This place is special! Was in the area for work and stumbled upon this place while searching for somewhere to eat lunch and I'm glad I did. Not an over complicated menu, they focus on certain things and do them very well. I wanted to try a pizza but settled on the Southern Italian sandwich and The Hummus bowl. Both were fantastic. The hummus was creamy and flavorful with the pita that is cooked in a beautiful wood fire oven, it has almost a cracker like texture on top and soft on the bottom. The worst pizza that I've ever had! I had their food years ago, the hummus and pita, they were great. I tried two of their pizzas and they were terrible. Way overcooked, too burned, too tough and chewy. I wanted to love them but couldn't even finish them. They also had no flavor. All I could say after my first few bites was WOW! I ordered the hummus bowl with the ten spice chicken and WOW! The hummus was so creamy and delicious, the pickled veggies were perfect not too tart or salt but slightly sweet which helped balance out the savory hummus and chicken. The chicken was absolutely wonderful, seasoned and tender to perfection. And the fresh baked pita bread?!!! Forget about it! I was expecting good because of other reviews but this was amazing! Coming for the hummus bowls and the pizza, I'd say it was a five star hummus and a three star pizza. I got my hummus with garlic confit on top, and it was a beautiful bowl. The pita on the side was delightfully browned and spiced, and the pickled vegetables on top were carrots and celery and peppers rather than anything weird and distracting. The garlic was ample and was delicious without overpowering the rest. The hummus was smooth and salty. The pizza was a thin crust that wasn't nearly as good as the pita that came with the hummus, and quite minimal toppings. They have a nice oven, but the result didn't impress me. I also landed some cookies on the house that they said were going to be discarded otherwise as the week was over. It was a small shop without a ton of ambiance. We were blown away by how much love we could taste in this food. The best part about this food is that not only does it taste amazing and you can tell how much care and effort was put into it, but also you feel great after eating it because it's made with good ingredients and high quality. My friend Jon said that his fertile crescent was divine and I had the sloppy Jeaux which was on another level. I absolutely adore this place! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We were in Atlanta for a gymnastics competition and always celebrate afterwards with good food. The Flying V is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I can't believe I didn't see they had zhoug sauce on the menu so I can't wait to come back and try it. I was reluctant at first because the menu seemed to be all over the place but my son wanted pizza and I was right next to it so I got it for him... and then 5 minutes later went back to get some for me too! The sauce is a bit sweet but they add some salt to their fresh mozzarella which balances it out. The bottom had the perfect amount of char without being burnt and I really loved the crust!
