I tried their new Strawberry and Tahini Iced Latte and there was barely any flavor :( This drink was super milky. Even the coffee flavor itself was very hint. For the price paid, this was not worth it. However, the cafe itself is pretty nice. The interior is neat and welcoming. They also have some outdoor tables and chairs to sit at. The barista serving me was super accommodating and let my friend and I eat our outside pastries here. They even gave us plates and cutlery which was super nice of them! I think this shop is now under new ownership and feels a bit more upgraded. Still good same vibe, still kind baristas, no more brews. Busy inside with lots of people working. Convenient outside if you have a dog with you like me. I was hesitant about trying the banana bread latte but I'm glad I did. I got it with oat milk, small. I don't like very sweet so I'm glad I got the small. I think any size of the hot has 2 shots so more milk and flavoring would've been too much for me but the small was perfect. I suppose I could get the bigger one but just add more shots. VERY good. Totally worth coming back. Had the oatmeal cream pie and I'd probably try something else next time. read more

For parking, I parked on the street for free ~ easy. II. SERVICE Considerate. I came on a day they were slammed with a massive order of probably 30+ drinks for a company. I waited for an extended period of time for my drink. The employee who took my order was kind enough to give me a free beverage as compensation for my long wait ~ Shows they actually care. Every single time I come here, it's as close to perfect as it can possibly be. The food offerings are standard fair. I wish they had more and kept a better supply. Especially in the morning. Looking for a latte after brunch and this location was just down the street. They have special coffee blends from different parts of the world. This was my first time so I let the batista choose as I ordered a latte with Almond milk and caramel. Their Almond milk is already sweetened but Thier caramel is made in house!! It's not pumped, but dosed from a squeeze bottle at the batista discretion. I shared my concerned about the Almond milk already being sweetend so he wrote "not too sweet" on my cup. My latte was perfect!! I would make it a point to come here for their quality coffee. They also have beer and coffee/beer fusion drinks. The space has lots of seating inside and tables outside. Thanks to my friend who lives nearby, Taproom has quickly become one of my favorite coffee shops. Taproom is such a great local coffee shop with high quality coffee, pastries, and even local art (on a monthly rotation). The staff is absolutely wonderful and friendly, and you can really tell they enjoy working here. Their seasonal beverages are always so delicious and allow me to try something apart from my usual lattes. This is one of my favorite places to do work or just meet up with friends when I need to get out of the house. There is ample parking in the back and nearby street parking. Also, because Taproom is right in the middle of Kirkwood, there are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. read more

This place is very nice. I took a morning run and decided to stop by . I ordered a Chai Tea . It is very good. I don't normally like hot tea or coffee so I was ready to not be impressed but they made a fan out of me. Customer service is very welcoming. Since this isn't my usual thing, the menu was explained to me and they offered great suggestions. The vibe is relieving. I went around 8AM on a weekday and most people were stopping by before work, walking their pets or exercising. It was consistent but not overly busy. Hey everyone well hanging in Atlanta on a hot day I was in the mood for iced coffee and this was recommended by my Airbnb host a good recommendation. In a nice enough neighborhood to take a walk or sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while sipping on an iced mocha not too sweet not too bitter chocolatey nutty flavor but still pretty good I usually like my Iced mocha on the sweeter side but it was a good change to me, I also sniffed out chocolate bars at this coffee shop with the cacao nibs made with coconut milk I could definitely taste the coconut milk in my chocolate bar but good chocolate!! This neighborhood is dog friendly, with restaurants and gym close by!! A small parking lot in the back other than that it would be street parking or feel free to roam around the neighborhood like we did on foot!! I'm on a quest to stay away from coffee shops that are named Starbucks, Dunkin', and Peet's. With that being said, I found this gem on yelp and decided to stop by since I was in the area. As other reviews have mentioned, this coffee shop is located in Kirkwood which is in Historic East Atlanta. The shop is very spacious and clean. There is room to sit and work or study. The cashier was very pleasant and accommodating. We ordered iced latte's, one vanilla and one caramel, along with two chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were delicious. The latte's were good, we didn't taste much of the caramel or vanilla, but they still had good flavor. Perhaps it's because we frequent Dunkin, and well, I'm sure their latte's are full of hard to pronounce chemicals. I would definitely come back here, I would probably try a hot latte next time. read more

I found Taproom Coffee pretty early during my time in Metro Atlanta, and it's a shame that I've never reviewed it until now. The store is located in Kirkwood amid many different shops. There's no dedicated parking, but you'll never struggle to find free street parking nearby. Taproom Coffee serves beer and Opo Coffee. I'll one day navigate the entire menu. No just kidding, come here for the Beerspresso. Holy crap is it amazing! You really haven't lived until you've had a perfect blend of a stout with great coffee. I don't necessarily love either by itself, but blended together, it's perfection in a cup. Outside of the Beerspresso, the biggest highlight of Taproom Coffee is its charming and relaxing atmosphere. The shop has plenty of seating, including outdoor space. There's plenty of outlets, so you'll always be able to charge your Macbook as you write the next great American novel. Come to Taproom Coffee for the Beerspresso. Stay for... another Beerspresso? Yeah, that sounds like a great day to me. read more

This is my favorite coffee in the city. Every single 5 star rating is well deserved. In my dream world, they would also offer gluten free baked goods, but the coffee is great on it's own! I've come here several times, both to hang out and to do work. It's a nice change of pace from octane with a different sort of atmosphere and fewer crowds. Staff isn friendly and service is good. I like the chai tea latte here and the pour over coffees. They feature a guest roaster of the month (currently Portland based) and East Pole coffee. I've also had the ice coffee here in the summer. The espresso machine is a converted beer tap, hence the name. It's always pretty good quality wise and it helps justify the high price tags. But I'm not sure most coffees, even fancy ones are worth $5/cup. Food options are ok but a bit limited, mostly just pastries. read more

Just moved to the area. I have been careful about going out to places especially indoor dining. And it was a nice transition to finding a new normal as we moved across the country. So, this place has enough space for me to feel ok about being indoors with people. There's ample parking and tables. The coffee is good, of course. Taproom Coffee opened April 2014 in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta. Taproom serves specialty coffee and beer. The business was successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/taproomcoffee/taproom-coffee-specialty-coffee-and-craft-beer-bar). It's a really cool coffeehouse that has quickly made a fan out of me. The coffee shop has an open, modern design. The interior looks like it was lifted directly off the pages of a catalog. Simple and aesthetically pleasing. I like how the walls transition from concrete to tile to wood. During the daytime, natural light fills the space. At night, the seating area is illuminated by dozens of hanging bare bulbs. The cafe seats about 40. There's seating by the windows, a long communal table in the center of the shop, and several smaller two-tops. There's free Wi-Fi and a casual, laid back atmosphere. This is a great place to unwind and hang out. I'm not a beer drinker so I've only had the coffee and tea here. Taproom has partnered with and serves Counter Culture Coffee. The coffee menu includes espresso, macchiato, cortado (espresso cut with a small amount of warm milk), cappuccino, lattes (including vanilla and caramel), mocha, Americano (diluted espresso), cafe au lait (French coffee with milk), iced coffee, drip coffee (mornings only), and manual pourover coffees by the cup. Outside of coffee, there are various hot teas, chai tea latte, and simple smoothies. Expect to spend about $3-6 for a cup or more of each of these items. There's also a limited selection of foods such as breads, muffins, Danishes, pies, and other assorted pastries. For a fun and neat experience, order something from the Manual Pourover Bar. You get 16 ounce servings of brewed-to-order coffee. The selection of manual pourover brews varies. The coffees you will find are unique, high quality, and organic. Examples include Elias Benata from Ethiopia (natural sun-dried), La Golondrina from Colombia, Baroida from Papua New Guinea, and Aida's Grand Reserve from El Salvador. The latter, as its name implies, comes from a special reserve lot from renowned coffee producer Aida Batlle. Her special reserve lots are bid upon and come with high price tags. At Taproom, a 16 ounce serving of her Grand Reserve coffee was priced at $10. Taproom provides details for several of the coffees if you're interested. Details include origin/history (e.g elevation, processing technique) and helpful tasting notes for the true coffee connoisseur (of which I am not). The notes are helpful to me, however, in deciding which coffees to select from earthy to savory to floral to fruity to chocolate to sweet & sugary (coffee flavor wheel). Special teas also come with a miniature pitcher with tea leaves, which can be refilled with hot water at the counter. The baristas will let you know the recommended steeping times for each tea. Service is fantastic. The friendly owner, Jonathan Pascual, is a genuine coffee enthusiast and local coffee shop master, having opened and managed various coffee shops around town including Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee and the coffee bar at Empire State South. Taproom is located in what looks like a small mixed-use/mixed-retail development in Kirkwood on Hosea L Williams Dr. Free street parking is available directly outside. My boyfriend and I love checking out new cafes so we were excited to try this place out after seeing such awesome reviews here. But what a disappointment. I got the hot chocolate which should have been called lukewarm chocolate because it wasn't even hot or warm enough. It tasted like it was made of some cheap hot choco powder from the store. Very bland. My bf got doppio espresso which he always gets whenever we try a new coffee shop. He thought it was so-so. We were also busy waving our arms around because there were some flies and gnats. Yeah, that's definitely not what I'd want to see and be around at a cafe. A cute coffee shop in Kirkwood with booze and caffeination alike. We stopped in for a rainy post dinner nightcap. I ordered a soy dirty chai to sip on while people watching. There wasn't much to people watch on a Saturday night, but there was a painting class going on in the opposite corner. The chai was a little sour with the espresso but the soy calmed it down. Counter culture isn't my favorite for this reason - it's not the best for soy dirty chai's, but I never seem to learn my lesson. Next time I'm just going to get a pint of draft local beer or a latte, straight up. Coffee is good but I had a horrible experience with a condescending and rude barista. This is not a kind place that values its customers.

Being fairly new to atlanta, the first thing I decided to look up were coffee shops. I found taproom coffee and decided to drive from Lithia Springs to Kirkwood and see what kind of coffee shop I'd start to call home. What I noticed almost immediately was the decor- impressive yet simple. As far as coffee and pastries go: Blended drinks: the blended drinks are good though I have one complaint- the day I ordered a blended mocha, they had run out of espresso (........?!) so I was given a hot chocolate blended drink. It was way too sweet and didn't satisfy my coffee crave. Aside from that little incident, every time I've gone to taproom, the drinks were well made, they have XK macarons for ones enjoyment, and a laundry list of delicious pastries to sink your teeth into. I also loooove the beer floats and beer/coffee combos readily available for you. If you don't like coffee or beer, they have quite a few teas to choose from as well- and Mexican coke which is in fact, better than the regular. This place can get pretty packed on weekends; it's nice to come in, have a drink, and use the free wifi. 4 stars given because of the hot chocolate blended and lack of French press read more

Very mixed feelings. Google recommends this coffee shop on my maps as top rated so naturally I had to try it! My go to usual is a Carmel cold brew/ice coffee whichever they have so that's what I tried. It was probably the WORST I've ever had. The coffee tasted watery, and ... sour? No real Carmel taste either. I even tried to add cream when I got home and it still did no good. Down the drain it went. However, my boyfriend likes Starbucks Carmel macchiato which they don't do so they made me their version which is more of a latte. This he absolutely loved. Drank every last sip even though he was in protest of me bringing home a hot coffee on a hot Atlanta day. So 1/1. Aside from coffee the shop has indoor and outdoor seating, pastries, and even a beer selection. They were Covid friendly and very pleasant. I've visited Taproom Coffee twice now, for small get togethers with a friend or two. I love the clean, uncluttered interior and the coffee menu. They serve a solid usual menu of coffee and tea drinks and have flavored syrups available. They also serve different beer selections, but I can't speak to them. Some pastries are also for sale. Taproom is a popular place for working. During my first visit, there were so many people there with their laptops, I was worried my friend and I wouldn't be able to find a place to sit, but we were able to snap up a 2-person table. There are long tables in the dining room which offers some flexibility for folks comfortable with sharing seating with strangers. One of the long sides of the coffee shop faces the street with bar seating and large windows, which let in plenty of light. This place is chic, friendly, and beautiful. Parking is available on the street and in the lot behind the building (access is to the right of Taproom). I'm happy to find this pretty little place! read more

I think everyone who comes into a new environment should be intentional about spending some time rolling around aimlessly and do what can be done to explore the paths less taken. Sometimes that means making sure you clear out all of your social media updates and you listen through every SnapChat collection and Instagram story from the people you follow and in turn, if you find yourself in the very general vicinity of where some of the people you follow are in, you can also see this place for yourself. I happened to have done that. One of the people I follow documents her life via Instagram and her and her husband came to this coffee shop. Now I love coffee. I love flavors. I love pinpointing and reminiscing about flavors I had and seeing what I could to mimic them. And I totally love Ethiopian pour-over coffee, Chemex or whatever, pour over and I'll not go into the intricacies of what pure pour-over coffee is like at what boiling temp, grind consistency, and other needed elements that make a good pour over a good pour over coffee. All I know is, when I drank it, it was smooth, not a bitter after-taste, and was easy to drink without that bitter bite. Taproom didn't have Ethiopian pour-over but they did have an amazing Rwandan blend that was a bit fruitier than I'd like but the fact that this place has such a communal vibe was just the tilt it needed to be that 4 star. To be a 5 star, have Ethiopian pour-over on hand and you have me. Tucked away in the Kirkwood neighborhood by the Kirkyard Public House, it's probably in a place you wouldn't have expected and would've passed by if you weren't looking for it, but that's why you explore and depend on the content of your social media because this place is a gem. They even have craft beer here that they'll brew for you. Just make sure you get here and just find a spot to park. Parking around here is total garbage. Be warned. read more

They gave us plenty of tea leaves in the tea- definitely enough for three refills in the pot - about six cups. And the whole set up is very cute. It wasn't crowded. We both loved it. I met up with a friend here one rainy Saturday morning just to chop it up. As soon as I stepped in, I was in love. For one, anyone who knows me, knows my addiction to coffee shops. Most specifically my addiction to Dunkin Donuts (That's a whole different story for another day). With Dunkin, I love being able to come in and get a deal and get some work done on my laptop. When I go someplace local, I think I just love the atmosphere. You can come in and see people genuinely enjoying each other's company. This cafe was no different. I can feel and see the unique vibe of the Kirkwood community. The area its located in is bustling (even on a rainy day) with people just looking to enjoy the company of their friends or fam over a nice dish. Ok, on to the actual cafe. There is decent seating and room. As in you're not falling over someone's table trying to get to your own because the space is cramped. Nope, there's plenty of room, thanks to the setup and amount of tables. Some shops are notorious for that. Customer service was great. The woman who took my order was so helpful, friendly and patient. And if you know how I roll when deciding what to eat, you know this is important bc I will take ALL DAY making a decision. I didn't do too bad this time though. I ordered a caramel / vanilla latte (can't remember). It was so good. I love my drinks sugary to the point you can barely tell what they are. But I could actually taste the flavor of the latte here. And that sausage and cheese pocket????? OMG SO FREAKING YUM! My "meal" hit the spot. And I only paid $9. But again, the atmosphere was great. Not too loud, my friend and I could have a decent convo without having to yell or repeat. Always great. And we sat next to a big window and people watched for a while. I wish I was there late enough to order a beer just to taste (not a beer person, but I'll still try anything at least once). Limited free parking is available on the street alongside the strip.
