Had never been to this pizzeria. It was 1am, we were on mill, and pizza sounded really good. We walked in and quickly one of the servers told us to pick a table. We decided to sit towards the back by the elevator. The server was very friendly from the start even though it was so chaotic inside. He gave us menus and our waters. We all decided we wanted just a slice of pepperoni pizza and an order of buffalo wings. Didn't take too long for our food to come out. Our wings came out first and they were surprisingly really good. They were crispy and the perfect kick. The pizza slices came out right after and omggg they are unbelievably huge!!!! They are thin though so I was able to finish my slice. At 420 Mill Ave lies the unofficial pizza joint of young adults who pay $30 for a gram. It is overpriced for what you get, and everything about the way this place runs is wrong. I mean, just think about how a by-the-slice place is *supposed* to work. There are only three tables of people and coincidentally, three staff members present. I finally got my slice and it was underwhelming although not horrific. The crust is incredibly bland, as though it were made with no salt and the most refined flour possible. The pizza itself was passable, but the size of the slices need to stop getting hyped. Yes, the pies themselves are 18" but you would think by the density of them this was meant to be much smaller and simply had the dough rolled out at thinly as possible. The atmosphere and location give this place the 2 stars. That part is great. Unfortunately the pizza is really underwhelming. Kind of blah flavor and frankly, overpriced. Traveling on business, I entered into this place which features $8.50 mediocre slices of NY Style pizza. How they managed to make it greasy without providing enough cheese is a mystery. Furthermore, the service was atrocious. On a Monday night when there was practically nobody else in the place, the waitress made another patron and I move from the bar while we waited for our pizza. She took seats from actual customers to save the seats for their non-existent customers who never arrived and who would have had their pick of every table in the place except one. Spinelli's has everything going for it but it's food. Tempe loves a good pizza & there are plenty of places to get your fix. So I am always on the lookout for a place I have yet to try. Staff were kind enough and the location is ideal for easy access near campus, but nothing will make up for crime of making a flavorless pizza. From the dough to the sauce and cheese- bland, no flavor. We would have thought it was a fluke but we ordered two different pizzas and second was equally lacking. Unfortunately their struggles with making sad food wasn't limited to just their pizza, because their wings were a miss too. Spinelli's wings are available in two order sizes and they offer order options with bone in or boneless (we went with bone in and the "order size of 10.") The wings served had no "crisp" to the skin or any crunchy bits on the edges which wings typically have when you bite into them. Spinelli's prepares wings in a way that made them rubbery- another culinary crime against humanity. Lastly paying top dollar for great food is a fair ask of customers. But Spinelli's wanted $70+ for a large cheese, small pepperoni and 10 wings and two sodas. If Spinelli's was to serve time for serving bad food for top dollar then, they would be doing 70+ charging customers for flavorless, rubbery eats. read more

Let's start with the good: The pizza was yummy. Large slices, thin crust, tasty sauce. We were a large party and the bartender worked with us to grab a spot that accommodated all of us. Bad: Horrible service! Our party waited close to 10 mins just for waters and we were one of three tables there when we first arrived. As the place got busier, it just went downhill. Fun place to grab a bite with TV ' S and music blaring thru the restaurant. The decor is skateboard and fun. Shared a slice of Sicilian Pizza and Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie with deep fried mac and cheese along with deep fried oreos. I thought the Sicilian Pizza came with toppings but I guess I should have asked. The Philly Cheesesteak was good and hot with plenty of meat. Probably the best thing was the mac and cheese bites and the deep fried oreos.the drinks were in red plastic cups and the food was in paper lined plastic baskets. The place was cool. It had a funky smell when we walked in and there really wasn't any social distancing enforced. The food didn't look that appetizing for a chicken parm sandwich. It's about time I've written a review for this place. I'm here specifically to talk about the pizza. This is probably a strong opinion, and one that might be heavily debatable amongst certain groups of people, but I'm of the belief that this is probably the best cheese slice in all of Arizona. Not counting Bianco/new American style pizza that exists in Arizona, and my experience is limited to the past three years I've been living in Brooklyn, and all of my whole life eating pizza. This place has the real stuff. Since I've come back from Brooklyn in November, I've been searching for a spot that actually has a cheese slice that tastes correct and I think I've finally found the only place that gets even close to New York flavors that's something like Joe's pizza has. I'm sure there's a secret to how you guys can produce a cheese slice like that, whether it's the oregano or parmesan in the sauce- I'm not sure what it is, but this is the only thing that comes close to an actual pizza slice in my opinion. You guys rock. I've felt this way since I tried this place for the first time 7 years ago. This post was inspired from a COLD cheese slice they were selling at the end of the night. Terrible pizza and the service was slow and the tables were dirty I will never return

Their pizza is good, its probably the only pizza i could eat every single day. There has been a few times i would get old pizza which tasted terrible and i could hardly eat it. But if you do by chance get to eat their pizza when its fresh its great! Its around $6 a slice, the slices are big but any extra topping besides cheese adds up quickly and it starts to become expensive. For fries, 2 slices and 2 drinks cost me almost $30. For that price and the service its a downer but the craving is what has brought me back as many times as it has. You pay for ranch if you want it. But dont think your gonna get a full little cup of ranch, they hardly fill it half full. I love their ranch which is the only reason ill spend the money to get it. If your in a hurry i advise you to seek getting lunch/dinner elsewhere. They told me about 15min for my order of 2 slices. Turns out AN HOUR AND ABOUT 20min for 2 SLICES and this is supposed to be a pick up order and there was NOBODY in the resturant. Service is terrible. I dread trying to get a refill because they take your cup and never return or you have to ask someone else where it went. This has happened everytime ive went. They seem to do everything extremely slow and dont really care. Dont expect compensation of any kind if your order is wrong or thats if you ever get your order by the day you order it. 3.5 stars. We arrived at 10 pm into Phoenix then by the time we got our car checked into our hotel in Tempe it's well pass 11 pm. Not much was open for food service because most places are bar setting. Anyway, Spinelli's gives huge slices of pizza and between my husband, Son and I we all ordered something different to appease us all. I had the chicken and waffles pizza which I thought was so good. Especially with a little maple syrup on it. Sweet and savory at the same time. My husband had the meat lovers and my son had the barbecue chix pizza. We thought it hit the spot and noticed two separate group of girls about 5-6 on each table that came in too and shared a pizza. This must be the spot to come. The front desk at our hotel mentioned a different pizza spot but it was playing really loud music which this place was mixed, restaurant/ bar. The first time I've ordered here was a night I went out at mill Ave it was around midnight and I was really hungry. Security was a d*ck and he was letting every white person go in but me and my group of friends. We decided to wait until security would let us in because we were drunk and really hungry so we didn't want to go look for another place to go eat. Finally, the security guy lets me in but doesn't let my friends go in... so I decided to go in and order in advance for all of my friends and myself. Of course, it takes more than 20 minutes for someone to pay attention to me and get my order, once my order is placed it takes an hour to get our food out and it wasn't even right (other than the worst customer service I've experienced the food is amazing. I'm not going to take props out of that). The second time I've been here was because I was craving a pizza and I was nearby so I decided to place my order thru Uber Eats because my credit card gives me $15.00 each month so I placed my order and of course, I checked if they were open and it said they were. I get to the place and there's a guy at the bar so he signals me with his thumb moving sideways to his neck saying it's not open so I show my phone and my order thru the window and dude completely ignores me. I called them like 3 times and no one ever answered. I called them again twice and their open and no one answered again. I'm just trying to get my money back because I never got my order. This is a preliminary review of Spinelli's Pizzeria in that it only involves their delivery service and items ordered online for delivery to the house. To be fair, this restaurant will be reviewed again in person at a future time and the rating may change at that time. One of the things that attracted me to this restaurant is that they will deliver until the wee hours of the morning. They don't shut down until 5 a.m. The best cheesesteaks I have eaten are in Philly, so I ordered a Cheesesteak Stromboli for myself and a regular Cheesesteak Sandwich for companion. The cheesesteak sandwich is served on a roll imported from Philly, and can be had with a choice of 3 different cheeses. Veggies are optional but not charged for. The Stromboli reminds me of a calzone in that the fillings are inside of a stretched piece of pizza dough. Again, veggies are optional but available at no additional charge. At $10.50 for a normal Stromboli and $19.50 for a large, the prices seemed a bit steep, but a good sandwich or Stromboli can be worth the money. I ordered our sandwiches, keeping in mind that the restaurant posts that delivery takes between 45 minutes and an hour. Two hours later our food had not yet arrived. I called the restaurant to inquire about our order and they said it would be ready to sent to us in about thirty minutes. Almost three hours went by before our order came. Not exactly one hour service, and the food was lukewarm. Putting it in the oven for about 15 minutes helped immeasurably with the flavor. The sandwiches were of fair size and quality, but in my opinion nothing special. Perhaps eating in the restaurant will reveal a different experience. I must admit I was not very impressed by the service or the quality of the sandwiches. I can't remember ever having take out take three hours to arrive. We felt that $33.83 for 2 sandwiches delivered to the house was a bit steep. 2 Stars for delivering until 5 a.m. read more
