The World Famous Sprig Cab Burger Dinner
Julia C.

You have to make your way over to the Oak Grove neighborhood to try this local gem, Sprig!!! Everything from the menu to the service is so thoughtfully done and curated! They have an incredible Gluten Free selection, which is not why we went, but I noted that if you were GF, this would be your heaven-on-earth. As you may notice, the menu is on the pricier side compared to other joints in the neighborhood. I'm here to tell you, it's WORTH it! I had an absolutely delicious Pot Roast. Everyone in my group of 5 got something different but loved it just to same. Fun fact: there's a hidden speakeasy inside the restaurant you should try out before/ after/ in lieu of dinner in the main restaurant. This place is EXCELLENT! Can't wait to return now.

Located at the end of a small strip mall, free parking in front, came on the week day. Did not have a reservation were seated immediately outside. Nice and quiet atmosphere. The menu change every season, nice menu, reasonable prices. Service was good, they accommodated our changes on the dishes. The portions were generous. The trout, the catfish, the chocolate ganache cake were good. Easy casual local restaurant will try again for brunch this time. Support local

Great ambience, great service and delicious food. I felt like the grill cheese was over the top rich but otherwise everything was fabulous. Would definitely eat here again.

Have eaten at the restaurant a few times and always very good. But, this time we went with some friends and tried the Speak Easy at the back/side of the restaurant. Once in we were welcomed by the two bartenders who were awesome! The place has a very cool vibe like that of an old time bar! The cocktails were awesome and especially like Nathan's two shaker mixing of cocktails while bending backwards! He must have been working on his flexibility! Thanks for a fun closing of the evening!

Veggie omelette with grits. Cheese extra.

Nice place for brunch on a rainy Sunday, though I imagine it's great on non-rainy days too. I had the veggie omelette with grits. It was very good. I liked all the vegetables in the omelette and I added cheese, but the cheese was not really noticeable. There were a lot of mushrooms. Plenty of filling, maybe not quite evenly distributed. My bowl of grits was fine. I specified no cheese, but it came with cheese on top anyway. The grits could have been more buttery and looser; these were very solid, like a bowl of baked polenta. Along with brunch I had the harvest mule cocktail that was cozy and tasty. Then I had the cherry pie a la mode. The pie crust was great, the filling fine, a little too gelatiny for me, but nothing at all wrong with it. With the scoop of ice cream it was the perfect sweet to end the meal. I'd eat here again. Service was very good. We had sufficient attention for things like water glass refills. Good parking lot, just know that you are not allowed to turn left into it from one direction. I drove past and turned around in the tiny park next to the shopping center.

We had a reservation for 5 for brunch at 11:30 am on Sunday, 7/28/24. Sean was our waiter and he was wonderful! So patient with us! The average age of the customers skewed higher. Seems like a lot of retirees frequent the restaurant. Everyone was very sweet! They have a good selection of liquor at the bar, and it seems like they're known for their whisky. Very casual. They have high chairs! We split 2 appetizers and each got our own entrée. Here's what we got: - Pimento Cheese Fritters ($14): Good. - Blueberry Baked French Toast ($14): Glad we split this. It was really good and sweet, but I couldn't have eaten the entire dish myself. - Sprig Classic Burger ($14) with Sweet Potato Fries (+ $2): The burger was good. The fries would've been great if they weren't so salty. Others in my party had the Veggie Omelet ($14), Chilaquiles ($14), and Breakfast Croissant ($14). All were pretty average. The veggies weren't cooked into the omelet, just sandwiched between the egg. The portions were also pretty small. Decent food, reasonably priced, portions on the smaller side. Good service!

This place is popular with the locals and i can see why! You might miss it if you're just driving by or scanning the area for something to eat but i definitely recommend stopping by. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is fantastic! So far i've had their quinoa salad, grit fries, world famous burger, eggs Benedict, and Spinach salad with grilled chicken (not pictured). All have been delicious and i think about going back on a daily! Special shout out to the manager Heather who is such a pleasant person to speak with and a joy to be around. Oh yea, did i mention they have an extensive WHISKEY BAR??? Literally a wall of different whiskeys ready to tantalize your tastebuds. Just amazing. I'm Completely sold on this place.

Grit fries

One of the greatest disappointments of recent times. We were hoping this would be a neighborhood go-to but the food just wasn't that good. I had the grit fries and fried green tomatoes as my entree. They had the same breading and I kind of regretted getting two things that were so similar. The grit fries were actually good and I liked the sauce it was served with. I asked for no goat cheese on the tomatoes and had to send it back when it came out with it on there. There was a cilantro lime sauce on it that was not the right flavor profile and kind of ruined the tomatoes themselves. My bf had the swordfish which was dry and served with rice that was also not well prepared. Our waitress was new and seemed very overwhelmed, at one point at the verge of tears having also messed up a few things with the table next to ours. She was nice, and was trying. The saving grace of the meal was the cocktails. We *may* return for that. We had asked to be seated outside (with no reservation) and the cute area on the side was full so we were basically at the curb of the parking lot out front. We noticed that anyone under 30 years old who arrived were directed towards the speakeasy? So there's that.

We hand a little wait while our was being prepared. So me and a friend grabbed a Spicy Mexico City at the bar. It was pretty good. The brunch menu has expensive with plenty of options. There something for everything on there. For our starters we had the Okonomiyaki fries, Peruvian chicken gyoza tacos and the watermelon salad. The Okonomiyaki fries were amazing. The reminded of like a bbq fry. Absolutely loved the flavor. The salad and tacos were also great. For our mains we had the spicy miso herb Caesar salad with poke tuna and the spicy tuna "toast". We all loved it. Both dishes were perfectly portioned and full of flavor. I forgot to take photos, but the decor in the restaurant is super cute. There plenty of seating throughout including the bar, the main area and. The patio area. I'm looking forward to coming back

Our server was Robin. He was pleasant and had really good service. He told us to relax and not worry about the restaurant closing. That made us feel better. Maya and Robin told us to come back for brunch so we did. The food during during was amazing. We got the ahi tuna tacos and the edamame and shared the burger and the salad. Everything was colorful and full of flavor. There isn't one item that left us disappointed. For brunch we came back and had the tuna tacos again. My husband loved them so much he ordered them two more times. We also had the bao Benedict and the tuna toast, which came recommended by Maya. All amazing. Also try the fruit salad and the nachos! For drinks we had the cold brew martini and the Caribbean Coffee made by Jess who was also very kind. I told my husband that the good, colorful food combined with the ambience and amazing service made me feel like I was on a vacation. I love this place and have added to one of my favorites. Cheers!

A friend recommended this new spot because they offer $1.50 oysters and other happy hour specials on Thursdays. There were four of us in our party. While I didn't partake in the oysters, my group ordered them plate after plate and genuinely loved them. Our server (whose name escapes me) seemed overwhelmed. She took our drink orders, and despite the hefty $17 price tag, I ordered off the specialty cocktail menu. I chose the lychee spiked lemonade, but it tasted exclusively like sweet lemonade with zero alcohol......plus, it was the skinniest drink I've ever seen in my life. For my main, I ordered the honey-glazed lamb chops cooked medium. Three chops came out: one was very large and undercooked (more like medium-rare), which wasn't to my liking, though the flavor itself was good. The other two were cooked well-done, but by that point, we had already waited long enough for our drinks and food. The meal came with mashed potatoes, which were pretty decent, alongside a very underwhelming portion of broccoli. The vibe and atmosphere were nice, but I'm not sure I'd return. That said, it definitely seems like a great spot for oyster lovers.

I remember back in 2020 the owner telling me that they had the LEIDENHEIMER bread flown in from New Orleans weekly. I do believe the bread on a Po'boy makes all the difference. I've tried quite a few Po'boys from here. I've had the grouper, chicken tender and the shrimp, but my absolute favorite is the cheeseburger Po'boy. The burger blend that they use is so good. The remoulade sauce definitely takes it up a notch, but I prefer my Poboy with mayonnaise and they can make it that way. I've never eaten upstairs but downstairs is huge. There's a really big bar. There's a lot of high top table seating. They have arcade games. It's just a great space to enjoy time with your friends. There's plenty of TVs to watch any of the sports games that are on. The bartenders are nice and they really take care of you. Honestly, I think there's something for everyone on the menu. They also have desserts, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that they have. I think the bread pudding is too sweet. Now, if they added a brownie with praline sauce and pecans and bourbon ice cream that would be amazing. Some of my photos are from 2020 to the present.

WHO DAT in Atlanta!…read more As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan living in the Atlanta area, I genuinely appreciate finding an official Saints bar that actually pairs the game-day atmosphere with New Orleans-style food. The Po'Boy Shop in Decatur does exactly that. I had visited before and tried a few different po'boys to go, and they were great, but this time I decided to stay and watch the Saints game. That completely changed the experience for me. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--Saints fans, good energy, football on the TVs, New Orleans food, and a crowd that was actually invested in the game. It felt like a legitimate gathering spot for the Who Dat Nation rather than simply a restaurant that happens to show football. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and once again, the po'boys delivered. It's hard to beat watching the Saints with other fans while eating a good New Orleans-style po'boy hundreds of miles away from Louisiana. What I appreciate most is that The Po'Boy Shop gives Saints fans around Atlanta a place that actually feels like our spot on game day. Win or lose, that kind of atmosphere makes watching the game more enjoyable. Good food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. And plenty of Saints energy. I'll absolutely be back--especially on game days--and highly recommend The Po'Boy Shop to anyone looking for New Orleans-style food or fellow Saints fans searching for a home away from the Dome in the Atlanta area. WHO DAT!
