Met up with family our last morning in Baltimore. Was highly recommended by my sister-in-law. Street paking near the stadium district. Very friendly and welcoming staff. While waiting for the 2nd half of our party, wife had a peeps latte and I had a cinnamon based ice coffee. Check on several times while waiting. Breakfast was fantastic. Risotto Benedict, breakfast burrito, scrambled and they shared a half stack cinnamon roll pancakes. All were fantastic. Also recommend a White lighting if you need a caffeine pick me up. Wasn't busy but looks like seating may get tight. Groups of 6 or more should arrive early. We'll laid out restaurant.
My go to breakfast place in the neighborhood. I've had a few hit or miss experiences with whether or not seating is available but the servers are kind and the food is super good!
Spoons is a classic breakfast spot in South Baltimore and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is like a typical coffee shop/cafe. The cinnamon roll pancakes are my absolute favorite thing on the menu and I have to get them every time I go now. I enjoyed washing it down with a warm spiced cider.
This place is a great spot for brunch/breakfast! Their biscuits are very delicious. The Rock Bison sandwich is great, I'd like it even more if the jalapeños were more prominent, but that's alright because there's hot sauce on the tables you can use. The hangtown fry was delicious however the sauce on top really overpowered everything else in the dish. Maybe less of it, or put it on the side could help? I'm only taking a star away from the experience because they serve water in plastic cups. I think that's just terrible. Reusable items save the planet, and it's an easy switch! Would really like to see them upgrade. I probably wouldn't return just because of the needless waste.
like everything in Baltimore, I felt like this was a very small and intimate atmosphere, but felt very homey and all the service was great. I went in for breakfast at the bar, had a mimosa and eggs Benedict and read. I will say because of the space they do have a 90 minute time for people when sitting in and dining but totally understandable.
This is a very cute spot with a relaxed feel. My friends and I arrived around 12:30pm and stayed close to closing which was 2:00pm. The hostess was nice and so was our waiter. I ordered the greasy spoon with all bacon. The potatoes was seasoned very well and I got my eggs scrambled with cheese. My whole meal was very enjoyable. The bacon was crispy and of course I had to add my own salt and pepper to the eggs but I would definitely come here again. My friends also enjoyed their meal. They ordered the 2-2-2 with French toast. I believe one got the sweet cream French toast and she really liked it. They both enjoyed their meals as well. I would highly recommend spoons for a cute breakfast/brunch spot.
We wanted brunch at a new spot, so we decided to check out Spoons, it had been on my list. Its a small space, so we had to be placed on a waitlist, which was not a problem. The restaurant had soft lighting, you hear conversations. We both ordred the 2-2-2, I got the french toast and he got the pancakes. The customer service was ok, it could have been better. Our waitress didn't introduce herself to us, which is something that I am used to at all the places I have been to. The food was also ok, nothing really stood out. We may go and try other items on the menu.
The food was outstanding. Service was great You have to try their biscuits! I cannot wait to go back
Fantastic brunch. Came on Sunday to celebrate our 25 yr old. Apple Cider Mimosa in a carafe, yum for a Fall day. Pistachio white chocolate latte, so creamy and luscious. And OMG Fried Oysters on grits with a mushroom/bacon sauce something. They were fried to perfection and everything was so great. We sat upstairs where there was lots of space and admired the amazing art work on the walls. Our server was very helpful and help us with some recommendations. Will be back.
Spoons is cute, quaint, delicious and the staff are friendly and quick. It's got all the best breakfast staples like 2 eggs, 2 slices of whatever breakfast meat you want and 2 pancakes to omelettes and sandwiches and Benedicts. We got a few items to try and the bacon was crispy, and the pancakes are fluffy, and my veggie Benedict was very standard and very good. I liked how the fruit was cut up nice and small and came with a variety. The best item is the biscuit which came out warm and fluffy and tasted so yummy with the butter packets. My orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and overall it was an excellent breakfast!
Average food, bad service. Came on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was a 30 min wait, which is no problem. Once we arrived and were seated, it took a very long time for a waitress to greet us. Turns out that same waitress was bussing the table next to us while we sat... waiting for a water or a coffee. Seems the bussing of an empty table could've waited 2 minutes to serve the table that was present... Coffee is bottomless but the waitress never came around to refill it, I had to ask. I ordered a biscuit sandwich and my friend got a Benedict, which comes with a side. Somehow the waitress got confused and brought us an extra side, as a mistake, so she took it back but she then forgot to take off the bill... My biscuit was cold - see pic for unmelted cheese... I would've asked for a new one but again, the waitress never came back to ask how it was. Despite being cold, it was tasty. They were also out of chia pudding, fine but just icing on the cake for an already pretty bad experience. Overall, for the wait time, this just wasn't worth it. Seemingly untrained staff and cold food, not sure what I'd return for.
Our party of three dropped in for Sunday Brunch. This popular spot had a waiting list. It was a 40 minutes wait, not too bad. We ordered ham Benedict with potatoes, fried chicken & pimento cheese biscuit, Cinnamon roll pancakes,and everything biscuit with bacon, fried chicken, fried egg, and sausage gravy. Foods came out fast. Everything were cooked to perfection. Everything tasted delicious. But the stand out dish was the cinnamon roll pancake with maple coffee glaze. Tablet service was friendly and attentive. Prices were fair for such high quality foods. Parking on the street only. We will definitely return with our next trip to Baltimore.
I haven't been to Spoons in a couple of years and I ventured out for brunch on this past Sunday. This time I did the Hangtown dish (fried oysters over soft cheese/bacon eggs with a side of grits) and Cinnamon Pancakes. I ordered the mushroom bacon gravy to pour over the eggs and grits. They cinnamon roll pancakes are always a hit! They really do know how to prepare frier oysters, lord they never miss! Good for a brunch date! The service was fast and attentive! I love the staff they were amazing. This was a whole vibe!
Came here on a Saturday morning and had to wait about 30 minutes - but was soo worth it! I had their breakfast burrito and added chorizo and my boyfriend had the hot hen with fries. We shared strawberry mimosa carafe which was sooo delicious! Definitely recommend coming here for brunch! read more

While visiting the area, my friend and I stumbled across this spot and turned out to be pretty good! Food: 8/10 - I had the 2-2-2, this was the perfect amount of food and filling! Everything was cooked to perfection! The eggs were a bit cheesy for me, but were scrambled great! My friend had the "Jack and Diane", and mentioned it being really good as well. Service: 8/10 - Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Ambiance: 9/10 - this spot gives quaint and spacious cafe vibes. Its intimate setting is perfect for a small number brunch group. read more

Delicious! In the Federal Hill district, I am usually pretty loyal to Blue Moon Too; however, they always fall flat with the seasonings. I came to Spoons to shake things up. I was very skeptical due to the slow cooking and no-thrills vibe! I was pleasantly surprised by the robust flavors and perfectly crispy, well seasoned home fries! I have a new regular in this neighborhood Parking- street parking or a garage two blocks over Ambiance- basic twist of modern and country Customer service- as expected Food- 7/10 (serve time was about 20-25 mins after I ordered on a slow, weekday morning) Prices- 7/10 (avg $15-25 for brunch) Because this is kind of a down home restaurant, if you're a germaphobe, you may consider bringing a UV light (I carry one in my purse), as the cooks/servers don't wear gloves or face masks. Also, the cutlery is sitting in a jar on the table so who knows how many hands may have touched them prior to you. read more

I like coming to Spoons to catch up with friends or family with a good cup of coffee and delicious brunch. Today I came to Spoon's to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday! The staff were so friendly and quickly attended to our orders. The Vegetarian version of the Egg's Benedict was delicious, I highly recommend! The coffee was a bit cold when it arrived, but otherwise this is a excellent brunch spot in a cute neighborhood. Street parking is your primary option, there is also a parking garage near by. The restrooms are clean and organized. Weekends can get quite busy, so plan ahead! I came today on a weekday and it was quite and far less busy, just nice cozy breakfast vibes. read more

If you have not yet dined at this gem of a brunch spot, you are doing yourself a disservice. This such a cute spot...the vibe is so cozy and warm. Feels like you are dining over a family member's comfy Bmore rowhome for breakfast. This was our 2nd visit, the first time I ordered stuffed french toast which was AMAZING. This time I ordered the 222 with scrambled eggs, french toast and bacon with a side of grits. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with a side of grits. We devoured our food. My French toast was so buttery with the perfect balance of crispy edges with a nice warm soft inside. The powdered sugar ratio was perfect as I usually have to ask restaurants for extra ..nope Spoons had it right!!! Needless to say, we "could have" shared one side of grits but their grits are so YUMMY that neither one of us wanted to share and we didn't want to start a conflict lol. Brunch is LIFE for me!! Spoons definitely is one of the BEST brunch spots in Baltimore City. read more
Spoons cafe reminds me of one those quaint cafe you see on movies. These type of cafe are the best cafe. The staff cares about their customer and the quality of the food is on point. I was a little worried about the 45 min wait but I was able to get walk in and get a seat for my party of 2. The latte are delicious and their home made biscuits are amazing (fyi: get there early because once the biscuit are gone for the day, that's it) Our server was very sweet and accommodating and made great recommendations. Order yourself the deep fried French toast filled With sweet cream and any sand which that has the biscuit. You will thank me later! read more

It's rare that everything about a restaurant is perfect, but those were my exact thoughts upon leaving Spoons. Okay, okay! If forced to pick one bad thing, I would say be prepared to eat a days worth of calories in one sitting. Otherwise.... The restaurant itself is beautiful. The ambiance is perfect for any event. The service and the staff are cool. We felt the perfect mix of privacy and taken care of. The drinks were delicious. I almost never like coffee products. However the flavors and consistency were perfect. The food ... everything must be homemade. The food is rich, but did not taste artificial or overly salty. The biscuit gravy was amazing, but I couldn't eat it all. We ended up taking half the food with us and it was just as good when we ate the left overs a few hours later. Spoons has a great vibe and I loved their outdoor seating. However, I was not a fan of their food or drinks. One of my biggest pet peeves is restaurants using singe-use plastics. The water and my cappuccino could have easily been served in something that's more environmentally friendly. I was also shocked to see how my cappuccino came half full (picture attached). I tried the Beast based on the reviews I'd seen but it fell very short of my expectations. The portion is reasonable, but it was a pretty lacklustre dish. Would I go back? Yes - I would give their other dishes a go! read more

Still a solid breakfast place. The wait is still very long to be seated, but they are very clear about their process--- and it has never actually taken the full amount of time that they quote. Service is still good, food still decent. They have a good biscuit for biscuit lovers. read more
They told me a 1 hour 45 min wait and we ended up waiting 35 minutes, put your name down they make up the wait times every time. As a warning, they don't allow outside drinks. The fancy af sandwich is very good! The breakfast potatoes are okay, a bit oily and not crisp but good flavor. The menu has good options, service isn't overly friendly but prompt and the food comes out quickly. read more
Disappointing experience. Service was super spotty. And the food was mediocre. Came here at the recommendation of our friends who lives close by. Was able to get a table outside on nice day which was super nice. We ordered a bunch of stuff to share. Got the eggs Benedict with side of potatoes. The whole thing was underwhelming. The muffin was a very cheap quality muffin. The ham was also a little bit tough and over cooked. The egg was good, but nothing special. The flavor was just like a regular diner. The potatoes were a little bit soggy. The pancakes were actually a little bit better. The batter was consistent, and cooked well and tasted good. The service was nonexistent, and not friendly at all. We barely saw our server, and every time she came she was a little bit unpleasant. Prices are kind of high for what you get, portion size is pretty small. I really wanted to like this place, but the whole experience was subpar. read more
Had a really nice breakfast at Spoons yesterday! We were a little disappointed their fryer was broken so about half the menu was no longer available, but the food we ordered was excellent! It was easy to grab a table and food came out quick and fresh. The oatmeal cookie latte was super sweet but really yummy! I also tried the big spoon scramble! 18% auto gratuity on all checks...... Spoons coffee w/creamer -$4.25 (on the watery side, not strong at all) Typical hipster cafe- where everything is charged. All sides are Separate. Purchased: the 2-2-2( 2 eggs, bacon and toast)- pancakes good, eggs were not real (substitute) and the bacon was good And the Challah French toast - nothing out of this world. Takes like a basic French toast you can make at home Overall 2/5: basic cafe with overpriced menu selections and an automatic gratuity on all bills (defeats the purpose of servers actually trying) read more

This is not a large place, but they're very up front about their seating limitations and wait times. You can't wait in the restaurant but you get a text message alert when your table is ready. They have their tables nicely spaced, so once you're seated you aren't sharing your dining experience with neighbors, which is an added bonus. The food was delicious. We had the Risotto Benedict and the sausage biscuit and gravy. The Benedict was amazing and like nothing I've ever seen on another menu. The biscuit was also delicious, though the gravy was fairly average. Breakfast potatoes are cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The restaurant only takes cards, no cash and 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check. I'm personally not a fan of this practice though I understand why restaurants do it. As someone who doesn't ever tip under 20%, I find this frustrating and potentially detrimental to servers. They do have their practice noted and our server highlighted it on the bill so it is not hidden. Overall a very tasty meal and positive experience. read more

Spoons is located by Cross Street Market so the parking option is street parking. It is a popular area during the weekends so it may take a while to find a spot. This is a very cute cafe, nice art on the walls. It's kind of small but it isn't super small nor tight. I did see outside dining available although we ate inside. We were seated immediately. The service was ok. The food was good. The Deep Fried Sweet Cream French Toast is a must try! The biscuits are made from scratch and so good, fluffy and not dry. We came for Friday brunch and surprisingly found the place to be packed! Luckily we got a table immediately. This was my first time coming despite hearing about it for many years. The service was quick and our server was very attentive. The food came out quickly. We got the toasted marshmallow mocha lattes- I might be biased with a sweet tooth but this was one of the best mochas I've ever had! I loved nibbling on the marshmallow throughout my drink. The huevos verdes were well done- a good option if you want something meatless and a little lighter in the morning. The side of potatoes was definitely the best part of this dish- crispy, savory, and browned perfectly. Other things our group enjoyed were the classic 2-2-2 and the eggs benedict. The ambiance at this place was so lovely, and I will definitely be returning again with more friends in the future. read more

Stopped by here after a workout class and would recommend 100%! The food is so good for brunch! We got The Beast and the Stuff French Toast. The French Toast was a little heavy than I expected and was a little overpowering on the cream but is a must try. I have nothing bad to say about the Beast! There is always a line here so make sure to come early or be prepared to wait! read more

Spoons is a great brunch spot in Fed Hill! I haven't really heard a ton of hype around this place but there should be!! I came here with my parents on a Monday around 10:30, it's a fairly small restaurant and they only take reservations on weekends, but we were able to be seated right away. I ordered the fancy AF breakfast sandwich which was really yummy and I liked everything that they loaded it with. My mom got the hot hen which was a fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit. The chicken was super tender and the biscuit was fluffy and the sriracha honey was sooo yummy!! My dad got the 2-2-2 and really enjoyed it, the eggs were cooked perfectly and he said it was exactly what he wanted! I would definitely come back to try their coffee because I hear it's supposed to be good. And the service was super friendly making for an awesome experience! read more

3.5 stars (takeout review only). I'm sure the ambience, charm, and fun of eating out is very important which makes these reviews extremely difficult! I tried The Beast as well as the cinnabon pancakes (per recommendations by Yelp). The pancakes were very tasty and I would also recommend them for the experience (did taste just like a Cinnabun) but I wish they included a little more of the icing (small container for our stack of three pancakes). The Beast is exactly what it sounds ike, a buttermilk biscuit with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, egg, and gravy on the side. It's an extremely dense meal that I got about halfway through before feeling a little sick. I think it would have tasted better had I eaten it right at a restaurant (I'll give this the benefit of the doubt) since I was disappointed that the bacon was really soggy and the chicken was not crispy at all. Prices are also a little high (around $15 for this sandwich) This place is definitely a hip brunch spot that I would take friends to in the future due to its fun and eclectic menu, but might not be a place I would go to on the regular. read more

Food was delicious. Jokingly, it seems like they just make you wait whatever time they tack on the front door just because they can There is plenty of wasted space upstairs. What they don't mention, is they tack on an 18% gratuity if you are seated upstairs - if you're tipping properly, it's not an issue anyway. Would just be nice to have had it mentioned before being seated up there. Otherwise, delicious food, knowledgeable servers, and a relaxed atmosphere. read more
We were staying in an Airbnb near spoons so this was walking distance and brunch all day made it easy for us to pop in later on our day out to museums. This place was poppin yet the wait was only 15 mins for a party of 3 around 10:30 am. Very cute vibe. Wouldn't be a good place to sit and work coffee shop, but definitely an in and out quickly grab your delicious breakfast and get on your way. Our waitress was pleasant and took our coffee orders quickly. I got the Vermonter (espresso, pure maple syrup, half-n-half). This would be my Starbucks if I lived here. Such great flavor without being too sweet. You could taste the coffee. And the creamy texture of the froth was something you don't get often. I am from the south so I can't turn down a good biscuit sandwich. I for the Rock Bison (Crispy buttermilk fried chicken breast, jalapeño pimento cheese, chipotle ranch, sliced dill pickle). Everything looked so amazing it was hard to decide but I was SO HAPPY with my choice. I also got a side of potatoes that left a lot to be desired. But luckily that just meant more room for my biscuit sandwich that I couldn't even finish. Can't recommend enough. read more
We ventured here for my BFF's birthday and the food was ALL THAT!!! We all tried a different dish so that we could sample all of the deliciousness. My dish was the cinnamon roll pancakes, oh baby! I didn't need to even add the syrup. One of my BFF's got the grits with fried oysters, I'm not an oyster person but they were cooked pretty good the blessing was in the gravy they poured all around the rim of the grits, PERFECTION! The cream cheese stuffed French toast was epic, it had the perfect balance of crispy, dense and sweet! All of the dishes we ordered were really really good!! We will be back. read more
I went to spoons for the first time a few weeks ago and was really surprised. It is so funny how sometimes you do not know what your city has to offer. I have walked past Spoons on multiple occasions and never noticed it until a friend saw a post on IG. We decided to go and surely was not disappointed. The vibe in Spoons is great. From the decor to the artwork I was really pleased. We had put our name on the list for a table but decided to just sit at the bar once it opened up. The menu has something on there for everyone! I decided to go with the pancakes which were amazing! I have been craving them ever since, eggs and grits. The girts were just okay and nothing you really need to have. A little watery in my opinion but not horrible. I did not give Spoons a five due to service. The service was really not that great. It almost seemed as though the staff did not want to serve us and got annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. I am willing to try Spoons again because of the great food and hope that next time the service will be better. Overall I would suggest coming here for a quick brunch, lunch with friends and just because! read more
After a desultory dining experience at another establishment last week I stopped by here a few days ago and Spoons is still offering the best brunch. My server Jessica was thorough and kind. The brick interior and hardwood floors make it feel like I'm at someone's house rather than an anonymous retailer. The food is still exquisitely curated. I've been brunching at Spoons for 10+ years... definitely a favorite for the Baltimore area. There have been some changes over the years-- one of my favorite being that you can view your party's wait status on Yelp! Located in Fed Hill, it's right across from Cross Street Market. It's also a short walk to the harbor or stadiums. The coffee and food are top notch. The coffee and espresso drinks are hand crafted and delicious! My favorite food items are the Huevos Verdes and the Parmesan Crusted Spinach Omelette. They also have the typical Bloody Mary/mimosa/beer options. Looking forward to my next visit! read more
First time here, and felt like I entered an exclusive club. Been trying to get in here for sometime, recommend making a reservation as that's the only way I got in with my wife (not sure how large groups make the cut!). But after eating here I know why. I was in breakfast heaven. Had the latte to start and went right for the fried oysters and grits. Grits were perfectly done in a mushroom, bacon like light broth. So flavors were out of this world. And the main star of the dish, the fried oysters- best thing I've eaten in a while. Salty, crunchy, buttery, nuggets of perfection. I topped it off with a poach egg for good measure, I'm greedy. I finished this whole experience off with a rumchata Cinnamon Toast latte, definitely a go to from now on when I return. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was the service was lacking. It wasn't that busy and not many tables due to Covid. We never got water refills and had to interrupt the waitress to order another round of coffees. Will certainly return for the menu though, can't wait! read more

Took the family during covid must say the experience was lovely. Would advise calling first cause it gets pretty crazy on weekends during brunch hours. We caught a nice fall day so we elected to dine outside. The service was excellent our server was polite & constantly checking on us without being a nuisance. The prices were surprisingly the same as when I last visited pre-Covid which was a shock with everything going up. The parking is the only issue because of outside dining most of the area is taken up for seating. So you're going to have to get lucky or be prepared to get a little exercise in. The girls played it safe & had the 2-2-2 meals (pancakes, eggs, & a meat of your chosen) Me I had the beast it's a chicken breast breakfast sandwich dey specializes in making. So of course I had to try it out. It is definitely a winner. #EatTheBeast read more
Make sure you get a reservation since this place is always busy! The crowds come for a reason, the food is amazing! If you're hungry, I recommend getting the beast. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful too. Great spot for brunch read more

So I came out for Sunday brunch with a friend. I'm not the biggest breakfast person so I wasn't very excited . Thought i might get a lunch option but instead decided on the 2-2-2 (scrambled eggs with cheese, Turkey sausage and cinnamon roll pancakes). Ummm yummmm. Everything was so delish! The cinnamon roll pancake was perfection. I was nervous about the maple coffee glaze so got it on the side. I drizzled a bit on my pancake and af first the coffee flavor was overpowering but after a bite it kind of went away. The pancake was fluffy but there were also crunchy bites. I only ate one. The Turkey sausage was very good . And the eggs fluffy and tasty. I also wanted to taste the biscuit so ordered one and it was very good but it was cold when it arrived. I got a pineapple jalapeño mimosa and i have to be honest this was my least favorite thing. I've had jalapeño in drinks before but this was pretty overpowering. With the food it was bare-able. I'll be back because i want to try the stuffed French toast. Service was quick and efficient. Our reservations were for 115 and we were seated right away. It wasn't very busy around that time. read more
