This is a very honorable, stand-up, business. I put out for bids explaining a specific problem I had in my home. Many companies told me I needed annual service contracts, full house treatments, indoor and outdoor treatments. All of this ignored the specifics of my issue. The arrived and quickly identified my issue and saw that what I was doing was treating it fine. There was only one additional thing for me to do, which they educated me to do. They told me there was no need to spray chemicals; no treatment was required. They were here maybe 5 minutes. They told me this was essentially a consultation. There would be no charge. Talk about a surprise! I could easily see a fee for showing up (like plumbers), but they were gracious. They said genuinely, they just provided me with some information. If I get frustrated with my efforts, there is a path they can take, but it's certainly not necessary now. They have gained a customer! I suspected I had a raccoon in my attic. I requested quotes from 3 different businesses. Vermin X did not have the cheapest, but they had the best philosophy as far as their humane treatment of the animals. Mike clearly described his process, didn't pressure me and it was obvious to me that he was an animal lover and passionate about what he did. I was sold. He even took pictures of the baby raccoons for me! (Precious and cute in every way, but they had to go!) His technique was safe and humane. Mama vacated the premises after the 2nd day ~ no traps or traumatic methods. After his first visit, he came back 3 more times, just to make sure everything worked as it should. Incomplete job with Vermin X that took over a month to not complete and cost me about $3k. I needed recommendations from them and also paid up front for what was communicated as the best and most humane way to handle a difficult situation with a stubborn raccoon mother and her babies. They offered me a free estimate, but once they had my $ the service and communication just dropped off. I was the one reaching out to them for updates, and had to constantly inquire about their unfinished services, next steps, and timelines. Finally, about 6 weeks after the job was contracted and with more excuses being communicated as to why things were not yet done I gave up and requested a refund, of which only $200 was agreed to for a sanitation service they forgot to perform because they said they had basically finished the job and there are no refunds. Additionally the quality of work that was done is questionable. For example I was charged for an exclusion under my home with a door to be built, but the door they built was just a piece of wood screwed into the opening they left... Not cut to size (because he said his saw was stolen!?!), no hinges, etc. I had reached out to Vermin X based on their positive reviews on yelp, so feel obligated to share my negative experience. My situation was admittedly more involved and complicated than a lot of the cases I've read about, but I followed the company's advice, asked questions, and paid a lot of money to have the job done right and in a timely manner. No company should request up-front payment. At most, a 50% down payment, or just payment of the initial service fee. Additionally I wish I had known about their limited weekend and holiday availability as this process may have been made suitable for me with just marginally better availability and communication from Vermin X, or at least acknowledgement of unmet expectations and that they might be willing to make improvements in the future. read more

I called Mike to deal with whatever was playing soccer in our attic. He came to my home at the time he said he would, and we walked around the house looking for entry points (not hard to find, I could have just about stuck my head through the hole). His assessment was that one or more raccoons were living in our attic! Much as I love wildlife, I much prefer it to stay wild and not in my attic, so we agreed on a plan - the first night, he set up a camera to confirm what we were dealing with and how many. It turned out to be a single raccoon. He then fixed up an exclusion "trap", which is basically a one-way gate - the raccoon comes out of the hole, and can't get back in, and so moves home to somewhere else (hopefully not my neighbor's attic). The raccoon Is gone, the hole is patched and I'm happy. read more

Mike came out to give an estimate for pest control--rat extermination and exclusion specifically. We had several different vendors come out and give estimates and his was the most thorough. We ended up going with him and are so happy with his work. After getting our rat troubles under control we hired him to also do extermination work for bugs around the house. We had NO IDEA how many bugs there were around the houes until he sprayed! We had an exterminator several years ago but didn't see results... NOT the case with Vermin X. Can't say enough good things about this guy. Got surprised by a snake in my garage a couple of weeks ago and called around to try and get some help getting it gone as I had family coming in that weekend. Reached Mike who was unfortunately headed in the opposite direction at the time but gave me a quote over the phone and offered to call me back when he was finished to see if I hadn't found anyone else sooner. True to his word, he did call back later and I still hadn't found anyone else. He let me know how soon he could be there, got to my house on time, found the snake again pretty quickly, and disposed of it. He's uber professional, very polite and cordial, extremely fair in pricing, and knows his stuff. Turns out it was a western diamondback rattlesnake. Fast forward to yesterday when 2 of this rattler's cousins gave me a visit, I called him again. Gave me an hour long window of when he could make it to my home, showed up within that time, caught both snakes, and then sprayed the perimeter of my home and garage with a strong repellent to ward off the rest of their kin. Introduced him to a few neighbors who were glad to use his services as well. I found 3 baby skunks under the barn. Michael came out the same day I called him. He was very knowledgeable, and came up with a plan to live trap the skunks. He caught one the second day and took it off. Continued coming over until he was sure the other skunks had moved on. He sealed up the hole and we haven't had any problems since. We had Mike come out in July for a pest in our attic. I messaged him through Yelp and within 10 minutes, he contacted me back even though it was almost 5 pm. He came out the next day, did a roof and attic inspection then formulated a plan. Mike is very knowledgeable about pest issues and is willing to explain how and why he will approach the problem. He ended up finding many access points into our attic from the roof, then sealed them all up with hardwire and a foam insulation if needed.
