We came home from vacation (in July) to an unbelievable wildlife problem. Within days, our dog was sprayed by a skunk twice -- the second time directly in the face -- and our house reeked of skunk for weeks. The expansion of Wyoming Springs Rd eliminated part of a greenbelt and our property apparently became the neighborhood wildlife hangout. Austin Wildlife Removal ultimately trapped 14 skunks, 2 opossums, and countless raccoons. Even the trapper was stunned and said he'd never seen numbers like this outside of mating season. Gary was knowledgeable, responsive, and kept coming back until the situation was under control. If you think you have "a skunk," you may be surprised. We certainly were! Highly recommend Austin Wildlife Removal. read more

You can't go wrong with Gary for your pest control needs. A ringtail had been squatting in our attic for months and made a huge mess. On a FREE inspection Gary found where the likely entryway was (broken siding under an eave that I hadn't noticed). Gary covered it with duct tape. And provided next step instructions on how to take care of it myself, or a VERY fair estimate on how much he would charge to patch it up once we knew the animal was evicted. I ended up taking care of it myself through Gary's advice, only because it was a safer part of our steep 2 story roof. I have now solved the problem with only the cost of a strong roofing adhesive and used some spare flashing I had laying around. I know 100% who I'm reaching out to next time a critter decides to enjoy my attic. Thank you Gary! read more

I am currently three Ring-tailed cats deep into my relationship with Gary, and the score is definitely Gary: 3, Critters: 0. Living in the Long Canyon area means I'm basically a high-end squatter in the middle of the woods, and apparently, I'm "invading" the local wildlife's favorite real estate. For nearly six years, Gary has been my primary peacekeeper. He is a rare breed himself: part master investigator, part roofing/construction expert, and 100% perfectionist. He doesn't just show up on time; he makes the right assessment the first time and handles the problem humanely and comprehensively. Honestly, why would you trust anyone else with your uninvited houseguests? If you're dealing with critters in Austin, Gary is the only name you need to know. My attic--and my sanity--thank him! read more

Accidentally ended up with a skunk in my squirrel trap and immediately knew that removing it was something I would never be able to talk my wife into. Thus the call to Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal. Gary responded immediately and we set up an appointment for the removal process. Gary appeared at exactly the appointed time, quickly figured out how to get Pepe le Pew out of the trap, and was gone in thirty minutes. A very satisfying experience though I must admit that Gary was much less exciting than Ernie Brown, the Turtle Man, as seen on Animal Planet. There were no shouts of "Live action!", he didn't bring his dog Lolly, and as far as I could tell, there was no wrestling with the critter involved. However, there was no lingering aroma either. In summary, Gary is a gentleman and first class wildlife intermediary between us humans and the varmints we have displaced with our homesteads. I highly recommend Gary and his services! read more

They came and did a thorough inspection. No issue was found. That gave us great peace of mind. They were professional and had good communication. Arrived on time. I would recommend them and I will use them again in the future. read more

Gary is amazing! After I showed him videos of the critters, possums and skunks, he knew exactly what to do and what traps he needed. He also came by daily to check the traps. Completely impressed and satisfied. read more

Gary helped us resolve our animal in the attic problem. He diagnosed the problem on his first visit, came by when he said he would, resolved where the animals were getting in and guaranteed his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing critters dealt with! read more

Gary was great. Had a squirrel that decided to make a home in my attic. Gary set a trap, and although he didn't trap him, was able to seal the entrance after a few days when the squirrel was out and I have not heard any more scratching coming from my ceiling. Very pleasant and professional. If you have animal invasion issues, Gary is your guy! read more

Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal Services is nothing short of amazing! We noticed a hole at base of our chimney box on one side along with chew/scratch marks on another side. Called Gary this morning at 9:30 and he was here to offer a free inspection by 10:15am! From the roof Gary said it looked like we caught the problem at the beginning as there was not much activity showing at the entry/exit hole. Gary then inspected our attic and while there were paw prints abound the perimeter of the attic, there was no damage to any of the air ducts thankfully. Gary then placed strips of tape over the hole and we will monitor for 24 hours. Gary said if the tape has not been disturbed we should feel safe about getting the chimney box repaired quickly. If the tape is disturbed he will proceed with setting up traps to safely catch the raccoon. Gary then offered advice on how to help keep critters at bay as well. He was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I asked how much his coming to inspect cost and he said "no charge" for this, unless the raccoon returns and trapping is needed! We can't thank or recommend Gary enough! He is a one man operation that seems to take great pride in offering an honest service without trying to sell us something we don't need. read more

Owner was personable and professional. He took care of our raccoon problem quickly and efficiently. We'd use him again, but hope we won't need to read more

It started when I heard the patter of little feet. In the attic. In the middle of the night. Then the AC just in my bedroom, wasn't blowing cold anymore. I had enough of the squatters in my house who weren't paying rent. I started my search on Yelp who could help me. Austin's Wildlife Removal was the only web site that said they find the entryways and close them off. I called and Gary showed up the next day to give me an estimate. He climbed into the attic above the garage and confirmed what I suspected. I have raccoons in the attic. My friends corrected me by telling me I had bats in my belfry. He also climbed into the attic above the bedroom. Yes, the raccoons wrecked my AC Ducts. He walked the perimeter of the house with me. Showed me where on the eave vents the raccoons were trying to get out of the attic. Then he climbed on the roof. They had removed a non-visible vent on the roof. He took pictures to show me the dirty foot prints all around the opening. He gave me an estimate and explained the terms. I was not responsible for paying until he was done. If he didn't catch any critters, I didn't have to pay. At the time I thought the estimate was high, when he finished his job I had changed my mind. The price was worth it. He set the trap and the waiting began. After a couple of days, we caught the first raccoon. It was two weeks and Gary caught a total of three raccoons. I highly recommend Gary to anyone who hears weird noise in the attic. If the critters return, I will be calling Gary immediately read more

It was great working with Gary. Immediately responsive, on time, and friendly. Called him to clear out any possible squirrel/ringtail cat intrustion. Did very thorough work properly blocking all openings and weak spots in my roof/trim. And even gave me a discount when it was determined there werent any critters currently living in the attic. Recommend 100% for your wildlife problems. read more

I reached out to Gary, on behalf of an elderly resident, who noticed a noise coming from the chimney. I was able to capture the audio, send it to him, and he knew right away that they were dealing with a raccoon who had taken up residence for her offspring. Over the four days of monitoring the situation, Gary did a great job of keeping me updated on a daily basis. He is very thorough. Great communication. I highly recommend him. read more

We had a raccoon in our attic and he said Gary said he could help us. We also had a free estimate come out from another company. What they described is that they flood the attic with light and if needed pheromones so the mama raccoon would then leave and take any babies with her. He also said we had LOTS of damage and that they could work on all of that. When I asked where they would go he said any place warm and dry and I think I suggested my neighbors attics and he said that was possible. I just couldn't see getting rid of a raccoon only to have it move into my neighbor's house. I live in the city and there are not other warm dry places around. I called Gary back. He was FANTASTIC! He put a trap up and got the mother raccoon with in a day and then a few days later had the six (you read that right-6!) babies and closed up the roof. During all of this he was very nice to work with and also honest about everything that happened. We were in a time crunch because we were leaving town to be gone for a month in a week. According to Gary we were very lucky that they were all found in that short of a time. He said sometimes it can be much more difficult. He did not promise to do all of the repairs, but made helpful sug I would highly recommend him. I think he comes off as gruff on the phone because he loves his job! We paid Mr. Bauhof a considerable sum to trap the animals in our attic and seal up the holes. He sold me a line about how thorough he was and his method. He never did the follow up inspections we paid for so I had my doubts. When the most recent wood rat horror occurred he would not respond to my contacts. Today I learned he just didn't do the work except the places where you can easily see from the driveway, which he pointed out in great detail. Turns out even those are just a phony facade like a doggy door for rats. He flat out scammed us. If you've got a critter problem, just stop googling and call Gary now. He's a one-man organization so you don't have to deal with a big company who charge you for things like "checking traps" every day even if there's nothing in them. We had armadillos living under our house and Gary only charged me for what he trapped. He clearly cares about his work and strives to provide great service. Gary went above and beyond, and even after he trapped all the 'dillos, he filled in the den with an expanding foam to keep them from coming back. Exceptional customer service, and a nice guy to work with! read more

If you ever need help removing wildlife, Gary is your guy! I noticed a pretty pungent smell coming from under my deck and found Gary online. He came out the same day and diagnosed the problem. Within 20 minutes he had pulled up several boards on my deck, found the dead raccoon, retrieved the dead raccoon, put it in his truck, and screwed the boards back in. Not to mention, his prices can't be beat. While I hope I don't have to deal with dead animals on my property anytime soon, I know that if I do I will absolutely call Gary. read more

We heard a sound coming from our fireplace that sounded like a bird so we reached out to Gary. He managed to swing by in about half an hour. If we do find ourselves with a pest in the future, we will DEFINITELY be calling Gary again! read more

5 stars for Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal Services. A couple weeks ago, we heard movement and scratching in our attic. A little investigation and we saw an animal hiding up there. There was no way I was gonna take on a raccoon myself. So we called Gary at Austin Wildlife Removal. He showed up promptly, and started his investigation. He found out how a raccoon was getting into our attic (through a roof vent), and showed us where they (not exactly sure how many there were - might have been one, might have been many) had been crawling around in the attic. You could see the trails through the insulation. He looked closely for damage, and for their "toilet" - but didn't find either. whew! He suggested to add a wire screen around the all of the roof vents except one. On the one where they were coming in, he setup a trap on the roof that would catch the raccoon either coming or going. We left the trap in place for almost two weeks. No raccoon. He must have moved onto another house. Gary came back, removed the trap, and secured the last roof vent so they couldn't get back in. Gary's a great guy, and really knows his stuff. Very friendly, happy to explain animal behavior, patterns, concerns, and I had great confidence that he knows his business. Just one of those guys that you're happy to work with. Gary seemed disappointed that we didn't actually catch the raccoon, but that's OK by us. As long as our attic is wildlife free - we're happy. Without a doubt I would recommend Gary for any of your wildlife troubles, and I know he'll be my first call should the need arise in the future. read more

We first hired Austin's Wildlife Removal Services 3 years ago when Gary quickly and effectively removed a racoon family from our attic and walls. He found and blocked all entry points, and the raccoon problem did not return. A month ago, we hired Gary to help remove the source of much scuttling and scratching in our walls and attic. Gary professionally and effectively removed 8 rats and blocked all entry points and helped us with an interim repair to our air conditioning ducts. Not only is Gary amazing at his job, he brings a unique and engaging personality to the experience. I think he should have his own reality TV show! read more

Reading all the reviews, I'm hard pressed to say something that hasn't already been posted. Everything everyone is saying is spot on. Gary is the epitome of "small business, big heart." He came out on a Saturday and then again on Sunday. He's someone who takes great pride in his work, is very honest and upfront, and patient. He's clearly swamped with work, and whereas that would make most rush through jobs and customer interactions, Gary takes the time to explain things thoroughly and he makes you feel like an important customer, not just another job. Thanks to him, we no longer have raccoons in our attic waking us up at 4AM. read more

Gary is a God send. I have used yelp on numerous occasions for home services and have been disappointed several times but in this case all reviewers with glowing reviews were absolutely right Gary spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone asking me questions about my pest problem he came over despite my busy schedule multiple times to diagnose and trap unwanted friends moving in underneath my home. He even taught me a couple of things. it is truly rare to come upon such A competent efficient and honorable person it was a pleasure thank you for your services read more

My wife and I needed roof rats removed from our garage and attic. Gary came by and did a free estimate and ended up being our best bidder. His rate was reasonable and his communications were clear and friendly. Gary sealed up several entrance points around the house and in the garage, and even came back after the job was complete to do some additional sealing around our deck. He told me that it deeply bothers him if he thinks of something that he might have missed. I like that kind of honest and committed workmanship. Thanks, Gary! read more

I met with Gary this morning to discuss my "noise" in the attic. He arrived on time, and did a full free inspection of the house. You can tell he cares about customer service, and was eager to answer my long list of questions. He checked the eaves, and eventually found an opening near the AC units. He told me how to set traps, and what to look for. He really was a huge help. He allowed me to set my own traps, and did not charge me for the service call! I really appreciated his help, and if I can't get rid of the critters on my own, I'll be sure to call on Gary!! Do not hestitate to call him! Thanks...Happy Round Rock customer! read more

I just got off the phone with Gary and felt compelled to write a review. He was not able to accept my business at this time (it's too small of a job and he's up to his eyeballs in work) but he took the time to walk me through a few steps to help me figure out what's under my back deck. I really appreciate that he didn't simply write me off. Here are a few things I really liked: 1. He told me that my problem was small peanuts and didn't BS me into thinking that he could do it. That's so much nicer than being put on the back burner and being annoyed when somebody no-shows or isn't thorough. I'm a fan of upfront honesty and think it speaks volumes to someone's character. 2. He listened to my problem, told me ways to diagnose and remedy the issue and he was patient with me on the phone. All free of charge, I might add. 3. He told me to call him back if I had any other issues or if I couldn't find a good company to remedy the issue. If you had a serious problem I would definitely recommend this guy to do the work. He sounds like the real deal to me. read more

A year ago I made the huge mistake of hiring another company (you can read my 1 star review of them on Yelp, look up Wildernex). This year I was blessed to find Gary. So impressed by Gary! Can't recommend him highly enough! We had a rat problem that several other pest companies couldn't solve. But Gary did! After looking around the attic and then checking around the outside of the house, Gary found an entry point that no one else even checked for - a "weep hole" near the foundation that he found droppings in. Gary's superior experience and skill were obvious. Then, he took customer service up a notch. I had been actively trapping and working hard to seal up possible exclusion points. I had spent several hundred dollars on other pest companies that couldn't solve the problem. Gary offered me the chance to block the weep holes myself rather than pay him to do it. He refused to bill me - even though he was the only one who found the apparent entry point. After spending money and failing with other pest companies, I can't say how amazing that was. Gary even gave me some industrial mesh and showed me how to cut it and put it into the weep holes. The results? So far, so good. No evidence of rats for the past couple months! Thank you, Gary! read more

Everything Gary told me was true and honest. He came over every day at no extra charge to assess the situation after he set the trap. I trapped a raccoon and 2 possums myself in my attic but one of them would not go in my trap. His worked, though. I have to hand it to him, I didn't think it would! He also repaired my roof where they were getting in charged me practically nothing for it. I couldn't be happier with the service. read more

I've had a rat problem in my attic for a couple years now. Tried to deal with it myself, but could not get rid of them. One day I noticed more sign than usual so I thought I'd call in a professional. This is exactly what I got with Gary. I did some searching on the web and ran across his unbelievably high Yelp rating. Could those high ratings really be true? Absolutely YES. He was a great guy, really through, and persistent as heck. Easy to talk to and he went the extra yard for customer service. Also, reasonable prices, in my opinion. I would highly recommend Gary. read more

On a recent Friday night, we heard loud scratching and clawing in our attic. At 3 AM, any noise in the attic is disconcerting and sounds far louder than it really is. My first thought was a chupacabra. My second was raccoon! We didn't hear it on Saturday night, so thought, maybe it was something on the roof and all would be well. But, on Sunday night, it was back. And louder than ever. On Monday, I called Austin's Wildlife Removal Service and talked with Gary. He said he'd come by in the afternoon and make an assessment - at no charge. Gary arrived at 2:00, came to the door, and said, "I know where it got in, you're missing a piece of soffit board. He pointed it out to me and, sure enough, we were. Not good for a three month old house - a building error. Anyway, Gary started to look for clues in the attic. Since we'd only had the raccoon for two nights, clues were, thankfully, hard to find. But, in short order, Gary found and pointed out to me a couple of raccoon footprints on dusty decking boards. After confirming that we had a raccoon, Gary said he would fabricate a trap at the entry point and expected that we'd catch the raccoon that same night. And we did! Gary then came and collected the raccoon. Gary quoted a very reasonable price for the trap and catching the raccoon. If the raccoon was female and lactating, then he would search further for babies. Thankfully, in our case, the female raccoon was not lactating and there were no babies. Gary left the trap in place for another night and came again the next day (third trip) to check the trap and remove it. We also left a very nice temporary patch made of wire mesh since our builder is fixing the missing soffit under warranty. Gary did all this work and made three trips to our house for $300 - frankly, a bargain. And, he did the work very quickly. I'm sure there are some situations where the cost would be higher - e.g., multiple animals, babies to find, massive mess to clean up, etc. But we were very lucky. My advice when you hear an animal in your attic - call Gary and call him fast. Thanks Gary! read more

Gary is absolutely great! He knows what he is doing and if he says he will be there, he will be there. I had several other companies come out and none of them were nearly as prepared as Gary. We are so happy with all his work. He removed a mom raccoon and 3 of its babies. #relief read more

I called Gary during the winter and he was really busy and asked if I could wait a month or so. I said yes. But then when we finally scheduled an appointment after that month, he was a no-show. He called me the next day and left a message on my machine but I didn't bother to return it. I didn't mind waiting based on all of these positive reviews, but I won't do business with someone who says they'll come at a specific date and time and then I'm sitting there waiting all afternoon for nothing. read more

After reading the rave reviews, I left Gary a message on a Sunday because there were animal droppings in my attic. He called the next day when he was in my area and was able to meet me at my home shortly after. In moments I knew Gary was very knowledgeable and experienced. He took time at the end of his long day to explain everything and answer my questions. He covered a small hole on my roof as a test and returned the next day to confirm there were no uninvited guests still in my attic. Can't say enough good things about Gary. We had a squirrel in the attic and Gary quickly found the entry point, put a trap and caught it. Gary was very responsive and helpful in identifying problem areas associated with the infestation of rats in residential units, however upon inspection of my situation, he was very forward about informing me that he was a one man shop that doesn't offer services to customers who are not home owners and far too busy to assist in providing his professional opinion and/or quote to assist in remedying my situation. read more

Wow. My wife and I moved into a new house this year. We were woken up one summer Saturday morning to the sounds of scratching above our bedroom, which wasn't exactly a house feature that was listed on the glossy brochure. Fast forward to today - the family of squirrels that had decided to co-habitate with us is now gone, all thanks to Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal Services. We tried a few other companies before trying AWRS - I'd recommend that learn from our experience and go straight to the correct answer by calling Gary. He was friendly, professional, systematic in his approach, and thorough. He identified the rodents, got rid of them, and completely sealed up all entry ways into our home. I'm pretty sure word has gotten around to the rest of the rodent community that our place is buttoned up like Fort Knox. Thanks, Gary! read more
