beef sausage and a beef rib. Most places only serve beef ribs on the weekend but pappa's has them on the menu daily, a plus. The beef ribs elsewhere are huge and full of tender meat. The version here was much smaller (mini cows?) and dried out considerably. The carmelization was good. The brisket was moist with a small smoke ring and if decent quality. The beef sausage was relatively bland. Sides are just average, nothing stood out. Still if you're gonna do chain bbq this is one of your better options. read more

One day last month 2025 the ribs were old and didn't taste the best and this place is a good place, they neeed not to serve up old meat.

OK, let's start with the fact that as we were ordering, we were rushed through our ordering. Nobody was able to really do any of the customizations that buffet style barbecue should offer. And we're not talking crazy things here people I'm talking only pickles on a burger (edit: they still didn't make the burger right!) and I want my potato all the way. Basic things. There wasn't a single friendly face or experience I had. My husband ordered a three meat plate and said you know I don't want the sides so we figured OK fine he would get three meats maybe a little extra because he didn't get sides. Oh no in fact, they gave him less meat And then argued with us about whether or not he should be allowed to have the side since he didn't order them. It wasn't until I asked for a manager that anything got handled, including my daughter's missing sides. The papa's barbecue in Houston has 10 times better service. They're open boxes and open crates of food everywhere. It's not a welcoming environment and the music is so loud that you can't even have a conversation.
