Bacon, egg & cheddar with chicken sausage on an onion bagel

This is the best bagel spot I've ever been to period. This is my second time and every single time I visit Atlanta, I'll make a point to stop here. It's so damn good. Service is pretty quick for how busy they are, and it's adorable inside. And they have a lot of options. Definitely come here because it really is the best you'll find in Atlanta.

Pretzel bagel with garlic herb cream cheese

The bagels here are tasty and they have a good variety of flavors! I was excited that they had a pretzel bagel, as those tend to be hard to find, and it definitely tasted like a pretzel! The bagels aren't the softest or fluffiest bagels I've had, but still pretty good. I sampled the fig almond cream cheese and while it sounded really good, the almond extract flavor was just a bit too overwhelming for me, so I went with garlic herb and it was super flavorful! The inside of this place is also adorable and all of the workers are dressed like they work at an old soda shoppe, which made the experience really nice. The service was fairly quick and the people working were very friendly and helpful.

FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD TO EMERALD CITY | I've had Emerald City Bagels on my list for years, but due to the distance from Dunwoody, I have never made it. One Sunday morning I finally made the trek to East Atlanta to order a bagel for breakfast. I almost ordered a bagel with spread before I spotted the Suffolk on the menu. It looked pretty tasty - and while the pricing was not available on the menu board, I was still willing to risk it. It comes with a spread of choice - so I opted for the lox platter cream cheese spread, which turned out to be an additional $0.50 since it's considered a "gold star" cream cheese. After tax and tip, it ended up being over $18, which seems a bit steep for a takeout bagel & lox, especially for 2022... I can only imagine how much it costs now. The bagel is STACKED - definitely delicious but it was on the pricier side for sure. I'll probably opt for a bagel and spread next time, especially in this economy!

A solid bagel spot located in East Atlanta Village, where it feels like a corner of NYC. Walking in, it's like youre in a diner from Wizard of Oz. The workers are friendly, giving me some good suggestions, and I had a kind interaction when picking up my food :) It's a small space with no seating inside except 4 chairs by the window, and there are 4 tables out in front (and 2 tables in the back toward the bathrooms) but it is a charming little place! There is a parking lot in the back, if you can't find street parking in the front. I ordered the Suffolk (lox) with garlic herb cream cheese, which came out to be $17.15 before tip. You are able to taste test the cream cheese before you order! The bagel itself had kind of a tough-chewy texture, and I felt like it was skimp on the lox. It was still good though but the price was quite steep for what it was.

The Nassau and an iced coffee

Food: stellar Service: friendly and efficient Ambiance: clean and charming This is a delicious and authentic bagel shop placed right on the beltline. Perfect for catching breakfast in the morning and then going on a pleasant stroll. I had The Nassau and throughly enjoyed it. This place was busy at 11am on a Saturday l, but we go through the line and received our food in a reasonable time even with a crowd. Seating is outside and limited. So prepare to possibly share a table with someone or just not get a table. Other than that, this place is a gem that I'd happily go back to eat.

We got lost on our way to Krog food hall and we stumbled across This adorable bagel shop. The inside is so retro and the décor is charming. They have a nice variety of bagels and we tried the pretzel one with regular OG cream cheese. You can just get your bagel with schmear or you can get a sandwich with eggs and bacon or lox . The bagel was tasted fresh and they made it super quick. There is only places to sit outside. There is apartments all around that area, even on top of the bagel shop. I know if I lived in one of those apartments I would get a bagel from emerald city everyday. Check it out on your next trip to Atlanta.

Cute little small bagel shop along the Beltline. Friendly staff. Expected prices for the Beltline (so think $$). Only outdoor seating available. Fairly quick service. Although there's a sign that clearly says NO DOGS ALLOWED on the door, still a few customers came in with their dogs. Small dogs, but dogs nonetheless. The staff didn't care to enforce it. They (the staff) even chatted about how cute the dogs were to the customers. Considering how tight the space is, if you're not a dog lover or someone who doesn't like dogs in food spaces, this may be something to watch out for. As far as the actual bagel sandwiches, they were good and stuffed well with the ingredients.

These are so good. Several members of my team love Emerald City and I had a chance to sample them recently. They are truly delicious. There was a little spice to this chopped cheese sandwich and the bagel was soft and substantial. I recommend them for a delicious breakfast sandwich.

Rosemary sea salt bagel with green olive & pimento cream cheese
    Kyja W.

My coworker picked up bagels for us from here a couple of days ago and I was blown away. I chose the rosemary sea salt with olive oil bagel and smeared the green olive & pimento cream cheese on top after toasting it. It was absolutely delicious! I would've used more schmear, but since we were sharing, I didn't want to take too much! While I love Einstein's, it was a nice change to have bagels from somewhere local that offered unique flavors in addition to classics. I loved this combo and can't wait to try more!

Jalapeño Bagel and egg with avocado
    Michael W.

I wanted to have a quick meal before the Saturday Basketball game for my students and I knew this spot was nearby so I tried it was pricey but had a great feel about it based on the location and the look inside, but I ordered the jalapeño bagel with egg and cheese, but I had to get my avocado on the side "They Don't Put Hot on Cold I was told ‍" so I went to my car and was about to eat because it was so packed as I bit into my sandwich and after second bite hair was in it. I took it back and they refunded it and I didn't make it an issue just made my experience less than stellar, I probably try again because I get that can happen anywhere but hey it happened ‍ ‍ .

After seeing so many incredible reviews of Emerald City Bagel, I decided to drive 30 minutes here (and 30 minutes back). The staff is great and I was greeted by the owner as I came in the back, for a second I thought I was coming through the wrong entrance. You can either come in the front or rear doors, which have an upstairs balcony. The inside of Emerald City Bagel looks like it would be in Manhattan or Chicago. When placing my order. I told the employee I heard so much about their incredible bagels, and asked "What makes your bagels so great?" his response was "They are made fresh daily" --- not exactly what I was expecting, but okay. They did not have any poppy seed bagels, which was a big disappointment. Their bagels are priced at $2.50 each. Just for comparison, the best bagel places in Chicago and NYC charge around $1.50 to $2 per bagel. Moving forward, because they didn't have any Poppy's, I went with three of the classic everything bagels and got a tub of their garlic herb cream cheese. Overall, their cream cheese is outstanding. The bagels, however, in my honest opinion are nothing spectacular. I have been making bagels myself and must say, my bagels are better. I can only speak based on their "everything" bagels, and they were extremely salty, very hard, and not chewy like an authentic bagel is supposed to be. The outside should have that nice shine, and when you bite into a bagel it should be soft and very chewy when eating it without being toasted. I will say the weight of their bagels is very consistent. Two were 108g and one was 107g. I will say $30 for a baker's dozen though is insane. So far the best bagels in Atlanta are still the Dekalb Farmers market. They are typically around 142g in weight and cost just $1.05 each and are made of all organic flours. Not too airy, not too dense, excellent chew. My final thought is if you are going to charge a premium price on a bagel, it better darn well be outstanding. I'll come here for their cream cheese spreads if in the area, but will skip the bagels. [Review #704] (2nd Review of 2024)

Went on a late Saturday morning and this place was poppin'! The line went through the door but it moved pretty quickly. I got the Eggy Pop on a poppy bagel and my friend got the Veg. Each sandwich was super delicious and I totally understand how this place came so highly rated. I was particularly a big fan of the veggie combination and have a newfound love for watermelon radish now. There is parking at the back of the building and along the streets. It's a small place so you'd be lucky to catch a seat here, your best bet is finding elsewhere to sit down and eat! Can't wait to come visit again!

Emerald city bagels is the gem of EAV, stopped by here for a brunch on a busy monday morning. Even though the shop was packed we only had to wait for 5-6 minutes. Love their collection of bagels and toppings. We got all different kinds and were not disappointed. The only thing was they forgot to toast our bagels I'd blame it on the rush. The quality was exceptional and service was fast. It is Diner/Atl themed with some up-cycled Marta seats in the cafe. Seating is limited but they have both indoor and outdoor. There is free street parking and some garage near by. You can bring your fur baby here and enjoy the outdoor seating. I highly recommend it for bagel lovers or someone looking to get brunch. Their coffee is also amazing!

After many, many months (okay, years at this point), I returned. Unfortunately, I had the same experience with my order. I ordered the Hot Italian. It was warm, and that's all this sandwich delivered. The porchetta was dry, chewy and bland. It was so bad that I didn't eat it all. And the pepperoni and soppressata didn't add any spice to the sandwich. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed in soppressata! I thought the pepperoni mayo would add some kick as well and maybe it would have if there had been more than a half-tablespoon of it. And the bread was not fresh! I could have cried over this. The cost is outrageous for this kind of quality. On the upside, the service remains top tier and the space is still welcoming. But I won't be back. When I saw they now offer an oyster night on Wednesdays, I decided to give it a try. As a South Louisiana girlie, hearing zydeco music playing as I walked up instantly set the tone. It added a touch of home and fit perfectly with the Louisiana aesthetic they are going for. It was a welcoming start. I have visited before and was previously let down by their Boulevard location, so I walked in hopeful but realistic. The oysters were a dozen for fifteen dollars, which is a great price. Once they arrived, I understood the cost. The seasoning and flavor were truly good, but the oysters themselves were extremely small and a bit tough. The meat was tiny and often stuck to the adductor muscle, which took away from the experience. I also ordered a side of corn. Unfortunately, it was a zero out of ten for me. The cobs had no flavor and were served with only a bit of fake butter and crab boil pooling at the bottom of the plate. I did not finish them. On a brighter note, I tried the Zulu Punch from the happy hour menu. For five dollars, it was a solid drink and definitely worth the price. I will probably return because there are menu items I do enjoy. I just know that the next time I come here specifically for oysters, I will need to lower my expectations.

The restaurant was recently rebranded and I was curious to see what was new. I stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised from the moment I walked in. Seating was open at the time and Noah, who was both the bartender and our server, greeted us with water right away. I have never been impressed by a casual restaurant's menu design before, but The Pub at EAV truly stands out. It is well thought out and visually appealing. I had been eyeing the tom yum wings for a while and ordered them as an appetizer. They were flavorful and served hot. The restaurant also provides complimentary house made pickles, and they were genuinely good. For my drink, I tried the Sneaky Link cocktail. Noah added muddled strawberries because it was a fresh batch and needed a little balance. I would honestly recommend keeping the strawberries as part of the drink because it turned out delicious. For entrées, we ordered the Heck Fire Burger and chose to have the bread served shareable style. They bake their bread in house and it is so good that they could easily offer a bread service option on its own. We also tried the lamb shank which was tender and very well prepared. The only disappointment of the entire evening was the bread pudding. It was recommended with a lot of enthusiasm which made me excited to try it. I ordered it to go and reheated it at home. Unfortunately, it tasted freezer burnt and slightly cross contaminated, almost as if it had absorbed the flavor of another item nearby. I am not a picky eater, but I could only take a couple of bites. Overall, The Pub at EAV is a great addition to the neighborhood. For someone who had ordered online and already paid, it took WAY too long for me to get food that was already prepared and sitting on the counter. I walked in and it was almost like no one wanted my money. One of the staff passed by me to go outside and ran into me but didn't address it at all. Not even a "whoops". The young man behind the bar was casually talking to another customer who was clearly on their way out. No problem, until it became a problem. I stood there for several minutes not knowing whether to interrupt their convo, and once I realized I wouldn't be addressed otherwise I decided to just butt in. I work in the service industry and truly could never imagine leaving a new customer hanging like that. Mind you, I wasn't even in a rush and was enjoying my rainy day... which should let you know how ridiculous this interaction was. To make matters worse, they literally just threw the sandwiches in a paper bag. I don't mind minimalist packaging. But this was just disrespectful lol. All the sandwiches were just mashed together and deformed and unsightly once unwrapped. Unfortunately I don't remember any of them because they just weren't memorable. The interaction in the restaurant didn't make it any better. I've seen comments that some of the young (mostly white) "hipster" staff can be oddly passive aggressive to certain clientele... usually I don't agree with those views but man that day really made me think they had a point. First and last time. No bueno.

    - hambo - okie dokie(?)…read more- watermelon salad The hambo was okay in my opinion because there wasn't too much proscuito or filling. But that could just be the bite I had because my friend really liked it. I love the okie dokie(?) sandwich because I love artichoke hearts. It's definitely on the smaller side so I would get two sandwiches next time. The watermelon salad was fun and refreshing. I wouldn't get it again, but I did enjoy the flavor. (Just not sure if I can justify 4$ for a small side salad.)
