This location, in Palm Desert, was the closest to my house in RM. It's convenient enough with Costco, SAMS and WalMart all within minimal driving or walking distance. However, it's woefully slow. I don't think it's the reps, per se, but more the customers. During the almost 1.5 hours combined waiting time (I had to pick up new equipment, go home, then come back and drop off the old equipment), I noticed that almost everyone who was there had little to no grasp of current technology. Either it wasn't a clear understanding of their cellular phone plan rates, the Xumo box and remote, or how to connect their dumb or smart TV to spectrum, it was all rather simple stuff that took so much time. I had ordered my equipment while driving and was told it would be ready after 1pm. Fair enough. I got there at 1:20 but didn't leave until 2:15! Yikes! Then, when I returned at 6:30 pm, I wasn't helped until almost 7. For those of us who know how to log into a website and navigate, there should be an automated dispenser and/or return kiosk for equipment. I really didn't have to talk to anyone to get or return the equipment. I mean, I had to activate the new modem on my own via their website, so Spectrum already made the assumption I didn't need any customer service help, so why would they think I'd need it picking up or returning equipment. The 2 star rating was based on the wait times, but really, it's a reflection of the customers' lack of knowledge... I appreciate the teams' patience there. Hats off to Selena. She transferred our mobile service to spectrum from another provider keeping our existing mobile numbers. This is a complicated process which I could not handle by myself. She knew all the steps to get this accomplished. She also set up a payment from Spectrum compensating us for a payoff we made to our previous provider for a phone financed through them. I had to call two different times in the evening because my Internet was not working. I am on auto pay. Cancelled my service and returned all my equipment on April 6, 2026. My payment was paid on April 5, 2026. I called to get a refund since I only had service for one day before I cancelled. NO REFUND! Will not use Spectrum again!!! read more

Set an appointment with Spectrum on the phone because I received a purple Apple phone in the mail. Wanted to exchange for a black color. Should be simple right. Angel couldn't have been less helpful. Acted like I was told to go to the store from some other company. Said corporate shouldn't have sent you here. I told Angel they did, so can we just exchange phones. He said no that is their inventory and ours is our inventory and we don't work with corporate on exchanges. Hello Spectrum you are all the same company. The staff are wonderful but the equipment is horrible. I stopped in for a new cable box and remote control. The remote control is extremely difficult to use and is extremely unresponsive.You have to press the buttons so hard to get them to work. If you have to ever return any equipment, DO NOT bring it to Spectrum! Take it to UPS and there will be no wait. Count on an EXTENDED wait if you bring it to Spectrum. This location is not very accommodating and currently has extended wait times. Edit: Now that I have been here a bit, I actually feel bad for this gal Renee as three other people have come in since I've been here just to drop off equipment. She gets the joy of delivering the bad news to all of us that we have to sign in and WAIT or be charged for abandoning our equipment. Spectrum mobile customer service sucks! They are the worse trained customer service people that I have ever come in contact with. I need to change my address as I have attempted to do so for 2 years. This time they informed me I would have to buy a new phone in order to change it. Are you freakin kidding me? We get text messages stating our service will be shit off if not paid asap. Spectrum - New Store. - Internet Service Providers Near Me - Palm Desert, California

Don't believe Spectrum. when they say they will give you credit when you port over from another carrier. We did and they made me send a fully paid for Galaxy 24 from the original carrier to them so they could send back one from Spectrum. Then the credit never showed up on our billing so I decided to go back to our original carrier. During the porting process Spectrum locked the Galaxy phone so that we not only could not port, but could not use the phone. My wife needs 24 hour cell and this caused some legal issues to be delayed simply because of Spectrums incompetence with the porting. In fact once we did successfully port back to the original carrier Spectrum told me my bill was $734 for the phone and that it would stay locked until I paid for a phone that they supplied and yet I exchanged - at their direction - a fully paid phone. Talk about bait and switch. Spectrum is less than honorable since they never honored the credit and yet I had to pay for a Spectrum Galaxy that was an exchange for a fully paid cell phone to begin with. Call it what you will, but bait and switch is the easiest way to describe any promotional program Spectrum offers. On top of this - we go to Europe on vacation and I call Spectrum to make sure we have cell coverage - the guarantee it...never happened. Be careful with Spectrum - integrity is missing. read more

I have been a long time Spectrum customer. I do enjoy their Internet and television service. But today I was ready to find a new streaming service or Internet partner. My husband and I are moving out of town. We went to this store to return the equipment. After signing in, about eight people showed up for service. They were understaffed, worked very slowly with each client and tried to press selling phones with a room full of people. It's clear that they just want to sell phones and not help anyone else. They kept encourage everyone to leave and drive to return equipment at one of two UPS stores. After waiting almost 40 minutes, I gave up and went to the UPS store. There has to be a better system. I wasted too much time trying to drop off equipment, they could easily have a different system or someone just quickly scan and checks in the equipment or a self-serve kiosk, I spent so much gas driving around, trying to accomplish such a simple task. The Spectrum Store needs to improve Customer Service desperately. We were a walk-up customer and we waited nearly TWO HOURS to see a counter representative, just to activate our mobile phone. It appears they placed all priority on customers who made appointments, while we watched ourselves get knocked all the way down the waiting queue. We almost got called, but then a sudden surge in online appointments kicked us back down the list. This only means on busy days - walk up traffic would effectively spend ALL DAY waiting to be called. Who has the time for that? The worst part was we actually gave up waiting and left, after realizing the futility of this madness. Spectrum should really take the lead of the DMV and allow two lines to form: a) Appointments b) non-appointments. Horrible experience! Tried to turn in an unnecessary cable box after getting a ROKU TV. Waited for 30 minutes, even though I saw 4 employees in the store, only 2 were assisting customers. It was finally my turn and Ramon assisted me, he told me I should keep the box since Spectrum service is included with my HOA. I again explained why I didn't need the box, he then tried to tell me he couldn't accept it because the account was in my husbands name. Which was incorrect! We went in right at 10AM when they opened and was helped by Ramon. He was such a big help and answered any questions we had. We also had to work at 11AM and we were out in less than 30 minutes. We just came in for Home internet and left with an amazing deal!!! I will definitely be changing from T-mobile Phone service to spectrum mobile because of Ramon's input and expertise. We were informed after about an hour there priority is appointments. We explained we had no access to his phone and said this is their policy and we have to wait. An hour and half goes by and "Ramon" explained that he couldn't tell us how long of a wait it would be. There were 10 other walk ins behind us also waiting! This is insane to make your customers wait this long!!! They should just announce there is no walk ins!!!! Do not trust salespeople at Spectrum. They will say they want to offer you the best deal, however please be aware of their deals. I had been charged for "voice" on my bill, i did not realize that they added this feature as a "package" and never confirmed to me that this is a landline because it does not indicate "landline" on the billing statement.
