Major fan of this sub shop. They TRULY know how to make a sub. Whenever I'm downtown and they're open, I try to stop in and get my usual which is an American sub. Turkey, ham and Swiss cheese minus the cheese with the works - no onions served on French bread and Greek mayo instead of regular. It's just so oily and good. Oooweee! Twice in one day. Breakfast was everything bagel and cream cheese. Good bagel for the south (I'm a Georgian, don't come at me, bread here generally doesn't compare to bread from up north). I had the Reuben their #1 seller along with a side of potato salad and it did not disappoint. There are signs inside that encourage customers to YELL your order and while it was not necessary at 11am I can see how it would be once the lunch crowd arrives. Great food and portions. Usually pretty busy so ordering ahead is a good idea, but, they don't keep pre-orders out where you can just grab it...so you kind of end up fighting through a crowded counter anyway. The rotini pasta salad is made with feta cheese, and olives more Mediterranean than baklava, tossed in their own house made Italian dressing! Yum! My go-to here is the roast beef with cheddar on sourdough - mayo and brown mustard. Grilled. But when I tell you Claudio himself brought over fresh horseradish to smear on my roast beef sandwich, I was skeptical. I am 100% convinced at this point and my life has forever changed. Tasty! I had lunch picked up from here for my work lunch today--my first time trying this place. I got the "Godfather" sandwich on French sub with "the works" + deli mustard + banana peppers + olives, and a side of Zapp's salt and vinegar chips. Reuben's for the win! I had been looking at this joint for over a year now and we decided on it today due to a convention we attended in town. We may have been one of the first customers in and I like it like that. Upon walking in we had a warm, friendly welcoming. The guys were super nice and happy. Great attitudes and all. By it being our first time we didn't know what to order. Since it's called Rueben's deli, I had to opt for a Rueben and I'm glad I did. That baby was packed full of meat. This was the best damn Rueben I had ever had! My wife got her a beef Philly. She said it was really good! The storefront was clean. We decided to eat inside. As good as most delis in the Northeast, which is a compliment. The service was exceptional - fast, fun, and inviting. The meat is Boarshead and shaved. Each sandwich is highly customizable - dressing, condiments, toppings, etc. Though deserving of a five star review, I would say that the rye bread wasn't a true NY deli rye. Reuben's Deli is located in downtown Atlanta. Street parking near the restaurant can be difficult to find but we found a metered parking spot a few blocks from the deli. The owner greeted us upon entry into the deli. The restaurant has 2-top and 4-top seating at tables spread throughout the left side and back of the deli. You order at a counter near the back of the deli. The servers create a fun atmosphere and yell out when a sandwich is ready. They also offer soups and daily special (see my photos of the menus) As a sandwich order is placed the deli counter servers yell into the back kitchen area and the bread is prepared and brought out to the deli prep area. The meats are added to each sandwich and the deli server asks what condiments and vegetables you want to add to the sandwich. Each sandwich is cut in half and wrapped in paper. You pay for your order at the pay station near the front entrance. You can add chips or drinks to your order when paying for your meal. My better half and I ordered a New Yorker Reuben with double meat and split the sandwich. It was piled HIGH with pastrami and corned beef and included sauerkraut and cheese. We had it dressed with spicy mustard. What an awesome and delicious meal. If you are in the downtown area and want an awesome sandwich and fun experience you need to try Reuben's Deli. read more

He Said: in addition to bagels we got chocolate chip cookies for breakfast because THEY WERE RIGHT THERE ON THE COUNTER SMELLING SO DAMN GOOD. They are sugary, chewy, melty, crispy, hand-size, round pieces of yumminess. A great start to any day! By the signage and our brief interaction with the staff I would love to be here when they're slammed. These guys are friendly, efficient, and have a great attitude. She Said: We were looking for a good bagel near our hotel--as we do--and it's hard to resist a New York style deli. They don't do a full breakfast on Saturdays, but it would be nice to come back someday when it's available. I like to drink black tea, but they didn't have any so I "settled" for hot chocolate which was creamy chocolatey deliciousness. I was tempted to ask what brand they use, but decided it's best if I don't have easy access to it. As for the bagel, it was good! It had the right amount of chew and the cream cheese wasn't heaped on too thick as so many other places do. I was bummed the pumpernickel wasn't available, but maybe I'll get a chance at it the next time we're in town. Reuben greeted me when I walked in the door. He's a chatty guy who has a joke and a smile. I was caught off guard at first being that I am tatted and bearded when he said "we don't serve tattooed bearded guys here", but I quickly played along and we had a great laugh about it. Parking is limted in this off the main road deli in downtown Atl. I had been seeing Katz Deli ads on my reels and it was making me crave Pastrami. I ordered a pastrami/corned beef Ruben. Great little spot in downtown Atlanta where you can get a good breakfast and solid pastrami sandwich by Georgia State University and the business district. Pastrami reminds me of the deli's in Los Angeles and NYC. They are located on Broad Street where all the food spots are located and they usually get a rush during lunch time. read more
