I'm trying to understand why my experience is so different from these 5 star reviews…read more. After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

We've been happy customers of Stride since June 2018 and can safely say that Stride is a top pest…read morecontrol service in the Austin area. Our favorite part is you can shoot them a quick text with a picture of the problem, and they'll schedule an appointment, all over text! We pay for the regular treatments, but if critters start popping up between the service, they'll come out and re-treat (usually for free) - we cannot recommend Stride enough, if you're on the fence and reading this right now, you won't make the wrong decision to go with Stride. All of the technicians have been stellar, but specifically I wanted to mention Burton - he has come to our house on multiple occasions and is always very polite, informative and thorough. Burton always goes the extra mile to check everything out around the house before he leaves, beyond the areas we've mentioned, and always chats with me on his way out to let me know what was applied, how it was applied, and any follow up steps (an engineer's dream). He even mentioned we should shoot him/Stride a text in 1-2 weeks to let him know if our attic ant issue is resolved. Thank you Burton! Stride really cares about their customers, and they do a killer job. There's a reason they are rated 5.0 stars on Google, Yelp & Facebook, and not 4.9 or lower.

Well, it's been one year later. The good news is that the carpenter ants are gone, although they…read moredid briefly come back between treatments, but they have not made a reappearance since. I do not see any more termite activity either. So the big question is, was it worth the cost? Well that depends on your finances and whether you can spare the $53+ monthly charge for 4 annual visits. We decided to cancel after a year to cut back on some expenses. And as I mentioned in the previous review, you'll get a text, which gives you the opportunity to also leave review and a tip. Overall, the service did what it was supposed to. They can also come out to do a single treatment which we will keep in mind.

On 7/27, I called to cancel my service and was told someone from the cancellation department would call me back to process the cancellation. No one ever called. On 7/28, my account was still charged. By 7/30, after still not receiving a callback, I called again. The representative I spoke with told me my account was closed and that nothing further was owed. She then transferred me to Leticia in the cancellation department, who gave me completely different information. She told me we owed two additional months of service and that the account would be sent to collections. The way the conversation was handled was unprofessional. When I explained that we were canceling because the pest control service wasn't working and that we had already hired another company, she responded by saying the reason we still had roaches was because of the area we live in. She then said, "Sure, go ahead and go to another company. Have them pay your final fees and collection fees." I was shocked that someone in customer service would speak to a customer that way. Beyond the customer service issues, the pest control itself was ineffective. After months of treatments, we were still dealing with roaches, which is the main reason we decided to switch companies. For a local, small business, I expected much better communication, consistency, and professionalism. Instead, I received conflicting information, poor customer service, and threats of collections after trying to cancel my account. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

Since starting service, we've noticed a significant reduction in both mosquitoes and flies. Gus is always professional, friendly, and takes the time to answer questions and explain what he's doing. It's been nice being able to spend more time outdoors without constantly swatting bugs. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable and dependable for mosquito and fly control, I highly recommend Gus and the team at Bulwark Exterminating.

This was completely unprofessional and honestly unsafe. Customers beware if you value communication, scheduling respect, and basic courtesy before someone enters your property.
