Great atmosphere today. Very busy, staff were very friendly and happy. Brisket was very tender and juicy!! Enjoyed lunch today.

I called Spring Creek before I gave this review but the "Manager" Mike, hung up on me. Last night a large group of us came in for a party. I ordered a loaded baked potato. I tried to eat some but I kept getting large pieces of fat. I brought most of it home. Today I tried to eat it and I couldn't find any brisket meat, just thick white fat. My son said he specifically asked for the lean end but it was like they dumped nothing but fat pieces in mine. Almost half a bowl before I gave up. My advice? Go to another Barbque place. read more

I had the chance to lunch at this location for the first time. Usually, I base my opinion on the sliced beef brisket. This time I had the chicken lunch special. The plate came with one half of a smoked chicken, my choice of two sides and a fresh roll with a drink. Apparently they are proud of the food they serve because it cost a bit over twelve dollars after tax. Personally, I thought it should have been about ten, but I just eat the food I don't make it. While the chicken fell off of the bone ... quite literally ... It was not the highlight of the lunch plate. That was the green beans. The beans were tender, flavorful and cooked long enough to have some tooth still remaining. Overall, the meal was better than average, but not the best I have ever had. Absolutely horrible. The Mac & Cheese tasted like Kraft cheap box. The potato salad drowning in mayonnaise and mustard. The sausage was a cheap store brand, just bland and mushy. 36 bucks for trash. Got a Togo order from her last night thanks to the virus. And they were very fast and professional. Food was great! Got the St. Louis ribs and the chopped brisket baked potato ( ny fav thing here). Enjoyed the selection of BBQ cuts. My favorite is the chicken. A nice pepper bar and beer and pie and homemade ice cream. It's order at a cafeteria style counter. It's too bad the beer signs are understated as although I asked at the checkout, the person was distracted or something because she didn't mention they have beer. Great Place, Good Food, Customer Service and Excellent Brisket, and Sausage , Highly Recommended

Things have changed -- for the worse. We started coming to this restaurant several years ago and thought it to be first rate in every respect. It seems to be going down. We stopped by recently for an early dinner. Our first two trays were dirty with food on them. The check-out register was out of order; therefore, they combined dine-in with take out without a good revised system. After dinner, we decided to share a slice of pecan pie with ice cream. I went to the pie location, and no one ever came to help us. I then went to the check out and ordered. After paying, I was given a plastic container with an ice-cold slice of pie, which I took to the pie location for heating and the ice cream. I was told that they can't (won't?) heat the pie. I got a refund and left. I might add that I did not get any apology. Several months ago, I picked up a large take-out order and double checked to ensure we had the extra dozen rolls I had purchased. I was told they were in the sack. You guessed it -- I got home and there were no rolls at all. I called back to get a credit card refund. The restaurant is looking shabby and unclean. Food was fair, Service was horrible. Nathan hung up on me for trying to figure out why my bill was $7 higher than the same order 2 months ago. Half of a pigeon sized chicken and 3 side salads was $26.00. Last time same order was @ $18 for half chicken platter and 3 side salads (2 were counted as meal sides that come with the meal). Chicken size is not their fault, but being rude to a returning Customer, even over the phone, is inexcusable. Go to Dosey Doe Brewakfast and BBQ on Research across from Sonic instead... Its not that it was bad. It just wasn't good. I paid $55 for a full rack of baby backs a la carte and 2 small sides. For that kind of money the ribs should rock. Frankly they were bland without their sauce. A rib that isn't good enough to eat without sauce is not good enough to eat. Frankly, last week my son ordered baby backs at Outback (I know) and they were much better. That's just sad. read more

Spring Creek Barbecue if only more places could have awesome customer service like you! Went in here the other night to get some BBQ to go. There is an eat in line and a to go line. Well I had to check out how the meats and sides looked first instead of blindly going to the to go section and just ordering since it was my first time. The meats looked OK and I asked for samples of the pepper sausage which seemed only seasoned with pepper and and fatty brisket which had very average flavor and tenderness. The 2 men at the meat station were very friendly and even offered me more samples which I declined. The sides consisted that night of pinto beans, coleslaw, potato, mac & cheese and corn on the cob. I ordered 2 of the $9.95 beef and sausage dinner specials. The 2 young ladies at the to go counter offered me a free drink. I declined because I had ice water in the car but then wondered ah they're new maybe I could have gotten a free beer. Ha probably wishful thinking though. While waiting another very sweet young lady offered me a hot roll and I accepted. It was actually a very mini looking loaf style roll. Wow right out of the oven with great flavor and melt in your mouth texture, airy and a subtle sweetness. When my order was ready the young lady opened my to go boxes to make sure everything was to my approval without me asking. Perfectly packed also. The staff was all very professional and obviously trained very well. Kudos to the management for that. If you get your order to go you receive 2 sides. If you eat in you get unlimited amount of sides per dinner. So how's the food? BBQ sauce 3/5 Brisket 3/5 Pepper Sausage 3/5......Need more seasoning other than pepper Pinto Beans 3/5....... I hosted a surprise birthday party at this location and when I tell you the level of customer service that I receied FROM EVERYONE was AMAZING!! I spoke to about 3 managers leading up to the event, and each one (Isaac, Nathan and Brandon, I believe) were effortlessly hospitable and accommondating! For them to offer the private room for free, and the staff cleaning up afterwards - they really didn't "have" to be so helpful and kind, but they were and I truly appreciate it (even though this review is about 2 weeks overdue). I always ask that they remove the foil from my take out potato BEFORE they cut it because I don't want fragments of aluminum in my food. They always assure me they will. I just found fragments of foil in my food. Aluminum is not safe to use with food, in my opinion. I wish this place would honor my wishes instead of lying to me. read more

I always enjoy this place. Their staff is ALWAYS friendly and eager to serve their guests. They appear to enjoy their job and understand the concept of good customer service... with a smile I've enjoyed the loaded baked potato and the chopped beef sandwich. But the last two visits I've had the rib plate. I'm generally not into ribs but I sampled my husbands and I was hooked. They are perfectly seasoned and slide right off the bone they're so tender. All plates come with all the sides you can load on your plate, so come hungry. They also have someone come by your table with fresh baked rolls about every 15 minutes or so. They're soooo good, I find it hard to resist. Peach cobbler is baked daily and you can get it a la mode if you like. So if your looking for great BBQ and service, this is my recommendation! read more

Can someone please show me a BBQ place around here that will sit me down and serve me like a normal restaurant!!!! I'm sick of going into BBQ places and being herded through a line, like I'm a 3rd grader in the cafeteria. I came here for dinner last night and got the Rib 'special'. The ribs weren't special, the only thing special was the fact that they give me a non-whooping size of 4 ribs. You also get a roll and a side, mac and cheese for me. The roll was the highlight and I still only ate half of it. The mac and cheese was soupy and had minimal taste, much rather have had velvetta shells and cheese. The ribs were ok, they had a nice char on on the outside and decent taste, but had a bit more fat than I like. The BBQ sauce they top with if desired is boring and bland. The atmosphere is nothing special, as it is set up like every other BBQ place around here. They do have beer, so that's a plus and a must at a BBQ place. All in all, I wasn't impressed and won't be back.. they don't even have pulled pork.. come on now. read more

Been going there for years, the BBQ is great and I am mostly there for the rolls. Went there yesterday with guests from out of town and thought it odd the parking lot was empty compared to every other restaurant we passed coming from downtown Houston. The meat server was phenomenal as expected, but the guy who seemed to be running the place was horrible. No coke, no onions, and no rolls. Asked about a military discount and he said you had to be in uniform. And that is how easy is it to lose a customer. Forever. read more

The fresh bread is on the sweet side and was pretty good. I liked the ribs because they had a lot of bark-- and the sauce was tasty too. The shredded pork got tired after a few bites, though. Good BBQ. The sauce has a nice, sweet, classic taste to it. I got blended brisket which is a pretty good mix of fatty and lean. Can't go wrong with the potato salad and Mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan of the roll they give you, it's very dense and heavy. The fried okra basket is a must If you like okra. Ambience is great, that of a classic country town BBQ joint. I couldve done without the Florida Georgia Line Faux-Country pop blasting through the speakers, but that's just the country music purist coming out it me. Great place. read more

I used to love this place when dining in...you could get huge side servings and unlimited hot rolls! very disappointed doing curbside pickup - spent $30+ and only got 1 tiny roll - extras were .40 extra even tho they're unlimited when you dine-in!!!!!! The food is good here but with the abundance of amazing BBQ places in spring this place only gets 3 stars. You order at a counter here and they slice up the meat right infront of you and hand you it on a plate with a roll. Then you serve yourself as big a helping as you like of their sides ( beans, Mac n cheese, green beans, etc). There are premium sides too which cost extra, like French fries and fried okra. You also help yourself to pickles, onions, BBQ sauce and butter. You pay at the end of the counter and find a table. I got the $14 brisket plate with green beans and Mac n cheese. The brisket was moist but not flavorful. The green beans and Mac n cheese were good but nothing special. You do get a lot for the $14. Definitely enough meat for two people. Also, a lady was going table to table handing out hot fresh rolls. All in all, this is a good BBQ joint. You get your food fast and they don't run out like the smaller BBQ places, but in my opinion the flavor is lacking. read more

I was in the mood for some bbq and after reading multiple reviews I decided to check out spring creek despite the fact that other places had better reviews- this was solely for the convenience factor being that this place was about 3 minutes from my hotel. Overall the food was ok. The ribs and the brisket were good, not great. However the sides, especially the Mac and cheese were not nearly hot enough- in fact they were almost ice cold. The bread was delicious - piping hot right out of the oven. I found the meat portions on the combination plate to be rather small; however, I thought it was a plus that you could pile up as much of the sides as you wanted. I later found out that this was because the sides weren't good at all. Having been to multiple bbq places across the country I wasn't that impressed - but it certain wasn't the worst place I'd ever been to. I think next time I might opt for the longer ride and check out a different place in the area! read more

There was a lot of advertising and "hype" around this new place, so we tried it. I was honestly pretty let down. There were 5 people behind the counter and all of them ignored us when we walked in. When we finally got them to tear away from whatever riveting personal convos they were having, they rudely informed us that they were out of brisket. They weren't helpful with informing us of anything really, and we eventually got the 2 combo plate. Meager portions for $15, quite honestly. The sides were tasteless, the peppered sausage was horrible, the BBQ sauce was thin and tasteless, and the beer was not cold. This restaurant has one of the best barbecues in the area. And the lunchtime special is the greatest. It's currently (8/12/17) $9.95 for a roll, two sides and your barbecue. There are additional sides, fried okra being one, that you can get instead, but you have to ask. Word of warning, they appear to add extra salt to the okra. We plan to ask them to skip that next time. People on salt restricted diets can't eat all the extra salt being added to foods today. When you can always add it yourself I'm not sure why restaurants do that. We also ordered a piece of pecan pie to share. It was so good and there was more than enough for us to share. During our meal, a nice young lady came around several times to see if we wanted more rolls. I guess I should mention we are senior citizens and usually take part of our meal home. Definitely not high quality meat or ingredients, corn on a cob is frozen and reheated and not sweet as it should be, turkey is gooey and not seasoned enough for a bbq turkey. Coleslaw has garlic in it!! Who puts garlic in a sweet coleslaw?? Find a moms and pops bbq place it would be way better and support your community! read more
