What a joyful experience to savor a soft fallefel, not fried hard, but melt in your mouth; smooth and creamy delicious. There was a healthy amount of fresh green lettuce, with red onions , topped off with a not to spicy lite sauce. All of which was served in a Pita Bread This business is handicapped friendly and accessible. There is table in the front that accommodated my walker, but I believe would not work for a wheeler. I was also able to maneuver to the Rest Room with no problems. The establishment is meticulously maintained. No staff person is standing around, and all the stations are monitored. Solid breakfast and coffee spot near Atlanta, I do think their baked goods are the highlight, but the bagels are pretty good too. Personally, I found the sandwiches a little underwhelming, but the ambiance is very much of a cozy neighborhood spot. There's not a ton of seating and it fills up fast, there was a line for the majority of the time we were there, but the service was still reasonable. Cute local bagel and sandwich spot. They do have wifi but the music isn't super conducive to working (it was hard rock). Service was great, the cashier really helped me with my choices since it was my first time. I had the Breakfast Club sandwich on a Za'atar bagel. The sandwich was very tasty. I'm glad I tried something new with the bagel, it was herby and went great with the sandwich. If the music was softer (and different) and it was a bit warmer inside (they had the fans going despite it being November), I would have hung out longer to read. Cute little artsy cafe near the train. The girls in there were kind and so happy, it was a feel good atmosphere. LOVEEEEED this breakfast sandwich. got an onion jalapeno & cheddar bagel with chicken sausage, medium fried egg and a b side hash brown with veggie cream cheese!!! Chef Terry doesn't miss so it's kind of obvious that these would be the best bagels I've had in GA- came early on a Saturday & got a onion and jalapeño bagel with cream cheese and bacon.... 10/10 had a taste of the Boston cream pie donut & was blown away. Service was fast and friendly. The vibes are immaculate. I love the decor. It makes this little part of town feel like you're at a hip bagel shop in Brooklyn. I'd also like to mention that the prices were great.... Not sure if anyone else leaving a review has ever been out of the state or even town but I was shocked at how reasonably priced everything was! I like to try small pastry/bagel/tea/coffee shops. Decatur is such a chill spot and they have such quaint shops. Immediately the cardamom bun grabbed my attention. Scones, breads and fried pastries were in the case. The menu is not limited. I was only expecting coffee options. But they have teas, agua frescas and even alcoholic beverages. I had the tumeric ginger tea which was good to the last drop. Seating is limited inside. But don't let that stop you because there is seating outside in the courtyard. read more

Prefacing this with saying I got these from the farmers market. There was a long line so I was influenced to check it out. I got a cinnamon roll, lemon donut, the cinnamon pretzel, and a bagel. I was dissapointed. The cinnamon pretzel was very heavy and kind of lacking. The cinnamon roll had a very odd taste to it. The jelly donut was pretty good, I'm just not the biggest fan of lemon. Located in the heart of Decatur square! Parking here was definitely a bit of a tricky situation and on the pricier side. There wasn't a super long line when we got there. We opted to build our own bagels. I got the sea salt bagel with egg, bacon and cheese. And we got another with the plain bagel. I also ordered a matcha latte. The matcha latte was definitely not the best. It was super clumpy! It was also not super sweet and tasted more like milk than matcha. The bagels were on the smaller side as well. The eggs were wayyyy too salty even on a plain bagel. The bacon was pretty good though, very thick and had a good charred flavor. Overall, I thought the food was okay, and parking was lacking. The Za'atar bagel was very good and it was my first time ever having this type of bagel before. Paired with a garlic and chive schmear, it tasted fantastic! The barista was very nice and they had a good menu. They make their bagels from scratch every day and it tasted very fresh. The coffee was pretty good, but they didn't have straws, which is the only negative to the whole experience. We parked just down the street as we did not see a lot for parking nearby. It is pay to park on the street though. There are only about five tables inside, so it's not really much of a sit down place. They had a few outside patio tables. Very cute spot! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to B-Side Coffee! The food, service, and ambiance of the shop were all incredibly pleasing. One of my favorite things was the ability to customize your own bagel and of course, I took full advantage of that! We ordered an onion, jalapeño cheddar bagel with roasted garlic and chive schmear, and added their B-Side smoked salmon. It was more than enough for my boyfriend and I to share. We rated it a 7.5 only because we've had better elsewhere, but the flavor of the schmear was delicious and the portion was just right for the both of us. For drinks, I went with an iced matcha latte made with almond milk and their house-made vanilla syrup. My boyfriend ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and their house-made caramel and cinnamon syrup. We both agreed that our drinks were a solid 10/10. The house-made syrups were hands down our favorite part as the flavors really stood out to us. We would definitely add this coffee shop to our list of favorites! read more

We decided to give this place a try and had high hopes since it seems to always have a steady flow of people coming and going. No free parking, you have to park on the street or in one of the nearby lots and pay. The inside is beautifully decorated, but very small and only a few seats. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a croissant, and my husband ordered an iced vanilla chai. The lady taking our order was trying to do that and talk to a coworker at the same time. She repeated the order back to us wrong and had to start all over. After I paid, she said she'd go ahead and get my croissant and the drinks would be ready in a few min. Instead, she finished the conversation with a coworker, went to the back and the. took another order. When she was finished, I asked about the croissant. She apologized for forgetting and got it. The wait for our drinks was about 10 min. My husband had to go back to the counter and then they made them. The croissant was ok but drinks were bad. However, I can't deny that b-side is one of the city's best after a recent weekend morning visit. We stopped in for a quick bite and were so impressed by this spot's wide and slightly left-of-center menu that goes far beyond the basic bagel and schmear. While her egg on a kaiser roll was delicious, my zaatar bagel with olive and caper cream cheese was one of the best I've ever had, and made for a fun, Mediterranean twist. We finished our meal off with a monster cinnamon roll that was worth the trip alone. 3.9/5 First Visit: My first visit I got the strawberry matcha w/ almond milk and a cinnamon roll. They must've ran out of paper because I don't think my order was received. It took me 15-20 mins to receive my drink and it wasn't as packed when I originally ordered. The matcha was just okay, it lacked sweetness and a strong matcha taste for me personally. I had to add in some simple syrup from the coffee station they have in the back. The cinnamon roll was pretty good, especially after I warmed it in the microwave. But I would be okay if I didn't have it again. Second Visit: I only had the toasted hazelnut and brown sugar latte w/ almond milk. I asked for it to be extra sweet and they definitely delivered. Just note that you'll need to do a little manually work ( get on knees) in order to plug on a device due to the plugs being the bench. A cute little coffee shop in downtown Decatur. It's right as you come out of the marts station going toward the library. Staff was friendly and helpful. Waited patiently, and I didn't know what I wanted. I opted for a coffee special of the day with brown sugar (sorry can't remember the name of it) and a bagel, the person at the register recommended the strawberry cream cheese that's their specialty. It was a good call, very good and light. My coffee was good and flavorful, but next time, I will opt for a stronger choice. I came at the right time because as I was sitting, it got really crowded at the register. Most people were ordering and picking up to go. When I left, I noticed people outside on the patio area dining and a few with pets. I would definitely return. Great ambiance, coffee, and service is a winning combination every time. If you get here after 10:30 AM on a Sunday, there will probably be a line out the door. Even at 9:30 AM, there was already a steady stream of people going in and out. The outside tables were already filled by then. The coffee was actually hot and stayed as such for quite awhile. Bside "lox": This was just okay. The bagel was over toasted and actually on the overcooked side. Looking at my picture, the seeds on the everything bagel def has a char so I'm not imagining it. There wasn't much about this that made it super unique. Sure the cream cheese was aplenty. The smoked salmon wasn't really distinguishable since it was squished between a badly burned bagel. I love lox. I mean love it. But this was just a 2 star experience. The b-cast of burden: Delicious! The beef tongue was really tender. The sauerkraut and horseradish sauce gave the sandwich nice flavors. The bread actually wasn't burned on this sandwich. It was also a sizable sandwich so that was a plus. Def the most unique item on the menu and a must try. Would I come here again?! That's a big maybe. Sure the staff were busy, but isn't it your job to cook, or rather toast bagels pretty much all day? Lox bagel (4/10): maybe the worst lox bagel I've gotten in Atlanta? The fish was not the vibrant pink cured salmon you receive in your average lox bagel; it was dark in color, a bit fishy in smell. Nonetheless, I ate the bagel. There were none of the trademarks of a lox bagel that brought out the flavors: hardly any pickled radish, a few capers, a measly spread of cream cheese. Not worth for $10 dollars. The baristas were kind and helpful. Informed me that there was no free parking around and the closest lot was around the corner, which was $16/hour, a steep price to pay to sit in a small, seemingly indie coffee shop. It was a bit cramped but had a small-town vibe to it, making it a quaint place near a prestigious university like Emory. If I lived around the area, walking is most likely preferable if you don't want to pay $32+ for a bagel and coffee. read more

So a good set up for working it was just super loud even on a weekday afternoon, so I maybe wouldn't recommend it for working. ***FOOD*** I got a breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese on a roll. I think it was their main sandwich but I can't remember the exact name. It was very good though! I also got an iced vanilla latte and it was good! It was a standard latte with oat milk. ***PRICE*** I paid 15$ total including tip, which isn't too bad for breakfast in Atlanta including a latter with a milk sub. ***CONCLUSION*** I'd definitely come back but probably not to work since it was so crowded and loud. When looking for a coffee shop with wifi (and pastries) for a coworking session with my fabulous sister-CM, I'm so happy that we stumbled upon b-side on Yelp. Located in Decatur Square, b-side is a part of the Deer and Dove family and a busy coffee shop and so much more. Working here was great on my end for most of the period but the wifi was kicking my butt lol. It's also a bit loud so come prepped with headphones. But it's a chill spot that I enjoyed and can't wait to work at again, without meetings lol. When I arrived, I grabbed a seat and took in the restaurant for a moment. Such a beautiful place, the wooden accents made me feel like I had stepped back into time for just a bit. I snapped out of my thoughts for a bit and joined the growing line so that I could claim my own caffeine gold and something delicious to pair it with. I had my eyes on this gorgeous danish that was just calling my name! I turned my head for a second and boom - the lady in front of me had it being bagged up. Omg. [if you ever seen that episode of Seinfeld with the marble rye...] I opted for a strawberry hand pie, a breakfast sandwich and a coffee as I mourned the danish. I want to like this place as it's nearby, but the service can be grim, indifferent and erratic. I aways get a sense that customers are viewed as an inconvenience. In our recent visit, my husband and I waited behind a few people until it was our turn. We started to give our order to the woman behind the counter but, without comment, she suddenly diverted her attention to the three people behind us. This delayed our order -- which was just a bagel, scone and regular coffee -- as the trio had a lot of questions about the menu offerings and each paid individually. (Same person taking orders at the counter also manned cash register.) Still five stars! I'd been here a couple of times since my last review, but this time around I tried something a little different than my usual caramel or lavender latte. The last few times I stopped in, I noticed the cinnamon latte but I just wasn't in the mood for that flavor profile. Let me tell you something... I don't know if I'm just incredibly ready for fall or what, but I went for it this time and it was the best latte I've EVER had! I went once a little over a week ago and have been back for it on two more occasions since then. I also ordered their seasonal veggie quiche on one of my trips, which was made with tomato, onion and feta. The eggs were fluffy and light while the crust was flaky and the perfect consistency. I just wish it had more tomatoes, but the onion and feta flavor came through really well. Overall, the food and pastry options are divine. The staff is friendly and doesn't mind answering questions. It's not a huge space so the noise level really just depends on when you go. I've been there early in the mornings and it was moderate with people already seated and chatting, and I've been on rainy Sunday afternoons when it's pretty quiet and calm. Note: Just be careful with their coffee cups if you order a hot one. I've had a couple of instances where it has popped off and some of my coffee has spilled! read more

A huge fan of Deer & The Dove, I had to check out b-side eventually. After a failed attempt to get brunch at further into the city, we found b-side still open and I needed food and coffee stat. I ordered a cappuccino which kept me warm while waiting outside for our bagels. It was close to closing so all they had left were everything bagels... which are honestly my go-to bagels anyway! The bacon on the BEC was thick and delicious. I'm always down for smoked salmon on everything... and I saw the roasted garlic + chive schmear... I was sold. Came to b-side post workout for a nice bagel. There was plentiful parking close by but definitely expect to pay a few bucks sadly. For a Saturday morning there was a little line, but moved very quickly. There was seating both inside and outside and we opted for the outdoors seating. We both ordered a lox bagel and split a macadamia white chip cookie. The cookie was by far one of my most favorite white chocolate macadamia nut cookies ever. The lox bagel to me felt small and didn't have enough lox in it to constitute it's $15 price point. The bagel itself was great and had a nice flavor and baked well.
