We went on a weekday morning, early, so there was absolutely no wait. Our waiter was quick and attentive, and our food came out quickly. The quality of the food was impressive and fresh. The grits had bit of fresh corn, which I loved, and all of the food was fresh and well-made. We were walking, but I did not see a ton of close parking. However, the resturaunt is funky and comfortable inside.
This was actually my second time visiting, so I decided to try something different from the menu. On my first visit, I ordered the smoked salmon and poached eggs breakfast entrée. This time around, I went with the shrimp and grits. While the presentation wasn't the best, the dish was extremely flavorful. It truly hit all the taste notes that make a meal memorable. 10/10 -- would absolutely recommend!

We received our food but trying to get someone's attention for silverware took quite a while. The drinks were just ok, although they have quite a few cocktails available. And the food was just okay... nothing super special. However, the restaurant itself is really pretty. Ambiance is chill, definitely a place where you can meet with a friend to catch up so that was nice.
Stopped in for brunch and got a few items. I got the Reuben with a substitute for turkey. It did not really look like turkey. It look more like corned beef, but it was good. The French toast was just OK. However, the corn beef hash was amazing. The service was great and the ambience is very laid-back. I will try a couple more dishes. The next time I go back overall had a good experience.
House made food with excellent flavor. My husband NEVER likes grits but these were a hit because they were so hearty and even had pieces of corn. Everyone was friendly and I love that they offer some outdoor seating for days when the weather is nice. Parking not the greatest but there's a garage right across the street. Overall, Highly recommend.

Our server was friendly, prompt and provided a few suggestions. We ordered our breakfast and everything was cooked to perfection. Served hot and was fresh. Cobb salad with pork on side was refreshing and the perfect portion size. The breakfast platter was served with a pumpkin pancake, choice of meat and eggs cooked to your liking. No complaints. Parking is available at a reduced rate if you park in the correct parking lot.
Came in last Sunday for breakfast. Such a cute spot! We got there around 10am and easily got a seat. It started filling up around 11. Our waiter was nice and attentive. I got a sweet potato pancake with peanut butter and banana plus a side of eggs. The pancake was soooo good!! Definitely recommend!

I took off a star because it can get pricey, particularly with the small, unexpected upcharges.

Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages I had the reuben and cobb salad. While the salad was refreshing and delicious (always order extra dressing), the reuben needed more cheese and sauce. Verdict I'll be back!

Our brunch date began around 10:45am this morning (Saturday). I parked in the parking garage directly across from the restaurant (viewable from the window). Sadly, I found out that they don't validate! They do however offer discounted parking on a different garage, so be sure to park there instead. My friend walked in as I was parking and immediately got us a table. For a Saturday, this was especially exciting. I had worried about this since I couldn't find online where they took reservations for parties under 10 people, but I didn't need to! While they had other patrons dining already, they weren't completely slammed. I walked in the doors and entered a cute, casual restaurant with artsy flair. Our waitress was stylish and friendly. I ordered the three egg omelette with Gruyère, red peppers, green peppers, and mushrooms. The omelette was a little well-done for my taste, but still yummy. It came with a thick cup of grits that had corn in it, which gave it a nice sweet taste, as well as a choice of toast (I went with an English muffin for an up-charge), along with my request for the peach habanero jam that was calling my name. My friend got the gluten free French toast with hash browns and avocado. It's always nice to go somewhere where allergies are accommodated. I look forward to returning to try more dishes!

I really loved this little place in Decatur. It felt like walking into a local diner that was family owned, but more upscale. Our waiter was really nice and made some great recommendations. I ended up getting their pork chop sandwich which I wouldn't have ever gotten without their recommendation and it was fantastic. Great location! Very walkable area with a decent amount of street parking. The staff were great at this location; we got served pretty quickly. My eggs Benedict was not it, unfortunately. The hollandaise sauce was too runny, my poached egg was over poached, and the spinach either came out of a can or was frozen in a bag before being cooked. THE GRIT FRITTERS THOUGH WERE SO GOOD. Located @ 174 W Ponce De Leon Ave Decatur, GA 30030 Health Score 81 = B on 3/10/2026 This Breakfast / Brunch Spot is located in the heart of downtown Decatur. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Turkey Sausage and The Complete Breakfast and added a Sweet Potato pancake. Overall the food was good. But I wish med I had more turkey sausage in my burrito. It mostly consisted of just eggs. A parking deck is located just around the corner but you also have Decatur Train Station about two blocks away if you don't drive. The service was great and our waiter explained the menu options and the substitutes we could make for an up charge. Basically, you can add or change any of the breakfast selections but keep in mind that it will be $2 to $4 more depending on your selection. The ambiance was steady and not too busy for Tuesday morning. It was the customer service for me. Much Appreciated. read more

I've been here twice so far & the service was fast both times! I enjoy the ambiance of this spot, it reminds me of a neighborhood Diner! I enjoyed all of the food here but beware, the grits are sweet. If you don't enjoy sweet grits, I'd skip them. read more
I was in town for a quick visit and got recommended by friends to check this place out. The ambiance is great with plenty of indoor seating and a bar area. I sat at the bar and the service was quick and efficient. The price was decent, and I had to pay for parking. I breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, has browns which were awesome, chicken sausage, toast, and fruit spread made in house. Overall, my meal was good. I give a 4 stars versus 5 because I wanted a latte but they didn't have any flavored syrups. I would say it is a great place to check out. read more

I had the Folk fried, a big flavorful piece of fried chicken on a magnificently baked biscuit topped with fried egg and sausage gravy with real sausage none of that crumble crap. Damn that was good. Stopped in for brunch after leaving the court house. I loved the chill vibe and the extensive options for brunch. The menu is well balanced with lunch, breakfast and your typical brunch dishes. I had the full breakfast with a sweet potato waffle and veggie sausage. It was delicious! Our server was great with our large party and knowledgeable about the menu. I'll definitely visit again if I'm in the area. read more
Table for 2 for breakfast I've passed by this place countless times, and we finally decided to stop in on a Sunday morning. Parking was easy--there's plenty of street parking in the area, and on Sundays, it's all free. There are also a few lots nearby if needed. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted and let the host know we were looking for a table for two. We were given the option to sit at the bar or a table. At first, we chose a table, but it looked a bit sparse and limited, so we opted for the bar instead. We were seated quickly, and after a few minutes, our server, Jordan, came by to check on us. There were QR codes on the bar to scan for the menu, but she also offered paper menus --which we appreciated. I already knew what I was getting before we arrived: the Maple French Toast with sausages. Wifey went with the Complete Breakfast (eggs any style, choice of breakfast meat w\ grits and toast) and a coffee. They offer a nice selection of specialty coffees, so I ordered a mocha. Our drinks came out first. My mocha was delicious, just a little on the small side--it was nearly gone before the food even hit the table. When the food arrived, it looked and tasted great. My French toast portion was huge! While we were eating, the place really started to fill up. A line even started forming outside, so I'd say we came at just the right time. After a long morning of traveling from CT, we found Folk Art for brunch and decided to stop in. Though it was an hour wait, the food was totally worth it! Their pigs in a blanket were a great appetizer, and we were both happy with some of their specials - the catfish and grits and the short rib and grits. The short rib was so tender and better than I've had at a lot of restaurants, and the tomato shrimp sauce that the catfish and grits was served with was very well seasoned and delicious! Loved the aesthetic in here and would definitely return. read more

We don't come to Folk Art very often and it had been a while since our last visit. I'm not sure if the menu has changed at all, but we were pleasantly surprised by some of the options. We stopped by early on a Friday morning, and there were only a few other patrons inside, which meant it was nice and quiet. We chose where we wanted to sit and our server came over right away. We'd taken a look at the menu ahead of time, so we were ready to order. I wanted the three-egg omelette and chose sautéed spinach, tomato, chicken sausage, and feta as my fillings. I decided to sub out the hash browns for grits instead. And biscuits aren't listed as a side on the menu, but I was able to get one of those instead of toast with my omelette. My husband had the same meal but with a couple of different selections for his omelette. Our food didn't take long to arrive. When it did, we were both pleased with how flavorful everything tasted. The sautéed spinach was seasoned well and added a very nice touch to the omelette. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and we didn't have a ton of time to linger that morning so we were also grateful that we were able to get in and out pretty quickly. The only thing I have to note is that each time we've come to this location, there has been a faint damp smell in the air, and it almost feels a bit humid inside. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it is off putting. Otherwise, I honestly think we'd come more often. read more

I ordered breakfast via DoorDash and that'll probably be the last. I ordered catfish and grits and fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes (i didn't get a pic) are the nastiest i have ever had. The breading had ZERO seasoning. Just tastes like flour and tomatoes. The catfish was big for one piece, didn't have much flavor. The grits, peppers, and eggs made up for the lack of flavor in the fish, if eaten all together. read more

I walked in and asked to eat something that they would serve to someone famous walking in. I was served the corn beef hash and I am happy to say that it did not disappoint. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the flavor with the hash was delicious. The ambiance is so welcoming and can tell this is a place locals eat. I'm so happy I found it. read more

So this is officially my first time eating at this restaurant. I visited years ago when I had my orange Dodge Challenger and I tried the parking garage across the street the app didn't work with my phone then. Fast forward to last Saturday I tried again the parking garage across the street it didn't work with my new phone so then I tried parking app.com around the corner on the sidewalk no luck I went home. I found out today from my waiter that I can park at their parking garage that says public parking right past the building with the blue arrow $5.00 for 2 hours! This time I actually ubered to the restaurant you learn something new every day. I saw pics online before I visited and I had to go with the chicken and waffle known as fowl play this hit the spot delicious words can't describe until you taste it for yourself! Fried chicken breast with a waffle with peaches and whiskey and syrup and butter! The menu here is extensive also. I visited on 8-2-2025. read more
My friends and I came here on a Saturday around 9:45 am to find them already almost full. We opted to sit at the bar since there was a wait for actual tables plus I enjoy watching the cooks in action anyways. We got their mimosas and champagne punch which we delicious. For food we tried their french toast with a side of sausage, turkey melt with a side of hash browns, and braised short rib eggs Benedict. The french toast was thick and served with real maple syrup. My turkey melt was made with a well toasted hearty wheat bread, filled with caramelized onions, cheese and turkey. Hash browns were crisp and salty. Then the short rib was beyond tender and so flavorful. We were all so happy with our choices and I already can't wait to come back to this comfortable, diner experience. Highly recommend others to try this gem out! biggest let down is that there is no private parking so you'll have to fend for yourself on that front. read more

I have to admit that I am unfamiliar with the area, but i have a family member in the hospital aprx 14 minutes away. The food was great. I got the folk southern fried, which consists of a fried chicken breast on top of a biscuit, with 2 eggs and covered with sausage gravy! The food was delicious! So flavorful. The gravy was an excellent consistency. I must say that even though the place was not busy, I wasn't greeted properly. I was asked if I was picking up, which struck me as odd until I observed the next poc after me was a grub hub delivery driver. The order was to go, for me alone. The real issue was the auto gratuity of 15% wasn't mentioned beforehand. On top of that they ask for a add on tip of 2% to7%. I stumbled because the percentages were wrong but I figured I would correct that with cash. Of course they don't print the receipt first and then take payments because of course then you would be informed. Also be aware there is also a to go fee! I don't like feeling like im being taken advantage of. Unfortunately with the app, it doesn't tell you that free parking is non existent. I had to park in the structure to the rear of the restaurant. $5 for 28 minutes that it took to get the food. read more
I am visiting from out of town and am very disappointed with this place. It was recommended by a friend so we went for brunch. There were six of us and they sat us at a table that could fit use instantly water was dropping from the vent. I told the person that sat us and asked if we could move she said there was no where else to move us and the table behind us had the same issue. She said we could sit outside but would have to wait as had already waited about 20 minutes. The water kept dropping and I asked the server if there was a manager. He said the woman that sat us was the manager. They also ended up seating another large party at the table behind us and they were complaining of the same issue. The main problem I have is the manager knew there was a problem with water dripping but she said nothing to us about it prior to seating us she could have said there is an issue with water dripping do you still want to sit here. That would have been the appropriate response. She also told us they knew there was an issue and the repair man was coming this week. This is not acceptable and as a manager it's unbelievable that they seat patrons at these tables and say nothing about the issue. So I cannot recommend this service and the manager for her handling of it. Would not return. read more
MUST VISIT BRUNCH SPOT - Folk Art has always been one of my go-to brunch spots in Atlanta - I was excited to see them open a second location in Decatur (slightly closer to me than their first location). When we arrived, we had the pup in tow, but there was some limited outdoor seating. It was a bit chilly outside but we had prepared for the elements and they did have some heaters. I'm an iced coffee girl but it was way too cold while sitting outside - so two hot coffees were necessary. We started with sweet potato beignets because those were my favorites from the original location. They weren't as pretty as the ones I remembered but still tasted delicious. We went with the Short Rib & Grits and the Folk Southern Fried and found both dishes to be delicious, albeit a bit on the heavy side of the brunch spectrum. The outdoor seating is a bit sparse so definitely don't recommend it unless you're ok with braving the elements! We also had some extremely slow service due partially to the power outage that occurred during the meal, as well as the server having to run out from the busy restaurant inside. But I suppose that's weekend brunch for ya! read more

I liked that they were able to add things to my eggs Benedict, like fried green tomato, caramelized onion... it was nice but I gave 3 because it all lacked some flavor. I would try again maybe something else... perhaps a sandwich or something. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The prices were GREAT! Disliked - Disliked - Disliked -Disliked -Disliked -Disliked -Disliked - The kitchen was soooooooo loud. [it's an open kitchen btw] It was a slow day so I guess they felt like it didn't matter but it was like they were speaking loudly to each other, and watching soccer so loud... the sound "goooooooooooooooaaaaaaallll" was severely competing with the low music. It started with them playing some game on their on their phone loudly at first and graduated into a full soccer game viewing party, yelling at the match and all. It felt obnoxious and annoying to be honest. I'm not tripping about them being on their phone during a slow day ... I mean they were working so who cares but at least turn it down a bit... don't make me feel like I'm in your living room. Maybe it was their sign that they were closing in an hour? read more
I really enjoyed my time here! A group of four of us came here for brunch on a Saturday. There are two locations and this was the one in Decatur. We chose it because it has a little bit more space and we are very happy with our decision. Please don't come here. If you have any issues waiting, even though the weight wasn't long, it is good to note that they do not take reservations, so just be prepared to wait for 20 minutes or so for a table to clear up, we ordered a bunch of things but I got the breakfast burger which is a double patty with cheese and hashbrowns and eggs. There is no bacon even though it is advertised on the menu with bacon you do have to add that. It was a pretty solid burger in my opinion, and I'm excited to come back here and try something else on the menu! The staff was lovely, and the restaurant was nice and decorated for the holidays! read more
