Visiting from Florida and this place did not disappoint. Food was great, staff was kind, and ambiance was relaxed and easy going.

    I love this place already

Boxcar is a fab staple for me. It was my bro's first time going so of course I picked the location. Parking was available in the lot out front and they have a scan code at the front desk for parking. It was free for the first two hours. This spot is literally right off of the beltline and is a sight to see. The food is AMAZING. We opted for cocktails and beer, Brussels sprouts and the balsamic glaze TOP TIER. my brother doesn't eat meat and he was thrilled to see awesome choices available to him on the menu. So I got to enjoy the best of both worlds, veggies anddddd my meats lol. I ordered the shank and potatoes with veggies like zucchini and it was DELICIOUS. He's head over heels and we are going back for another friend link to boxcar soon soon! The setup is nice and quaint with a full bar and friendly staff. They have a bar right underneath the restaurant as well to partake!

Groovy warehouse district turned brewery district, right on the south side beltline. Dont worry about space, they got plenty. Next door is a food hall if you can't find a choice at boxcar. The staff is super nice and ready to help!

Does this look like a $15 burger and $6 fries? For $21, go elsewhere.

I've eaten here twice now, which I feel is enough to review it fairly. I will be honest, I don't come here for the food, I come here for Hop City, I like trying different craft beers. I came here one Saturday afternoon, ordered a beer flight and the pretzel bites with "homemade cheese" because I was starving...uhhh yeah, not very good. They tasted like they were frozen and then defrosted. Barely any salt. Cheese was weird, just not good. Second time I came on a Saturday night. I ordered "the heatwave" burger...Beef patty pepper jack, smoked jerk bbq, roasted jalapenos, sugar-cured bacon, bibb lettuce, tomato, shaved onion, toasted potato bun, jerk sauce omitted. It was really good, for sure. But a $15 burger should come with fries. An extra $6 for fries with my burger?!?! Nah, now you're insane. Atmosphere is a good vibe. Service is great. Overpriced for the food? Forget it. I can get better food for less, elsewhere.

Came for Sunday brunch/lunch after church! Was very quick service! Had the Buffalo Mac (not pictured) as an appetizer and it was great! I thoroughly enjoyed my salad and the fried okra! All the meals were very appetizing the playlist being played was great and the ambiance was very chill and friendly would definitely be back!

Boxcar is one of those places that gets it right -- almost every time. The food is consistently good, the service is friendly and attentive, and the drinks? They've got some fun, creative twists that make them stand out from your usual bar fare. One of my favorite things about Boxcar is the free parking -- a rare and beautiful thing in Atlanta. Plus, the location is a win: it's right by other great entertainment options, so it's easy to make a full night of it. Whether you're grabbing dinner, meeting friends for drinks, or just kicking back on the patio, Boxcar is always a solid choice in the West End.

    Jerk BBQ Boxcar Wings

I took a gamble on whether tomato, cheese watermelon, and mint should be combined. I ordered it from the selections of salads and don't add any meat. Boy did that gamble pay off. The plate is crunchy, juicy, sweet, and tangy. It comes with balsamic dressing and mint. Add the mint in small bits it can be overpowering. As a side I also ordered 5 jerk BBQ wings. Not as crispy as I wanted but tasty and a good pairing. For $23 I'll get the same combo again and try another wing flavor. The exterior patio is small and looks out onto a parking lot. But in great weather a patio is always a plus. I can't speak to service from the waiters because I didn't dine in. The to go process however was easy.

One of my favorite places on the west side beltline! I don't eat beef or pork so finding a good chili is tough. But their turkey chili is delicious! Good drinks too. Large assortment of beer, wines, and cocktails. Great service for all the staff. I came here on a Thursday for a fun wine tasting & then came on game day Sunday. They had the games playing and it wasn't crowded or rowdy. Good to come with friends or come sit at the bar. 10/10

I might be a little late discovering this spot--was texting a friend about the restaurant and the area, and he let me know it's actually been here for about three years... go figure! Boxcar is located in the West End near the AUC. Just exit off Lowery Blvd, take a left, and keep going until you hit the newly paved Beltline on White Street. I was genuinely surprised by all the new development and branding in the area. After dining, I took a quick 10-minute drive around and noticed a ton of new apartments and mixed-use developments, many of them right on the Beltline or just a short walk away. This neighborhood definitely feels like it's on track to become the next Old Fourth Ward in the next 5-7 years. As for Boxcar itself--an easy 5 stars. It has a great vibe and feels like it could be the Westside's answer to New Realm. There's a spacious patio, several areas that look ideal for private events, and a solid menu of elevated bar food. Think huge chicken tenders, stacked burgers, a flavorful tequila flight, and a wide selection of beers. The service was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively--definitely a place I'd recommend checking out if you're exploring the Beltline.

I ordered my food on 9-24-2025 through Uber Eats. I got something for dinner and breakfast. I got the fish and fries with hush puppies for dinner. I got the greens and mashed potatoes with beef short ribs for breakfast. The food tasted good.. They did a great job on cooking it. The food was delicious.. Pull up to check them out. Oh the strawberry peach cobbler is bussing!

It was delicious, but it could've not had juices leaking so much? Maybe cheese below and above the meat to try to keep some of the juices off the bun or maybe more bun toasting? The fries were amazing and I should've gotten the aolie initially, but didn't get it until I saw another table with an order. It was delicious. The service was very good. The wait staff was attentive, making sure we had our beverages and if we needed anything before the 2 arrived. Once they arrived, the staff gave us a few minutes to make sure the 2 had a chance to look at the menus. We ordered appetizers to start...corn bread, sage fried pierogies and poutine. We weren't sure about the poutine because we didn't see any gravy, we did see the cheese curds on the fries, but once we finally dug in, the gravy was at the bottom. The pierogies were tasty. We asked if they could cut the cornbread so each of us could get a taste, which they did. Corn bread had a toasted texture, and the honey butter was delicious! Everyone ordered something different. One had fish and chips, which would seem to be a likely order for a pub. Their special for the day was a ruben. Another ordered a falafel sandwich, and I think 2 salmon BLT's and then one salad with rainbow trout. Portions were not overwhelming, but we realized that we were full from the appetizers and almost everyone ended up taking most of their main choices in doggie bags (boxes). As time got closer to the festival to start, it did get crowded, but the staff handled the influx of people and people were seated relatively quickly. This was a nice destination as most of the group live a drive from Decatur. Lovely afternoon visit!

They don't offer flights, so we each ordered a couple of half pours. I went with a hazy and an IPA, while Wifey chose a watermelon pilsner and a lager. We placed our food order at the same counter--Wifey went with lemon pepper wings and mac and cheese. I ordered six spicy wings and a side of coleslaw. They provided an order number stand, we grabbed our beers and headed outside to a high-top table made from a barrel. The food came out surprisingly fast--they brought our trays right to the table. Everything looked great, and once we started digging in, the flavors backed it up. My wings had just the right amount of heat, and the coleslaw was a solid pairing. Wifey really enjoyed her wings too, though she said the mac and cheese could've used a little more flavor. Before leaving, we grabbed a couple more half pours. Wifey liked the watermelon pilsner so much, we ended up taking home a six-pack. It's pretty much a self-serve setup once your food arrives--you bus your own table, grab your own wet wipes and water, that kind of thing. It's a casual setup, so no big deal there.
