This place rocks! Last year I entered their Instagram giveaway and won! Anna the owner text me with details, but sadly with moving across town I was unable to redeem it. This week I was booked for an event at Harkins and Slices came to mind. I asked Anna if it was too late for me to redeem my pie. She got me connected to her employees who made me the perfect vegan pie before the event. I called in and spoke to Roberto and Alex. They were friendly, helpful, and answered my questions about vegan options. By the way, I am blown away by their vegan options!! We settled on a vegan spinach artichoke with no olives. When we picked it up Roberto and Alex greeted us. It was pretty busy in the lobby but they had it handled. I worked in the food industry for many years and I was impressed at what they were doing. And they did it with a smile! It's a small place but they are efficient with keeping the line going. We got our pie. Wow. The flavor was great. They did not short us on toppings. AND THE CRUST! You know it's a great pizza when the crust has you wanting more. My only regrets? I have 2. 1- I didn't come here sooner 2- I should've gotten dessert Come to slices. I've been going to Slices for years, and it's absolutely phenomenal every time! I love that you can order pizza by the slice, so you're not stuck committing to one type. It makes it easy to mix and match and try different options. I went to New York last year and was just telling my friend that even people from New York would probably appreciate the pizza here. It really holds up! The quality is consistently great, and it always hits the spot. It's a cute little place with high chairs, and the service is always polite and efficient. You choose your slice through the glass display, and they heat it up fresh for you. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick bite and one of my favorite go to pizza places. read more

It is such a shame. The food is insanely good, the pizzas are delicious, the place is clean and everything is a fitting ambiance. However the service is so shit I can't help but never want to be here. The workers all act like talking to you is the biggest mistake they've made. They all looked annoyed anytime you want to buy something. They get mad when you don't talk loud enough but mumble the entire time. I didn't tip due to a gentleman's snarky comments made about me to his coworker as I was right in front of them. He then glared at me and acted like I told him to fuck himself. I'm amazed I didn't. Slices used to be present on my college campus (Grand Canyon University) and while it was below average there, my friend and I decided to stop in after shopping, just for nostalgia purposes. The inside was PACKED (it's not a very big establishment to begin with) but it was decorated very cute and the menu was large and easy to read. They have tons of combos and pizza toppings, it can be overwhelming. It is very small, they have more "bar" style seating facing the windows and the walls and only one high table in the center, so don't expect to be eating inside with a large party. Of course there's plenty of seating outside. When you get up to the counter, the people shout to you "what can I get for you?" And you have to awkwardly shout back over the massive case of pizzas and desserts that's probably 6 feet tall. They ring you up and then you'll wait maybe 10 minutes for your order to be ready. My pizza slices were PIPING hot, and the dough was SUPER thin. My veggie slice was floppy. But it still had amazing flavor. The potato bacon kind of disappointed me, it felt like there was no sauce on there but I don't know what I was expecting. It certainly wouldn't pair well with classic marinara, so maybe the no sauce was a smart move on their part. My two slices and 20oz drink came to about $11. Filled me up! I couldn't finish it all. They were out of ice, which was disappointing. Overall I might return if I'm ever shopping there again, and in the mood for pizza! read more

Wow do I love this place! We were in Tempe with our dogs and wanted to grab a "slice"! Slices does not disappoint. Went inside to find this unbelievable menu of all different slices! They even have a good selection of vegan slices! On any given day it looks like they do slice deals- coke and a slice, 2 slices and a coke etc. Pick a slice or your deal and wait for them to call your name! Service here is pretty great too. If you aren't sure just ask the person at the register when you are ordering and they will help! We got the 2 slice deal and sat outside with our dogs to eat. Situated near the Harkins theatre within Tempe Marketplace you will find a pizza establishment called Slices. Though I've been numerous times to this outdoor shopping mall, I have not stopped in to this location. A friend suggested for a cheap slice meal for under $10 ($8.99 for the mix & match specials). I was skeptical as how can you get a slice, salad, and drink for under $10?! I'm thrilled to report it did live up to the hype! Heck, there was not just a few vegetarian options but they even had a few vegan slice options. The side salad left a lot to be desired based on my preferences on a salad. It contain spring mix, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. I wish it had croutons and romaine, but I'll consider that next visit if I return to the area. Cheese pizza is always a go to for me, and how I rate slices versus other pizza chains. Their cheese pizza slice was nice and floppy for folding - New York style is my pizza preference. Definitely loved the slice and could see myself making through the vegetarian slice thoughts, and also inquiring about the vegan ones as my peanut/treenut allergy can limit me. The interior is pretty small, so it can be hard to locate a spot to eat especially if you are with friends like I was. We did locate some seating outside which was enjoyable given the time of year. I would definitely factor seasonality as this may not be a place I would want to visit in the summer if indoor seating wasn't available. This is hands-down the best pizza in Arizona. Truly crispy thin crust, great sauce cheese and other toppings. And not ridiculously expensive either. As a NYC pizza snob who moved to AZ 10 years ago, I have tried them all and this is #1 with a bullet! Ironically, this small chain originated in Boston and it is infinitely better than all the overpriced pizza places from Chicago. This was my first time eating at Slices and wow was it delicious. They have the most pizza variety I've come across. I ordered a meat lovers and on half I subbed ricotta for pepperoni and the amount of ingredients was great. Usually a lot of pizza places leave me disappointed in the amount of ricotta and Slices did not disappoint! Normally, I find it risky to put meatball on a pizza, as a lot of pizza places meatballs are not good, but Slices meatball toppings have a good flavor. The ham also was delicious that they use for topping. As for price, it may be a bit overpriced, but so are a lot of pizza places for multi-ingredient pizzas. When you're out and about near Tempe Marketplace and you're with 3 people,the 16" pizza split is a better deal than anywhere else you can dine in that mall area. We try different topping combos but i have to say you can't go wrong with the buffalo chicken Chicago style, the ricotta tomato, the classic pepperoni, and the pepperoni pineapple - before you say anything YES pineapple belongs on pizza! The wife and I were walking by to go to a different restaurant, saw a picture of a big slice of pizza and both agreed that it looked and sounded good. Very reasonably priced. Wife got the two pieces of garlic cheese bread and a slice of supreme pizza and a drink. She said it tasted very good. Said that it tasted like what she thinks New York pizza tastes like, as she's never been. I got the Margherita slice and meat lovers slice with a drink. Very happy to offer a review of Slices. Due to my proximity, I've visited pretty much every eating establishment at the Marketplace and this is my favorite in two categories: excellent customer service and great value. The pizza and garlic twists are very good (I haven't ventured out to try too many varieties of pizza but there are always a dozen or so to choose from). But I think if you frequent a slice shop, as I did for years in NYC, you realize your primary goals are efficiency and value, not necessarily the most incredible pizza you've had in your lifetime. Don't mistake this though, the pizza is very good quality, but the 5-star nature of this review is really for the aforementioned service and value. Equally impressive to me is that I've been helped by a few different employees, and all of them, including the young man tonight, have been courteous, attentive and handled my orders perfectly. It's easy to tip in locations like this where service still matters. As of this writing, I believe they have a special for two slices and a drink around $8, which with inflation today, is a real bargain. That's more than I would eat at a normal meal. I've had the supreme, various pepperoni versions and the meat lovers and enjoyed them all. The garlic twists and marinara dipping sauce are a very nice and inexpensive add-on. If you're looking for a quick bite at Tempe Marketplace, I do recommend you drop in and give this establishment a try. It's pretty small inside but there is plenty of outdoor seating around the District area of the Marketplace. The pistachio has lots of pistachio flavor and almost savory, not too sweet, which I didn't mind because I dont like really sweet desserts. The vanilla is strong vanilla bean flavor. Gelato is supposed to be ultra smooth and dense in flavor and consistency and very creamy. This was more of an ice cream. Still for $2.99 per serving it was a decent, if forgettable, dessert. It is located in the main food court area where there are several eateries. It's a very small dining area, but does offer some outside seating. I order a few slices to go, from a lady that was friendly and patient while I decided what I wanted. Normally taking home slices, they will not travel well, so I can't hold that against them. I was totally craving some pizza so dinner was an easy choice. I remember going to the Mill location as a college student and had never been to this one at Tempe Marketplace. Also I remembered their delectable cauliflower crust pizza from the wonderful YES event in January and knew I had to get it again. Usually, you choose your slice and they pop it in the oven, quick and easy. Since I ordered their special crust pizza, it took about 10 minutes because they had to make the dough. It was worth it though. I got their 2-topping 10in with jalapeños and black olives. It was served in a box with plentiful toppings and that cheese was so stretchy and wonderful, noms. I originally gave them one star because the pizza I ordered never showed up and I was hungry and it was National Pepperoni Pizza Day! I am changing my rating to 4 stars based on the service and follow-up from the owner and when I was able to taste their pizza... it was very good. It turns out the blame and low review should belong to DoorDash. The drive marked the order as delivered when, in actuality, it was NOT delivered (the Driver ate my pizza! ) The owner followed-up with me, got my order refunded and gave me a free pizza which I ate a few days after the incident. Love the fact that they offer slices at a reasonable price and have an average of 10 pizzas from which to choose. They even had a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza already made! The crust is thin. They are good about putting toppings on and are not stingy (lots of pepperoni slices versus only 3 to 4). I was looking for delivery from a pizza place we hadn't tried before. It's always a risk but it definitely paid off tonight! We ordered the Supreme and Smoked Mushroom. The Supreme was a delicious mixture of meat and vegetables but I personally loved it because it had red and green bell peppers and no olives. It was great. The smoked mushroom pizza - all I can say is O M G I rarely eat pizza without meat but I wanted to order this as is to try it. The smell alone was incredible. That smoky, deep aroma from the shrooms was mouth watering and the taste was equally amazing. I mean, truly delicious and unique. That pizza will go in the regular rotation. The ooonly thing was I felt like both pizzas could have been cooked a bit longer. The crust was pretty light and the overall flavor would have been enhanced by a darker crust. I'd love the option to have smaller pizzas (only a choice between 16 and 20 inch in the delivery app} because 2 16 inch pizzas are really too much for us...
