We were walking to another destination and decided to stop at Fire Maker. I had driven by many times, but this was my first time visiting. We entered and hopped on a fast moving line. I quickly reviewed the menu and ordered an American IPA that I had never tried before called Perfect Match. I really enjoyed it because it had great flavor, but was not too hoppy. Wifey ordered the Radler, which was there light Shandy. We sat down and chatted with our friend and enjoyed the layout and atmosphere. I noticed the place was very pet friendly and a couple dogs came over to visit with us. We did not stay long, but it was a very good experience and we will definitely have to come back to try some other offerings. read more

My husband and I were huge fans of Urban Tree Cidery who closed last year and after receiving an email regarding their relaunch in partnership with Fire Maker Brewing, we decided to make our way and see what this place was all and we had such a fun time! We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and had issue finding parking in their main lot. There is an overflow lot behind the building and there is signage to direct there if needed. When we arrived, we smelled something delicious coming from the on-site food truck, heard some great live music coming from inside and there were a ton of folks inside and outside just having a good ol time. Once we walked inside, there was plenty of beer on tap but I appreciated that there were frozen drinks available and with their partnership with Urban Tree, I was excited to see some of my old favorite ciders. The guy that helped me was super sweet and helpful. He made some great suggestions and I had a vodka blueberry lemonade, came back later for a water-marita which was my favorite. We order some loaded fries from their onsite food truck and the fries were amazinggggg! Huge portion, hot, and just the right amount of food. They have plenty of other stuff on the menu but the fries were good enough for the both of us. I totally forgot what drink my husband got but I do remember he enjoyed them. I went here yesterday for a special Wanderful inaugural group event. Upon arrival, the parking was not the best. The front lot only has a few spaces and fortunately I saw a sign that says another lot was around the corner. That lot was almost filled. But luckily I got one of the two last spots. Apparently there was trivia that night which made it packed. So get there early for parking and hope for the best! When I walked in, I found the private event space easily. It was very nice to have an intimate experience with a group. It had its own indoor and outdoor area. There was also a mini bar (but you can go to the full bar if you want other items) with a bartender and a bathroom. Very great space! And the bartender was amazing! Very friendly and personable! Lastly, the drink I had was the peach lemonade cocktail which was delicious! And what was great as I couldn't decide on this or another drink. So the bartender gave me samples of each before pouring me a full glass. This is definitely a great spot and I MUST return! read more

I'm not much of a drinker, especially when it comes to beer. I don't care for a lot of beers. That said, I was very impressed with Fire Maker Brewing's new Calamity Jane beer. No, I'm not being a shill for Fire Maker. I actually enjoyed this beer and found it to be quite delicious and refreshing. My wife did too. She described it as a "more flavorful light beer" and "like an IPA that's not too hoppy." I'd seek out this beer if it was available at more places. I looked forward to taking the next sip. The beer Calamity Jane is named after is the putter that Atlanta native and Georgia Tech grad Bobby Jones used to win 13 majors including the 1930 Grand Slam. A replica of the Calamity Jane putter is used as the PGA Tour's Tour Championship trophy at East Lake Golf Club. Fire Maker has a 9,000-square-foot space on Chattahoochee Ave, not far from Howell Mill Rd, in the Upper Westside. It's close to Topgolf and the new Chattahoochee Food Works at The Works. Great little place for beers and chilling. Stumbled upon this place and was at first underwhelmed however the staff was friendly, and they offered some games to play. I ordered the tangerine mango sour and the fiesta beer. Both good options as they were sour and refreshing respectively. It was not too loud which allowed for conversations and relaxing feels. This place has been on my list of breweries to visit for awhile. Have always heard great things about them. My friends and I decided to do their Honalee Land Festival for their special release. This brewery is located near West Marietta, not far from Scofflaw. It's an easy one to drive past if you don't have directions pulled up! Their IPA Special Release was AMAZING. One of the juiciest ones I've had and hit hard on the pineapple. They ran out of it fairly quickly. Please y'all, bring that one back! The festival was fun. Adult inflatables setup in the front and a band in the back. It was a very eclectic crowd, but when you combine Puff the Magic Dragon and beer, you're bound to get some interesting folks. The brewery isn't huge, but it was comfortable. They have a big front area outside, though, which I'm assuming would be where bench tables were if the inflatables weren't there. Heavy IPA selection but some really great ales too (also saw spiked seltzer). The Brown Alw hit like a stout, and the cucumber ale lived up to its name. Oh, and they have some tasty slushees that will hit hard. Overall, great experience! Would like to come back during normal days and try some flights. read more

Fire Maker is my absolute favorite brewery in Atlanta!! I'm not a big beer drinker, but they have so many options that anyone would be happy here. From your typical IPAs and Stouts to Sours to Ciders to Seltzers to Draft Cocktails, they have something for everyone! My favorite sour is probably the Strawberry Feels. It's not too tart and is perfectly sweet. They also partner with the Scoville Hot Chicken next door so you can order food at Fire Maker and have it brought over to you. They've got games that you can grab to play, including some DND one shots, or you can always bring some from home to play with friends! There's always at least one dog there, if not more, so it's also a great spot if you love to love on animals while you enjoy some great beer. They also host trivia on Wednesdays and Thursdays where you can win beer or a gift card to Fire Maker! It's such a fun time so I definitely recommend going on one of those nights. We had a party of 3 around 1:30 on a Sunday. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating and only a few tables inside. We snagged a table on the deck. They are taking a lot of precautions with COVID. They require masks, have one way in and one way out, limit parties to 8 people, and ask that you bring your glasses back up to the bar when you're leaving to let them know when to clean your table. Employees were wearing masks. We got Hazed & Blazed, Way Down Yonder, and one more. We all enjoyed our beer! Fire Maker Brewery has a nice set up. Rustic farm style picnic tables and booths. Order from the bar area, they have pages of beer, spiked coconut water, and their mixed drinks. They have a small food menu that's over priced, the guy behind the bar called it microwaveable type food. Oh it indeed was truly that. I do believe they allow outside food though. So that's a plus. I would hope that they begin inviting different food trucks. That's the only negative about this place. Beer selection is awesome, customer service is friendly and ambiance is cool. They have about 3-4 TVs which makes this place ideal for sports watching. They have great deals all week and a free bus tour about twice a month. Event space: If you're facing the main building, on the left is a small building for private events with an indoor and outdoor area. The beer selection was nice and broad (ipas, sours, stouts, seltzers) everything we had ranged from ok to delicious. We did the roll a flight option twice (roll 4 dice and you get what is assigned to each number). Which was a fun way to try some new beers and added some variety to what we usually have. The Hazed and Blazed as well as the Bromeo and Juliet were our favorites. The Wit was excellent as well. There is no food on site. They partner with Scoville Chicken just a quick walk down the street and can bring the food back (apparently they do deliver on some days). The space was open and the staff was friendly! They also had a fun Spinning wheel where if you spend $30 you get 1 spin and $50 you get 2. We ended up with a free flight and pint glass. read more

After all, craft breweries hardly existed and now, the space is more diversified than ever. There is something beautiful about these small breweries, chasing their passion and living off this magical drink. Fire maker Brewing, founded by a guy named Elliott Hall with a passion for beer in college, who did a truly spectacular job finding the right talent to work at his brewery. Some passionate, relaxed and polite people, who will be able to help guests navigate the selections. The beers are spectacular, with the blonde ale being a particular standout. The brewery itself is placed right by the side of the road, so there are aspects of the exterior space that need a good bit of work. The "beer garden" does feel like a "beer parking lot" in many ways, as it lacks any greenery or sense of separation from the parking area. The front patio is not a ton better, also being situated right in the parking lot without any separation and cars blasting by. Interior, however, is much cozier. Whole cut wood tables, with intricate texture and a layer of lacquer. An open space that feels inviting and cozy. And of course, a small bar where the magic happens. As a new addition to the area, Fire maker is such a wonderful place and they do some truly spectacular beers. Although parts of the environment are still being refined, this is a brewery to keep on the list in the city. read more

We have been waiting for this place to open since fall of 2019. They had a soft opening weekend of 3/6 and we had to stop by for a beer. The parking spaces are limited, but there are other parking close by and you can walk there. We came by on a beautiful Sunday and it was packed. They have a outdoor area that's covered with plenty of seating. The doors were open to the inside and everything looks new and clean. They have a mural of dragon on one wall and on all the tables. They have an Instagram worthy blue wall with a blue stuffed dragon. I tried the Royal velvet, which is a lavender saison, and enjoyed it. The beer was easy to drink with subtle lavender taste. I also liked their Chattahoochee tea IPA. It wasn't super hoppy and has a nice tea flavor. Hubs got the alt & catch fire, which he enjoyed. I have heard many great things about fire maker so figured I would give it a try. We went on a weeknight, and didn't know that they had trivia going on. It took a little while to find parking, as the main lot was full. I tried a flight of sours, and my boyfriend tried a flight of IPAs. Out of all 8 beers we tried, there wasn't even one that I loved. They all tasted like there was something missing. Definitely doesn't compare to some of the other awesome breweries in the Atlanta area. I would be open to going back and trying again, I'm sure they change up their menu quite often. read more

Yum. Yum beer here. I went in and had a couple on the house from a staff member who handed me free pint cards at Total Wine (go figure). John is a nice guy and a great host! Told me all about any beer I was interested in, lots of sampling, and he seemed genuinely interested in getting the tastiest option for me. I love brown ales and they got one right now that is snappy and malty and delicious. Too they've got a cucumber cool beer that doesn't taste like pickles...but refreshing summer delight. The IPA's are well done and the Alt in the Atl is also something to be proud of. A great selection all around and I really enjoy the ambiance as they had Olympic tennis on one TV....Avatar the Last Airbender on another....excellent! I'll be by again soon. I thought this place was great! The only downside is that there isn't much parking, but luckily when I went there weren't that many people. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors and they have card games and shuffleboard! I quite enjoyed their beers, I found them really refreshing and they had a really good sour that I liked! In terms of food, I think there could be more options because they currently only serve Scoville hot chicken. It would be nice to include something that wasn't spicy because my one friend can't eat spice so all she had were the French Fries. The kitchen also closes a bit early I think. Fire Maker was probably my favorite brewery we visited in Atlanta. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating, and their beer is absolutely delicious. My favorite was the Chattahoochee Tea, a light beer with whispers of black tea. Super refreshing! The taproom is a relaxed, fun atmosphere full of dragons to complement their name. The brew garden outside is perfect on a sunny spring day. They say where there's fire. Fire Maker Brewing is smoking the competition with solid soft opening beers. Take a journey with us through their menu with us! Up To Code is a lusciously thick and creamy Nitro Irish Stout and when we went it was just in time for St. Patrick's Day. It was a little bit lower gravity, but didn't skimp on flavor or fullness. Solid. John's favorite was Perfect Match American IPA. It was balanced and smooth with hops on the back and one of those drinkable beers. He also enjoyed the New England IPA because it was hoppy and juicy at the same time. Way Down Yonder Lager is a super drinkable lager that is mild on the hops, but big on taste. Liz's favorite was the Where There's Fire Rauchbier. Not being a huge smoky beer lover, this one was one of the most unique, in a good way, and much loved. It was like smoked bacon in a glass! So tasty! Beyond that we tried, Alt & Catch Fire Altbier that was pretty good with slightly hoppy notes, as well as the Pale Scales Pale Ale, which was low ABV making it mild and drinkable. Finally, Chattahooch-Tea IPA was pretty balanced between the hop taste and tea. Just note that parking is limited, but the brewery space is nice and expansive with a nice patio and you HAVE to see their mural. It's pretty cool. Pictures of it and the beer included! read more
