One of my new favorite coffee stops. Intricate yet I can navigate the menu perfectly. I have this amazing coffee called sweet victory. Perfect amount of spice and wholesome caramel to kick my day off right. They have these cool cards for loyalty, so you can get a punch or roll the dice to get more punched or destroy the one you have, dare to roll!!! Roomy as well, wouldn't mind a meeting or social gathering here!!! I like that their are a lot of options. I was a little disappointed that several of the games were missing directions in the box. But I guess we could have asked to have the games explained. We ended up just googling it. I was also surprised that they did not have more snack foods since they don't allow you to bring in snacks. They had a fun Easter Egg give away when I went. read more

Being able to get together with a few friends and play from such a huge variety of board games along with a lovely coffee and drink selection makes this a 5 start evening hands down. First time my friends and I went in we were a tad overwhelmed by all of the game options, but there was always a handy employee to go over selections and give advice, on both what to play and the rules of the games. Spielbound features a lot of board games and they have a game demo almost every day. A game demo means that they feature a new game with a volunteer that will teach you how to play the game (otherwise, you have to pay $5 to play for the day). They serve coffee, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. Their small pizzas taste great, but they are overpriced. However, you're allowed to bring your own food in (but not drinks). They have a monthly membership for $15 (which comes with three free guest passes). The people here are really friendly and will let you join their table even if you come alone. Staff members are great and will assist you with finding a game to play. read more

I LOVE Spiel Bound! It is my favorite place to go on Saturdays! You can socialize with new people, you can socialize with people you already know, and you can play boardgames all day! We were impressed! It was challenging to head to the bar and talk to the employee who greeted us with a smile when we walked in, as we were hopelessly drawn to the mammoth room of thousands of games! Pleasantly surprised to see alcoholic beverages, including taps of good beers and mead, in addition to their ample cafe offerings. Beers were also reasonably priced. A day of game play costs $5. You can get yearly or monthly memberships, and you can rent rooms for very reasonable rates (I think one of the rooms was $80 for the night, but anything your group spends on beverages is taken off that total). Of course you get a free trial visit for your first time. We were overwhelmed by the game selection, and our groups varied interests - but an employee swung by, helped us pick a game, and then explained the instructions to us carefully and helpfully (and returned frequently to ensure we were ok). Apparently we ended up with a game destined to sit below monopoly in their joke "Games that end friendships" category, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Employees were always wandering around to be flagged down at any moment for assistance, which was great. They seemed to know a ton about the most popular games, and their enthusiasm was infectious. A group next to us with CAH (a personal favorite game) at their table wasn't playing, but were gossiping loudly in the otherwise library-like environment. I can imagine that an intense, quiet, game-focused group might get annoyed by less focused or intoxicated participants nearby, but for us it was a great night out, and a spectacular alternative to frat filled bars. read more

One of my favorite date night spots and places to visit in Omaha. I've never been anywhere like it- I love the cozy environment & the smell of rich coffees & teas. The staff is always friendly & quick to help you pick out a game to play. I highly recommend sipping on the chai tea while you're playing- but don't kid yourself... get the largest size mug they have- mine was gone in 2 mins it was that good. Had our first visit to Spielbound a couple weeks ago to play a game with friends and I'm already planning our next trip. What a wonderful and eclectic spot this is! An enormous selection of games, from simple checkers to complex Euro-style games, and a wonderfully friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff willing to teach and encourage new players. There were also many tasty beers on tap in addition to their coffee and soft drink options (Cheerwine!!!). Not much food to speak of, but you are welcome to bring in outside stuff of have it delivered. Can't recommend this place enough, we had such a fun time here and the staff really is top notch! read more

Great staff, great service. They offer an experience that is hard to find in Omaha. I could go to a comic store and sit around some tables and argue the merits of my Warhammer models or Yu Gi Oh. Hell I could even bust out some Magic or Pokemon, but Spielbound has a few things. Namely games. All of them. settlers of Catan (and expansion packs) to classic games like Stratego. They have a fair fee to have fun. 5 bucks per night or $ 15 amonth. Similar to a Zune Pass. I guess its is xbox music now, but it doesn't matter. $150 for an annual pass seems like a deal. Beer, Wine, and Coffee. great atmosphere and a mix of people. I can't wait to start a game night. read more

Really cool place to go spend an afternoon. You can easily make friends with other people and play games. Learned to play empire builder which I understand is similar to ticket to ride. They have a good variety of beers and juices and hot drinks. read more

We love coming here and the last time the barista was a little short with us. We didn't think anything of it because it could have been misinterpreted and everyone has a bad moment. But then the second time we came, not only was the first barista snotty with one of us for our first drink order, another served our friend and then spoke rudely afterwards, not knowing the next customer was also part of our group to hear it. read more

Love the game choice! This place is for the amateur/traditional gamer and the pros :) We took in our Game of Thrones board game and bought beer from the bar. Coffee and snacks are also available. We were there about 5 hours, and we were happy they were cool with having a pizza delivered. People are super friendly, and like to come over to watch games. We had a few bystanders and welcomed questions about are game. It was a fun night! Cost: $5/person if you are going to use there board games. I got to visit twice April '16 during tragic circumstances. Absolutely amazing place! We got a group of four together less than an hour before closing and I rushed them through the instructions of Flash Point: Fire Rescue while setting up the game. None of the other three were gamers (it is perhaps my fav of all time), yet all had a good time. We didn't get to finish the game, but no one was disappointed. Had an absolutely amazing and huge hot chocolate, and it was a very cold mid-April, so it was much appreciated. Second visit was a weekend night and no tables available. No big deal. Again, my friend was not a gamer. A large group were playing at Qwirkle, and I emphasize 'playing at' -- it was clear they didn't know the rules. As I was explaining it to my friend, they overheard me explaining it somewhat differently and asked me to teach them, so I did. Everyone was happy. Love this place, I would definitely be a regular if I didn't live over a thousand miles away. My friend, who is mostly a local, does visit when he's back at home. read more

We found this place on a Sunday night when everything was closing down and we wanted a cup of coffee. We were extremely surprised to find this cool place! We had our girls with us along with some friends from out of town and they had to almost kick us out. There are so many different games to play and all of them were neatly put away. We ended up coming back the following Thursday and I'm glad we got there early because by 7 the place was packed and people were still coming in. It seemed anyone I knew, close friend, colleague, or a friend's friend of a friend, had nothing but praise for the establishment. After now having visited the place a dozen times, I'm happy to label the game board cafe with a 5 of 5. There are well over one thousand games, a wide selection of coffee, and an ever rotating variety of beer on tap. I've gone at open, and I've stayed till close. The kind of place where you being your own game and the odds are strong they already have it! The staff is witty and knowledgable, and I really like how they help donate to local charities and causes even though they're a relatively new business. The cafe/bar is great with good choices and prices. This is easily one of my favorite neighbor places to walk to for a good time! This place is an interesting concept. Coffee and liquor can be sold behind the bar and games can be played for five dollars for a day pass. I came in waiting for my date to arrive and I did not get a hello from the staff member. They look at me suspiciously and I told him I was waiting for my date to arrive and they said be sure to Pay for a day pass. It came off very rude. I heard other staff members welcoming visitors. I arrived at 7 PM and the place was not very busy so there's no excuse why they were unwelcoming. I will visit this place one more time to see if the attitude of the employee is more respectable. read more

This rating is based on the great game selections and the extremly helpful staff. We went here on a Sat and participated in a game demo (Chaostle). After the demo we stayed to play a few more games which the staff helped us pick out and gave us game play advice as well. We also had coffee, a smoothie and a few snacks. The selection of food is relatively small so don't plan on having a meal there. The coffee was good but this place is really all about the games. We didn't partake in any of the beer or wine and didn't explore the selection. This was a great place for us to spend some family time on a Saturday. read more

Spielbound is so fun and a great place to go for a realizing night out with friends! Tonight we went in with friends and there weren't any open tables so we were told we could our names on a waiting list. We provided our information and were told they'd call as soon as a table was available, however, after an hour and a half of walking around Midtown Crossing while we waited for a call, we decided to go back and have our names taken off the list because they were so busy. When we went back to tell staff, there were open tables and new customers sitting down. Unfortunately, we had never received a call - indicating they likely forgot about us. We'll definitely come back, but if Spielbound says they'll offer a wait list, they really should honor it. read more

We had a group reservation for one of the back rooms but there was a miscommunication on the maximum capacity for the room we got and there wasn't enough tables for our group in the common area. The staff was very helpful in making sure everyone was taken care of- whether that included refunding day passes for those you paid but couldn't get a seat or making sure there was room on the wait list for us. On top of that, they provided us with day passes to redeem later that night if people wanted to leave and come back later on. Not only were they very helpful and apologetic for the misunderstanding (even though it wasn't completely their fault) but the staff behind the bar were knowledgeable about their product and the game selection was perfect for the crowd we had. Their smoothies, frozen coffees, and beer selection were tastefully executed and made to perfection as well! I will definitely be going back! read more

You can spend hours here playing games but now Food choices are limited to high sugar bakery items and Italian soda, coffee and tea. Highly recommend the gaming.
