I ordered the BLT and breakfast potatoes (the breakfast potatoes stole the show ) the BLT was good as well. The Short Rib and grits were amazing. My goodness. It was delicious. I ordered the rum punch and it will get you were ever you trying to go . I felt amazing when I left here. My friend ordered the Mimosa flight and she felt amazing. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Casual, cool vibe in Inman Park, with garage doors and cool art. Lately I've been going for brunch after yoga and getting the short ribs and grits, which is an AMAZING gluten free meal. It has a huge hunk of delicious meat with a tasty au jus sauce, two eggs cooked to your liking, roasted carrots, and grits. It lasts me for three meals. I've been coming here for years and used to add kimchi to the lamb burger. Service is always good. We ordered that, fried green tomatoes, a breakfast sandwich with hash brows, and a side of the cucumber avocado salad because I felt like it was needed a non-fried vegetable. That cucumber avocado side salad was delicious. The avocado was perfectly ripe, and they drizzled this incredible spicy mustard (?) vinaigrette over it that complimented it beautifully. I wish I got more! The fried green tomatoes were phenomenal. I didn't try the breakfast sandwich, but the portion was generous. What a fantastic place. I visited Folk Art with my fellow Elite, Ashley B., on a weekday afternoon and we had such a wonderful experience! This Folk Art location is nestled in a row of lovely restaurants that may go unnoticed if you don't know what you're looking for. Despite being smaller than some restaurants, there were still so many seating options available inside and on their covered terrace. There was also tons of free parking outside in an adjoining lot which can be a rarity these days. We were seated and paired up with Cam as our waiter and, wow. What a great guy! He was so patient, super nice and so open to sharing his recommendations. He seemed like he was happy to be at work and was in such a good mood, it rubbed off on me! We started with cappuccinos and the grit balls as we decided on our entrees. My coffee was so delicious, mixed with just the perfect amount of caramel. Such a great pick-me-up. The grit balls were delicious! The peach jam was such a great pairing with the fried grit balls, a great recommendation from Cam. For an entree I went for the 'Foul Play' which is their take on chicken and waffles. I'm not a huge chicken and waffles fan but I went for it. Everything was perfectly cooked but it's still not the raving success for me as it is for others lol. Before we left I grabbed a lavender lemonade and, WOW. It was SO good. I didn't expect the best breakfast ever just by the looks of it, but the group wanted to eat here since it was nearby. Turns out, I enjoyed my breakfast the most out of everyone. I had the sweet potato pancakes and chicken sausage which was the best option for me. I tried the fried green tomatoes, which I haven't had since I was a kid when my southern grandmother would cook them. Compared to her's, theirs was okay. The restaurant had street parking and we parked around the corner from Folk Art. This is a fairly compact location so I am confident that they get very busy on weekends. Upon entry we were quickly greeted by a friendly wait staff person. She told us we could sit wherever we wanted and she delivered menus to our booth. Another member of their wait staff arrived at our table and took our drink orders. My better half wanted lunch so she ordered the steak sandwich with a side of sautéed spinach. I was in the mood for breakfast so I ordered the Folk Southern Fried (a large fried chicken breast on house made fluffy biscuits with two eggs and covered in scrumptious sausage gravy). I ordered my eggs poached and it was a delicious combination of hot fried chicken breast and perfectly cooked poached eggs. My better half enjoyed the steak sandwich which includes grilled mushrooms, onions, and red peppers covered in Provolone cheese. The sandwich has a delicious horseradish sauce piped over the sandwich. The interior of this restaurant is really cool with walls covered in art and beer signs. A very relaxing atmosphere with friendly and outgoing wait staff. If you haven't been to Folk Art Restaurant, you should give them a try as soon as possible! read more

The space isn't that big inside, but they use it very well. It is always clean and the service is excellent. I always appreciate the kindness and efficiency of the staff. I enjoy their brewed coffee and juice selection. Today I opted for the Complete Breakfast which included 3 eggs, a protein, grits or hash browns, and toast. Being in the ATL for the weekend, friends took me here saying it was their favorite brunch spot. The place is nestled in a historic part of town with parking that could be a tad difficult as it appeared to be street only. It's a bit cozy, but it definitely has a nice prideful Georgia theme going on in the interior. I started off with the sweet potato beignets before ordering the fowl play and washing it all down with a special cocktail. I forget if it was strawberry or watermelon. The sweet potato beignets were a wonderful start to the meal. I'm not a fan of regular beignets because they're just crispy pieces of air drenched in powdered sugar. These had way more substance to them, and I'd recommend sharing them if you ordered a real entree. Speaking of entrees, I had the foil play. It's chicken and waffles, complete with syrup and an amazing peach compote. The compote gave the sweet and savory fried food a slight kick and it all tasted great as an experience. I wouldn't say the chicken and waffle were all that great though, which is a little disappointing for a southern spot. The cocktail I had was very refreshing and definitely a highlight. I came here with my parents for brunch. The ambiance of the restaurant is really unique and artsy. I ordered the hot chocolate which wasn't very good and tasted watery and the quesadilla with a side of cheese grits. The quesadilla was pretty good and the cheese grits were also really good. My dad ordered blood Mary which was pretty strong and a grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup which he said was also good. My mom ordered the sweet potato beignets which did not taste at all like beignets but more like donut holes but none the less they tasted good. Pre-pandemic they were open for dinner and it was my favorite spot to get dinner before going to an event because of the free parking & no wait, but currently they're only a breakfast & lunch spot. Recently I was sat next to someone from New York, and she loved the fried green tomatoes so much she couldn't help but gush over them and tell me & the server how much she enjoyed them, it was very sweet. I've brought plenty of friends & family here for lunch dates and they've always been happy. The servers are really sweet and cool, & it's not a place that takes itself too seriously. Of course the most important thing- the food is great! I typically get the famous chicken sandwich, it's definitely earned its place. The fries are also stellar. Overall this was really great experience. I was looking for a place to eat and randomly stumbled upon Folk Art Restaurant. I went on a Sunday around 2 o'clock, so expect her to be somewhat of a brunch rush. Even though they were pretty busy, I was able to be seated pretty fast and my server was really responsive. I had the beef short ribs and grits and all I will say is the gravy on it was amazing and the meat was tender. The baby carrots were a nice touch as well. Very nice artwork and decor as well which is always a plus. On top of that they offer free valet parking with tips encouraged on the weekend which is rare for Atlanta. I decided to check this place out on a whim. The food looked good on their website and Instagram. Honestly I wasn't a fan of the food. I started with the grit fritters which were okay, I think the jam is what made me not like it. I next got the turkey sausage, tomato and spinach Benedict. I liked it but would probably would've been better without the spinach. I also decided to try the Mac and cheese which was different. I can't put my finger on it but it was okay. I also got the sausage gravy which paired well with the grit fritters. I ordered a cocktail but forgot the name - it had ginger in it which added a spiciness to it. If you like ginger then you'd like it. I ended up getting a margarita but it wasn't sweet so I didn't enjoy it. It did take a while for me to be served initially but once my waiter took my order, everything came out swiftly. The restaurant itself is a nice vibe. The food just didn't meet my expectations. There are a lot of good reviews on the restaurant so you may need to try it for yourself. read more

I've been here twice. The first time I ordered steak and egg and honestly it was delicious. Interestingly enough, two people in my group had pretty bad food poisoning afterwards but my other friend and I were fine. I had high hope for this place. Now I just got back and probably won't come back here ever again. One of my friends ended up finding a dead roach on her plate of food. Never in my life have I ever seen a dead roach in my food up close and personal. Roaches are known to survive nuclear fallouts, so the fact that they are dead in Folk Art says something about this place... We all immediately stopped eating our food after we saw that. Now it all makes sense how my other friends got food poisoned the first time I came here, I just lucked out, but I might not get so lucky this time. Even now as I'm typing this, I feel my stomach grumbling, hopefully it's all psychological, but I guess we will find out soon. Our waitress was informed of this and was barely apologetic. She just mumbled sorry and left. She did come back later with a gift card. Didn't charge my friend, but still charged the rest of us. What a joke. You can't pay me enough to come back to this place. And to have charged the rest of us is just outright ridiculous as the presence of a single dead roach essentially ruined the meals for the entire party, not just one person. I rarely give 1-star on my Yelp reviews, but this experience definitely crossed the line. read more
