Visited Raani Coffee Shop in Atlanta after seeing it on Instagram, so I had pretty high expectations going in. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed as I hoped to be. The concept is interesting -- a coffee shop with Indian-inspired flavors, and I liked that they use jaggery as a sugar alternative in some of their drinks. They also roast their coffee in-house, which is a nice touch. We tried the Madras Kaapi, which tasted decent but felt pretty normal overall. I honestly would've loved the experience more if they had served it in an authentic Indian-style steel tumbler and saucer, which could have added more character to the presentation. The Gulab Jamun Latte was okay as well, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it feels like a regular coffee shop with some Indian flavor influences rather than a fully unique experience. That said, it's still a pretty new place, and I hope they continue to develop the concept and grow into the crowd they're aiming for.

I came here after a bunch of recommendations from my friends. Came on a early Saturday morning about 9:00 a.m. The place was not busy at all. We tried the madrass kaapi and the cortado. I really wanted to try their pour over but I was told that they don't offer pour over on the weekends. I wish there was a better way to know that before I went in or updated on their social media or website. The space was not too busy and they definitely would not make an exception to the rule. I wish it wasn't a blanket statement and would be considered based on their occupancy. Heads up avoid it on the weekends I guess. The pastry selection is pretty good we tried the blackberry masala danish and it was pretty well balanced and definitely worth a try

My friend and I rushed to make the 4pm close barely to try this place! We wanted to try filter coffee but they were all done. We got the much recommended gulab jamun latte and the cardamom coriander bun. The bun was so good! Pricey at $6 - I'd recommend this to try. The latte - is deceptive. The name suggests gulab jamun but it basically just adds the rose and pistachio flavors. It tastes good and it's not extremely sweet. But do not order this to experience the gulab jamun flavor.

I grew up drinking a lot of chai. It's been a core morning and afternoon ritual in my desi family for as long as I can remember (and yes, twice a day, every day). That mix of cinnamon, cardamom, sugar, and milk is not just delicious; the aroma alone feels like home. No matter how many times I try, I still can't quite recreate my mom's version. Even so, I've never met a cup of chai from an Indian restaurant that I didn't like. So, when I heard about Raani's, I had to give it a try. The chai here ($4.50) didn't win me over. For my taste, it needed more sugar, and the flavor felt a little watered down. I usually love cardamom, but the amount in my cup was overpowering. It wasn't a bad chai, just very different from what I'm familiar with. What did steal the show for me was the Cardamom Coriander Bun ($6). It's on the smaller side, but the flavor makes the price worth it. The balance of sweetness and spice was spot on, and the bread itself was incredibly soft. I also tried the Kaapi Cake ($6), which was moist with clear notes of chicory coming through. So next time I'm in the area, I might not drop by for chai, but I'll definitely grab a pastry.

If you're looking for an authentic filter coffee experience, you might be disappointed. I believe they make their coffee in batches. Which is fine. But it lacks the notes of chicory which sets a regular coffee from a filter coffee. Having said that. I do want to give them the appreciation of bringing a beverage cherished by everyone from back home to the city of Atlanta (not north Atlanta). The parking was limited but we were still able to grab a spot despite the busy Saturday morning.

Had a great experience at Raani this weekend! The space on the inside is very well curated. It's bright, open, has plenty of natural light, and ample seating. Seating includes a large shared table which is suitable for studying and a 2 counters with outlets for laptop charging. There are also games/toys for kids and some books as well. The Madras Kaapi is very authentic to what you can find in South India. It isn't sweet and has a deep flavor which distinguishes it from other similar preparations. They also offer more typical preparations which I have yet to try. Later, I tried the chai and found it to be very authentic as well. The owner was also working that morning and was very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience there and can't wait to be back. Atlanta has gained an excellent coffee shop that coffee and chai lovers will enjoy for years to come.

Raani recently opened up in EAV, and I was so excited to try it. I visited Raani a little while after they opened Monday morning, and everyone there was super welcoming. There was ample parking in the lot by Raani. This establishment is absolutely beautiful, and I really loved all the Indian/South Asian decor that was incorporated into the space. I ordered the chai and masala cheddar biscuit, which were both delicious. I was a bit skeptical when they said they use oat milk in the chai, but I was super impressed and that's coming from someone who is a complete snob when it comes to chai. So grateful for this lovely addition to the EAV area, and I cannot wait to visit again, especially to try the kaapi!

I stopped in to Raani which is a roaster and coffee shop in the old Hodgepodge. It is a cute little spot with several coffee options and a small case of baked goods. We opted for a drip coffee, cappuccino (the alternative milk they have is oat), and a chocolate chip cookie. The coffee was tasty and beautiful (I should've gotten a picture of the foam art) and the cookie was fresh, chewy and delicious. Service was friendly, and we are excited to have coffee in this space again. There is one large communal table and a few other tables by the entrance. The space is smaller than the old Hodgepodge since the record loft is in the front, but there is still a decent amount of seating.

You've got the check this place out! The pastries are out of this world and their coffee is excellent they make their chai fresh daily!

Sooo so cute. The big windows lit up the interior so well, and it was just sunny and beautiful. The baristas were really sweet, attentive, and complimented my hair. My gulab jamun latte was beautiful as well! It wasn't the sweetest and didn't quite taste like gulab jamun, but I did really get the integrity of the rose flavor, which I appreciated. It was pretty lively in there, and the wifi was good to do my work. If you get the chance, I'd also recommend stopping by the record store next door! I popped in there after Raani closed, and it was really cute and colorful. Both made for quite a pleasant afternoon! I'd definitely come back here :)

i've been excited to try this new south indian and woman owned business in east atlanta. they offered very unique treats that included specific south indian flavors like cardamom, gulab jamun, chutney, etc. we ordered a lot lol i hardly remember names for everything but we got a chai, gulab jamun latte, tomato and chutney pastry, the golden oatmeal crème pie (vegan) and a curry chickpea type pastry. so good! really loved that they had a lot of seating options from floor seating, tables, group seating etc. loved the huge windows bringing in natural sunlight. and a number of outlets to plug into. great for working and meeting friends in a great location. baristas were kind and helpful.

Stopped in to grab coffee to go this week. The inside is super cute. We got the gulab jamun latte. So good! They also had some yummy looking pastries. Plenty of parking too!

First time visitor to Raani and I left so impressed! The staff were so sweet, the pastries were DIVINE, and I would 100% recommend Raani to my friends. Salted jaggery latte was also very good.

It feels bright, welcoming, and genuinely built for people who want to enjoy being there. What really sets it apart, though, is the team. Every interaction I've had has been excellent. They're friendly without being overbearing, happy to chat, generous with recommendations, and consistently positive. You get the sense that they actually enjoy what they do, and it makes a difference. The Good Times Latte is one of my favorite coffee drinks anywhere. I can't get enough of it. If Perc sold their syrups by the bottle, I'd probably take them home and put them in everything. The drink is already fantastic, but that little touch of habanero sugar takes it to another level. It's the kind of detail that sticks with you long after you've finished the cup. Easy five stars. I can't wait to be back!

Super cute and yummy coffee shop…read more I came here on a Friday morning around 10a.m. It was active inside with about 3 people ahead of me but the line moves quick. There's a steady traffic of people going in and out. The staff are welcoming and pleasant. I got an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and slice of the pistachio cardamom cake. The latte was ok but the cake was phenomenal. The latte had a decent flavor but it wasn't strong. Plus it tasted very grainy and milk-heavy, overpowering the coffee. My slice of cake was so moist and delicious without being too sweet. It was perfect. I'd definitely come back again more so for the desserts than the coffee. They have some indoor seating and a cozy table on the sidewalk just outside the front door.
