The food was tasty, but the packaging was confusing. My container was labeled "vegan," even though I didn't order a vegan sandwich. I had to go back inside to ask if I had been given the wrong order. Fortunately, the employee opened the container and confirmed that it was my correct order. I told her my husband was going to be upset because he definitely didn't want a vegan sandwich! I usually visit the Eagle Rock location, but since I was in the area, I decided to give this location a try. The food itself was good, but they should be more careful with their labeling to avoid confusing customers. See my photos.

This place gave me similar vibes to Kebab Shop, although I'll admit Kebab Shop wins a point for the tortilla/wrap itself since theirs is softer and chewier. Here, the wrap was more toasted and a little harder, but still good. The food was delicious and fresh. The fries were super crispy and savory, especially with their orange sauce. I loved the mix of textures and flavors - crispy fries, crunchy fresh diced veggies, creamy sauce, and the acidity from the pickled toppings. That flavor profile is totally up my alley. The wrap also tasted very fresh, and the green sauce was delicious with a nice kick. The restaurant itself felt clean, and the girl at the register with the fun caterpillar earrings was super friendly and pleasant. They also have a cute little point system where you can win food prizes, which made it feel almost like a fun arcade touch. Plus, they serve beer and hard seltzers, have TVs, and even some board games. It kind of feels like a mini sports bar, but with fresher/healthier food than your typical bar food. Overall, great find. Definitely coming back!

Delicious food! I had the original gyro, falafel, and fried pita sticks omg. So good! The garlic sauce is really good same with the hummus. I did order my food to go, it was not that busy or crowded.. maybe they had a lot of Togo orders i don't know but it did take about 35 minutes for me to get my food. Felt like a long time.. Cute place, beers on tap, will definitely come back and eat there.

Was soooo excited to hear Spitz was opening up a location here! I first tried Spitz at their Studio City location back when I frequented Universal Studios often. I LOVED that place. Their street cart fries and street cart doner wrap were so good. 10 years later, here I am having Spitz again at their Placentia location. This location has the same funky, eclectic vibes. Board games are available for use by patrons. Everyone was friendly. Food was as good as I remember it, though I will say, the street cart doner wrap seemed like it was lacking in sauce and was a bit dry... might have to purchase extra sauce on the side, unfortunately. I do recommend getting the street cart fries, you won't regret it. I stuck with original potato fries and added protein (beef/lamb) on top, but they do offer sweet potato fries to as a substitute. Prices are reasonable. My only complaint here is the wait time. It seems like it's intended to be a fast casual restaurant, and you pay at the register first then wait at a table of your choice for your food to be brought out. However, we waited a good 20-25 minutes for our to-go order to come out. It was a Friday night around 7pm and the place was about half empty, at first. By the time we left, there was a decent wait at the register but no one staffing the register as they seemed busy with the back kitchen or delivering food to the waiting tables. Maybe avoid peak days and times if you don't have ample time to spare!

Seriously, why this place is empty when I came??? The place is giving hip Mediterranean restaurant, the service is best, fast and friendly. The food??! Oh wow! Hubby said 5star, price wise it really does quite expensive but! The flap or says it all, fresh and yummy! It has good vegetarian option, and dine in or to go, I prefer dine in! I love the restaurant cleanliness, teh bomb falafel and delicious fries!!!

Fun, colorful, casual space. 80's new wave music playing. Short wine and beer list. Fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. Very attentive service. My neighborhood has so many new Mediterranean restaurants. This one is good, not great.

This place is amazing!!! I went 3 times while visiting family at the local hospital and everytime the food, the service and the music was amazing!!!! I asked the owner the first time what was his favorite and I ended up getting it all 3 times. My aunts also got the same thing each time: the wings, the sweet potato fries, the Greek salad, the cucumber limeade and the cinnamon sugar pita strips. You will leave stuffed and sooo satisfied! I wish there was one closer to me cause I would become a regular! I can't believe I didn't take more pictures. Maybe I'll HAVE to go back, lol.

I found this place while driving by and the name really caught my attention. Since I'm familiar with Mediterranean food, I loved the idea of "street food" style. I decided to try the Chicken Mediterranean Wrap, and it was absolutely delicious--the taste was spot on, everything was perfectly seasoned, and all the garnishes were just right. What stood out the most for me were the fried garbanzo beans--such a unique and tasty addition! The ambience was also really cool, very different from other Mediterranean restaurants I've been to, and it made the whole experience even better. On top of that, the service was great. I'll definitely be coming back anytime I'm nearby!

Not going to lie, I was a little skeptical at first, but the moment I stepped inside the restaurant, that changed. Jenna, waitress, brought such great energy and genuine enthusiasm that it made the whole experience even more meaningful. As far as Mediterranean food goes, the quality for the price absolutely blows Cava out of the water. The flavors were incredible, the food was fresh, and every bite exceeded expectations. I'll definitely be coming back--not just because of the food, but because of the friendly, fast, and welcoming environment. The food was truly the chef's kiss. I'd give this a strong 5-star review tone. It highlights both the service and the food, which usually matters more to restaurants than just saying "it was good."

The server tossed my plate of food on the table, but was very polite to the person eating next to me. I didn't finish my meal and left, never to return. Who do you think you are? Treating customers this way... You will have your humble pie soon enough

Staff member Manny recommended this dish to me. Oh my Lord,…read moredid the food taste WONDERFUL! He was RIGHT! The mahi mahi had a really nice flavor to it, but WASN'T fishy. The salad & especially the dressing was wonderful! The rice had a great flavor unlike any rice I've had at any other place. The tzaziki sauce with my plate was SO smooth, creamy, and not overbearing, so it made a nice little dip for the fish. (AND the cucumbers in the salad. AND the tomatoes in the salad!) My veggies were grilled and tasted VERY good. My friend ordered an app of French fries, and they were EXCELLENT! Tasty, crispy, not chewy at ALL. Bite into one, "CRUNCH!" and you have what they feel like. Dip 'em in ketchup, or tzaziki, or GARLIC SAUCE, or not at all! I ate a lot of them. I also tried my friend's garlic sauce. I am SO going to have to order some of that to go because it can go with ANYTHING! Pita brea, fish, French fries, wraps (yum!), chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, lamb, it's too creamy and yummy! Not too garlic-y either! I took her little container home and I'm ashamed to say I got the last little bit of it with my fingers. It'd make a REALLY nice dip for raw veggies as well. I WILL be back with some friends and a family member or two.

After a bit of time, we ordered with a server that was very friendly. Our hummus trio came out first after our drinks and it was pretty good. Best out of the trio has to be the red pepper hummus for sure. We also ordered a side of cucumbers to eat with the hummus which was good too. I will say the lemonade and the arnold palmer was quite subpar because I was expecting nice freshly squeezed lemonade flavor, but it didn't really taste what I was expecting. Our mains came out after a bit and we each got a plate with different meat selections. One with chicken, beef, and lamb. They were all pretty good and I really enjoyed the roasted veggies paired with the meat and the basmati rice. One plate was a huge portion that I could probably get another meat out of it. My friend and I had lunch on the patio and waited a solid 30 minutes just to get water. The service was painfully slow and careless; tables around us were left uncleaned, and when our food arrived, we had no utensils. After asking the food runner and waiting around while our meals got cold, my friend finally had to get up and track down silverware herself. When the waiter finally acknowledged us, he literally threw the utensils onto the table. Then, when we asked for extra napkins, he actually put his hand up to block us and just walked away. I was so shocked by the blatant rudeness that I called for the manager. While the manager apologized and gave us a free dessert, a sweet treat doesn't fix a total lack of professionalism. If employees hate being there that much, they shouldn't be working in hospitality! Management is also to blame by keeping them employed. When reading some of the other reviews, seems like service is really lacking here and the waiters have major attitude problems. The food is always great, but this type of behavior and level of disrespect makes me never want to come back. I will take my money elsewhere.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you like Greek food but don't want…read moreto pay big bucks at an traditional sit-down restaurant, Apola can be your yummy, budget-friendly alternative. The Food: Let me start by saying this is clearly an American take on Greek food, so if you're looking for super authentic food, look elsewhere. But if you're OK with a fusion, Apola will satisfy your Mediterranean craving. There are gyros (pita wraps), bowls, combo plates, and burritos (see, there's that American take I was talking about). All of them range in quality from average to really good. Though I've been here several times, I'll focus on my last visit when we got "the Works" pita wrap and a Greek salad bowl. For the Works, it comes with all the fixings, your choice of protein, and fries stuffed inside (yes, inside, not as a side). I chose beef-and-lamb gyro meat, which came in a huge portion. (Pro Tip: I pulled the fries out and got a "free" side. Of course , there's not a lot of fries, but enough to satisfy my fried food craving.) The gyro was big and tasty. For the Greek salad bowl, we also got beef-and-lamb gyro meat. Once again, they hooked it up with the quantity. Nice! The ingredients (tomatoes, cucumber, feta, etc) were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Side note: I do find it odd that they call this dish a salad bowl when it comes in a rectangular plastic tray. But semantics aside, it was quite good. I also ordered a fountain drink and got a Coke. It was nice a crisp with a lot of carbonation. Just the way I like it. It's not as good as the exclusive Coke blend at McDonald's, but was a close second. I have had some pretty watered down Cokes at other places in recent years. The Service: There were two young gentlemen working the last time I visited, and they were both friendly and knowledgeable. They even brought our meals to our table, which was a nice touch for a fast food establishment. The Setting: It's located inside the recently revamped Yorba Linda Downtown, which has revitalized the area and made it a pleasant place to hang out. Unfortunately, on weekends, it's hard to find parking sometimes. Fortunately we came on a weekday and got parking nearby. Inside, Apola is clean and tidy with roughly enough tables and chairs for a variety of party sizes. The Conclusion: Apola offers good Mediterranean-inspired food for a reasonable price (compared to other restaurants these days) -- just don't expect it to be 100% authentic Greek food. It's not perfect and not super cheap, but with the right expectations set, I plan to return on semi-regular basis.
