I can't believe they have breakfast! I tried their latte, which I subbed with almond milk. I had the Jersey sandwich and sampled the avocado toast. I loved the avocado toast because 1. I love avocados 2. I love fried eggs 3. I never heard of an avocado toast before 4.Repeat 1 & 2 :) I loved everything about the avocado toast. I liked the red pepper flakes on the runny yolk and how the yolk softens the toast. It was the perfect bite. The Jersey sandwich was delicious! Sharp cheddar cheese, fried egg and ham!? Yummmm! I wish I had added some of that red pepper avocado onto the Jersey sandwich now that would be AMAZING! Coffee was good. Strong and slightly bitter just how I like my lattes. Went for breakfast. While paying with card, the cashier snapped at me in an ugly tone of voice "that if I i dIdnt want to leave a tip I should hit skip on the payment pad." I've been there a few times, and tipped, and the cashiers have always been very rude and feel like they are trying to stare you down. Never going back there. read more

This place is great! The staff was super friendly, the service was fairly quick and the salad was super delicious! This isn't some crappy Panera Bread or Specialty's salad, this is delicious! Seriously delicious. We have lunch delivered from Split a couple of times each month, and it has been a big hit. Their salads are really really good and I love their creative offerings. I also love their fried chicken sandwiches. My only recommendation would be too add more pickles and lettuce. Their lemonade is puckery and not too sweet. A solid choice for lunch. I came here during lunch with my friend and I got the original burger while she got the classic sandwich. The line wasn't bad but the wait for the food was the tough part. Some people order so much food that it took time for my food to come out. The sandwich came out faster than my burger. Super Duper has this place beat. I ordered the Reserve Burger medium rare with a side of Split Fries. The bacon was cooked so long it was like a burnt cracker. The burger patty was unevenly cooked. The horseradish sauce added a bit of interest. The bun was buttery. Overall I thought it was okay. The fries were fine; more crunch than potatoes. The sriracha ranch saved the fries and was damn tasty! I felt as though the burger was missing something. I just didn't feel that connection that gets me hooked. At work we ordered for pick up. I personally ordered the Buffalo Sandwich and the crispy brussel sprouts. Unfortunately I was disappointed overall. My bread was NOT toasted at all. Chicken was tender and moist. The breading wasn't very impressive OR crispy however. Past the heat, there wasn't much flavor past a hit of sweetness. When I generally think of something called 'BUFFALO', I'm thinking spicy, tang of vinegar and a bit of maybe garlic or some other creative flavor in there but there was NONE. Just because something is orange and HOT doesn't make it 'buffalo.' The slaw or whatever that was was too coarsely chopped (I'm talking nickel sized sliced carrots) and cabbage just all ended up falling out and making a mess. It also didn't have much flavor just a scant amount of dressing. The brussel sprouts were not crispy whatsoever although nicely blackened. They were flavorless, soggy and VERY greasy. In the bottom of the container there was a huge puddle of oil. I literally had to squeeze the oil out of them. The siracha ranch dressing was useful in adding some kind of flavoring to everything. I REALLY wanted to like this place. Maybe I'll try another location next time if I do. I just won't be going back to this one sadly. read more

There's plenty of seating, though you'll still need to wait if you get here too late in the lunch rush. Pay at the counter and take your table buzzer while you scope out somewhere to sit. When the buzzer goes off your meal is ready and you can dive on in. The spit roasted chicken is pretty tasty and I enjoyed it in a salad along with mountains of greens and roast sweet potato and cauliflower. A great lunch spot for sandwiches and salads. I went halves in the chicken parmy sandwich and the kale Cesar with a friend. The Cesar was good, the but the chicken parmy sandwich was unreal! Definitely not weight-loss material, but a comforting warm savoury lunch indulgence. I also tried my first Arnold Palmer here, don't laugh I'm Australian! This is just a review for the salad I got today for lunch. Short and sweet: the kale Cesar with added crispy chicken NOT worth my $17.83. The chicken is super hard and not great at all. You can do crispy without making it completely burnt and hard. I was trying to recreate a salad that I had gotten back in Seattle which is a kale fried chicken salad. Fried chicken sandwiches can be tasty but you're always left wanting more - its a small sandwich for over $12 once you're out the door, So tried the Alamo salad today with a couple of customizations - that was a mistake. I've got a pile of very bland ice-berg looking lettuce (romaine hearts) and a little bit of chicken. Somehow holding the black beans and jicama also meant no pumpkin seeds or chives as advertised. So, once again, for the better part of $20, I'll be left hungry and I'm a slender, middle-aged woman - not the top of the metabolic pyramid. Hey @leslie, the owner, your company has great food but some pretty poor customer service. It's 2019, I'm sure you could find someone starving in the Bay Area that could do their job at Split quite a bit better than the folks at the mission street location are doing theirs at the moment. I left my sandwich sitting on a counter in a to go box - for almost exactly 3 minutes and 40 seconds - and the staff "threw out" my food (though I'm pretty sure I could see one of them in a booth across the room eating it). Make a mistake, that's fine, but don't lie to your customer. I asked if there was anything they could do about it, and pretty much all of them just stared at me blankly. "No" was the resounding answer. Tell me Leslie, would you throw out somebody's 5 dollar bill if they left it on a counter, or would you hold it and wait for them to come back and pick it up? No? 3.5 stars! I stopped by here for a quick lunch with my friend - not too crowded during lunch time, and the line moves by pretty quickly. They have sandwiches, burgers, and salads as well as a few sides also. I went ahead and ordered the D'lux burger which included a grass-fed patty, avocados, carmelized onions, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and chipotle aioli to tie it all together. The combination was good, and the burger was just right. They didn't ask how I wanted my burger, but it came out to be juicy and not dry at all. I've gone to Split Bread a couple of times before. Their food is overpriced. Salads are mediocre, the avocado toast consists of one dried out piece of bread,a third of avocado, one poached egg, and 1 slice of bacon (one! Split in half. $2 extra,too). The toast is $12. Not worth it. With so much competition around the area I'd rather go to Proper Foods across the street and spend half as much on food that's twice as good. read more

If you order sides, and go to the pick up area, you need to inform the people behind the counter know that you are there. While I appreciate that they want to food to be as hot and fresh and possible, there were no instructions online or in the receipt I received directing me to do this, so I stood on waiting for 10 minutes, then finally inquired. 2. Options to customize orders are only limited to the items that are already associated with the item, meaning you can either double up on items, or remove them completely. You do not have the option to add items that are available in store, such as if you want tomatoes added to your caesar salad, no go. Chocolate chip cookie was very bland. This review is for the sandwich #91, which unless I'm mistaken is their only vegetarian sandwich. This sandwich isn't cheap at ~$11 but it's SO GOOD. The combination of the flavors from the basil, mint, and arugula pair perfectly with the sweetness of the tomato and fig and the creaminess from the cheese. The size of the tomato and fig pieces are massive, which does make this sandwich a little bit awkward to eat. The juices also soak into the bottom piece of bread so if you mind your sandwich getting soggy then this one might not be for you. If I'm ever in the mood for a heavy lunch I'll come back and try the fried chicken sammies. read more

I love the variety of fare here. There's unhealthy (but delicious) sandwiches and burgers, sandwiches on the lighter side, and some great options of salads. I had the Sonoma sandwich and my boyfriend had the Parm. Both were great!!! We also had the Split fries which were just ok. We were disappointed because they didn't have any of the drinks we were looking for... We saw Chardonnay on the menu but they said they were out. I enjoyed grabbing breakfast for the first time in months downtown here. It's also conveniently located since my dad works upstairs and is an incentive to eat there. Their bacon egg breakfast sandwich was really good and the staff was really friendly and joked with me. I would also like to add that they play great morning music, i don't think it was the radio but I could be wrong. I look forward to trying burgers or other menu items. The breakfast sandwich I ordered cost about 8-9 dollars, I don't know many places for good breakfast in the city but this should be one of them.
