You can't go wrong with Gary for your pest control needs. A ringtail had been squatting in our attic for months and made a huge mess. On a FREE inspection Gary found where the likely entryway was (broken siding under an eave that I hadn't noticed). Gary covered it with duct tape. And provided next step instructions on how to take care of it myself, or a VERY fair estimate on how much he would charge to patch it up once we knew the animal was evicted. I ended up taking care of it myself through Gary's advice, only because it was a safer part of our steep 2 story roof. Accidentally ended up with a skunk in my squirrel trap and immediately knew that removing it was something I would never be able to talk my wife into. Thus the call to Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal. Gary responded immediately and we set up an appointment for the removal process. Gary appeared at exactly the appointed time, quickly figured out how to get Pepe le Pew out of the trap, and was gone in thirty minutes. A very satisfying experience though I must admit that Gary was much less exciting than Ernie Brown, the Turtle Man, as seen on Animal Planet. There were no shouts of "Live action!", he didn't bring his dog Lolly, and as far as I could tell, there was no wrestling with the critter involved. However, there was no lingering aroma either. Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal Services is nothing short of amazing! We noticed a hole at base of our chimney box on one side along with chew/scratch marks on another side. Called Gary this morning at 9:30 and he was here to offer a free inspection by 10:15am! From the roof Gary said it looked like we caught the problem at the beginning as there was not much activity showing at the entry/exit hole. Gary then inspected our attic and while there were paw prints abound the perimeter of the attic, there was no damage to any of the air ducts thankfully. Gary then placed strips of tape over the hole and we will monitor for 24 hours. Gary said if the tape has not been disturbed we should feel safe about getting the chimney box repaired quickly. If the tape is disturbed he will proceed with setting up traps to safely catch the raccoon. Gary then offered advice on how to help keep critters at bay as well. He was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I asked how much his coming to inspect cost and he said "no charge" for this, unless the raccoon returns and trapping is needed! We can't thank or recommend Gary enough! He is a one man operation that seems to take great pride in offering an honest service without trying to sell us something we don't need. read more

It started when I heard the patter of little feet. In the attic. In the middle of the night. Then the AC just in my bedroom, wasn't blowing cold anymore. I had enough of the squatters in my house who weren't paying rent. I started my search on Yelp who could help me. Austin's Wildlife Removal was the only web site that said they find the entryways and close them off. I called and Gary showed up the next day to give me an estimate. He climbed into the attic above the garage and confirmed what I suspected. I have raccoons in the attic. My friends corrected me by telling me I had bats in my belfry. He also climbed into the attic above the bedroom. Yes, the raccoons wrecked my AC Ducts. He walked the perimeter of the house with me. Showed me where on the eave vents the raccoons were trying to get out of the attic. Then he climbed on the roof. They had removed a non-visible vent on the roof. He took pictures to show me the dirty foot prints all around the opening. He gave me an estimate and explained the terms. I was not responsible for paying until he was done. If he didn't catch any critters, I didn't have to pay. At the time I thought the estimate was high, when he finished his job I had changed my mind. The price was worth it. He set the trap and the waiting began. After a couple of days, we caught the first raccoon. It was two weeks and Gary caught a total of three raccoons. We had a raccoon in our attic and he said Gary said he could help us. We also had a free estimate come out from another company. What they described is that they flood the attic with light and if needed pheromones so the mama raccoon would then leave and take any babies with her. He also said we had LOTS of damage and that they could work on all of that. When I asked where they would go he said any place warm and dry and I think I suggested my neighbors attics and he said that was possible. I just couldn't see getting rid of a raccoon only to have it move into my neighbor's house. I live in the city and there are not other warm dry places around. I called Gary back. He was FANTASTIC! He put a trap up and got the mother raccoon with in a day and then a few days later had the six (you read that right-6!) babies and closed up the roof. During all of this he was very nice to work with and also honest about everything that happened. We were in a time crunch because we were leaving town to be gone for a month in a week. According to Gary we were very lucky that they were all found in that short of a time. He said sometimes it can be much more difficult. We paid Mr. Bauhof a considerable sum to trap the animals in our attic and seal up the holes. He sold me a line about how thorough he was and his method. He never did the follow up inspections we paid for so I had my doubts. When the most recent wood rat horror occurred he would not respond to my contacts. Today I learned he just didn't do the work except the places where you can easily see from the driveway, which he pointed out in great detail. Turns out even those are just a phony facade like a doggy door for rats. He flat out scammed us. He's a one-man organization so you don't have to deal with a big company who charge you for things like "checking traps" every day even if there's nothing in them. We had armadillos living under our house and Gary only charged me for what he trapped. He clearly cares about his work and strives to provide great service. If you ever need help removing wildlife, Gary is your guy! I noticed a pretty pungent smell coming from under my deck and found Gary online. He came out the same day and diagnosed the problem. Within 20 minutes he had pulled up several boards on my deck, found the dead raccoon, retrieved the dead raccoon, put it in his truck, and screwed the boards back in. Not to mention, his prices can't be beat. While I hope I don't have to deal with dead animals on my property anytime soon, I know that if I do I will absolutely call Gary. read more

5 stars for Gary at Austin's Wildlife Removal Services. A couple weeks ago, we heard movement and scratching in our attic. A little investigation and we saw an animal hiding up there. There was no way I was gonna take on a raccoon myself. So we called Gary at Austin Wildlife Removal. He showed up promptly, and started his investigation. He found out how a raccoon was getting into our attic (through a roof vent), and showed us where they (not exactly sure how many there were - might have been one, might have been many) had been crawling around in the attic. You could see the trails through the insulation. He looked closely for damage, and for their "toilet" - but didn't find either. whew! He suggested to add a wire screen around the all of the roof vents except one. On the one where they were coming in, he setup a trap on the roof that would catch the raccoon either coming or going. We left the trap in place for almost two weeks. No raccoon. He must have moved onto another house. Gary came back, removed the trap, and secured the last roof vent so they couldn't get back in. Gary's a great guy, and really knows his stuff. Very friendly, happy to explain animal behavior, patterns, concerns, and I had great confidence that he knows his business. Just one of those guys that you're happy to work with. Gary seemed disappointed that we didn't actually catch the raccoon, but that's OK by us. As long as our attic is wildlife free - we're happy. We first hired Austin's Wildlife Removal Services 3 years ago when Gary quickly and effectively removed a racoon family from our attic and walls. He found and blocked all entry points, and the raccoon problem did not return. A month ago, we hired Gary to help remove the source of much scuttling and scratching in our walls and attic. So impressed by Gary! Can't recommend him highly enough! We had a rat problem that several other pest companies couldn't solve. But Gary did! After looking around the attic and then checking around the outside of the house, Gary found an entry point that no one else even checked for - a "weep hole" near the foundation that he found droppings in. Gary's superior experience and skill were obvious. Then, he took customer service up a notch. I had been actively trapping and working hard to seal up possible exclusion points. I had spent several hundred dollars on other pest companies that couldn't solve the problem. Gary offered me the chance to block the weep holes myself rather than pay him to do it. He refused to bill me - even though he was the only one who found the apparent entry point. After spending money and failing with other pest companies, I can't say how amazing that was. I just got off the phone with Gary and felt compelled to write a review. He was not able to accept my business at this time (it's too small of a job and he's up to his eyeballs in work) but he took the time to walk me through a few steps to help me figure out what's under my back deck. I really appreciate that he didn't simply write me off. Here are a few things I really liked: 1. He told me that my problem was small peanuts and didn't BS me into thinking that he could do it. That's so much nicer than being put on the back burner and being annoyed when somebody no-shows or isn't thorough. I'm a fan of upfront honesty and think it speaks volumes to someone's character. 2. He listened to my problem, told me ways to diagnose and remedy the issue and he was patient with me on the phone. All free of charge, I might add. 3. I trapped a raccoon and 2 possums myself in my attic but one of them would not go in my trap. His worked, though. I have to hand it to him, I didn't think it would! On a recent Friday night, we heard loud scratching and clawing in our attic. At 3 AM, any noise in the attic is disconcerting and sounds far louder than it really is. My first thought was a chupacabra. My second was raccoon! We didn't hear it on Saturday night, so thought, maybe it was something on the roof and all would be well. But, on Sunday night, it was back. And louder than ever. On Monday, I called Austin's Wildlife Removal Service and talked with Gary. He said he'd come by in the afternoon and make an assessment - at no charge. Gary arrived at 2:00, came to the door, and said, "I know where it got in, you're missing a piece of soffit board. He pointed it out to me and, sure enough, we were. Not good for a three month old house - a building error. Anyway, Gary started to look for clues in the attic. Since we'd only had the raccoon for two nights, clues were, thankfully, hard to find. But, in short order, Gary found and pointed out to me a couple of raccoon footprints on dusty decking boards. After confirming that we had a raccoon, Gary said he would fabricate a trap at the entry point and expected that we'd catch the raccoon that same night. And we did! Gary then came and collected the raccoon. Gary quoted a very reasonable price for the trap and catching the raccoon. If the raccoon was female and lactating, then he would search further for babies. Thankfully, in our case, the female raccoon was not lactating and there were no babies. Gary left the trap in place for another night and came again the next day (third trip) to check the trap and remove it. We also left a very nice temporary patch made of wire mesh since our builder is fixing the missing soffit under warranty. Gary did all this work and made three trips to our house for $300 - frankly, a bargain. And, he did the work very quickly. I'm sure there are some situations where the cost would be higher - e.g., multiple animals, babies to find, massive mess to clean up, etc. But we were very lucky. I have used gary before .. for a ring-tail cat. He had to do some "sealing" of the joints around the outside to get that thing to move to somewhere else. What he did worked like a charm. This past Summer, i had a new critter -- raccoon -- that came in from another point (vents).
