During the cold snap we had a Raccoon set up home in our attic. it also brought a skunk smell as it must have been sprayed. I called Critter Ridder twice as I was anxious to have the crittper removed. This was during the week during business hours. 4 days later and still no return call. Then called Jesse's Critter Removal. He answered the phone and within 2 hours he was at our house with his crew. They spotted the raccoon and went about closing access points leaving one with a 1 way gate. He placed a remote camera on the exit and that night Rocky left the building. He came back yesterday and permanently closed all of access points. Jesse has a 2 year warranty and I could not be more pleased with his work. read more

Unfortunately didn't have the best experience here. Although Mike Dillon seemed very knowledgeable, it was tough to nail him down with scheduling or receipts and details. We had an opossum die under our home. At first they weren't able to get it because there were too many fleas so we added a flea service with Mike in additional to the animal removal. He did get the dead animal out and began a flea treatment service. We had been displaced with a 6 month old baby during the infestation and the communication on the plan for service was really frustrating. Once we paid we weren't able to get a hold of him again to complete the job. We had to involve another pest company to finish the job and move back in. read more

Sharing an update after teams response. I have added a new video showcasing a squirrel that could not get back into my attic via an access point on my chimney. In the same video, you can see a squirrel trapped in the vent trying to claw out. My chimney vent was never identified as an entry point by Critter Ridder, nor any other small holes on the perimeter of my home. ABC Home & Commercial services came to my home, reinspected, identified many additional small entry points, and mainly the open chimney vent. Since then, ABC has successfully removed the rodents (squirrels) from my attic and come whenever called. Unlike Critter Ridder, if you call after initial service, be warned, you're looking at an additional $1,500 fee. I would HIGHLY recommend ABC Home & Commercial Services Pest Control to anyone experiencing this issue moving forward. read more

Took over 6 weeks to complete exclusion work that should have taken 2 max. If you have a rat infestation, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I paid a total of $4,000 dollars for their work, and it did not stop my rat infestation. The original reason I hired them was because of the warranty. I have an older home and knew that the issue may be somewhat complicated. They never caught a single rat. Never put a dent in my issue. When I was hearing noises again shortly after they did work, they sent out guys to check for holes that missed major areas. They haphazardly filled things with caulk, which looked horrible, and will only keep out rats until they chew through it again. And each time I called after the initial work done, they acted like I was a major annoyance, and told me I would need to keep paying for missed holes. I got fed up, realizing they would not honor their guarantee after BEING REQUIRED TO PHOTOGRAPH the rats with a wildlife camera to PROVE that they were still there, and nothing being done. So I looked elsewhere, distraught, thinking my problem was potentially unsolvable. It was not. Since I have had a true professional working on my house, (highly recommend EvoFoam Pest Control) he has found and sealed 5 holes that Critter Ridder missed, and trapped and killed half a dozen rats. When, if I continue hearing noise he has been able to address each concern, and seal up holes and trap the rats, and I have paid less than $500. I also have a program in place to prevent re-infestation. Ultimately, Critter Ridder charges too much, and then does not stand by their guarantee if their work is not initially successful. After hearing sounds in my attic and realizing that it was almost certainly raccoons, I knew at least two things for sure: 1. This is not good 2. It is more than I am qualified to deal with, especially since I had no idea how they were entering and exiting my attic (I had done what I thought was a thorough assessment) Based on a suggestion from a friend, I called Critter-Ridder and spoke with Mike and learned that he was the owner. Mike told me that he would have one of his associates out later that day to look over my house and give me a quote based on several factors (size of house, roof pitch, conditions, etc. As promised, I was contacted by Clint. Clint showed up and spent 30-45 minutes on both my roof, as well as in attics. He then showed me where he believed they were entering and exiting. I told him that I was skeptical that such a large animal could get through such a small opening. He explained that if they can get their head in the opening, then they can get the rest of their body in as well. He gave me an estimate that included setting up cameras in a couple of different areas, as well as labor and materials to seal up all parts of the house that would ensure that NO critters, rats, ring-tail cats and squirrels included, would be able to access any area of our house for a period of one year, or they would return to address any additional issues without further charge. After thoroughly discussing the quote with Cling and developing a full understanding of what their work would encompass, I agreed to the price quoted. The next morning, I received several video emails from Cheryl, a co-owner and office manager. It clearly showed a mother and four young raccoons nesting in my attic. Moreover, they were entering and exiting exactly where Clint originally said. The next step for Clint was to set up a "one-way" exit for them that would allow them to leave, but not re-enter through the same opening. That worked great on all but one of the young ones. Clint took steps to make it easier for this last one to leave, but for some reason it would not. That meant another trip to place a trap inside of my attic. Guess what . . . the raccoon got the water and food from the trap, but it malfunctioned. That meant another trip with two more different traps and this time it worked. Mike personally came and retrieved the traps and the captured raccoon. He assured me that he would be taking it at least thirty miles away, as this is the distance needed to ensure that it would not return. After this, the cameras were monitored for a few days and then Clint came and retrieved them and completed the final steps to seal up the house. Keep in mind that all of this was performed with outside temps in the mid 90's. They insisted that the warranty didn't cover the "new" entry holes. The next company that came in had to redo a lot of their work and patch additional areas that Critter Ridder missed. I spoke with Mike, who spend over 15 minutes talking AT me with assumptions he made after I gave him some info. I asked him 3x for a time that he could come see what was going on and make some more concrete determinations. Mike flat out refused to come unless he was "the last bidder to arrive" as he feared others would undercut his price. When I explained it was my right to bid the project, and price was not my only determining factor he refused yet again. I used Critter Ritter to get racoons out of my attic. At the time that I agreed to hire them I was assured that they would remove racoons and do everything else required to ensure they did not return. They never did catch racoons despite having a plan that included a trap, a scent sprayed to attract them and video cams installed to watch thier activity. I was told that I could watch video of what was going in my attic however they claimed to have a camera issue after taping for more than a week. After all the work they did and the supposed one year guarantee on thier work the racoons returned just days after they finished. I had other issues that contributed to my situation including tree limbs near roofline and a roof that was twenty years old and had shingle damage. I should have dealt with them first. I would have been able to avoid paying a lot of money on thier technique that did not provide desired result or alleviate the potential of critters returning. I feel like I should have been told up front that those issues needed to be addressed first. I called Critter Ridder per a friend's recommendation. We had a few squirrels invade our attic, and we wanted what everyone wants: someone to save the day. However, we also wanted a no-kill savior who would not introduce chemicals into our home. Mike showed up and not only had the right traps and equipment but he also had a strategy. S nice Critter Ridder has a whole other skills set - handy work - Mike (rather than dropping poison all over the attic) started by filling the holes and cracks where the squirrels were expected to have entered. Before they were able to come out and seal the house, they came and put down some Bobcat urine to keep the squirrels away. They then sealed the house in several places where squirrels were getting in. Their communication was excellent throughout the process. They were not able to get the racoon out of our attic. Their "Flush" treatments did not work in a reasonable amount of time, (18 days). They were non-responsive. They talked a good story but the follow thru-was spotty to non-existent. They refused to give us a refund for not-getting rid of the racoon. They really seem not professional and do not take responsibility for what their employees do or do not do. They have a "convenient" memory and forget that they promised in only a few days. Buyer Beware. Here are some of the facts as they stand. They did a lot of work for us in the past for a rat infestation we had in our attic. The rats had set up shop and torn through some of our insulation. We did work totaling about $4000 and at the time everything seemed to be fine. Fast forward 2 years later and we have a new infestation. We looked through our paperwork and figured the best approach would be to first go with the company that we initially worked with. When we approached them we were under 2 months past warranty so when we inquired if there was any options they had for established customers instead of us paying full price all over again, the response we got was rude and unprofessional. The owner was never able to locate our record and would keep saying that his records had been very disorganized but now his "girlfriend was in charge of the office admin so things should be better". We located our record of the invoice and called them back and this time I spoke with the "girlfriend". I was taken aback by how aggressive her tone was on the phone. It was unnecessary and again, unprofessional. Since then we have worked with ChemFree for the last couple of years. These guys are legit and now that I have something to compare to I can see the stark contrasts in customer service and professionalism. We had a re infestation with ChemFree and they have an excellent well organized process to plan for such a situation unlike Critter Ridder and the service appointments by Chem Free when they came back were flawless just like the first time they did the work. Great company, does a thorough and professional job. The initial inspection and estimate was excellent. It's not cheap but homeowner's insurance will pay for raccoon damage. I had a raccoon in my attic that tore up my exterior chimney and attic as well as evidence of attic rats. The job was complicated by the discovery of termites. Luckily the owner, Mike, is certified for termite treatment. I had a complete attic restoration with new insulation. It took a long time to get everything done but that was partially due to weather and holidays. It's been over a month and a half since I had Critter Ridder come to my house and give me an estimate to take care of roof rats and do exclusion work. The representative was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. His estimate was not. I called a second highly rated company and got an estimate from them that was less than half of the Critter Ridder estimate AND included a cleaning of the attic. Critter Ridder's attic cleaning cost was an add on service in addition to the pest control estimate. Secondly, Critter Ridder tried to upsell me an "attic restoration" package where they remove all insulation, do a "deep" cleaning and replace the insulation which would have brought the entire cost well over $10k -- yes, $10k. I mentioned the attic restoration to the second company and was told it was "unnecessary for my situation"... just as I thought. They explained where it would be necessary and I was not even close for consideration. Both companies warranty their work for a year. You can renew Critter Ridder's warranty each year for a cost of $500. (Well, on the form they gave me, the amount was a fill in the blank and he wrote $500, so maybe they charge other people less?). The other company allows me to renew for $150 each year. The representative from Critter Ridder showed up at my house in a nondescript pickup truck with a Critter Ridder shirt on. The other company showed up with two guys, driving matching trucks with the company's logo on it and in uniforms. They sent two guys because one was in training. I mention the presentation because I don't want anyone thinking that the second company was not a professional outfit. Their presentation inspired more confidence than Critter Ridder. I went with the second company. Well, I no longer have roof rats, I'm 100% satisfied with the exclusion work and I paid a fraction of what Critter Ridder wanted to charge me. I saved thousands of dollars. I understand that different companies will charge different amounts for the same service, but I feel Critter Ridder was trying to rip me off. I don't say that lightly. If they can justify why their estimate was so high compared to the other company, I will change my review. But I'd strongly encourage others who are considering Critter Ridder to shop around. Based on some of their reviews, they do good work, but they should for the amount of money they charge. read more

After a week, they finally called back. They're ready to do the other house now. No, I'm not ready for you to do another house until you get the first one right. We discussed the things that weren't right on the 1st. house, and they sent a guy out who actually fixed them, and tried a different type of trap. They'd sold me a case of traps, 1/3 of them were defective. They wouldn't stay set. They finally (after two weeks!) sealed up the place that I and the salesman agreed back when we first talked about the work was where the rats were getting into the attic. They also patched (rather ugly, but... ) a new hole by my garage door where a rat chewed his way out after they sealed the garage. THEY NEVER SET ANY TRAPS IN THE GARAGE. Not even now. The problem seems to be that this company doesn't have adequate supervision. They sent non-english speaking workers to do the work, and never checked up on them. Some of the work is good; some is really trashy. And my wife was LIVID at having to clean up trash they left thrown in the back yard. read more
