I enjoyed the Pasta 101 class I took here. A great date night activity or just fun time with friends. The class instructor TC was very engaging and enthusiastic which made the experience that much better. You get to leave with a good amount of homemade pasta as well as the know-how to make your own at home. The bar has a great selection of wines and craft cocktails as well. So while walking around Ponce City market I stumbled across establishment trying to find a bar. Now. I know there's plenty of bars there but I was looking for one while I was waiting. You going to Ponce City market and you have to pay to park. Just keep that in mind. Once you park it's going to be on the first floor on the corner. It's really not hard to find because it's one of the largest things on that side. What makes an interesting is the fact that it has a front and the back. The front of it you can see people taking food classes there like for example making pasta. The middle part of it is going to be all the tables. The back half of it is going to be you sitting at the bar. So it actually is a really nice amount of space and there's a lot that you can do. Depending on what you're looking for. So it's really a good time. I only came for drinks while I was waiting around and I said I want to come back just to see what it's like to maybe take a cooking class perhaps. But everybody was super friendly and they kept offering me to come over but that wasn't why I was there. But I thought it was really nice that they want to promote that. read more

I'm not a huge Italian fan but I thought this place was cute so my friends and I popped in for a late lunch. We sat more in the back of the restaurant so it was quiet, felt private which we enjoyed. Also note there is outdoor seating available. Service started out slowly (maybe it was a shift change) The garlic bread was soooo delicious. Crusty, garlicky, buttery exterior, soft on the inside. This I must say was such a fulfilling experience for me. I've been wanting to do a pasta making class and I finally found one! I was in ponce city market and saw the class happening live and I book my class a few weeks later. It was fun, exciting and a great night out. My fiancée and I were looking for a quick bite for lunch. We walked around the Ponce Market and stumbled on this restaurant. We were not expecting to eat Italian, but we could not pass it up because the menu looked so good. At the time, they were not too busy. We were able to be seated on a Saturday afternoon right away. The inside has lovely lighting and decor. Very classy. What's so cool is there is a side kitchen where you can see someone making fresh pasta 24/7. Very nice. My lady and I were looking for a good spot for lunch when we happened upon this spot. It definitely stood out among the plethora of other restaurants and looked too good not to try. Of course, knowing our affinity for Italian food and wine, we gave it a shot, and we're definitely glad we did. With high tourist attraction areas like Ponce City Market, I was hesitant to try out this place even though the reviews are very high. But since I already had a giftcard here and wanted to treat myself to something special, I did a solo date here on a Saturday for lunch. I grabbed a seat at the bar and did some people watching while there. In the meantime, I got their house old fashion, Garlic Bread, GA Shrimp, and meatballs. I thoroughly enjoyed the old fashion as it was just what I was looking for to wind down. Their garlic bread was fluffy but not exactly soft. Plus the garlic spread was only on one side which was a little disappointing. But I liked how it was served with a tomato sauce. The meatballs also came with their own bread, which if I had known that, I wouldn't have gotten the garlic bread. Meatballs were tasty but definitely overworked as they were a little tough to bite into. As a garlic lover, I do have to admit the shrimp was too much a few bites in. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. The ambiance was gorgeous and I really enjoyed the drinks. The food itself would be 3 stars but it looked nice. They did make for even better leftovers though! Not sure if this is a place I'd come to the next time I'm craving Italian food, but it wasn't bad. Considering most places are sit down after you order at a counter, this was a great option for visiting with friends. Loved the pasta Norma with eggplant, it was very spicy, which I love. Went last Friday and the food was so so good. I went with two other people and we ordered three dishes to share (full disclosure, we went to two other places). Anyways, the food was AMAZING. We ordered the garlic bread and the meatballs from the appetizers and the pesto pasta. Our server was very nice and fast with our food. We were seated fast. The restaurant was full indoors so we were seated outdoors. If you don't like a lot of noise, would recommend inside seating since the outdoor seats are in the middle of the pathway of people coming and going at Ponce City Market. I was looking for a Chicken Parmesan and they didn't not have one on the menu, instead the hostess recommended, (i cant remember the name of the dish) it was two breaded chicken cutlets with arugula and that was it, no pasta nothing but so Parmesan packets and the white sauce. This was a to go order, so when i got home opening my food container to behold the 2 cutlets and arugula I was quite disappointed, especially for the price BUT that dish was so DAMN good. I was caught even more off guard how delectable that elements were and how they tied together, the two cutlets, arugula, and white sauce left me extremely satisfied. Loved the food! Got the Milanese which were two pieces of chicken cutlets fried over what tasted like vodka sauce. It was crispy, yet soft and juicy inside. I paired it with the Ragu which was your traditional spaghetti with meat sauce but with the wide noodles and a creamy texture; was pretty good, but I definitely enjoyed the Milanese better. As the restaurant is located within a food hall, my dining experience was slightly noisy and it's a little smaller than your traditional restaurants, but there were still ample amounts of seats. When I entered, the receptionist was kind and guided me to my seat. My only complaint is the waiter. I've seen him twice during my entire meal. Once to get my order and as I was about to pay my bill. It wasn't even my waiter who came to explain how the check out process works (scan the QR code on the table) or take away my plates. Would've been a 5/5 star if it were for better service, especially the default percentage for tip was set to 25%. We also ordered a side of the broccolini. Garlic bread: Thick crusty bread with a nicely paired marinara sauce. We were fans. Squid Ink Pasta: he seemed to have loved it, so I'd say try it if you like that type of dish. Shrimp Pasta: Good but VERY onion and garlic centric which lingered on me and my breath I feel like for the rest of the night lol Also the sauce isn't think so I didn't love that, because it took a while for the flavors to soak into the noodles and actually be good. Probably wouldn't order this again, I was initially debating between the Ragu and this so would probably try the Ragu next time. Broccolini: Horrible! It had this weird flavoring to it. Bellina Alimentari always seemed so cute from the outside while walking around Ponce City Market, so we decided to check it out. The food was delicious, and the interior was clean and well decorated. Unfortunately, the service was really slow, it took a while for someone to greet us at the door. Once we were seated our server came by after almost 10 minutes of us sitting and waiting, and then didn't check on us much until towards the end of our meal. Not sure if she was the only server staffed that day, but besides the slow service she was very sweet and had a good cocktail recommendation for me. We were also sat at this weird high top table for 2 by the door that connects to the outside, and every time someone had to go back and forth it would blow a breeze onto our table, and we went during late summer so it was very unpleasant having a hot, humid breeze blow on us every few minutes. At one point the amount of hot air being blown at me throughout the meal had me a bit nauseated. Not sure if I would go back again to dine in, though their other events sound more promising like the pasta making classes. read more

The carbonara came with English sweet peas? (Like WTF? And Why?!) Their pesto was nut-free? Again why? Does their chef or someone in their kitchen have an allergy? I can see having a nut free option for guests who have allergies or even avoiding the use of the nuts if the staff has an allergy but maybe just leave it off the menu if that's the case. The food we got was fresh and good but the menu really threw us off. It felt like an upscale version of Southern Italian.... Southern meaning a bottle of Ragu and a bag of noodles. Except this place makes their own noodles and a large portion of my family is Italian and the other half is from The South and no one and I mean NO ONE would add sweet peas to carbonara. We sat in the back near the bar, where it was quiet and nicely lit with mood lighting. Our server was great, as this was our first time dining here. For food, well, the garlic bread is a must get. It is so buttery, garlicky and goes great with the flavorful, herb and olive oil topped tomato sauce that's included for dipping. We also got a Ceaser Salad to share, which was kindly divided into two bowls for us. For entrees we got the GA Shrimp and Polpo pasta dishes. Both were great but I think the Polpo was the stand out. If you like spicy, this is the dish to get. So much flavor, but it is a medium spice level so just be aware of that! The ambiance was ok, it was kind of open to the rest of the market and seating was sparse. We were allowed to sit where we wanted and the server came and took our order. My friend got the carbonara as we had read it was supposedly amazing and I got the smoked ricotta ravioli. Our server brought our food and then asked if we wanted some Italian bread not mentioning that it cost extra which we find when we got the bill. The ravioli was a ridiculously small portion and the carbonara was very oily. Our original server never came back to check on us and in fact we could see her the entire time we ate. She and a few other servers stood around talking amongst themselves, one of the group I really have no idea what her purpose was as I saw her doing nothing but talking to other servers. There was a nice man with glasses (sadly I didn't get his name) who finally came over to see if we needed anything. We just wanted the bill which he brought and there was something I never ordered on the bill that they proceeded to bring out just at that moment. Clearly these people have no idea what they're doing. Here's a tip.... Do your job and stop talking to people other than your customers. I would not eat here again. Sometimes you go to a place that just engraves itself into your mind. This is Bellina Alimentari for me. Found at the Ponce City Market, at first glance... well, I probably wouldn't have stepped in there. I mean, I'm in a foodie heaven - why would I want to try an Italian restaurant when I'm surrounded by more exotic foods, plenty of bars, and shopping galore? At least that was my thought, but you know I was with friends and one of them insisted on eating at this lovely restaurant. Boy am I glad she convinced me! Josh was our server and he was just a delight. Whatever they're teaching that man in terms of attention and service, they have to replicate with the rest of the staff. He was so peppy and willing to help us choose our plates and drinks. If I were to go back to Atlanta, I'd definitely ask for him when returning to this restaurant. Anyway, in terms of food - we started off with their complimentary bread, of which we wound up having two orders because we were THAT hungry. Three out of four of us partook in drinks. I believe I had a Prosecco. Nothing out of the ordinary with this, but when we talk about ACTUAL food, well... we were next to the area where they make the noodles. It was an extraordinary sight to see those noodles pulled for the very first time. Obviously, we all ordered noodle dishes. How could we not given that it's an Italian restaurant and they make them on site? We ordered the polpo, lasagne, carbonara, and GA shrimp dishes. My dish was this last one, and holy moly, this is a dish I keep salivating over nearly two months later. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the noodles were as well, and the combination of flavors was to die for. More surprising still is that the plate looked small, but as I began to eat it, more shrimp randomly appeared and it was hearty and felt like an embrace from a loved one. Shockingly some of us had space for dessert. One friend ordered a tiramisu. I meanwhile debated between a panna cotta and a cannoli. They were out of the first one, so the choice was clear: cannoli. Let me tell you that this cannoli was probably the best cannoli I've ever had and I've been to New York, Boston, and Italy. This cannoli to me may as well be my future spouse because that's the love I had for it. Heck, if we didn't have a 4-5 hour drive back home, I'd have bought a second one home, but alas... I didn't because it'd have melted. All in all, when can I go back to Atlanta and dine at Bellina Alimentari again? I haven't the foggiest clue. Wow oh wow!!! I was in town for a volleyball tournament and have been researching a team building cooking activity. Unfortunately that didn't work out for our girls but I had to come try the home made pasta. This delicious restaurant Ponce City Market and was perfect to carb load our girls before the tournament on Friday. I had the GA Shrimp was delicious. My daughter has the carbonara was creamy and the yolk was so satisfying to ooz over the pasta. My Italian girlfriend had the Polpo. It was the first she ever tried squid ink. She thought it was delicious. Her daughter had the Pesto which incredible. She said it reminded her of her mom's pesto. For dessert we had their tiramisu. Wow!!!
