I wouldn't say that I am huge on BBQ to begin with, however if given the choice I would pick Hurtado Barbecue every time. I love the idea of BBQ with a little Mexican food influence. A highlight for me is the tacos, I would probably order this every time I go. The food itself all has some uniqueness to it and you can't go wrong with anything you order. I would recommend this location over the one in near the football stadium in Arlington. There was a lot of space here and a short line to order. Overall great unique spot for some SOLID BBQ with some personality.

You already know, they are known for their BBQ!...so I ordered ahead and was lucky to find parking, so I sat and ate at the restaurant. Parking is a challenge. Burnt ends were sooooo good , my fav ! The bacon ranch potato salad was missing something , not the best, but the elote made up for it , the banana tres leches pudding isssss amazing yum! I got a Texas Twinkie and I'm obsessed! The menu is rather large, they have smash burger as well. I'm gonna have to go back to try all the things. Everyone was so friendly , really enjoyed our meal at this location. That's all for now

I don't eat red meat. I don't eat red meat. I don't e... I would like the brisket tostada, please! Hurtado hurt me so good! Geez, this Tex-Mex, BBQ fusion situation is good. I've known about them for a while. I heard the Arlington location is better. I don't know. What I do know is that I didn't feel guilty for eating their brisket. If I'm going to eat red meat, I want it to be good red meat. Ya know?! Everyone enjoyed their choices. The cornbread was muffin like, soft, and flavorful. The beans were yummy. The sometimes picky, little people raved about the brisket birria. Unfortunately, non red meat/pork options are limited. Maybe add a turkey sandwich or jalapeno chicken sliders to the menu. Just a suggestion, Chef. Now here's the issue. Seating. It's limited. Unless you sit in the back patio section (it was too hot for this), there's no room when it gets busy. We tried to go to the Fort Worth location when family came into town. Same. We walked in and immediately walked out because of the lack of seating.

This is my third Hurtado location to visit. I'm a huge fan! All of Hurtado's meats are fantastic, especially the brisket and ribs. They have unique sides. Even something like Mac'n'cheese is jazzed up with flavor. The manager and pit master were awesome to allow us to check out the smokers. You gotta go to Hurtado!!

Loved it. This was my 3rd visit to this location. We brought out of town friends here for dinner and Hurtado's did not disappoint. The ordering line was longish. My wife grabbed a booth while the rest of us stood in line. For our friends, the time in line allowed them plenty of time to study the menu. The four of us ordered: - 1# of Pork Ribs, 1 link Jalapeno Sausage, Tater Tot Casserole and Green Beans - Birria Taco and Cole Slaw - Burger and Hatch Chile Mac and Cheese The ribs were excellent. They're spare ribs, so they're fatter than baby backs, but they were seasoned and smoked nicely and were very tasty. The sausage was excellent as well. Just enough heat. The green beans had onions and bacon and were great. The Tater Tot casserole was decent as well. My friend had the Birria taco. She does not care for food that has any spice with heat and surprisingly, she felt it was a bit hot for her - yet she enjoyed her taco. Her husband had the burger and Hatch Chile Mac and cheese and enjoyed both. In addition to the food and just as importantly is the staff at this location. Every single one of them I encountered this visit was very pleasant, seemed very appreciative of us being there and were so helpful. Great attitudes all around. I'm so happy to have a Hurtado's so close to where our new home will be.

Maybe my tastebuds are a little different, but I'm just not seeing what the hype is about. On my recent visit I ordered all of the things because I have the appetite of a varsity football player. All of the sides were just...ok. Everything was just lacking flavor. Mac & cheese, green beans, beans, elote...they were all just ok. That seems to be a common weakness for all of the popular bbq places in TX so I'm not really surprised. The ribs and brisket were good though. Great smokey flavor, tender, and the meat was falling off the bone like it was supposed to do. No sauce needed! But speaking of sauce, it was a miss for me. Way too sweet and too thin (that's a personal preference though). Another miss was the chicken. It was very photogenic but tasted chewy and bland. Like they just poured a bunch of honey on the chicken and threw it in the oven to bake. The staff there was soo sweet and kind that I didn't have it in me to tell them that I didn't like my chicken and sides. I just dumped the sides and took the chicken home to make chicken salad. My friends rave about the beef ribs though so I might give those a try. Hurtado shines with its pork and beef so I'll just stick with those if I return.

I just checked into my hotel, took an Uber to Hurtado's, and enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in a very long time... I knew I wanted brisket but thought maybe I'll just get a chopped sandwich... Thank you, Antonio for sending me straight to Texas Trinity is exactly what I needed. I didn't fly all this way not to try a Texas Twinkie, which was almost as good as my burnt ends. I'm taking a tub of banana pudding back to the hotel, I did sneak a couple bites and it is absolutely delicious Hutt's barbecue is doing everything right keep up the great work gang. Can't wait to see you next year.

Different than the Arlington location you can't see what you're ordering. But they let you sample things. The Mac n cheese taste like nachos. That BBQ chicken was the best one I've ever eaten. Interesting spin on things.

Let me tell y'all I have been in the Arlington/Mansfield area since 2019 and I am mad at myself for not trying this barbecue place sooner. I have always heard people talk about it and how good it is so today I made a last minute decision to try it. I arrived an hour before they closed on a Saturday and the service was pretty fast even though it was a good amount of people in there. This location was clean and the lighting was dim but very inviting. Once I got back home, I opened it up and the food looked and smelled really good. The presentation had already roped me in. I ordered the Beria tacos and the mac & cheese with green chiles and the brisket beans. I initially ordered elotes but they were out.I took that first bite of food and just had to shake my head because it was so darn good. The flavors paired perfectly together and the more I chewed it the better it got. The mac and cheese was creamy with the right amount of sauce. If you don't like beans you will after eating the ones here... VERY VERY flavorful! Now the birra tocos ..... brisket was juicy, well seasoned, and the toppings set it off. I almost forgot to tell you I ordered 3 tacos thinking one wouldn't be enough and they are not stingy with the filling at all! I was full after the first one. I vow to never eat at another barbecue place ever unless there's no way to get here. I mean the food was so delicious I had to call someone and tell them about it. We will for sure be back! Don't be like me... add this place to your next meal no need to debate.

    El Jefe and Texas Twinkies
    Cindy N.

I think the downtown Arlington location was better. The meat was cold, the Mac and cheese was cold. They should butter and toast the bread...we just got plain bread, which I think is common? Texas Twinkies were good and super spicy, just how we like them. Service was good. This one is closer, but think we will make the trek to downtown if we want it again.

Went in a party of 6 and ordered two El Jefe platters and we still had left overs. The staff were really nice and helpful when we ordered and food came out pretty quickly. The BBQ is delicious. No complaints. Plenty of seating for parties of 4 in the middle and then bigger parties along the wall in booths. Overall loved it.

Omg, what a wonderful experience all the way around!!! And the food did not disappoint, we'll have to get the pit tour next time because we are stuffed lol! Delicious Must do the sampler player not sure of the name but well worth it!!! We will be back for sure!!

We stayed inside but it was good to see they had something for kids. My curiosity was piqued when I saw barbecue tacos on the menu. That's not something I have had, but my husband has. I went for something I was familiar with, Birria tacos. Omg! They were filled with meat and cheese, and were lightly fried. Anytime I've gotten birria, there is some fat and juice involved, and theirs was similar. It lends to the flavor. The meat was tender and the broth that it is served with is SO tasty! It was a little spicy but a friend and I agreed the flavor is beautiful! I'm an intermittent faster and a light eater,so I was ready for this meal, but one taco and Mac n cheese was enough for me, but my husband ordered two bbq tacos and shared in on the Mac n cheese. The cheese was very flavorful and the macaroni was cooked between al dente and stracotto. We finished it, no problem! The service was good. At the counter we were greeted with two gentleman slicing and dicing all the proteins. A tray stacked with the goods we made our way to a table. First bite of brisket without sauce.... Perfect, literally the way I think a brisket should be served hot dripping with juices. No one asked what type of cut or the dreaded "lean or wet" question was asked nor was it needed. Brisket and sauce was just as delectable. The bark was well rounded never offensive or bitter. The Lao sausage was a well received addition though maybe not the compliment to the brisket. By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

I want to preface this by saying, I enjoyed my food as part of a Too Good To Go order and, everything was delicious and I also got a great variety of items. The restaurant is located on the far left side of the Mansfield HEB store and has a drive thru on the outside left side as well. In my bag this evening they provided me with, a baked potato, brisket, mac & cheese, and a creamed corn. The baked potato was great, and I really appreciate that it came with all the fixings, it was also salted on the outside and cleaned! The mac & cheese was creamy, smooth, and noodles cooked well. We got the sliced brisket sandwich, chopped brisket sandwich and the loaded chili cheese Fritos and everything was delicious! The sandwiches could have had more bbq sauce on them for me, but the smoked flavor of the meat was very good. The loaded chips were a great cheat meal/snack and kid-approved. Although we didn't eat in the store, it was very clean and tidy. The guy who handed me my food was pleasant and it was seamless. We'll definitely be back to try more items in the menu!
