I'm occasionally in downtown SF for work, so I'm on the lookout for good lunch spots. A coworker suggested Mixiote, which I was down to try. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl - the service was fast, the bowl looked great, the amount of chicken was generous, and the price was awesome. The free chips and salsa was a great bonus. This would be 5 stars if there was an option for chicken breast + an option for spicier. I'll probably be back - and I'll order with avocado next time!

This is the perfect spot for lunch! The Mixiote bowls are absolutely incredible, and I can't get enough of their beet quinoa salad--pair it with any of the chicken, pork, or rajas con queso for a winning combination. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant. The flavors are spot on, and their healthier options will leave you satisfied without that post-lunch slump.

got a bowl with half chicken / pork, half quinoa / veggie noodles. simple menu, small pristine store, serving health fresh ingredients. I appreciated being able to mix and match.

Office days and rain don't always mix. Sometimes you need a quick lunch option while trying to stay dry, and that's how I ended up trying Mixiote. The menu is pretty straight forward, bowls, salads, nachos with your choice of meat and toppings. As a lover of all things rice, of course I went the the bowl. I went with the chicken which is made with thigh meat and cooked in a sauce so it wasn't dry which is always a plus. I dunno if this was healthy or healthy adjacent but judging from all the veggies and bright colors, I'm just gonna tell myself it is. Either way, it was a big enough portion for a normal appetite. The bowl price starts at $13.50 and with guac and other additional premium toppings it came out to just over $17 before tip. The chips they gave with the order were fresh, crunchy and really tasty. They had an orange salsa that was habanero, good amount of spice but not too crazy. If you can't handle spice, this one will prolly be too hot. Solid option for a quick and tasty meal near salesforce tower area

This place is nothing like chipotle, I love everything that comes in the bowl! The staff are super friendly and you can ask for a sample! Highly recommend this place!

A new food counter, well hidden in the back corner of the Salesforce lobby. So hard to stumble on randomly and even a little hard to find if you are actually looking for it. A bit Chitpole-esqe in that you choose your protein and choose your carbs. But much tasiter than Chiptole! Pork & Chicken Rice Bowl: I actually asked for a half-n-half mix of pork and chicken so I could try them both. I really liked the smoky red pepper sauce on the chicken. The green pepper sauce on the pork seemed a little more subtle and also the amount of sauce seemed less too. But both meats came in a good portion. The only surprising thing is that neither meat seemed particularly slowed cooked. The meat on their website looks more stewed. But still very tasty. Especially with all those nice veggies on top of that turmeric rice.

Lovely food, healthy and tasty - and so accommodating for vegans. They switched out pesto with cheese for avocado, black beans and spicy habanero and gave me a discount for the avocado by not charging me for it. Chips free. And such kind service staff. Special shoutout to Arturo at the counter for remembering my vegan needs as a repeat customer. Thank you!

We decided to order à la carte so we could choose all of our favorites. Overall, everything was absolutely delicious, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The price is expensive though and the service was quite slow as the restaurant got very busy. My favorite dish was their signature Gran Bandeja Cebichera, a chilled seafood platter featuring ceviche, crab topped with purple sweet potato purée, charcoal-seared nigiri, sashimi, octopus, and jumbo prawns. Every bite was fresh and vibrant, and the variety of sauces created a wonderful balance of bright citrus, natural sweetness, and umami. It was layered, refreshing, and full of flavor. Among the hot dishes, I especially loved the whole charcoal-grilled cauliflower, served with eggplant purée, crispy garlic chips, and a sweet pepper sauce. It had a beautifully charred exterior while remaining tender inside, with an amazing smoky aroma. If you enjoy cocktails, their Pisco Sour is a must-try. As Peru's most iconic cocktail, it strikes a perfect balance between sweet and tart, making it crisp, and refreshing.

With no planning, we showed up at Pacifico, which was just a couple blocks from our concert. The restaurant was a little weird - it sits within the lobby of the SF Jazz recital hall, and all the signs are for "B-Side". It's a little unclear to me still whether the restaurant is called B-Side or Pacifico, but the waiter told us that Pacifico is new, with a new chef and new menu. The inspirations are Colombia, Peru, and California cooking, which was very appealing to us. We ordered two items off the specials menu (Tuna Tostada and Short Rib) and one from the permanent menu (Hearts of Palm Ceviche). The Tuna Tostada was both of our favorite. It was light, refreshing, and there were these little pops of flavor from burnt, deeply fried jalapeños. The Hearts of Palm ceviche was interesting and unique (a completely vegetarian dish, but made in the style of ceviche and with leche de tigre). Ultimately, it was more interesting than appetizing. Finally, the Short Rib was well cooked, but unfortunately just way too sweet for our palate.

We came in with no reservation and they first asked a table to move for us, but we insisted it was okay and they seated us at the bar area since it was pretty packed. The restaurant is located in the building, might be hard to miss. Food and drinks were good overall. Portions are on the smaller side so we weren't super full by the end of our meal, but the taste was delicious. Not too salty, fresh fish, unique drinks ... a lot of tang in their thang!
