If forced to pick one bad thing, I would say be prepared to eat a days worth of calories in one sitting. Otherwise.... The restaurant itself is beautiful. The ambiance is perfect for any event. The service and the staff are cool. We felt the perfect mix of privacy and taken care of. The drinks were delicious. I almost never like coffee products. However the flavors and consistency were perfect. The food ... everything must be homemade. The food is rich, but did not taste artificial or overly salty. The biscuit gravy was amazing, but I couldn't eat it all. We ended up taking half the food with us and it was just as good when we ate the left overs a few hours later. Spoons has a great vibe and I loved their outdoor seating. However, I was not a fan of their food or drinks. One of my biggest pet peeves is restaurants using singe-use plastics. The water and my cappuccino could have easily been served in something that's more environmentally friendly. I was also shocked to see how my cappuccino came half full (picture attached). I tried the Beast based on the reviews I'd seen but it fell very short of my expectations. The portion is reasonable, but it was a pretty lacklustre dish. Would I go back? Had a really nice breakfast at Spoons yesterday! We were a little disappointed their fryer was broken so about half the menu was no longer available, but the food we ordered was excellent! It was easy to grab a table and food came out quick and fresh. The oatmeal cookie latte was super sweet but really yummy! I also tried the big spoon scramble! This is not a large place, but they're very up front about their seating limitations and wait times. You can't wait in the restaurant but you get a text message alert when your table is ready. They have their tables nicely spaced, so once you're seated you aren't sharing your dining experience with neighbors, which is an added bonus. The food was delicious. We had the Risotto Benedict and the sausage biscuit and gravy. The Benedict was amazing and like nothing I've ever seen on another menu. The biscuit was also delicious, though the gravy was fairly average. Breakfast potatoes are cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The restaurant only takes cards, no cash and 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check. I'm personally not a fan of this practice though I understand why restaurants do it. As someone who doesn't ever tip under 20%, I find this frustrating and potentially detrimental to servers. We came for Friday brunch and surprisingly found the place to be packed! Luckily we got a table immediately. This was my first time coming despite hearing about it for many years. The service was quick and our server was very attentive. The food came out quickly. We got the toasted marshmallow mocha lattes- I might be biased with a sweet tooth but this was one of the best mochas I've ever had! I loved nibbling on the marshmallow throughout my drink. The huevos verdes were well done- a good option if you want something meatless and a little lighter in the morning. Spoons is a great brunch spot in Fed Hill! I haven't really heard a ton of hype around this place but there should be!! I came here with my parents on a Monday around 10:30, it's a fairly small restaurant and they only take reservations on weekends, but we were able to be seated right away. I ordered the fancy AF breakfast sandwich which was really yummy and I liked everything that they loaded it with. My mom got the hot hen which was a fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit. The chicken was super tender and the biscuit was fluffy and the sriracha honey was sooo yummy!! My dad got the 2-2-2 and really enjoyed it, the eggs were cooked perfectly and he said it was exactly what he wanted! This place was poppin yet the wait was only 15 mins for a party of 3 around 10:30 am. Very cute vibe. Wouldn't be a good place to sit and work coffee shop, but definitely an in and out quickly grab your delicious breakfast and get on your way. Our waitress was pleasant and took our coffee orders quickly. I got the Vermonter (espresso, pure maple syrup, half-n-half). This would be my Starbucks if I lived here. Such great flavor without being too sweet. You could taste the coffee. And the creamy texture of the froth was something you don't get often. I am from the south so I can't turn down a good biscuit sandwich. I for the Rock Bison (Crispy buttermilk fried chicken breast, jalapeño pimento cheese, chipotle ranch, sliced dill pickle). 3.5 stars (takeout review only). I'm sure the ambience, charm, and fun of eating out is very important which makes these reviews extremely difficult! I tried The Beast as well as the cinnabon pancakes (per recommendations by Yelp). The pancakes were very tasty and I would also recommend them for the experience (did taste just like a Cinnabun) but I wish they included a little more of the icing (small container for our stack of three pancakes). The Beast is exactly what it sounds ike, a buttermilk biscuit with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, egg, and gravy on the side. It's an extremely dense meal that I got about halfway through before feeling a little sick. I think it would have tasted better had I eaten it right at a restaurant (I'll give this the benefit of the doubt) since I was disappointed that the bacon was really soggy and the chicken was not crispy at all. Prices are also a little high (around $15 for this sandwich) This place is definitely a hip brunch spot that I would take friends to in the future due to its fun and eclectic menu, but might not be a place I would go to on the regular. read more

I have walked past Spoons on multiple occasions and never noticed it until a friend saw a post on IG. We decided to go and surely was not disappointed. The vibe in Spoons is great. From the decor to the artwork I was really pleased. We had put our name on the list for a table but decided to just sit at the bar once it opened up. The menu has something on there for everyone! I decided to go with the pancakes which were amazing! I have been craving them ever since, eggs and grits. The girts were just okay and nothing you really need to have. A little watery in my opinion but not horrible. I did not give Spoons a five due to service. The service was really not that great. It almost seemed as though the staff did not want to serve us and got annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. I've been brunching at Spoons for 10+ years... definitely a favorite for the Baltimore area. There have been some changes over the years-- one of my favorite being that you can view your party's wait status on Yelp! Located in Fed Hill, it's right across from Cross Street Market. It's also a short walk to the harbor or stadiums. The coffee and food are top notch. The coffee and espresso drinks are hand crafted and delicious! Been trying to get in here for sometime, recommend making a reservation as that's the only way I got in with my wife (not sure how large groups make the cut!). But after eating here I know why. I was in breakfast heaven. Had the latte to start and went right for the fried oysters and grits. Grits were perfectly done in a mushroom, bacon like light broth. So flavors were out of this world. And the main star of the dish, the fried oysters- best thing I've eaten in a while. Salty, crunchy, buttery, nuggets of perfection. I topped it off with a poach egg for good measure, I'm greedy. I finished this whole experience off with a rumchata Cinnamon Toast latte, definitely a go to from now on when I return. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was the service was lacking. It wasn't that busy and not many tables due to Covid. We never got water refills and had to interrupt the waitress to order another round of coffees. So I came out for Sunday brunch with a friend. I'm not the biggest breakfast person so I wasn't very excited . Thought i might get a lunch option but instead decided on the 2-2-2 (scrambled eggs with cheese, Turkey sausage and cinnamon roll pancakes). Ummm yummmm. Everything was so delish! The cinnamon roll pancake was perfection. I was nervous about the maple coffee glaze so got it on the side. I drizzled a bit on my pancake and af first the coffee flavor was overpowering but after a bite it kind of went away. The pancake was fluffy but there were also crunchy bites. I only ate one. The Turkey sausage was very good . And the eggs fluffy and tasty. I also wanted to taste the biscuit so ordered one and it was very good but it was cold when it arrived. I got a pineapple jalapeño mimosa and i have to be honest this was my least favorite thing. I've had jalapeño in drinks before but this was pretty overpowering. With the food it was bare-able. I would drink one of these every morning if I could The hangtown fry is hands down one of the best breakfast dishes I've gotten in Baltimore. Everything about this meal was tasty and fulfilling. First, the homemade biscuit was flaky, buttery, soft and just reminded me of a cozy morning. The potatoes were well made, needed a bit of hot sauce imo but that's just a preference... Now, what you've all been waiting for, is the actual fry itself. Don't expect to be skimped out on the fried oysters. I rarely make seafood at home just because of my partner's dietary restrictions , so this was the perfect perfect dish.
