Bad Turkey

Tried the Spring Creek BBQ Thursday the 29th of January 2026, the prices are the highest in DFW, and the meat is at best poor quality , the sides are OK, corn is a 5 star, and bread is a 5 star always fresh cooked, i don't order beef any more as it is dry and just a low quality meat, I only order turkey this time, ate 1 slice and noticed the turkey had a bad spot in it , so I just ate the one slice and brought the rest home to our dogs, the cost for a few rolls and a 1/2 half corn on the cob was way - way high, if i go back, i will only order vegetables and rolls.

Southern Californian visiting my pops in Arlington, TX. We went to Spring Creek for the first time and this place delivers! The meats and sides were fresh and delicious! Loved the rustic country feel of the place too. First we met William, "person who gave meat". He not only did that, he chopped our brisket live and explained the process like a guru. He was good, very good. Then was Shelby "person who gave sides", I'll add "Queen of the sides", "master of mac n' cheese". She made the sides and she knew everything. Every. Thning. She gave us BBQ sauce and sent us on our way! Then Maya, who checked us out so fast, so smooth and efficient. Too perfect imo. So how does a place run this well? I wish I met the General Manager and the one who hired these fine folks!! We need this in Cali! So I know my pops will be back and I'll definitely be back when my LA Dodgers play your TX Rangers! 02/10/25 Monday dine-in.

Well, cafeteria style which I'm not a fan, but, is what it is... Combo - Ribs, Chicken, Mac & Cheese, D. Coke & piece of Banana Crean Coconut Pie. We both had same, but other half had Pinto Beans & Green Beans, Banana Pudding. Total $63.00 Ribs greasy. Chicken delious! Mac & Cheese couldn't eat it, lousy. Green Beans good & Pinto Beans AWESOME! Dessert, mine, Pie, still frozen Banana Pudding good. You have to get a tray and move down a 'line' where they serve you. The metal runner our tray was on was filthy!! Hadn't been wiped down at all Should of been our 1st clue ... Will we be back, NO. With so many choices in Arlington, TX, please, I can find better. Would I recommend? NO, sorry.

Fresh bread , mac and cheese , brisket , Baby Back Rib Dinner

The most delicious ribs we have ever tried they slid right of the bone! The brisket was well seasoned and had beautiful crust . The staff is extremely friendly and nice , we dined in the place is clean and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area !

It was ok. First time here but I felt the chicken tasted a little dry. The bread was great though.

The guy that cuts the meat is so rude. I should never walk into a restaurant in a good mood and leave in a bad one because of an employee.

I recommend the…read moreTex-Ethiopian platter for a thorough sampling of all the best things this restaurant offers! It includes: Smoked Doro Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew), Awaze Rib Tip Tibs, Awaze Brisket, Awaze Pork Ribs, your choice of 2 sides, Texas Toast, gluten-free teff injera, and rice pilaf! The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. If it's just me eating with no one to share, I like to get the Big Ash loaded baked potato. Your choice of meat on a perfectly fluffy hot potato with plenty of butter and sour cream -- it's soooo comforting and delicious!

I expected "knock your socks off" but got very good food instead. I expected a packed dining room but at 12:30 it was almost empty. We ordered the sample plate for 2 which included ribs, brisket, rib tips, and doro wat (chicken stew) with rice, injera and we got beefy collard greens and cabbage with carrots sides. The ribs were excellent. I also really liked the chicken stew. I was surprised by the sour flavor of the injera. The thin bbq sauce was tasty while it was not sweet or full of vinegar. It was a nice alternative to traditional sauces. While we enjoyed our meal, and I would order the ribs and chicken stew again, this place is a bit too far for a repeat. But it introduced me to Ethiopian food which I can find closer to home. I love the creativity of the owners.

The tortillas come out crispy with that perfect little cheese crust, and the meat is super tender and packed with flavor. You can tell they put some real time into cooking it right. The best part is dipping the tacos in the consommé. That broth is rich and smoky and just takes the whole taco to another level. It's messy, but that's how you know it's good. While we had a plan going in to ordering, we still overestimated ourselves. We wanted to get a little of a lot of things and definitely would've ordered less. (However, we're proponents of savoring and appreciating the few bites you have - which is hard to quantify when you're ordering by the pound). The pork belly was easily our favorite (a surprise for us); I liked it without the peach glaze and he liked it with. Both sides of the brisket were phenomenal and the smoke ring was thick. Ribs were delicious but by this point we were wishing we split one. The slaw I was initially feeling would be underwhelming but it perfectly cut through the grease and fat of the meat. The potato salad was Dijon forward which I usually wouldn't be a fan of but this was done with balance. The bread. Tangy and chewy and wow a big surprise on how delicious it was. We asked if we could sample the turkey (but ordering turkey wasn't part of our plan) and can honestly say it was the best turkey I've ever had at a BBQ place and they threw in a slice for us. Banana pudding. Get it. I think it's worth the wait in line for sure. Bring a snack, a drink, a book , or game to play and you'll notice the time flying by like we did. We came at noon on a gloomy Thursday morning and we were able to sit down and eat our food at 1pm. Service was quick! Staff was extremely friendly and hilarious, making the experience a good one from top to bottom. Great job, team. Barbecue was TO DIE for. Some of the best I've had in all of DFW. It's a bold claim, I know, but you've gotta go try it for yourself. Brisket was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing, and the sides were PHENOMENAL. Great mac and cheese. The space is clean, small, and cozy. Would love for more seating for the sake of the line, but I understand the hype and exclusivity appeal. Very southern, very mobile-home, very cool. Well done.

I came back on early Saturday evening after a nice cooling rain. It was pleasantly not crowded. I got a couple of empanadas from one truck and a couple of smash burgers from another. You could tell they were made fresh with chunks of avocado and bacon for me! The empanadas were good if a bit small. The dough pocket could have been premade, so I'll have to try something else from that food truck. I picked it up on Wednesday and on a Thursday after heating it up as I unwrapped it was a Turkey breast. We were all looking forward to brisket but ate it since it was the only main entrée. I say this because after my experience with the manager Erin, she made me feel we were not suppose to eat it and return it in whole. I called on Friday since they were closed on Thursday. The manager asked me to bring the turkey breast leftovers I had so she could replace it with the brisket. I got upset and explained it's 1/2 gone. She said I understand but you need to bring it. I told her I would be there in 30 mins and hung up. I was in disbelief but still gave them the benefit I thought she needs to see prove. I arrived and the whole situation went horrible on their part. I maintained civil but now I regret it. A young lady acknowledge me and knew who I was. She took my turkey breast leftovers. I waited for awhile and I could see that Erin didn't know how to handle the situation because she involved other employees. I started to feel uncomfortable like all Earles were on me. I maintained my composure. And then Erin and another guy walked over to me, they didn't apologize nor seemed concerned as if they were being inconvenient. They just asked "You have your receipt". I showed it to them from my phone, she took my phone and observed as she expected me to be lying. I told her " I only ordered brisket not sure how they could get this wrong". She just mumbled, handed my phone and they all walked back to the prepping area. Waited for a bit finally she come to the front register and I walked over to her and she says "Was this the only order you had that day". Now I got upset and got loud told her "Yes it was my first and last time I will order from here". She then proceed to explain why the amount of brisket was being given to me. I cutt her off told "Let's just get this over with". I grabbed the bag and told her "I will be calling corporate and giving a review". Mostly I was disappointed and pissed at their behavior. I felt as if I did something wrong. They kept my leftovers, I don't understand that part. An apology goes a long way....sure didn't get one from management.
