Florencia Pizza Bistro is our favorite pizza spot in the East Valley (albeit, it's in the Ahwatukee Foothills). We've been several times, both dining in and doing takeout, and it's always consistently good. The service is great, the pizza is all handmade with a thin crust (not Neapolitan-thin), a flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of toppings. The salads are always fresh and easy to share. They have a well-appointed dining room along with outdoor seating. It does get crowded due to its popularity, so reservations are a good idea. Highly recommend. read more

This is a small pizza and bar located in Ahwatukee, AZ. Upon entering, you are hit with the unmistakable odor of PIZZA!! The ambience in cozy, warm and friendly. The staff are very attentive and seem to love their jobs. We had a party of 5 and were seated promptly. We ordered an XL Gladiator (Pepperoni, chicken, canadian bacon, sausage, fresh mozzarella) pizza, a small Margherita pizza and a custom Calzone (Sausage, pepperoni & mushroom). Service was quick and the food arrived in decent time. The chicken on the XL pizza was panned by everyone. It was obviously cooked and seasoned for a separate dish, but cut up and put on the pizza. It tasted good, but it just didn't taste right on the pizza. The other universal complaint was that the XL pizza was not very warm. Personally, I thought that the pizza sauce was too sweet and the sausage and pepperoni both lacked any flavor. I felt that the pizza and calzone were rather bland. Overall, this place is worth a try. Although I felt the pizza was bland (I'm originally from the Chicago area, the pizza Capital of the world), everyone else thought it was good. My experience here was unique. I went to a friend's house and she ordered food from here. She got a margherita pizza, mozzarella sticks, a salad and a sandwich. I tried everything but the sandwich and boy, it was good!!! I am a NY pizza gal and the crust was thin and the pizza was flavorful. The salad was delicious, lots of toppings like cucumbers and carrots. I couldn't resist the mozzarella sticks! Yummy with marinara sauce. A wonderful surprise since I don't live in that area. I had mixed reviews for the pizzas we got to go. I requested the pizzas around 6:30, said it would be ready in 30 minutes. The place seemed lively with most tables occupied.I got there 7:15 and the pizzas were cold. I tried to warm them up a bit in the oven. The margherita pizza was pretty good, sauce was good, only small blobs of fresh mozzarella scattered on the pie-wish it had more. The crust ends were tasty, although the slices were soggy. The white pizza was liked better, although a little bland. Not sure we will be trying to get pizza here again. read more

I have been to Florencia Pizza Bistro twice with one of my closest friends, who lives in the Ahwatukee area. Both times have been great experiences for both of us. The first time, I got a custom pizza with pepperoni, sausage, red peppers, black olives, and garlic. It was some of the best pizza I have ever had. Another thing I like about their topping is that they offer red bell peppers. When it comes to bell peppers, I prefer red bell peppers over green ones. When my friend and I were done with our pizzas, we had the cookie monster dessert, and it was delicious. I would gladly order it again next time I visit. On this most recent visit, I got the same pizza, except I replaced the black olives with mushrooms, and it was still an excellent pizza. Both times my friend and I have visited, the service has been friendly, with our servers being friendly and helpful, while explaining everything clearly and offering suggestions. I like the atmosphere as well. The lights are not too bright, and it makes for a nice, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your food. Florencia Pizza Bistro is the best pizza in Ahwatukee, in my opinion. If anyone is looking for a great pizza place in the Ahwatukee area, Florencia Pizza Bistro is an excellent choice. read more

Recently back from traveling and sampling pizza elsewhere (east coast, west coast, north, south) and Florencia holds up to every great pizza place I know. Their dough/crust is a key ingredient (so is water, so I'm curious how they pull off their delicious crust). Their cheese has actual flavor (unlike 90% of most pizza places). And last but not least, their sauce is legit (no "ketchup" pizza sauce here). Plus they have some original and signature pies like the Trout, The Shank, Clark's Classic (pepperoni and buffalo chicken) or the Flaumbay. They also always have incredibly fresh toppings, which made me try their salads (or, "pizza tax" as I call them) and after dozens of samples, over many years, somehow their salads are the freshest you'll find, year-round, valley-wide. There are a few nationally ranked pizza places in Phoenix, and one or two of them are pretty great...but...you can wait in those lines for a seat and hope you get their top quality pie. Me? I'll be ordering from Florencia, first and always. Florencia is my top 3 best pizzas this side of the Mississippi, and top 5 nation-wide. PS I don't visit there as much as I order but every time I've been there, it's always a great family vibe. read more

I have seen this place and wanted to try it. I met my daughter and boyfriend here for dinner on a Tuesday night. I was happily surprised about how busy it was. When a place is busy, the food must be great. The ambience is very casual, lots of seating. nice lighting not too bright. Once we got inside, we were seated right away. Our server took our drink order and we decided to try the Bruschetta. The bruschetta came out rather fast and it was good. I was a little disappointed in the lack of basil but overall I had a great taste; the bread was nice and cheesy. We ordered two pizzas. One was their version of a combination and we added meatballs. The second pizza we did half artichoke and half pesto. The pizzas came out in a reasonable amount of time. The crust was amazing nice and crispy, not doughy. Florencia feels like home to me. They are my #1 pizza spot in Arizona (and we have great pizza here!). The margarita pizza is my ultimate fav. An amazing pizza starts with the crust, and Florencia has the best crust- the sides bubble and get the smallest char in the oven. The sauce balances acidity and sweetness of the tomatoes perfectly. The mozzarella is fresh and gooey, and the thinly sliced garlic on top really puts this pizza over the edge. One tip- if you're ordering a pizza with a lot of watery toppings (spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.) order your pizza well-done so it stays crisp! We love to start with the Caprista Salad. It's a classic caprese with their Mista salad on top. This is one of my favorite salads in the valley- I crave the balsamic dressing and keep a little to dip my pizza crust in! Our kids love the meatballs- they are smaller so order a bunch! And get the pizzetta- basically their take on a cheese garlic bread/pizza crust. The service is always great- very small business, family feel. You're always welcomed with a smile and it's just so homey! read more

Visited here on Monday 12/8. We are from NJ and were craving good pizza. Florencia did not disappoint. Sausage, peppers and onion pizza was delish. Also the other half was pepperoni. Also yummy and not greasy. Crust was delicious. I never eat all my crust and I ate it all! Bar has a nice selection of beer and wine. Plenty of parking. Wait staff was very attentive. We sat at the bar however the dining room was really nice and comfortable, big tables and comfy chairs. Not a typical pizzeria. I would definitely keep this on my list every time we visit. read more

Florencia is a great local pizza find by one of my close friends who encouraged me to start eating around Tukee once my offer on a house nearby was accepted. This is a little off the beaten path but that makes it a fun find! It's also conveniently close to a Fry's Food and gas station. It was a fairly busy Saturday night but not enough for us to have to wait for a table. Our server was so kind! She helped us with a couple of her pizza recommendations since we couldn't decide. We started with the Zesty Meatballs (3-pack) and Antipasto, together could be a small lunch for one. The highlight was definitely the Combination Pizza we shared. We're both thin-crust enthusiasts and it hit the spot. It also was cooked enough-- I like a little brown/black to endure well-done-ness. I came here tonight as I was in the mood for pizza. Sat at the bar, and service was prompt and friendly. Lots of carry out orders came thru and were picked up at the bar. Bar was filled with people and an interesting group of people. Met a guy who talked about his kidney transplant and had IgA nephropathy. I don't think I've ever met a person with this issue, only read it in books. The couple sitting next to me are super cool, both were swim coaches and had traveled the world. We got to talking about Turkey and learned a lot. Cool, I hope to meet them again here. I got a small combo pizza and a diet coke. Small combo pizza was solid, the crust wasn't thin and came on a plate, so a little disappointing as I was hoping it would be on a pizza pan. Presentation is everything. I polished off two slices and took the other two home. Waitress was very nice and even brought me a small pizza box, which for some reason delighted me. This is a locally owned restaurant and the couple I was sitting next to told me the owner is second generation Ukrainian from LA. Cool to know this place isn't corporate. I like supporting local. I really like dining "in", but take out is not great. They don't update your order if you do online so you make have a window of 30-1hr time and then it's just ready. That's a big difference. Dining in is good except they tend to mess up my order due to special requests like "no onions" . Ordered the spinaci which was pretty good- toppings were fresh and the melanzane (fried egg plant, chicken, feta, tomatoes) which was kinda gross to be brutally honest. The fried egg plant was soggy and the pizza lacked flavor. My husband thought I ordered "healthy" pizza because it barely had cheese.
