A vibe! Reminds me of a cafe/coffee shop in New York. It's so cute, and such a calming ambience.

This was a meet up location at this charming coffee shop that was a mid-point from where we live. This was one of the many choices we had but wanted something local, a solid co-working space and of course coffee. I didn't look up the menu prior but it's truly a coffee and tea spot. They sell whole beans, all types of coffee drinks, teas and some merchandise. There's no food for purchase so plan accordingly. Parking is limited in front of the cafe but there's street parking if you check the signs. There's construction on the 1-way street so park at your own risk. I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk. They didn't have any SF syrups which was odd. No alternative natural sweeteners (agave, coconut sugar, monk fruit, etc.) either - just Stevia. The counter service was kind and helped me navigate the selections. I was staying so the iced matcha was served in a glass. It was typical decibels for an active coffee shop - music, talking, espresso machine and there were a handful of kids. Overall, it was fine for a quick meeting but not likely where I'd return. Seats weren't that comfortable and it's small. read more

This is my first time at this location. I happen to be nearby taking care of some other things. So I decided to go in. It was a pretty busy Sunday afternoon. There was one table available at the door maybe one seat available at the bar? It was pretty quiet atmosphere. I was helping me at least since there was no line. It was my first time, and I shared this with the barista. And she kindly explained and answered all my questions. I decided on the vanilla bourbon latte, which is 0 proof and it tasted great. Great coffee, not a lot of parking. I think this place was on my list for a long time and am so happy I finally brought myself to the shop. It has a lot of tables, including a few outside, however, it is very busy and does fill out very quickly. It isn't what I would call a cozy shop, however the vibe it sets is very cool, with great merch and decor to show off inside the shop. Good customer service, great coffee. Stumbled upon this spot when my go-to location had unexpectedly closed for the day. Store front parking is limited, but I'm glad it didn't deter me from going in. Upon entry it was a steady crowd, but not too busy. Ample seating with a cafe style atmosphere and plenty of their whole beans throughout the space to choose from. Such a nice coffee shop in Edgewood! It's a small place but surprisingly a decent amount of seating inside. There were a lot of people on a Friday morning, which was a good sign to me that this would be a good place to get coffee and/or work. I tried the London fog and it was delicious! I also tried a little bit of my friend's London fog spritz, and it was really such a unique drink and I liked it. The pastries also looked really good. Very moody, very spacious, and very vibey. Chrome Yellow is a cafe that is tucked away in a corner, finding parking will be a bit difficult but the visit will be well worth it. I've come here twice now and it's literally my favorite spot. Parking is limited so beware but I just park on Edgewood and walk. It's always not too busy on a Saturday morning which is also why I love it. The baristas are all super nice and I find the drinks to be reasonably priced. I love the vanilla bourbon latte and if you drink it there the mugs are the best. This place is perfect to sit and read and have a slow Saturday and I love it!! I got a macadamia nut cortado and espresso. Very good espresso. The espresso had a nice citrus flavor and wasn't too acidic (personal preference). Would definitely come back here. The cortado was well balanced. And there was a nice layer of foam at the top. The macadamia nut had a rich flavor and creamy texture which I appreciated as I usually use oat milk and it doesn't contribute much I terms of flavor or texture. It's been about five years since I last visited Chrome Yellow, and I found myself in the area craving some iced coffee after 4 PM, so I decided to drop in and see what had changed. The parking situation was the same--only four spots in the lot--but I was lucky enough to grab one. I guess stopping in 50 minutes before closing has its advantages. Walking inside, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia as the interior hasn't changed a bit. It still has that same cozy, welcoming vibe that I remembered. They had a new iced coffee flavor, Salted Caramel, which I couldn't resist trying. With the oat milk up-charge of $1, my 12oz drink came to $7.08. It's definitely on the pricey side for the size, so I don't see myself becoming a regular, but I have to admit--the drink was delicious. It was too late in the day to try any of the food offerings, but the coffee alone reminded me why this spot has stayed a local favorite. I saw all the reviews about the london fog here and had to try it. Spoiler: they are all right. This might be the best london fog I've had in Atlanta since coming here. My 16oz hot LF was about $6 which is fair around here. You can clearly taste the vanilla/earl gray with a tiny hint of citrus. If anything, it could have a bit less milky, and it would be perfect. Next time, I will try it iced. This cafe is decorated in a simple, rustic manner. It is fairly quiet with only the background of the coffee making. You can look into the coffee roasters at the back of the place. Wooden tables and metal chairs. Some bar tables by the windows. There's two tables outside for seating. There are only a few outlets by the walls and one by the window area. They have limited free wifi. If you purchase something, they are supposed to give you a wifi slip with a code that is valid for 2 hours. They even sell some merch, and not gonna lie, their Chrome Yellow mugs are very cute. Their parking lot is very small though, maybe about 6 spaces. All around you can try to find street parking. read more

Delicious coffee & bites! I am visiting ATL for the first time, and local friends insisted we all meet up here. I love the plants and bright vibe of the coffee shop. There's even a section in the back for buying merch (I saw a glass pour over set that I'm contemplating sticking in my suitcase before heading back home). There's wifi, ample seating, and plenty of lighting. The service was great! I wanted a savory food item, and there was only one. It was a beef and raisin empanada. The raisin threw me off, but the barista suggested I trust the process. Glad I did, because it was DELICIOUS! I also ordered a freshly brewed coffee, which was PERFECTLY brewed :) Everything was great! The only thing I'd change is adding more savory food options. I'll definitely be returning :) read more

A family run trendy plant filled coffee shop with a vintage yellow Ducati bike right inside of it. The spot opened in 2015 and is operated by Kyle and Kelly Taylor. Kind employees, chill vibe and stylish mugs. Roasting happens on-site. The interior screams "cool." You pull up and immediately see this is a primary example of minimalism. Cinder block building, painted all black, with the name in a basic font (which by the way is in white, not yellow-just saying), and a few potted plants. That's it. And you know this is can only go one of two ways; bland, easily forgetful coffee or an experience so elating that you talk about it for years. Well, here I am writing this review just over a year later so now you have your answer. I was staying in the area (like less than a mile away) and searched "coffee" on Yelp. CYT popped up and I started walking. I stepped inside to an aroma I have grown accustomed to at home (Augusta, GA); quality roasted beans that have been grown and are being pulled for espresso. I had the Americano, a maple oat latte, and left with a bag of beans. And the final verdict? If I could, I would have stayed in ATL just to visit here more. The best London Fog I've ever had, such a tough position to be in. The menus are printed and easily observable. Atmosphere very relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating available. The London fog is rich and creamy with dimensional notes of citrus and vanilla. O appreciated the warm temperature vs piping hot. This drink was truly artisanal. Stopped in yesterday and everything was great taste wise. Ducked a point because I was in a hurry as I was in the middle of a move and I did wait around to be able to make my order for a while. I got there and there was someone ordering, and he and the woman at the till had a little conversation while I was waiting (perfectly fine, we all need to take a sec to be kind, that's fine) but he left and then I stood there waiting to be acknowledged and to be able to order for another 5 min while 3 people behind the till did other things including sip on matcha and talk amongst themselves while making other orders. Had I not been in a huge hurry I probably wouldn't have cared as much but I was, and I had a large order so I had a wait ahead of me once I ordered too. Clean and plenty or seating. My order was all correct and great. But it's a coffee shop, so not everyone is hanging out all day long sipping on coffee. Some people have got a move on. read more

I'd heard of Chrome Yellow for quite some time, and we finally stopped by with some friends for the first time today. We all enjoyed our drinks. My husband was considering the London fog spritz, and the barista's very enthusiastic response convinced him. He thoroughly enjoyed the combination of flavors, which were vanilla, thyme, and orange along with the earl grey tea. I was hoping for a few more syrup options than the ones that were available, but I love a caramel latte and have only ever seen a salted caramel latte on the menu at one other coffee shop out of town. Unlike the first one I'd ever had, the one at Chrome Yellow was very subtly salty and not too sweet, which was much appreciated. There are a few spots to sit, and we were able to find a table for the four of us to enjoy our drinks in the shop and chat. It was the perfect setting, with everyone keeping their voices at a conversational level and the music was noticeable but not obnoxious. Very delicious light roast on drip when I was there. Found the place via recommendation of asking Gemini to summarize Reddit /coffee and /espresso groups. Among the 3, I had the opportunity to try I think this place know their coffee beans and how to brew them. The ambient light was really nice, clean and music in the background. We got there in the morning. The barista lady that helped was really nice and willing to answer questions about my questions as to which beans they used that day. I bought a bag home to try. Located in the Old Fourth Ward (O4W for the locals), Chrome Yellow quickly became my top pick for the best coffee in Atlanta. Parking was relatively easy, as long as you're not too shy about it. The barista even let me snap his picture after creating our beautiful latte designs. I opted for a gluten-free Tollhouse cookie, which I shared with my friend--though it's one of the rare times I regretted sharing. That cookie was one of the best GF cookies I have had in a while.
