Over…read morethe past several visits, Doug G, Carlos R, and Jeffrey R have each come to my home for either quarterly maintenance or targeted treatments, and they've all been professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. One thing I really appreciated was that they identified a honey bee colony on my property. Instead of simply treating it, they let me know so I could have the bees safely rehomed before they started producing honey inside my walls. That level of care and attention really stood out. The quarterly exterior treatments have been well worth it for me. Wasps and ants are a recurring issue around my home, so keeping up with regular service has made a big difference. If I have a specific problem between visits, like a wasp nest, they're quick to come out and take care of it. Most of what I need is included in the annual service. Mosquito treatment is an additional charge, but that's separate from the standard plan. I also appreciate that they don't push unnecessary interior treatments when there aren't any issues. Their pricing is competitive, and their payment and scheduling system is excellent. It's easy to manage appointments, and they're very responsive by text whenever I have a question or need service. Overall, I've been very happy with Atex and would definitely recommend them.

I'm trying to understand why my experience is so different from these 5 star reviews…read more. After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Our favorite part is you can shoot them a quick text with a picture of the problem, and they'll schedule an appointment, all over text! We pay for the regular treatments, but if critters start popping up between the service, they'll come out and re-treat (usually for free) - we cannot recommend Stride enough, if you're on the fence and reading this right now, you won't make the wrong decision to go with Stride. All of the technicians have been stellar, but specifically I wanted to mention Burton - he has come to our house on multiple occasions and is always very polite, informative and thorough. Burton always goes the extra mile to check everything out around the house before he leaves, beyond the areas we've mentioned, and always chats with me on his way out to let me know what was applied, how it was applied, and any follow up steps (an engineer's dream). He even mentioned we should shoot him/Stride a text in 1-2 weeks to let him know if our attic ant issue is resolved. Thank you Burton! Stride really cares about their customers, and they do a killer job. There's a reason they are rated 5.0 stars on Google, Yelp & Facebook, and not 4.9 or lower.

I do not see any more termite activity either. So the big question is, was it worth the cost? Well that depends on your finances and whether you can spare the $53+ monthly charge for 4 annual visits. We decided to cancel after a year to cut back on some expenses. And as I mentioned in the previous review, you'll get a text, which gives you the opportunity to also leave review and a tip. Overall, the service did what it was supposed to. They can also come out to do a single treatment which we will keep in mind.

My closet still smells of a combo of dead animal and the deodorant they left in there to mask the ghastly stench. I had to close the door to that bedroom and not use it for 3 months without gagging running in to quickly get something. No apologies or compensation. This time it was for insect control in the kitchen and surrounding areas. The scheduler set the appointment and gave me a 4 hour window of time. That time came and went. I even paid someone to be present when they came because I could t stay the full 4 hour window of time. So I called chemfree an hour after the window of time, asking where he was. She said he was running late. Then called me back several minutes later to say she mixed the days up and it was actually the next day. Same time window. So I said as long as it was after noon and not earlier because I'd be on a Zoom call for work and couldn't answer the door during the call, much less have a lengthy conversation with someone needing me to explain the problem. He showed up 2 hours early and knocked and rang the bell for a good 15 minutes right as I was just beginning the call. It was very interrupting and hard to focus during that time on what I was saying on the business call with all the knocking a scribging. I simply couldn't answer the door to even talk through the security camera because I was on a business call. Turns out he was just there to talk about it and not actually do the job. So that was enough of my time wasted and a sign that it wasn't a good match that they couldn't respect my time I had made for them by not showing up when they said they would. Initial cost would've been $200 and a monthly payment and a contract.
