Heirloom tomato salad

Service was excellent but the food wasn't anything special. I think I would go back for the pizza only. The pasta was served more than Al dente and the sauce lacked flavor. It seems like a very nice family friendly establishment but not somewhere I would go on a date night. There are some cute decorations around but the ambiance isn't what I would expect from a nicer Italian place.

Been wanting to try this spot for a while! I actually came a few times in the summer and they had closed early, so I'm happy school (Emory) is back in session, and theyre back to their normal hours. The food was delish! The bar/ drinks are even better. I felt like everything was a good value. For me, the starters were a high light. Arancini was the best I've ever had at a restaurant! I normally don't order it, but I'm SO glad we got it! Totally worth it! I KILL for Artichokes anywhere I can get them; these are prepared as halved hearts (larger than a canned artichoke heart, but smaller than a full artichoke, halved): with amazing and refreshing flavors that combine the whipped ricotta, seamlessly. Warning: at first taste, the cauliflower was delicious and we thought it would steal the show as the BEST dish of the night! But it does have a fishy/ sardine-y after-taste: probably something written in plain sight on the menu, that we just missed! Our service was the best part. Loved our friendly, helpful bartender/ server, Katie! We had so many questions and she knowledgeably and patiently served us, educating us on broader knowledge about pizza and even beverage/ alcohol histories! Can't wait to dine-in at the bar again.

I've been to Double Zero a couple of times, and each time I enjoyed my experience there! The most recent visit, I had the Funghi Tortelloni which was very filling, rich, and delicious. We also ordered the salmon, which was cooked really well. I've also been to Double Zero for Valentine's Day and tried their prix fixe menu which was very tasty and nicely thought out for us to enjoy the experience. The service has been great every visit, and the ambience is nice and clean, with lighting being not too dark. There's also usually free street parking nearby which is a plus!

I came here after a big reservation for my birthday. The location is in Emory Village, conveniently near Emory University. There's limited parking around there, whether it is the few spots on the street or nearby parking lots like the Jimmy John's. The atmosphere is quite dim with soft lights. Our server was nice, but I think she was overwhelmed with the number of people and that a lot of people weren't ready for drinks or food yet. It's so convenient and easy to use the QR code to pay or split the bill, compared to the server manually splitting food between customers. People who shared food could easily pick which guest their food was listed under and pay for it. She was also sweet enough to take a group picture of us. The garlic bread was amazing!!! It was delicious and super garlicky. The bread was soft on the inside but had a good crunch on the outside. I got the spicy speziato, which was a spicy shrimp with squid ink pasta. The sauce had a good kick to it, so I wound up dipping the plain pizza crust into it too. The pizza was a thin crust, but I think there was a wide crust and lot of fresh arugula on top. Squid ink is just used for food coloring and has no added taste for those who were wondering. The duck risotto also looked phenomenal, but could have had more meat. The risotto was nice and cheesy too.

Not your average pizza place- top notch!! The service was great and Justine (our server ) gave great suggestions. We took them all and it did not disappoint. Place is much larger invader than it lies from the outside. Good music selection and great dinner lighting. It's in the heart of Emory so be prepared during the school semester parking will be at a premium. Just be careful you don't over order- portions are perfect!!

Very friendly staff at this cool dimly lit restaurant! (But not too dim) The kids pizza is amazing apparently because my son ate the entire thing and it's literally huge for a kid. The pastas I've tried here were all really good. A good place to go with friends. There is parking on the street and across from the restaurant.

We used to dine at Double Zero all the time when they were located in Sandy Springs. The service and the food was always on point. We loved it there! For Valentine's Day this year, we went to the Emory Village location and quite honestly weren't impressed. i don't know if its standard or just because of the occasion, but the hostess literally started the night off by telling us how much time we were allotted to dine for. That instantly turned us off. we felt rushed throughout the meal and when our wine glasses were empty, we weren't even asked if we'd like another. We did love the garlic knot and calamari. The short rib was okay. i don't think we'll back again. i don't know if there was a change in ownership/management, but if so we miss the old team and menu.

Had the most amazing meal at Double Zero this week!! Everything we ate was sooo delicious and our service was amazing. The chicken parmesan and caesar salad were for sure my favorite!! This spot is right in Emory Pointe, and there are lots of other great spots to make this a full date night. Definitely get to this spot if you have been trying to for awhile!! It is fun and YUM!!

Where to even begin with Double Zero?! The food here was EXCELLENT. We went for my father-in-law's birthday. There were 6 of us total. Highly recommend making a reservation, as it's a pretty popular restaurant. This location is right in Decatur, right on Emory University's campus. To start, we all shared the garlic knot and the fritto misto. We got two orders of the garlic knot, as it's essentially one big knot, that you share. It was so good. The butter on top was such a good add-on, and the bread pulled apart so nicely. The fritto misto was enjoyed by our group (I am not a fan of calamari, but they all said it was really good.) This fritto misto did have some pieces of shrimp in it as well, which I had a piece of, it was quite good. For my main course, I got the chicken parmesan and got a pasta add-on of cacio e pepe. When I tell you this is the best chicken parmesan I have ever had, I mean that with 100% truth! It was EXCELLENT. It wasn't a huge piece of chicken in the sense that it was so thick, but it was big in the sense of the size of the entire piece of cutlet. It had the perfect amount of crispiness and softness to it. It also came with a side salad too. You can choose from a pasta add-on of cacio e pepe and pasta pomodoro (for an additional cost). I got the cacio e pepe. It was so good. The perfect amount of everything. My fiancé got the ravioli al formaggio. This dish was also excellent. It was flavorful and had the perfect amount inside each ravioli. If you haven't noticed by now....all the food we got was incredibly flavorful. From the appetizers to the entrées, everything was a 10/10. Our group also shared a bottle of red which was recommended by our server. The service at Double Zero is far from terrible. Our server was incredibly attentive and continuously checked on our table throughout the entire evening. He engaged in conversation with us unrelated to dinner and made suggestions when appropriate at the same time. The only reason that I am not giving Double Zero 5 stars, is because parking is an absolute madhouse. There is a lot directly behind the restaurant, but fills up very quickly around dinner time. I had to circle the area about 3 times before I found a spot that opened up. Other than that, everything else is 5 stars. I highly recommend dining at double zero. Whether it be for lunch or dinner for 2 or for 10, you won't be disappointed.

We were in town visiting for a conference and tried out Double Zero because the shuttle from the Emory Conference hotel took us there. It was a Monday night and took advantage of half priced bottles of wine. The service was great and the food was very good too. I had the margarita pizza and was surprised that it comes uncut and they bring you scissors to cut it yourself. It works well if you are sharing and don't want big slices. The decor is nice and enjoyed our experience there.

How is the outdoor seating?

I have actually never seen anyone using the outdoor tables but it is available. It looks out over North Decatur Road, so not exactly scenic.

Website says they are closed on Sundays but voicemail for restaurant gives hours including Sunday hours. Does anyone know which is correct?

Chantal - we open at 5pm on Sundays. Thank you!

She also clued us into the fact that you can get all of their entree pastas in appetizer size! This means we were able to try more pastas as well as enjoy an app and dessert. We ordered a bottle of Nero D'Avola, which was smooth and delicious. We got the meatballs as our appetizer, which were super tender and full of flavor. We split the rigatoni alla vodka, fettucine ai funghi, and tagliatelle bolognese. All were perfection. I loved the creaminess of the alla vodka, which had a kick of spice from the chili oil. I loved the herbiness and freshness of both the ai funghi with its sage and the bolognese with its rosemary. The tiramisu was the only dish that was just ok. I would much rather have espresso drenched ladyfingers than coffee liquor. But it was still good so I cannot complain. The waitress also surprised us with prosecco with a lemon rind twist to celebrate the fact that we had just closed on our first ever home. All in all - it was a perfect evening.

We did arrive here a bit early for our reservation but were seated right next to the open kitchen, so it felt quite crowded and cramped. It's a very, very small restaurant and it was freezing where we sat because we were under the vents. Our server, Mary Catherine, was a treat and she took good care of us. She took our drink orders, though I didn't drink tonight. For appetizers, we started with the calamari and stuffed clams. They also offered complementary bread and olive oil basket that was served warm, yum! Our food orders came out pretty fast actually. The calamari was not your typical fried calamari - it was delicious and loved the mix of raw onions in it for that fresh bite. I'm not a fan of clams so I didn't try this, but heard it was just breading and can't really taste the clam taste. For my entree, I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs. I had been dreaming about this since making the reservations and it did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was wonderful. I did think the meatballs were a tad too salty for my taste and I'm glad I opted out of the freshly grated parm because I feel like that would have made everything saltier. After our meal, they brought out free dessert for the birthday celebrants. Nothing but raves were said after our dinner here and we're definitely looking forward to coming back here again.

We were seated in the back which is still festive but brighter and less cozy. Like many mentioned, the waitstaff wasn't interested in making the experience memorable and wanted you in and out as fast as possible. The portion size of their $18 olive and pesto appetizer was appalling. Six olives (yes, six!), four slivers of cheese, three artichoke hearts, and a ramekin of delicious pesto. This feels like a tourist trap in a quaint neighborhood. We both got pasta entrees and they were good, but expensive considering no meat was included. The drinks were festive and actually felt like a good pour considering how expensive they are. 2 stars for that. We ended with the crème brûlée which was somehow over cooked and not creamy. I'm sure the owner will be aggressive about this honest review. To be fair, my sister loved the experience but she's hardly traveled and is delighted by mediocre things sometimes. I really wanted to love this place because we just moved to the area and I wanted to have this be our new cozy date night place. It won't be. If you want to spend $100 per person for mediocre food and holiday photos, this is your place.

Pros The quiet, intimate, and classy atmosphere was exactly what I needed for my family. When we first arrived, our table was not ready and we had to wait outside. However we were given continuous updates on when the table would be ready, they apologized, and they were very understanding. Considering we were a large party in an intimate space, we understood and only waited about 20 minutes before the table was ready. You could tell the food was fresh, the orders came fast, and the service was amazing. The fresh in house pasta took everything to the next level. It was the perfect night out. Cons The establishment is intimate so I do not think it would ideal for extra large parties. I had a party of 8 at 8PM but I dont know if they could have accomodated us if it was any earlier during prime dinner time. I wish they had a better parking situation but its not bad and its free. I randomly decided that I wanted Italian so we decided to check them out for the first time. Mezza Luna is located in a very small plaza with a tight parking lot. I'm so glad that I read the reviews in advance about parking, but I still wasn't prepared for what we saw. Surprisingly, there were 2 or 3 open spots when we visited around 7pm. We had reservations and were quickly seated after being greeted. The restaurant itself was quite intimate, offering only a few tables that were laid out in a manner that had us all quite close. But it worked! Since we had our son with us, they already had a high chair ready for us but he slept through the entire dinner, which also shows how peaceful it actually was in there. I started with a glass of chianti and it paired perfectly with the complimentary starter bread. That focaccia was so fresh! The crust had a great crunch but it was still soft and fluffy inside. We went with the meatball appetizer special which included 4-5 meatballs covered in marinara, fresh tomatoes and burrata. They were delicious, although the tomatoes being cold was a bit of a surprise. For dinner, I went for the chicken piccata and my partner opted for the chicken marsala. Both were great and packed with flavor. Such an unassuming place with tons of flavor waiting inside - perfect for date night or just a nice Italian dinner!

That didn't bother me at all, given that I was staying on the north side and OTP. With such a unique name, I'm thinking the two are or were linked in some manner. I had a good opinion of the one in Midtown, just a block or so from the famed Fox Theater. I remember having an excellent plate of pasta and spinach at that location. At this location in a corporate northern suburb, they are open for lunch here during the weekdays. In looking at pasta dishes and lasagna, I decided on the lasagna. I also ordered a side of asparagus. This "new" Baraonda is at the base of a mid-rise office or condo building and there is some off-street parking. Inside, it is minimalistic and modern, but not all the way over to elegant, which means it was still appealing. Being on the ground level, it has floor-to-ceiling windows all around, which I never object to because I like to eat with a lot of natural light if possible. As the food was being brought to the table, I saw "the casserole." I almost cringe when I see any Italian pasta dish presented in a casserole in North America because it often says "owned and/or cooked by foreigners who cut their teeth at Italian restaurants" and not always the best tasting. There was nothing like that to worry about here. The lasagna's flavors and pliability were very good ... what they might describe as "sottile" in Italian. It was very tasty. The side of asparagus was also excellent. I remember that the service was to my liking. For lunch, the price was acceptable. Keep in mind that Baraonda borders on, or is, fine cuisine, but is open for lunch during the week. In this way, it reminds me of Old Lisbon in Miami which is fine Portuguese cuisine but offers lunch, although it can be fairly expensive at other times. I'm glad that Baraonda is around, though I no longer live in this area that used to be my stomping grounds in my mid- to late-20s and which was surprisingly cosmopolitan then to this Angeleno, with it being even more so today. The food was very satisfying, the locale is appealing, and the service was a good blend of polished and informal. I recommend it.
