    Pastrami Banh Mi

Excellent pastrami (we ordered the seasonal banh mi) and a nice fluffy cinnamon roll. The smoked salmon was thin and not much different from the grocery store. The bagel with it was just okay, which was not worth the price. The atmosphere is cute, but we were pretty rushed on service. Sit down to check in under 40 minutes. That said, definitely worth it to get a sandwich.

Came here for Valentine's Day dinner with a pal! I can say that it was a really great choice for a special occasion dinner: the ambiance, music, lighting, and overall vibe were fantastic. Because we were there for Valentines, they offered a special menu, which was a fun mix-up to have the option for (in addition to some of their usual classic menu favorites)! The special menu felt super thoughtfully planned, but in the end, I did not feel like OVERJOYED that we picked this spot for this price. Our total was basically $100pp when it was all said and done, and while it was a treat to get a four course meal, I felt like $100pp elsewhere could have gone a lot farther AND gotten me more of what I like! The food was tasty. Service was kind.

General Muir is traditional Jewish food done right, and it is absolutely one of my favorite dining spots in Atlanta! The staff/servers are friendly and helpful. I've not had one negative experience here and the food- delish! Servings are generous, bagels and pastries are made in house, and the pastrami goes through quite a process of a10 day brine, 6 hour slow cook and 6 hour steam. Highlights on our meals the last two days: *General Muir- 2 eggs cooked your way, crispy pastrami, Latkes - loved my General Muir breakfast with perfectly cooked poached eggs. *Avenue A is a party in your mouth! Do yourself a favor and request an everything bagel rather than regular. This yummy party begins with my requested everything bagel, Lox, cream cheese, and crowned with diced cucumber and purple onion, fresh dill, avocado, and grapefruit. Delicious!! *Latkes are homemade yumminess and served with the traditional condiments of sour cream and applesauce. *My seasonal sweet potato latte was Autumn in a cup - warm, comforting and the perfect autumn spice blend! I can't wait to return!

Jewish deli-style spots are few and far between where I live in central FL so this place was a genuinely pleasant surprise. We stopped in for brunch and really enjoyed our meal. I ordered the nova on an everything bagel, and the lox was fresh, buttery, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also tried the matzoh ball soup which had a flavorful broth and a matzoh ball with the perfect texture, not too dense and not too soft IYKYK... My husband had the pastrami and said it tasted authentic and lean. On our way out, we grabbed a fresh challah for $6. The only miss for us was the black and white cookie, which you can probably skip. The restaurant itself is large, clean, and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, a great spot when you're craving classic Jewish deli comfort food.

I am sad... The menu changed... The latkes changed The chopped liver was just ok But I did have the pastrami sandwich which was great They still carry Dr Browns cream soda which is a win in my book. My wife's salted bagel and cream cheese wasn't anything to write home about. The service is still top notch The ambiance is still great But I'm not impressed with what we ordered. Won't be back until I hear different from my buds...

We've been to this location several times and always enjoy it. The service is always great, and the food is consistently well-prepared and delicious. There can be a bit of a wait--especially on weekends--so plan accordingly. If you park in the deck across from the restaurant, they will validate your parking when you pay for your meal. Just a heads up: it can get loud inside, particularly when it's a full house. That said, we've always had fast, friendly service. We love The General Muir so much that we frequently place to-go orders. If you're going for brunch, I highly recommend the French toast. The portion is generous (I couldn't finish it!), and the bread is dense, warm, and soaked in syrup--definitely worth trying. I've had the Chicken Club a few times and have to say, it's the best chicken salad I've ever had. But what we've ordered the most is the pastrami sandwich--it's perfection! It's large enough to satisfy, but my husband often gets the "piled high" version with double the meat. I've only had pastrami here, so I can't compare it to others--but my husband says of all the ones he's tried, this is hands down the best. It's the only thing he orders here.

Been to the general Muir a couple of times and I think it's a bit overrated. The service is really good, but I think the food is just ok! The last time I went, I had the lox bagel. I usually like smoked salmon on a bagel, but I wasn't the biggest fan of theirs. The cinnamon roll was just ok too, but not my favorite. Might still come back for brunch, but not sure if this will be a preferred spot

Came for their breakfast, so glad we made it right on time before their breakfast ended. We got smoked hash and the general. The general was soo good! We enjoyed the pastrami and the latkes. I did not really love the apple sauce as it was a little too sweet. And I wish it paired better. The smoked hash was very good! I definitely enjoyed the different vegetables in this dish. The pastrami was perfectly salty and crispy. I thought the orange juice was okay. It kinda just tasted like carton oj, definitely expect better oj at a breakfast spot. Overall, the food was pretty good and I'd come back to try lunch next time.

The service here was stellar. The waiter was nice, helpful, and patient, and they even offered to get me a chair for my backpack. I got the pastrami sandwich, which comes with a pickle and a side. I chose coleslaw and it was great, not sweet and very crisp. The rye bread was incredibly fresh, on par with Second Avenue Deli and Katz's in NYC. The pastrami was good, not Katz's level but very good and fresh. We also shared the poutine, which was pretty good. My friend got the butternut squash soup and half a Reuben sandwich, which she liked. The decor is nice, and despite the place being full it was not too loud. My friend and I felt like we had plenty of space. Parking tip, the meter maid is very active. My friend got a ticket for overstaying her time, and I watched someone else get a ticket too. Either park in the garage and get your ticket validated or be very careful with on-street parking.

One of our most enjoyable dinners in a long time. The great reviews on their pastrami sandwiches inspired us to drive into town from Lawrenceville and I'm so happy we did. We were expecting a more casual deli type eatery but instead found a clean, modern, crisp room, tasteful, with candles on the tables which I assume was their dinner setup. (and they take reservations in the evening) Our waiter, Jackson, couldn't have been better. He was so personable and helpful and the service was better than many high end restaurants I've been to. The wait staff seem to be efficient yet invisible, showing up with perfect timing to see if you needed anything and then slipping away, you never felt crowded. Several other servers said hello as they passed by and the atmosphere was just very friendly and welcoming. Our pastrami Reuben was excellent, tender meat and gooey melted Swiss with sauerkraut on grilled rye. My fries were plentiful, but better yet, hot and crisp, just perfect. My husbands potato salad was so good (the fresh dill was a nice addition) we took an extra container home with us to keep us from fighting over the leftovers. All in all, I can't say enough about what a nice evening we had, we'll be back for sure, maybe for lunch when we're in the area, which is often. Thank you for a nice example of customer attentiveness with great food.

This place was so good! We had been wanting to try it for a while and finally came. The food was really good and it came out super fast. The service was great the staff were all super kind. They also have parking available in a garage across the street. I would definitely recommend

Go here. Eat the food. It's fantastic. I have been frequenting TGM for years and it does not fail to disappoint. I love everything I've had - delicious burger, great bagels, and chicken salad is incredible. Get the crispy pastrami! Service is always great, staff is friendly, professional and knows the menu. Ambiance - it's a deli. Not romantic, a bit loud at times.

    Piled High Pastrami ($28)
    Ashley K.

The General Muir is a win all-around. It was a pleasure dining here. FOOD: Piled High Pastrami ($28) - The pastrami absolutely melts in your mouth. It was tender, perfectly smoky, and pairs well with the mustard. I got fries as my side and it was piled high as much as the pastrami. I also got to try the matzoh ball soup ($10) which had a light but rich soup and the Avenue A Bagel ($18) which was sophisticated and a hint of pop with the grapefruit. SERVICE: Our server was amazing! She was super energetic and helped accommodate any questions/requests we had. VIBE: I loveee the interior of the restaurant. You feel like you're in a deli in New York as soon as you step in. The pictures of the co-owner's ancestors around the restaurant is a great tribute to the history and culture of what the General Muir represents. I can't wait to go back and try the brunch menu! Highly recommend anyone to try this place out!

I ordered the Rio Grande with Pastrami and a plain bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend ordering through their website. The place gets busy, and I waited about 15-17 minutes for my food. Not a bad wait, but ordering ahead definetly saves time. The first thing you'll notice is the size. These bagels are huge. I ate my Rio Grande around 10 a.m. and wasn't hungry again until about 4 p.m., so they're definitely filling. I saved the smoked salmon bagel for the next morning, toasted it, and added the salmon creme cheese back on, and it was just as delicious. Overall, Brooklyn Bagel Company is a solid breakfast and deli spot with several locations around Atlanta. After trying a place with "Brooklyn" in the name, I'm genuinely curious what separates a good bagel from a great one. I finally understand why people are so passionate about them. My next order will definitely be the Nova with capers and red onions. If you're looking for a hearty breakfast that will keep you full for hours, this place is definitely worth trying.

It's light years ahead of J Christopher's, White Hall, First Watch, you game it. Now you won't get a fancy coffee or Instagram able photo, but you'll get solid food. I've been eating here for years and genuinely crave it about every three weeks...it's that good. You really can't go wrong. Portions are generous especially for the price, service is consistently solid (though wait times can vary, it's popular!), and with so many locations you can usually find one nearby. They're also great about modifying cooking oils for those of us who prefer olive oil or other healthier options. My go-to is an omelette or the nova scramble, with home fries -- big, crispy potato chunks with sautéed peppers and onions -- plus a side of toast, English muffin, or bagel (or swap for salad or fruit). My husband swears by their latkes, too. Classic, satisfying, and a total win for brunch lovers.

They carry a full selection (more than I am listing) of tradtional bagels, everything, sesame, onion, garlic, poppy, egg, even a blueberry one. They also have a couple of gluten-free ones and a jalapeno-cheese one. The bagels I've tried are fresh, chewy, reasonably-sized. The serve them in delicious breakfast sandwiches with eggs, cheese (your choice), and meat (your choice). Sandwiches come with your choice of a side, latkes or sliced tomatoes. Order the tomatoes and layer the thin slices onto your sandwich for a messy delight. Order the latkes for a decadent addition to your morning. The latkes are flavorful, puffy, crunchy, and just a bit greasy. They are delicious. Bagels with schmears are stuffed with fresh cream cheese that is rich. We've only ordered them with plain, which is great, but they also have some flavors. I've also eaten quite a few omelets and salads from Goldbergs. Salads are reasonably sized with fresh dressing and greens. The greens are fine, fancy even. Omelets are traditional, well-cooked, large, full of your selected fillings. There is a meat-lovers style one with their quality meats; a spanish-style one with onion, peppers, and red sauce. My favorite is the country omelet that is full of hash browns, onions, ham, and cheese. Goldbergs also has traditional breakfast fare and sandwiches that I haven't gotten to just yet! While I've ordered delivery from Golbergs quite a bit, I've also popped in for carryout, and eaten in. Delivery holds up well. Carryout is easy and quick, even when they are bustling. Eating in is a mix of regulars with staff stopping at tables to chat and people who are there just of the food. Service is friendly and reasonably fast. The waitstaff knows the menu and knows people. They keep things moving without being overbearing or giving customers short shrift. The restaurant is bright and clean. It has photos of patrons and staff throughout the years on the walls. The walk-in carry-out area is separated from the restaurant which makes for a bustling, energetic environment.
