Rio is the best. We had a coral snake issue in our back yard today. They family freaked out! I found Rio online and called. He talked us through it and then spent all the time we needed explaining what to do and expect. He went way beyond my expectations. We will keep Rio's number in our cells for the next unwanted critter spotting! Thanks Rio read more

I came home today to find a dead deer in my back yard. I had no idea who to call, so I started with the City of Austin. I live just outside in Travis County, no help so I looked and found Amazon Rodent and Wildlife. I called and Rio came out right away, in just an hour or less. Super quick, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend Rio and Leah, they took care of the issue. read more

I had a very close call with rattlesnake in our backyard. It was a baby so I was concerned there could be more. Rio and Leah came out same day and thoroughly inspected our yard. They also gave us some good knowledge and pointers to try and keep the snakes away. read more

Very professional and very helpful. I called Rio early on a Sunday morning about an animal that had fallen down down our chimney. Unfortunately he was booked for the next few days. However, he spent a while on the phone with me on the phone helping diagnose the problem, discussing possible solutions, and offering ways I could solve the problem on my own. He was very knowledgeable on my exact type of house and chimney and let me know what I could safely do on my own and what should be left to a professional. He also let me know his schedule of fees so I had a basis of comparison when calling other companies. In the end, I followed his exact advice and was able to fix the issue on my own. Big thumbs up for Rio and his excellent help! read more

Rio and Leah are the BEST, period. They came same day, immediately removed a dead possum smelling up half the house! I found the price very reasonable. I called another firm who wanted 30% MORE than Rio and Leah wanted, and said I'd have to pay it whether they were able to access and remove the dead animal, or notl! Huh? No thanks. Rio and Leah just came out, did the job, and were incredibly friendly. I will definitely call them again if I have the need. Great service, nice people. read more

So about a month ago I realized I had something in the attic and I tried everything from setting SEVERAL traps, bait and sticky pads. I even scattered an entire box of mothballs in the attic to try and deter them (NEVER put MOTHBALLS in your attic... worst internet advice I have ever found). So, after an incredible amount of stress and money I called Rio and his wife. They came over the next day and told me it was squirrels, "yearlings" is what he called them and showed me how they were getting in. Rio went up on the roof and showed me each entry point and how he could tell. He then inspected all my vents and pipes throughout the roof and showed me were they were gnawing on my pipe covers. He even cleaned out an old birds nest from under one of my vents and showed me how to better protect them. He then went into the attic and did the same thing. Rio and his wife took the time to go over all my options of how to alleviate the squirrel problem and the best ways to seal off the house and what supplies to use. They also gave me the number of a great repair man that would come over and take care of everything if I did not want to do the work myself. I was so impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable they were and the time they took to look over everything (the entire outside of the houses) and crawl around in my attic, which is a tight fit! They answered all my questions and offered me very helpful advice for future prevention and even said I could call them if I had any more questions before I tried anymore "internet" advice. They were very affordable and worth every penny!! I only wish I called then before I tried diagnosing/fixing the problem myself! read more

Rio and Leah helped me out with some raccoon wrangling. I had a mama and four babies in my attic. The mama was resistant to traps. They came out many times to try different things. They were very committed to helping me solve my problem. For as much time as they put in, I felt that they could have charged more. It was quite a bit less than i paid another company last year. That company spent a half hour putting on a one way door and charged me $350. Rio and Leah came over several times since the mama was trap-shy. They got the babies out from a wall in a closet. They even vacuumed up the mess. These two are good people. They knew what they were doing. They were honest. read more

Rio and Leah are extremely thorough and will go above and beyond to make sure your home is free of any dangerous snakes and rodents. We truly appreciate all they did for the years they took care of our home in Austin. Would definitely recommend! read more

To update, I just received a very threatening call from Rio about this Yelp review! He immediately began yelling at me, screaming that my review is trying to "ruin" his business. Before I got a chance to answer, he threatened me "If you want to make me out to be a monster, I can show you what a monster is like! You take that Yelp review down in an hour or else!" He then hung up. Nice. I am scared that I let this man in our house and that he knows where we live. I am nervous about our pets now and our children after his threat; and after paying a total of over $1400 to him and his partner (whose work he initially said he 'guarantees'), we still have rodents and he says that we never hired him. What? We have over $1400 in checks to prove otherwise. Unfortunately all we have to show for it is ugly metal flashing bolted to our chimney and garage sides..... and the rodents! I am now learning that the best and most humane way of ridding your house of rodents is to either spray peppermint oil extract or fox urine in your attic, so we oredered both from Amazon and are going to try to do this ourselves. Apparently the peppermint smell confuses their strong sense of smell and can disorient rats so they tend to stay away from that smell, and the fox is a natural predator, so that scares them away as well. We will see if this works. I wish I had discovered this before we paid Rio $1400! read more

I have also used Rio at Amazon and was just amazed at how he would just walk up to a opposum and pick it right up by the tail! I don't think anyone else in Austin does exactly what he does which is take of your problem, but is also takes care of the animal too! read more

I have been trying to trap armadillos this month and today, I was surprised to see I had trapped a skunk. I'm smart enough to stay away from a trapped skunk. I called around and spotted Rio's business. He re-arranged his schedule to get out to my house on short order so the trapped skunk wouldn't get too p.o.'d and start squirting everything and stinking up the neighborhood. He transferred the skunk from my cage to his cage and put it in the back of his truck. Tio spent time examining my yard and the armadillo damage and then shared how best to set up a trap to capture armadillos. I really appreciated that he went out of the way to assist me in my own trapping. Rio is a wonderful person to talk to, very personable. He's licensed by the State of Texas and he's a trained zoologist. What more could you ask for! read more

Rio and his wife are awesome! Our rat problem was over in a week...his rat removal plan is pretty genius! He really knows how these animals think/behave, so he knows how to get rid of them! On top of that they are totally nice and available for phone and text questions along the way... read more

Working with Rio was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Not only was he incredibly generous with his time and expansive knowledge, but he was also just a super cool dude. We spent a good hour crawling around on the roof, climbing up into the attic, looking at squirrel prints through dust, chatting about animal behaviors and home construction details, exchanging funny stories, discussing the state of the world and more. I not only felt like I had found a wonderful life-long resource in this service professional, but also a kindred spirit! It was an hour (and a check) well-spent. Rodent problems will never feel as dreadful as they did before! Thanks, Rio. read more

Rio is friendly, helpful, professional, and VERY knowledgable... Not just about issues related to critters. Even if we didn't have an animal in the attic I would have been happy to have him out to inspect the house just to pick his brain about house maintenance. He knows his stuff. Don't waste your time with a service that will come out and try to sell you all sorts of services and subscriptions you don't need. Call Amazon. read more

I had the bad fortune in 2014 of winning deer roulette... one chose my backyard to die in. The city would only come remove it if I could get it out to the curb, but lugging a 100+ pound, rotting deer down a rocky hill then up a 50-yard driveway somehow didn't appeal to me. Rio happened to be out of town, but was still able to get an associate out to my house that evening for a speedy removal ... and not just to the curb, but totally gone. I'm hoping no more deer conk out in my yard, but will be keeping Amazon Rodent & Wildlife Control in my contacts list just in case. read more

I will never use anyone else! I have lived in my 1950's home for over 22 years and have had rodent problems several times. I have used individuals and big companies to iradicate them and seal my house. This time around, for a raccoon and rat problem, I called Rio and Leah. I've never been more satisfied with a home service. They are friendly, easy to work with, and Rio is a zoologist, and an expert on animal behavior. My house is finally sealed properly. Racoons trapped, rats gone and I will never call anyone else again and actually may never need to. If I could give more stars, I would. read more

OMG, this guy! Rio is amazing. We heard a rat get caught in an attic trap...but it did not die and the noise of it struggling was heart-breaking. Of course this sitch happens during the weekend when our exterminator is closed. We called every company we could find and only Rio came out to put the poor critter out of its misery. Afterward, he said he wanted to provide us with advice - we've been having a rat problem in the attic and our exterminators were not helpful (hence, using traps and the horrible pain we created for this critter). We've asked the exterminator TWICE to do an inspection to determine how they were getting into the attic and he kept saying he had no idea. Rio found the problems immediately and told us how to close access points. He did this for free because he's an amazing human and a humane person who seems to understand and care about animals. Honestly, I don't want to see Rio again because that means more rats in the attic, but I wish I could hire him again or have a beer with him because he is THAT great. read more

I can't thank them enough for coming out I had about a six-foot rattlesnake on my front porch so I can get in or out of the house they were there in less than 10 minutes after I called amazing service and just all-around good people to work with so I'll definitely be using them again hopefully not that much but if I need it they will be the ones that I call!!!!!!! Thank you so very much read more

Rio was extremely helpful when we found a dead snake hanging down our gutters. He had me take a picture of it and identified what it was and to make sure it wasn't alive and venomous. Nice and helpful guy. Thanks Rio! read more

Really great service. I can't say enough about them. Rio took the time to show me all the potential areas where rodents could be getting in my house and gave me very easy instructions on how to remedy the situation. Also, instead of gouging me - which he easily could have done - he gave me some options on how to get the squirrels out of my attic for free! I will definitely call Rio again with any problems I have. read more

The best possible experience. Highly recommended! We had trapped a raccoon and wanted him safely relocated to live a long happy life. Rio and his awesome teammate Leah were so kind and compassionate toward the animal and got him settled into his "new trap" with ease. I hate snakes and was horrified/surprised to find one in my apartment under the couch. Apartment Maintenance removed the snake but I called Rio to check the whole apartment just in case. He was incredibly nice and friendly, searched the place from top to bottom, inside shoes, suitcases, etc. and pointed out things to look for when looking for evidence of all kinds of pests. Never had this happen before and I feel like I got really lucky with Rio. He was quick and efficient and I plan to definitely recommend him if ever asked. 5 stars! read more

Wow. Long story short, we had a bad experience, posted a bad review. Rio just called my wife and threatened her! Really?!? Over a review...we had rats for 6 months, got nothing but missed appointments, arrogance, and the accusation that it was all our fault. Our fault?!? We did everything he asked, and he even finally admitted that. Since I had hoped that all the holes were finally sealed up (after 6 months of dealing with this/him) and maybe a rat was just trapped inside, I hoped it would just die. Apparently that's not the problem. Two months later and the rat(s) are still there. Even though I had talked to Rio over the phone and had to deal with his attitude, I thought I'd give him the chance to fix the problem (and I was even polite). He declined. Nice. Now he's threatening my wife?!? We've contacted the police because now we're fearing for our children, pets, and home. I can also see one other review where Rio pestered the poster, but fortunately, he didn't cave. We won't either Rio. STOP CONTACTING US!!!!! read more

Rio and his wife are really cool, easy and professional to work with. Rio's ideas worked, and we always felt like he was helping us solve the problem and not exaggerating it or trying to make money off us. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Rio offered to come and solve my problem, even though 3 other professionals had tried and failed to locate the dead rat hidden somewhere in my wall! He and his wife were professional and worked longer than anyone else, and even though the problem was actually a plumbing issue, meaning the rat was not found in the wall, but in the pipes! I would recommend him! He worked extremely hard, and was the one who solved the mystery for us. He kept his word and did not charge me since he could not remove the dead rat. read more

We noticed a horrible smell coming from the bathroom wall. Managed to look inside the wall and to my horror there was a dead rat inside on the floor. Tried to remove it myself but couldn't. Called these guys on a Sunday night at 9 pm, Rio came by and removed the thing in a few minutes. Excellent service. Glad to have gotten it removed so quickly. Now we can sleep easy tonight. read more

Please stop continually harrassing me through phone,e-mail, and with your lawyer over this review.

I've recommended this company to friends of mine because they do what they promise. At the end of the job, the critters are gone and there's no mess. I found a large, very thick bodied snake in my driveway today -- about 3 feet long. My neighbor scared it under the brush in front of my house and it coiled up there. I got on every website possible and from the picture I took I knew with was either a water moccasin or a non-venomous water snake but the thick body led me to believe it was the former. I was really scared. I called Rio and fortunately he was about three miles away from my house. He was there is less than ten minutes and within two minutes of arriving he caught the snake. It turns out that it was the non-venomous water snake but, still, calling him out here was worth the money spent if only for the peace of mind factor. He is releasing the snake on his property, which I appreciate....even if it's not venomous I don't particularly want it making its home at our house. Highly recommend Rio and Leah. read more

As I sit here in front of my fireplace with it's roaring fire going, I cannot help but think how grateful I am that I found Rio!! After hearing a critter in my fireplace one Saturday, I called around 5 different businesses only to get either an answering machine or an overpriced fee for coming out just to asses the situation. When I finally spoke with Rio, he took the time to explain to me what the situation probably was, how long it would take and the earliest he could get out to help me. He was knowledgeable on what type of chimney I had and advised not to build a fire in case the critter was one that would combust! After a few days of not hearing any movement, I gave him a call back and he was out there that afternoon to remove the animal for me. Very professional and knowledgeable about his job, I would use him again! (hopefully won't have to, however, as he covered up the hole the critter fell through, only after telling me if I wanted to he would be happy to show me how to do it myself...!). Great service!! read more
